The bad guys want to possess me. The good guys want me dead.
I used to believe vampires didn’t exist. Neither did demons or werewolves or magical houses that create anything you want.
Then a deranged vamp tried to tear my throat out.
Now, I’m surrounded by four hot vampire warriors, their hearts and minds scarred by the horrors of their past. The Sentinels say they know me, even if I’ve never seen them before, and though they’re drawn to me, they’d also just as soon see me dead.
Because it turns out I’m anything but an ordinary vampire. I'm the reborn soul of a creature who made the world tremble in fear. The monsters who attacked me are hunting me now, determined to control me no matter the cost. Without the Sentinels, I won't survive.
But the dark power inside me just might kill us all.

A simple human girl turn out to be a reborn of the Vampire Queen plus four hunky dory super hot vampire as her sentinels aka guardian ala reverse harem? sounds like a good time for me... Lol
The characters in reverse harem troop is tricky in my opinion to have strength in their own to be noticeable individually. And I have to say this book don't have them that strong. Yet. Asher, Gordon, Liam and Ulysses. From the first impression, I'll say four of them are wary and cautious to Wren. Traumatic and scared of the possibility the evil Queen might come back. But individually, they are just still skin deep.
Wren is...how do I say this🤔 she's slow. It's normal and realistic to be scared and overwhelmed when you were attacked then when you woke up, you're being told you've died and now you're are vampire. But, when you can accept there's a demon who can materialized a room that didn't existed before but still denied you're a vampire until you got burned by the sunlight? Yeah..that's saying something about the character.
The first blood drinking was hot. But one fingering scene couldn't be call steamy, so yeah I need more to call this book steamy. One of the thing that motivated me to go on to second book is for the smegsi scene... Lol
The ending? Love that! Excited for book two to see what happen next and if Wren would grow.

