After the attack, Aidan Kaplan tries to piece his life together with the help of Brendan Gillespie, his uncle's mysterious business partner, and Quentin Braxton, his former therapist from the sanatorium.
A big secret is revealed, and the balance of power inside the Kaplan clan shifts in a surprising direction.
Frustrated by his isolation from the rest of the family, Cameron plots the destruction of those of his own blood.
Surrounded by vengeful enemies, but also backed by powerful allies, will the Kaplan men overcome the obstacles and disentangle themselves from the web of lies woven around them?
And, above all, are they strong enough to fight for the men they love?
H.M. Wolfe lives with the coolest Mom in the Universe and a fat, gay, submissive tomcat. She loves writing stories about boys and men who love, cherish, respect and protect other boys and men.
I don't even know what to say. If book one was messy but interesting, book 2 is just messy. A third of the previous relationships were left as is, a third was kind of progressed (but not really as the plot is way too much to dedicate to a couple) and the other third was blown to bits so the characters could be freed to date newly introduced characters... because we didn't have way too many characters to keep up with already. Now we also have to keep up with those not related to the family. And all the allegiances that were drawn in the first book (which, by the way, took like 50% of the book to draw them), forget about them, two thirds of them are redeemed by the power of family bonds. One of the couples I liked best was blown up to create two new couples that don't really convince me. A couple of characters I liked were set aside almost completely to favor others. And the story went from dramatic but followable to "a telenovela couldn't make it more dramatic and convoluted if they tried".
This mega talented author has written another fantastic, emotionally charged, gritty, grab-you-by-the-heartstrings, more-twists-and-turns-than-a-rollercoaster, gripping, smoldering, amazing, and totally awesome story. I ended up with a massive book hangover because I just couldn't put it down. H.M. Wolf has a LONG line of marvelous books that I would DEFINITELY recommend one clicking ASAP.
It was an emotional read that will wreck you and later mend you so beautifully. You'll have to be prepared for more secrets that will shock you, sweet reunion between lost family, sweet connections and couples that will make your heart soar. Unexpected events that changes everything, unexpected and unique relationships that can heal and hurt as well as a high dose of revenge and greed that puts our characters and innocent souls in danger. I loved the couples that are formed and the ones that begins to take shape as well as the devotion and patience shown to our beloved characters when they needed the most. I also loved the way our mysterious saviour begins the punishment of the one that caused so much grief and heartache. I really loved the story and I'm looking forward to see what happens next with our beloved characters.

The Kaplan Chronicles Volume 2 continues immediately following the first story. The Kaplan family gets the shock of a lifetime. Secrets are revealed, and the family comes together to fight a truly evil Cameron. They must overcome and heal in their own way. Loved all the couples that come together. I adored the ending, who was the mysterious benefactor that took care of the evil that plagued the family? I cannot wait to find out what next! Overall, a fantastic read that kept me flipping the pages.
This series is giving us one heck of a ride. Here we've got Aiden trying to get some stability back after past events but with everything we find out in this book, stability does not seem something the Kaplans are destined to achieve. This is a real rollercoaster and one of the best things in it is Cameron, a truly unforgettable villain. If you are like me and will read a book just for an amazing baddie, don't miss this. Questions are answered but not all of them and with the last book in the series labeled a "Christmas Edition" things are bound to get even more interesting.
Book #2 in KAPLAN CHRONICLES. A lot to unpack and catch up on. This is an INTERESTING series. Lots of characters. Brothers, Children, Cousins. Kaplan has the biggest clan. In this relationships blossom and solidify. Broken hearts mend and Justice is served. This has a great Epilogue. Looking forward to #3. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS KAPLAN CHRONICLES!!!!!!!!!!
Family can be your greatest strength or worse nightmare
Aidan began to heal after he was rescued. New circumstances brought a shift of power and a seed of destruction bloomed within the Kaplan Clan. Is the strength of family enough to overcome all? This is a magnificent continuation of Volume 1. I can’t wait for Volume 3.
I loved this book. After being rescued Aiden begins to heal with the help of Brendan Gillespie and Quentin Braxton. With the a huge secret and a shift in power there is one who will stop at nothing to bring the Kaplan clan down. Will the Kaplans be able to beat the threat that plans to destroy them?
I love this series by the author and especially the pagan / Celtic aspect. It’s a great story and a great addition to the series. This series stands by itself but it’s useful to read other series by the author. Highly recommended.
This sequel follows on immediately from the last book. Which is awesome! The continuation of this family carries on the emotional Roller-coaster ride and fantastic plot that the first book had. The beautiful and traditional celtic aspects just make this feel more real.
What can I say other than another awesome read. This book continues from the first in the series and must be read in order. Loved the dynamics, secrets, baddies and the love. All in all a great read and I highly recommend.
The writing needs some editing. The story line was okay, but you have to read it several times to understand what the author meant. The Kaplan family goes through a lot because of one bad apple. Hopefully he's dealt with.
