James Lake: The Bigfoot Adventures

Rate this book
This omnibus edition contains revised second editions of both books in the James Lake bigfoot adventure series.

James Lake is a typical twelve-year-old kid—that is if you count debunking myths like the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa Claus as being typical. However, after he and his family move from Florida to Washington, James is thrown into social chaos and finds himself hunting Bigfoot while trying to dodge the school bullies and keeping himself off the endangered species list. Will James debunk the legend of Bigfoot, or will he find that some myths are not so easily dismissed? Join James and all the strange and interesting people he meets on his adventures.
You'll never think of Bigfoot the same way again.

Writing is searching within yourself to draw on your feelings, dreams, and insecurities in the hopes that your readers will relate and feel what your characters are experiencing. Searching for the right combination of words to paint the picture each scene needs is a long and mentally exhausting process.

I often feel drained by this process and when I am mentally tired, I can't force myself to sit down at the keyboard. Even now, as I try to show you what is in my head and heart, I feel anxious and weary.

Despite this, when I come to the end of each journey, there is a feeling of so much accomplishment. Everything my characters did and felt is in some way related to me and who I am, who I want to be, or who I wish I never had been. When I make it through, when I write the final words on the final draft before publication, I feel like I've shed an outer shell and renewed myself...until the process starts again.

The more I write, the more I read...

I just completed reading this emotional and amazing book “James Lake: The Bigfoot Adventures”.

Well, the beginning of the story was so emotional, and I could relate to the feelings of James and his friends. The starting of the story took a good start with an interesting and engaging hook line. Most books that I have encountered have boring introductions, but this book directly deals with the emotions of the characters.

I liked the writing style it was very simple and easy to understand, and there were no complex words. Also, I appreciate the author for not wasting time on the detailed character introduction.
I liked the beginning part of the story and the plot which are relatable to our life and the characters in the story connect quickly. The conversation between the characters is more engaging and makes the story more gripping, and unpredictable. Moreover, the dialogue didn't bore me but made the plot interesting.

Overall, the book has many characters where some have lots of importance in the story, but characters like Fiona and James made a great impression. I liked James's character who carries different emotions and is also very adventurous.

I would like to rate the first part 4.5/5.

Well, the second part "James Lake: Sneypa", was also interesting, but there were fewer emotional and connecting scenes. But the ending of the story filled the void.

The story has many suspense moments when James and the rest of his friends enter a dark empty room, that part is funny and the previous part where Edwin encounters a Bear, and his scene is funny.

I liked James and Ms. Hatfield's conversation in many scenes in the story was funny when Ms. Hatfield didn't allow James to his P.E session.

The scene where Lettie apologizes to James and the way he wipes his jacket brings a different shade to the character. It is kind of a unique thing I found in the story.

I liked the ending, which was so emotional to read, the dialogue of James made me feel sad.

Overall, in the second part of the book I liked Athelstan and Lettis’s characters. These two characters made a strong connection while reading. Compared to part one the second part was slow-paced but the plots were interesting.

I would like to rate the second part 4/5. overall loved the entire series :)

“Our experiences define us.”

This omnibus edition is perfect for a marathon of “James Lake bigfoot adventure series”, a fantastic read that readers of all ages will enjoy, with relatable characters, and a great storyline. I love how whether you're a believer in the supernatural stuff or a debunker like James, this story is sure to capture your imagination.

At the beginning we find James starting over in this new place, new school, new people who enter his life, navigating the pitfalls of middle school, not knowing how everything would take a turn when he gets involved in an adventure related to the search of Bigfoot, where everything is becoming more complex, and the challenges are increasing more and more.

James is not your average main character, but he, along with the rest of the characters, has managed to find a little space in our hearts. And as you progress through the story, you realize that many surprises and unexpected twists awaited us.
I like how it maintains the adventure, the mystery, a touch of intrigue, a bit of romance, the chapters fly by, it has several strong points such as its originality, a fresh and addictive writing style, and good descriptions. The author is very skilled at putting everything together. LOVE IT!
