Clive Snow. A man full of secrets. Tall, dark, and dreamy. Ex-military. And more than a little off-limits.
A boss can't date her employee. That would be naughty.
By day, he files my paperwork. By night, well... Let's just say he's the last man I expected to run into at the local you-know-what club.
Off the clock, Clive leads me deeper into a playful world of gags, blindfolds, and... deception. Is Clive really the perfect man he seems to be? Or is our passion just the beginning of the worst mistake of my life?
Pretty Little Thing is a workplace romantic comedy with a brooding ex-military hero, his wealthy boss lady, and enough fire to light your eReader aflame! Start reading to find out why romance lovers can’t get enough of Tabatha Kiss!
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tabatha Kiss is from Chicago, Illinois.
You can probably catch her huddled up in a hoodie, reading a good romance beneath a tree with her trusty husky by her side. She enjoys roller derby, sushi, and is always searching for her forever bad boy.
”Ms. Payne, how do you expect to learn if you never crack open a book?” “I’m your boss,” I stutter. “That wouldn’t be appropriate.” “Not in here, you’re not.” He leans down. “Pick one.”
Well...this was a very refreshing and entertaining read. I loved the author’s unique idea of switching the role. This reminded me bit of Sex and the city show which I love. These rich bitches were fucking hilarious whenever together. Each different from each other but their friendship made them stay together. I honestly would love to be a part of their group. This author can write one hell of a steamy romance and also touch your hearts with the characters. I’m so glad I found this series.
I liked the concept that we have a billionaire CEO who is a woman, Nora Payne and the hero works as a temp under her, Clive Snow, and is younger than her by five years. I’m not gonna lie I have always gone for the books where the hero is a dominating and possessive mostly so I wanted to see how the author was going to work this. Turns out I didn’t have to worry at all, because I loved everything and was surprised in a very good way.
Nora has been under a lot of stress lately that comes with running a company. She launched a dating app which became a huge success. So when she’s unable to find anything that will help her relive stress, her best friend suggests her a BDSM club. Of course she’s reluctant at first and new to all of it. But since she is curious, she agrees to give it a shot. What she doesn’t expect is to run into Clive at the club and learn he’s a Dom. It also doesn’t help that she’s attracted to him.
Strong and confident Nora Payne. I want to ruin her. I want to see her with bruises on her nipples and rug-burn on her knees. I want to watch her plead for release while I have my way with her.
Things get a little awkward the next day. Clive finds it hilarious to watch the ever confident Nora a little embarrassed and flustered. He also has another motive working there, which is to steal clients data but issue is that she takes the list with her to home everyday. He then plans to become her Dom and get close enough to steal it.
Nora was the perfect balance of confident and vulnerable. She’s really strong and witty. She has lots in common with Clive. Once she learns some of the secrets Clive was hiding like the fact he was poor, lived in his car, worked three jobs, she never once thought less of him and only wanted to help him. I loved her independent spirit. I mean why can’t a woman sweep a man off his feet with extravagant gestures. It was nice for a change.
”Please let me come, Mr. Snow,” I whisper. “If I do…” He draws my chin back. “Then, you have to do something for me.” I nod. “Yes.” Clive taps my lips. “If you come, then you have to let me come in your mouth,” he says. “And you’re not allowed to swallow me until we leave this place.” He kisses the corner of my mouth. “Do you understand?” I shudder, completely taken in. “Yes, Mr. Snow.”
Clive was the perfect Dom. He was the right amount of dominant, possessive, sweet, down to earth and caring. I was attracted to his dirty mind and equally dirty talking mouth. I mean who wouldn’t fall in love with him. Life hasn’t been good to this soldier since he served in the army but for a short time which explains his actions. In the end though he did the right thing when he realised how genuine she was and how he was falling for her. I also loved how patient he was with her while getting her used to being a sub.
Clive continues rubbing me with his dick, refusing to slow down. “I told myself, one of these days…” He chuckles. “I’ll fuck her brains out.” I moan, the tension building inside. “She’ll scream for me. Submit to me.” His fingers curl around the chain. “I’ll make her body feel things… she never thought were possible.” I cringe in agony but the pain doesn’t overrun my pleasure. It becomes it. “Mr. Snow,” I beg.
One of the best things about this book was that the concept of BDSM was well explained. The learning seemed really genuine. All the things Nora was going through, seemed realistic. They simply don’t jump straight to the tying up and following commands. You can tell the author did her research. The scenes were really hot and filthy.