Okay so I can understand that there is a pull between these four men and the main character. Her past life and the bond that Amalie had shared with them. I can sorta make that out to make sense.
Our FMC had zero characteristics. The only thing that stuck out was that she cared for her sister and could show remorse. That was it. She didn't have any depth. Yeah she was a bit strong headed and stubborn but that was it. It did make me mad that she didn't even believe that she was a vampire till she caught on fire from trying to go into the sun. It takes burns on most of her arm to realize aww snap I might actually believe this now. I could believe it if she kept thinking she was in a nightmare but no.
The men had a bit more depth to them, they had a bit more character. There wasn't much though because I kept getting them confused. I didn't even know what they really looked like through most of this and just imagined typical hot guys cause that's apparently what this was going for.
I will not be reading this series anymore. I have zero dedication towards these characters.
I was actually really impressed by this book. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I liked the vampire transition and the plot twists - ends on a cliffhanger!!
Humans, Rabids, Vampires, Zombies, Government Sanctioned Slayers...this book reads like a battle of the undead, but I had trouble keeping everybody and everything straight. At the beginning, a group of high school kids are having a bonfire when everything goes horribly wrong. People are dying and disappearing, the shouts are unnerving, and Wren wakes up to find she is being held captive and is hurting. She is the embodiment of the Vampire Queen, an evil witch who murdered vindictively, and it's going to take the Sentinels to save her from a painful fate. Wren, Asher, Liam, Ulysses and Gideon are her sentinels, and it is going to be interesting to see how they all work together for, and with, Wren. I received an advance copy from Bad Boy Update and am voluntarily reviewing.
I grew up with a fascination for vampires. It was probably one of the first areas of the paranormal genre that I really got into, both as an author and a reader. I knew going into this book that I would really enjoy it. Sierra is one of my favorite authors. The spin that Sierra put on vampires is very refreshing and I really enjoyed the way she spun it her own way. You first meet Wren, her twin sister and some friends at a party. Sounds pretty normal right? Cops start moving in to crash it. Nothing unusual...right? Everything seems fine and dandy until Wren ends up separated from everyone else. Things certainly take a turn for the worse when someone shows up and they look worse for the wear. The catch? Wren's his meal. Four delicious men come to her rescue, each one with their own perks...their own strengths...and with something haunting them. They save her, but that doesn't stop her world from changing forever. Whether she accepts it or not, she has a tie to those four men that not a single one of them want to acknowledge. Because this bond comes from a person that none of them ever want to see walk the earth again. Wren must find a way to adjust to her new world as the one she left behind starts falling apart. From her parents acting strangely to her twin sister suddenly taking a trip that no one remembers. The rabids aren't done with Wren. They're just getting started and they might just have an ace up their sleeve. Is she ready to tackle it all?
Absolutely an amazing read that had me glued in from start to finish. I absolutely plan on getting the rest of the series because I need to see how this all ends. I HARDCORE commend this book. Fantastic job, Sierra!!
I recieved a copy via booksprout and i write my review voluntary.
Holy heckbolls and pancakes can i just say that its been a while that i nearly finished a book in 1 go, its just that good.
I like how it all started with Wren becomming a vampire and how the story got on from there, most stories end there as a happy ending so it was a big yes for me.
Couldnt be happier about the multiple povs always a huge fan of that!
I may of fallen hard for them all but mostly for Liam hes my babycakes!
The action i love in the story theres never a dull moment or snooze moment it just flows so nicely.
As we follow Wren and her journey to acceptance with all its ups and down and pains i have to say the book kept throwing me for a guess, its amazing lol.
The guys are tortured souls and i love Wrens impact on them! And i can only hope she helps them heal.
Ive got a few questions and theories going on in my head, even thought i knew the clifhanger but oh no no it was a crazier on then i thought and am not sure how i feel about that! The clifhanger didnt stop me from wanting to read the next book oh no no but more that i dont like it.. any other would of been fine but i just dont like it.
Lets just hope my feeling towards Harper change but i dont think they will i dont like her.
Overal im in love with this series its a real page turner and very hard to put down!
Cant wait to see the adventure Wren and the guys will go through!
Wren is attending a college bonfire party with friends. They hear police sirens and dash into the woods, not knowing that danger is waiting there. Wren, becoming a victim of the Vampire Queen, an evil witch, now contains her reborn soul. The feral vampires want to control her for their own purposes. The Sentinels -- warriors Asher, Liam, Ulysses, and Gideon -- save her and need to keep her safe for now.
Wren will have to work with the four vampires, who don’t seem to like her, in order to save her sister who could also be at risk. Wren needs the Sentinels for her survival. But the evil now inside of her could end up killing all of them. Grab your copy and follow this exciting story line where danger seems to be everywhere and Wren is just now learning about her new existence in the paranormal world.
What a story! This was my first book by Sierra Rowan and I am very impressed. The story is extremely well written and developed. It is a story that drew me in and didn’t let go. I just had to see what happened. There is so much action, drama, and suspense throughout it. Then we get to add a bit of mystery and boy does that really give the extra element to the story. I will say to a degree at the beginning Wren drove me a tad bit crazy with all her denial, but with what she went through who is to say I wouldn’t act the same way at first. But, as the story progresses I see a different side of her that really liked. The guys are interesting and I can’t wait to learn more about them. This story was an excellent read and then we get to this major cliffhanger and boy was really has me excited to see what is going to happen next.
Wren never believed in the supernatural. Demons, vampires and witches weren't real! At least not until a group of rouge vampires attacked her. Then out of the blue four delicious vampire warriors came to her rescue. She was still had a target on her back. The vampire rouges were relentless. Once Wren's past came to light she was devastated. Now she knew why the Sentinels we're wary of her. Now the rabids played dirty using her twin sister as bait! It ends in an explosive but so worth the wait! Definitely can't wait for next installment Blood Captive! Thank you Hidden Gems and the author for a digital copy. Read and reviewed voluntarily and the opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
I haven't read anything from Sierra before but after reading Blood Pawn I can't wait for the next book! Wren never believed in vampires, until she was attacked by rouges and then saved by four extremely handsome vampire warriors. She is having a hard enough time wrapping her head around her new reality, now she has to deal with the attraction she feels to each of them. The danger from the rouges isn't over and they seem to be targeting her and using her twin as bait. I love the story line, the twists and turns, the action and the passion. I can't wait for book 2!! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.
This story was cool. Wren did not believe in the supernatural until she was violently awakened to that reality. There are different types of vampires some more civilized than others and a war is brewing.
Wren has to come to terms with who she is now, as she becomes united with four vampires and works to save her sister who is now also in danger.
I was definitely intrigued by some of the twists on vampire lore and the related magic built into the world of this book. There are some elements of romance which are a slow burning tension in this book. I am eager to start the next book in the series.
I give this one 3.5 stars. This is a little different take on vampires. We have twins Wren and Harper with friends at a bonfire party. One police raid later ( the girls mom is one of the cops) and we have mayhem already beginning. Wren is snatched by vampires called rabids… name fits their actions. Rescue comes in the form of 4 hunks dudes (Sentinels). Without giving away anymore of the story line I will say the following story has real promise. I only wish that in this opener Wren hadn’t been so unbelieving about the events that took her humanity from her. I will continue and see where she ends up.
Wow what a great start to a new series filled with witches, shifters, vampires, and unexpected twists in this storyline. I think this is extraordinary must read, and I highly recommend it. The party they attended was raided by the police. Escaping into the woods she's being attacked by vampires, which she didn't even know existed. Suddenly four other vampires appeared and saved her. They call themselves the Sentinels, and they say they know her, but she's never seen those gorgeous men in her life. Wow, is her life about to change. Absolutely well written and unique read.
Goodness me 68% and she still thinks she's human with everything she's been through and seen. This kind of silly hard headed behaviour just screams TSTL especially considering we still don't know her personality any which way.
But as always my limit for these kind of heroines is them running off into danger with no plan, no weapon, not even the ability to defend themselves just seemingly eager to get other people killed for them. But somehow the MMCs just fall over themselves because she's so amazing..... Really!! Hard no on this one.
I am a big fan of paranormal books. This is a new author for me and when I first started to read the book, I almost gave up thinking it was going to be a bad read. Thankfully, I didn’t give up because it really turned out to be a really good read. It had a lot of action, a bit of mystery and characters that I enjoyed. I look forward to the next book in the series to see what happens with Wren, Harper and let’s not forget those handsome boys.
I loved this story and the characters Wren, Asher, Gideon, Liam and Ulysses they are 4 sexy vampire sentinels who are there to protect Wren but they knew Wren from another life and she was a vicious killer and the guys don’t like her, so will the dark power inside Wren turn her into the monster that she was before?. I loved this story and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I highly recommend this book.
She is struggling with what she has learned, they all have horrible pasts. One night changed everything. Will the men learn to trust her? Will she accept what she now is?
This was definitely a book that sucked me and led me to reading the second book and anxiously awaiting the third to come out. I didn't blame her one bit for struggling when she never knew that there were things out there she didn't know about. I loved how despite them struggling with the past, the men were determined to do what they could to protect and teach her. Good read!

