Book 2 in this Curse of the Blood Moon series, and this picks up right after book 1, Hallow's End, so make sure you've read this first.
Another thrilling witchy read for me, captivating from the start, loving the characters, their lives in Salem and all the magic, mystery and suspense surrounding this story line!
Breena is the second of 3 witchy sisters in this series, she is the hearth witch and with what happened in book 1, she no longer feels safe in her own little cottage. She has grown up with Giles, he is older, but she has always had a crush on him, he is oblivious and she has never let on. But Giles steps up with an offer to let her move in with him - they have always been friends, he also has had feelings for Breena for a long time but keeps them hidden, never thinking he had a chance with her himself.
Breena, Giles and the rest of the coven are still working hard to remove the curse on Hallow's End, but Breena is still having nightmares, maybe the evil that they thought they had got rid of in book 1 is still around a little?
I love this couple, they are so well suited together - Breena is a people pleaser, such a caring and loving soul, but a powerful witch in her own right. She loves Giles and hopes he makes a move on her as she wouldn't know where to start that for herself! Giles is a loving and protective friend to Breena, but again does not think he has much of a chance with her, and tries to keep his desire away from her, until she lets on that she's wants to take their friendship further. He has his own shop in Salem that specialises in crystals and gemstones, which I adore about him.
The threat from the evil entity hots up in this one, with plenty of things going bump in the night, doors slamming and goodness knows what else, enough to keep you on the edge of your seat as you will the coven along in their race against time to defeat it.
A great read from start to finish, a very captivating story line detailing the lives of the witches in the coven which was fascinating to read. Looking forward to the 3rd book in this to see how it all plays out! Highly recommended reading.
