When Tatum tells her overbearing mom that she isn’t coming home for Christmas, Mom doesn't take it so well.
But when Tatum's sister breaks the news to their mom two days before Christmas that she wants to bring her new girlfriend home for the holidays, Mom has the worst reaction of all.
Tatum's inner elf rises up and she decides to create the brightest, happiest, pinkest, glitteriest, most loving holiday ever—in her one-bedroom apartment over a Christmas-themed bar. Who cares? It's not where you spend the holiday that matters; it's who you spend it with. Hooray! Tatum's holiday spirit is back in full force.
In fact, she's feeling so cheery that when a stranger accidentally sends her a text to say he's on his way, she kindly texts back to let him know he's reached the wrong number. Sure, she's had a little wine while wrapping presents, so she maybe says a little more. And when he replies? Well, it would be rude not to respond.
Quicker than she can stab herself in the knee with a pair of scissors, she's got a full-fledged flirty text convo going with some random guy who might be a doctor, might be a serial killer . . . might be the perfect addition to her holiday guest list.
And if she happens to extend an invite to a drag queen Mrs. Claus and the vampire throuple from across the street? Hey, the more the merrier, right? ’Tis the season!
Tatum may not have put "sexy stranger" on her Christmas list, but Santa knows what a good girl needs to make her holiday complete.
Light the fireworks and pour the champagne! The naughty list is ready to make merry!
Indie Sparks lives just outside Austin, Texas where she spends her days arguing with her dog about whether or not he really needs to go outside again, and writing strong heroines whose knees go weak for cinnamon roll heroes with dirty mouths and the skills to walk the talk.
She believes steamy rom-coms are the answer. The question is irrelevant.
I'm quickly becoming a fan. Saucy, naughty and the perfect amount of Christmas cheer that had me smiling and swooning over this novella. How awesome would it be to find your dream man over a text message not meant for you? Stranger things have happened!
My mom always says Christmas isn’t a date on a calendar, it’s a feeling. It’s not midnight yet, but I’ve damn sure got a feeling.
It's a Christmas filled with protest. Yet Tatum intends to make it the best one ever even if she's feeling a little stabby. Even her favorite Christmas song is doing her head in. But when she receives a message from an unknown, she can't resist but to play.
Jude is on his way home for Christmas. When he begins exchanging quick witted text messages with a stranger, he never would have imagined everything he could want from a woman is right under his nose. Sometimes you meet that person and it just clicks.
Seeing her eyes glazed like that, watching her hips rock as she watches her juices coat my dick, feeling her hot, tender pussy as she massages it with my hard-on—fuuuuuuck, Christmas definitely came early. And I’m about to do the same if I don’t switch things up.
The messages made me grin and the hookup made me flush. How effortlessly this author turned this into a hot one night stand with depth was impressive. I mean it didn't feel rushed and it was romantic in very little pages. I actually think That on my Merry Way is one of my favorite Christmas stories!
I’m usually skeptical on Xmas themed books because they feel too cheery for my cold, dead heart but this one was perfect. It was cute and funny with just the right amount of holiday spirit.
I’m quickly coming to realize I love Indie Sparks’ humor. I swear I lol with practically every single book of hers, and this was no different.
“How many places have you been kicked out of?” “Never a Walgreens.” “That’s not a number.”
The spice was oh so good 🤌🏻🥵. There was sex positivity, no kink or polyamory shaming, and the MC’s used sex toys! 🥰 I do have one slight critique 😞: I have noticed this before in her books, but some of the spicy scenes weren’t “finished.” By that I mean we didn’t see the characters come. The spice and dirty talk was hot af but then it’d flash forward to them right after they came. I wanted to see the end 🥺.
Both Tatum (FMC) and Jude (MMC) were funny, caring and wonderful. They had instant chemistry, yet it wasn’t just lust. It’s wild considering how they met and how quickly things progressed between them but that goes to show how great of a writer Ms. Sparks is to build chemistry between these characters who met from texting the wrong number. Skills.
I’m so here for it if the author wants to write a novella for each of the holidays/seasons. 👀
Such an amazing read, so happy to have picked this up as I say goodbye to the holidays. Now I can walk around with a smile on my face because this book was so stinkin’ cute.