When Wren was attacked leaving a party, she had no idea of how her life was to change - forever! People wanted her dead - and she has no idea why - would she ever find out? Loads of action, great story line - the characters are brilliant, and I cant wait to see how they further develop in the remainder of the series!.

Wren never believed in vampires. Then she was attacked. She has a lot of trouble believing that she was now one. She meets four sexy warriors that have to help her believe and learn. Never knew what was coming next. Lots of danger, intrigue, and of course, HEAT. Look forward to the next part of the story.

Arc review I received a free copy of this book via Cherrylily ARCs and am voluntarily leaving a review. Wren is the reborn soul of Amale von morgerstene called the desolation the bloodwright ,the artist of death and mistress of Hell over the vampires in her past life is bounced to four men the sentinels .now she needs to stop The women with her from destroying everything . Fantastic can't wait for more.
Blood Pawn is about a human named Wren who is turned into a vampire. She then realizes that she is a part of a bigger story and goes on a journey discovering why her life has changed so much.
I really liked this book. It moved along the plot really well and explained what was happening to the main character Wren without creating confusion or reveling to much. It setup for the second book well. Very much a slow burn.
This is a real page turner. The plot is well developed with plenty of suspense drama action and romance. The relationship between Wren, Asher, Liam, Ulysses and Gideon is really what makes this a fantastic read. Definitely looking forward to book 2 . I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via Bad Boys Update.
I enjoyed reading this book. The characters and the storyline were great, I loved them. I cannot wait to read the next installment, it ended on a cliffhanger. This author writes well and has you hooked into the story right from the start.

This was a pretty good start to the series. Taking into consideration that it takes place in a span of a few days, it makes sense the majority of the book our FMC is in denial until too much evidence is stacked against her. Definite cliffhanger but I'm looking forward to find out more of this group's story
This is so good. Reverse harem, hot vampires, an evil to be conquered and a cliffhanger to the next book 8n the series I mean, what more could you wis( for!!
If you love PNR and reverse harems, this is definitely for you.

This book was actually really freaking good!! I was so hooked from the beginning, and when I got to the end of the book I was really confused on how I finished it that fast! I never once felt like the book was dragging on.
I am so excited to see the relationship between Wren and the guys grow, and just to keep reading for the plot!!
She was in absolute denial for so long it was making me question it too.
This was simply said, very well written. I devoured it in mere hours, like a super speedy reader. Couldn't put it down until I had answers, and now I'll need to pick up book 2 to get more answers. Good soup. Also, I want those jelly cube things. They sound amazing.