”Well, you’re on your own.” “Not necessarily,” Melanie says. “There’s one very obvious omission from your list, Nor.” “Yeah? What’s that?” I ask. She clears her throat and nudges Trix’s arm. “Back me up, cheerleader. Give me a B!” Trix grins. “B!” “Give me a D!” “D!” “Give me an S! M!” “BDSM!” they cry in unison.
Who wouldn’t want friends like them. I mean they are really funny. The other best thing were the secondary characters. There’s Trix who is a mafia heir and feisty, Melanie who is romance novel writer and quirky and then there’s Robbie who is Melanie’s ex husband( is still not over her) and hilarious. Mel and rob’s banter will have you laughing out loud, even separated there’s still chemistry and I’m eager to learn their story.
If you want a book with lots of laughter, silly twists and turns, tons of heat, amazing secondary characters and swoony romance, then this rom-com is for you.
Nora and Clive made this book—I loved them so much!!! These are strong characters who do not back down and that made for some great interactions between them. Then the way their Dom/sub relationship starts is very unique. Clive is down on his luck and is looking for a break so when he comes to work at Nora’s, he was definitely up to no good. At first, Clive had this love/hate relationship with Nora going on but when they meet at a BDSM club, their roles are reversed and then it’s Clive that’s in charge. Nora is this smart, sexy, independent woman who is somewhat of a crossroads in her life. She doesn’t know how to let go and because she is the head of her own company, she finds it hard to let others be in charge so her friend invites her to try the kink club red brick road which is where she finds her intern Clive working and he is in charge and dominant but in a quiet way. Nora and Clive were great together and the chemistry between them was HAWT!! There is several twists and turns that will have you hanging on until the very end. I also enjoyed the secondary characters that were introduced –her BFFs Melanie and Trix and her ex husband Robbie. I cant wait to read their stories. This was quite an entertaining, romantic , passionate, full of angst and intrigue read that kept me hooked from start until end. Ms. Kiss has written a fabulous story of an older woman/younger man romance with a BDSM twist that feels so real and so right. I loved it and look forward to reading more from her with the secondary cast and their books.
My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
As always, Tabatha Kiss did not disappoint in this fun, sexy, and erotic read with light BDSM.
For those who are new to reading BDSM, this might not be light. I love how well-written it is and it appears that this is the first in the series, or it's how I see it since Nora Payne has two other friends and they're the Rich Bitches.
I loved the story. I rarely read about a rich older woman and an average younger man so it's quite refreshing. Add BDSM to the mix and it's spicy all over.
Nora is a successful CEO of a matchmaking app, Little Black Book, because of her knack in setting her friends up with positive results. Clive Snow is a temp in the office and surprise of all surprises, he's a Dom. Since the duality of their roles was mentioned in the description, my interested was piqued and if I didn't have any other stuff to do, I'd have read this in one sitting.
There's mystery, a very exciting conflict, and I love Nora swept Clive away, because, why not?
I love Nora's friends too; there's Melanie and Trix, both crazy and like her, and I'm excited about their stories as well. The friendship is there, how they got each other's backs, and how they made her realize that Clive may be The One.
Guaranteed hot sex scenes, as only Ms Kiss knows how so grab a copy and enjoy.
