Freaky Florida

Hangry as Hell

Rate this book
They are old, cranky, and dangerous.

Midlife witch Missy Mindle is also a home-health nurse for vampires. You see, not all vampires are young, sexy urbanites. What happens if you were a senior citizen when you’re turned? You move to Florida, of course, to an oceanfront condo tower in Jellyfish Beach. There’s even a bloodmobile that shows up each night like a food truck.

But a disturbed ex-con hijacks the bloodmobile, leaving a community of vampires who aren’t just hungry, but freaking hangry. Missy’s magick is the only way to find the bloodmobile before the residents starve or feast upon their unsuspecting human neighbors.

This novella is your ticket into the Freaky Florida humorous paranormal mystery series. It includes four sample chapters from Snowbirds of Prey, Book 1 of Freaky Florida.

Entertaining vampire listening 🎶🔰

This was a free novella e-book from Amazon which I picked because of Florida in the title.

A cute short story of vampire retirees on the Florida coast and what happens when their blood bus 🚌 is hijacked. The leader the vampire group attempts to hold things together until a new supply of blood arrives.

I would recommend this novella and author to 👍 readers of fantasy vampire novels 👍🔰. 2023 👒😀☺😮

This shorter sequel gives a good idea of what the series is all about. It is not quite as gripping as the first book in the series "Snowbirds of Prey" but for a free little extra really not bad. I'm off to start the next book in the series right now...

Delightful paranormal times abound in South Florida in this fun romp of comedy starring the vamipiric community of senior citizens at Squid Towers, a condominium that caters to the already aged undead.

I loved this story, not just for the campy humor, but for the Florida-isms. The seniors play pickleball. The local witch/nurse who works as the health aide casts spells from Florida Cracker Folk Magic. The Blood Bus is hijacked twice, firstly by a disgruntled office employee, and secondly by vampire/punks, who take the Blood Bus to a wooded mobile home lot and convert the Bus into the Meth Express.

Only in Florida.

But beyond the silly, tongue-in-cheek humor, the characters themselves are delightful and well drawn. I understand the author's Freaky Friday trilogy revolves around the seniors of Squid Tower, and I am eager to read more. Kudos!

Hilarious!

When the Blood Bus that supplies the vampire's retirement home is hijacked things start to get out of hand and when the hijacker is hijacked the s--t really hits the fan. A laugh-out-loud romp with retired vamps werewolves and a novice witch trying to keep it all together and out of human view. Brilliant storylines and outrageous characters in this hilarious madcap romp, not to be missed, Baz.

This looks like a fun series. It's fast paced, which I enjoy. The idea of paranormal seniors, !icing in a retirement community in Florida had me hooked from the beginning.

It wasn’t as funny as I thought it would be. I can count on one hand the number of times I laughed.
Vampires with COPD and diabetes? I’m all for writers adding or taking from vampire lore but this was just stupid.
I did not like the author’s writing style. It was so blah. It was a struggle to read because instead of the story flowing smoothly it was bumpy.

Could have been better...

I got this because it was free and it did sound like I would enjoy it but I didn't like it much. The story line could be great if wrote correctly. I am hoping the first book in the series is alot better than this novella.

Arthritis and Fangs, oh my

This is an interesting take on the question, "What if the elderly got turned into vamipres?". It was an interesting light read.