Sex is hot enough but the bdsm is less than best practises, the third act conflict packed no punch, the grovelling + makeup is the worst I think I've ever read gah
Pretty Little Thing is an entertaining ADULT romp by Tabatha Kiss. Ms. Kiss has provided readers with a well-written book. The best part about this book are the trio of best friends and their hilarious antics. I totally love them. Nora is the creator and CEO of Little Black Book. Clive is a temp in her accounting dept. but when she bumps into him at a BDSM club things heat up. Clive and Nora's story is loaded with drama, laugh-out-loud humor, smokin' hot sexy bits and suspense. I enjoyed reading Pretty Little Thing and look forward to reading more from Tabatha Kiss in the future. Pretty Little Thing is book 1 of the Chicago Nights Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I could not put this book down, from the banter and hilarious conversations and quick quips flying off the pages to the very steamy and sensual scenes, to the amazing characters, to the originality and twist on rich boy, poor woman in its role reversal where Nora is the rich woman and Clive is the poor boy, the continuous flow of the story w/o any gaps or repetition...Pretty Little Thing is a Pretty GREAT Read. Tabatha Kiss has a way of telling a story that makes you feel like you are right there watching from the sidelines and want to join in with the characters. Clive and Nora, what a couple, during the day she’s his boss and during the night, he’s hers as her Dom, a perfect combination with the right balance as Nora explores the Dom/Submissive lifestyle with Clive and he teaches her to trust, to let go, to submit. Then there’s her friends, Melanie, Trix and Robbie who are hilarious when altogether but also best friends who are there for each other through everything. There is more to the story than the BDSM and boss reversals during the days and nights, Clive has his reasons for working at Nora’s company that could ruin everything that they have built together. A story that shouldn’t be missed if you want laughter, steam, amazing characters, amazing story, an ending that will make you gasp and a HEA that I didn’t want to end. *I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
I enjoyed this book so much. It’s funny and sultry and angsty. It’s got all of the things I love best in a romance. However, there’s a little bit of suspense in this book that I felt wasn’t fully tied off by the end. I would have loved to know the outcome of the ‘side hustle’. Particularly who was ultimately behind it and what became of them. Otherwise, I adored the way this book eases into the BDSM lifestyle and how it tackled the discrepancies in Nora and Clive’s ages and their finances head on. I recently read another book with similar discrepancies and it pretended like those issues didn’t exist, so I really appreciated that this one didn’t sweep them under the rug. I haven’t entirely made up my mind yet whether I love or hate Nora’s best friends, but I’m looking forward to reading their stories.
I'm not part of the BDSM scene but I know enough about it to realize that a Dom must develop trust by his sub and for him to still be planning on stealing her livelihood from her is unacceptable. If a man did that to me I'd have his balls, and not in a good way. She must not be a very intuitive business woman to not be wary either of a temp worker, I don't care what he looks like. If she could fall for this, he'll be able to rob her blind and run off with another woman or three. Just not buying it.
This emotionally heat filled romance is about Nora a wealthy CEO and her temp Clive who introduces her to BDSM. Things are not always as there seem in this well written story. Like in real life parts of their lives are revealed slowly as their feeling for each other deepen. Will the secret Clive is keeping tear them apart? Be sure to read this great romantic adventure to find out.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy provided by the author.
I absolutely LOVED Nora and Clive. Both are very strong characters in their own way. The way the Dom/sub relationship starts is unique. While much of their interaction centers on BDSM, their play is quite tame so don't let that be a deterrent to picking this book up. The story line is a little different than you may expect. I enjoyed the opposing role reversal from the standard romance. Nora's the founder of her own company and has the massive bank account. Clive's a temp in her office and is actually working multiple jobs. I love the way his story unfolded for us to see. There's a lot more to Clive than you would imaging at first glance. Their relationship progressed at a natural pace and was a delight to watch. His turmoil when she tries to help him was so genuine that I felt it in my bones. The inevitable "Big moment" had me shaking my head. Nora and Clive's reunion was surprising, but quite fitting for them. I couldn't stop turning the pages of this one, and I'm sure that you'll love it too. As for secondary characters, I absolutely adored Trix, Mel and Robbie. They're such an integral part of Nora's life that it was a joy to get to know them as well as we did. It was the perfect setup for the series. I'm hoping that Roger makes another appearance as well. He cracked me up. I can't wait for the next installment. I received an advanced reader copy of this book for a voluntary and completely honest review.
Another excellent read by Tabatha Kiss! Nora is an independant business woman with crazy success. She's in control all day, every day and she needs a release. She has a great group of friends who meet up every Sunday to drink and forget everything and relax for a while. A friend recommends she go somewhere to help alleviate some of that everyday stress. She's hesitant, but a quick walk through with her friend has her interest piqued. She ends up going by herself and runs into Mr. Snow, who also happens to be her new temp, Clive. Things really spark between them and she has her first BDSM experience. She enjoys herself and Mr. Snow more than she thought she would. The only thing is she doesn't know is the secret Clive is keeping. It gets hot between these two in and out of the club. I love the interactions inside the club. It's hot and oh so sexy. Mr. Snow is unbelievably hot when he is in control. Outside the club their relationship becomes more than just dom/sub. The angst that follows will break your heart right along with them. I love how Clive makes it up to her after a quick talk from Robbie. I highly recommend this story!! I cannot wait for the next book. I loved the secondary characters. All the characters to come to life right away and their friendships and relationships seem so real that you feel as if you've known them for years and are a part of their little group. Definitely pick this story up!
Nora has got it going on. A successful business she built herself, two awesome best friends, and full control over everything in her life. The problem with full control is that it can be a burden, especially if you are alone. When her friends notice how desperately Nora needs to let go of things, they decide to take matters in their own hands. One of them introduces her to the world of kink, and it's just what Nora needs. To become submissive to someone and let them have control is just the kind of thing she never knew she needed. One problem though--her new Dom works for her!
Nora doesn't know what to do.....let the stress keep building until it bursts, or let her employee Clive be the one to set her free. Can they manage to keep those two lives separate or will it all come crashing down?
First off, I absolutely love these three best friends, especially since it reminds me of my friends! The bond they have is awesome, but how they help each other is hilarious. Nora is a self-assured woman, but when Clive enters the picture, he gets to see what she's really like out of her business suit. Their chemistry is instant and with what else is going on in the story, you won't be able to put this book down. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Interesting and entertaining book. I laughed out loud several times with this authors creative and fun writing.
Nora Payne has worked hard to get where she is in her career. Her dating app has made her one of the top three richest women in Chicago. But regardless of all she's accomplished something is missing. Her attraction to her hot, muscled, younger temp isn't helping her level of pressure at work, so when her best friends push her to try a local kink club to see if it will help her de-stress a little she desides to give it a try. The one person she definitely never wants to run into at such a place is exactly the one she does. And once the embarrassment passes it's all about who is in charge and when.
Clive Snow is working three jobs and barely has enough to cover the basics. But he has an ulterior motive for working as a temp at The Black Book. But the more he gets to know his boss the more confused he gets with what his friend insists will be the payout of a life time. Then running into his gorgeous boss at his part time evening job is so unexpected he is left shocked and excited at once. She may be in charge from nine to five but he intends to see just how much she will let go when he is charge.
But secrets have a way of getting out and some choices are unforgivable.
Genre: Romance - Suspense, Comedy, BDSM/Kink, Office Stand Alone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes Book 1 POV: Nora and Clive Steam Level: Kindle melty 5/5
Tabatha Kiss does it again. Pretty Little Thing is the perfect mix of suspense, comedy, and heat. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I had to force myself to put it down to sleep and engage in life activities.
I enjoyed the interplay between Nora and her friends (and I cannot wait for their books). They are smart, sassy, and hilarious. Everyone needs friends like Trix and Melanie.
I also loved the foray into the kink community. Tabatha Kiss treats it with respect and knowledge. Using Nora aa a newbie allowed Miss Kiss to break stereotypes and misconceptions. I wish more books were like this.
Pretty Little Thing reminds me why I enjoy Tabatha Kiss's books as much as I do. If you're looking for a new (to you) author whose books are full of witty, sassy women and the growly alpha men who love them, then definitely pick up Pretty Little Thing (or any Tabatha Kiss book). You'll be glad you did.
I received an advanced copy of this book for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Don't you love it when a book takes you by surprise?
Pretty Little Thing certainly did that for me! This unexpected witty, sexual healing, mysterious, page-turning romance grabbed ahold of me and took me on a spectacular fictional journey with Nora and her two best friends as they wade through the messes in their lives and of course Clive, the man who dares enter to enter Nora Paynes world trying to extending a trusting hand in the BDSM world she is not accustomed too, but he is also her intern at the Company she is owns! Throwing caution to the wind, is she setting herself up for disappointment with the hot intern? I have so much love for this story! While it is BDSM, its light, there is so much going on in the background, a bit of mystery, light angst- but not over the top drama ( THANK YOU ) and smooth sailing storyline, and fresh, witty characters I could not help but love! A sexy, intelligent, funny, lovefest that needs to be read! I cannot wait to read the what comes next from this fantastic beginning!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...
I loved the concept of this book and couldn’t wait to read it and I wasn’t disappointed. We have Nora, the stressed out CEO, looking for something to calm her and we have Clive, her temp, who has a lot of secrets and many jobs. Through her friends Nora finds a BDSM club that may be able to give her what she needs and while there she bumps into her hot temp Clive or should I say Mr Snow. Clive is a complicated man with an ulterior motive that involves Nora and her business. However, things do not go exactly as planned and Clive breaks a big rule in their D/s relationship.
I absolutely loved this book and all the characters especially Robbie and I can’t wait to read more on this group of friends. Mel and Robbie are crazy together and I wonder what will happen with Trixie.
I'm definitely getting addicted to Ms. Kiss' writing for sure which is absolutely spectacular. Going in I had my doubts about liking this trope, younger guy and boss lady's employee and also a Dom. I was not sure about it but oh my I FREAKING LOVED CLIVE. There's just something about the writing that'll make you fall in love with Nora and her friends and Clive, my sweetheart. That man is just so hot and so amazing. How can any girl resist falling for him. Also I'd already read book 3 from this series and fallen in love with Robbie and Melanie but reading about Robbie in this one now just makes me wanna go and reread pretty ever after again. Tabatha for sure writes the best damn heroes and her stories are simply addictive. Loved loved loved this one. 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
4 & 1/2 stars rounded up (BDSM is not my thing). I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader's copy of this book. Wow, the plot to this story pulls you right in, the BDSM plays a big part, but is not over the top, so that I could tolerate it. Boy Clive had me guessing nearly the whole way thru the book of what his back story is, or if he was going to hurt Nora. Nora is a surprise & a delight for a heroine. The way their chemistry combusts together is crazy! Clive does start off with a love/hate thing going on for me, but just because of the way the plot rolls, but once you get thru to a certain point, he’s wonderful for Nora. This flowed well, & there’s enough humor to offset the heavy parts. Well done Tabatha Kiss!
I loved the latest from Tabatha Kiss! Nora Payne is in control of her life, but can't seem to de-stress until her friend introduces her to a kink club and she meets a man who she wants to give control to. Clive enters Nora's world as a temp at her company that she built from the ground up and yet away from the office it will be him in control when they enter a Dom/Sub relationship. There is an instant chemistry between these two and they heat up the pages of this story, but like any good story it's not that simple. When all the truths come out they will have to lay everything out if they want to keep what they have found. I loved Clive and Nora and Tabatha Kiss had me hooked from the first page. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Tabatha Kiss did not disappoint me. I loved this book, it was good to see a woman in the position of boss. I really liked Nora she is smart, confident, in control and knows what she wants. Clive is down on his luck and is looking for a break. Clive is up to no good when he comes to work for Nora. Then he meets her outside of work and the roles are reversed. When Nora and Clive are together I could feel the fireworks. Clive introduces Nora to BDSM but it is pretty mild. In my opinion Tabatha Kiss knows how to write a page turner with hot, steamy sex. She wrote a story with a slow build up to a climax. In my opinion Tabatha Kiss did not disappoint her fans. In my opinion I believe it's worth reading. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
Nora Payne and Clive Snow find each other at a kink club devoted to those who enjoy the dom/sub relationship and BDSM activities. She is looking for some fun to be a break from her stressful career. It is complicated because he works for her company and she didn't want complications. She does want him though and they have some fun exploring together,
I really enjoy the fun aspect of the story as well as the heat. Nora and her friends have some strong bonds. They really share everything. It is so fun to see their interactions. She and Clive definitely have chemistry and their explorations are quite steamy. There is a plot twist that really puts the pressure on their new relationship.
I enjoyed this story! The BDSM aspect definitely plays a part but it's fairly mild, nothing very over the top kinky or hardcore. I liked the characters and the plot. It was fun to read and entertaining. Nora and Clive are both missing something from their life and in the midst of trying to find it they end up in a situation that puts them together. I enjoyed how things played out and thought that it was done well. Even though Clive has an ulterior motive I liked him the whole time. I thought that Nora's friends were great and Robbie is probably one of my favorites. I'd love to get his story! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I loved this story! Tabatha always knows how to pull a reader in, and not let go until you've read the last page. Nora and Clive have such a great dynamic, and their chemistry is off the charts! Nora had to learn to let go, and Clive was just the person to help her with that. Clive had some bad things happen, but he was trying to work his way up. I liked that they had a role reversal between the work place and the bedroom. It made for quite an interesting situation :) I was happy to see things happen they way did. The ending was perfect! Trix and Melanie were awesome secondary characters, and I can't wait to read their stories!
What at first sounds like an office and BDSM fling between CEO Nora and her temp Clive is really quickly becoming so much more… This is a heartfelt, sweet, steamy and kinky romance turned into a crime story at some point (with some really hilarious moments) that I had to read in one go! Both characters feel authentic, any of their emotions so genuine, that you cheer for them the one moment only to feel crushed and heartbroken the next moment! There are some truly unexpected twists now and then that make you even more eager to read on and on!