To start, one of the best dedications I've read in a book in a long time! It set the scene for an extremely funny and witty tale of celebrations and the family we make and choose to include in our lives. The tempering of the instalove with the epilogue was really well done and I hope many of the side characters get their own stories!
ARC received and honest review given. Pass the Doritos.
Need a quick, spicy Christmas read? Look no farther! This was super spicy, complete strangers, all round good time. Perfect for a one sitting type of read!
This was a really quick, cute, funny, and spicy christmas read. I loved Indie Sparks’ humor, the spice and dirty talk was hot af. Jude and Tatum went from strangers to lovers and their chemistry was off the charts. I loved how quickly things developed between the characters who met from texting the wrong number.
What to expect: 💗 Christmas 💗 Strangers to Lovers 💗 Instalust 💗 Mistaken Identity
This was a really fast read but it was so good. Probably gonna be one of my favorite smutty Christmas books!!!!
Tatum and Judes chemistry was off the charts. Even when they were just texting each other u can feel how well they go together. The book in general was really sweet. I loved seeing how open and sweet Tatum is.
Even with it being a novella we still get some background info on them plus we also get to meet a couple of other side characters. Overall this book was amazing. If u are a fan of rom-coms this is ur book.
There was a bunch of sweet, funny moments and some spicy ones. For such a short book it didn't feel rushed at all which I love.
Predominantly taking place over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, this book had a meet-cute I smiled over and great banter and chemistry between the two MCs.
At around 75 minutes, it’s a quick and joyful read that features a text delivered to the wrong person, who naturally turns out to be the right person after all. Sigh. The telecommunication angels got it right again.
The only part that niggled me was the epilogue. I think I’ve mentioned this in a previous review of mine and yet again, here’s another example where I don’t feel it necessarily added anything to the story.
Overall, it’s 💛💛💛💛 of frivolity and friskiness, with a forgivable ending.
The perfect Fun Smutty Christmas Novella. If you want some fun with your naughty this is your book.
As soon as I read the dedication I already knew I was gonna love this book. It's the perfect mix of getting you in the mood for all things Christmas. This author is amazing at bringing these quirky unique characters to life and giving you all the feels along the way.
I loved that this book is a fun sexy read but gives you the perfect vibe of making the holidays with the people you choose to celebrate with being that family, friends, or even a wrong text stranger. Tatum and Jude have off the charts chemistry and that insta-love feelings from the start. These two are perfectly matched and made their story so much fun to read along the way. A text gone wrong has never been more fun, so buckle up and prepare to have a few laughs and naughty moments with these two!
This was hands down my favorite smutty Christmas read. I didn't want this one to end. You will definitely fall in love with these two and all the side characters that pop in also. I highly recommend this book and this author, because she never disappoints and her stories are amazing! This was such a fun, easy to read book that once it's over you just want to re-read it again.
So if you need a pick me up or needing some fun and naughty to help get you in the mood for all the upcoming holiday celebrations, make sure you grab this book! All I can say is this is a definite must read that leaves you with that warm smilingly feeling after you finish it. A 5+ stars Christmas read this year!!
If you are looking for a short, steamy, instalove holiday (Christmas) romance then look no further. Indie Sparks has a quick wit about her, and a way of making you laugh while swooning all throughout a storyline.
Tatum (FMC) and Jude (MMC) are complete strangers when our story starts; then when they meet the debauchery begins. Their connections, and attraction are off the charts. What may have started out as a wrong number text, turned into chemistry that was off the charts! These two seem to be complete opposite, yet the same and for a quick instalove read the pacing was amazing.
There were some parts where I am was questioning Tatum's sanity, but it all worked out in the end. As a whole this short, laughter riddled holiday novel brought the steam. I, personally, would give it a three-point-five chili peppers out of five chili peppers (please, remember there is no universal scale so this may be more or less for you).
As a whole watching Tatum's lackluster Christmas Eve turned into being so much more. And Jude's night of torture to a night of pleasure and more. These two absolutely put the faith and magic of the season into a nice romcom that leaves you fanning yourself. This is a must read for this Holiday Season!
I was provided an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
On My Merry Way by Indie Sparks is a sweet contemporary romance for the holidays. Tatum is hosting her first-holiday party for her sister and her partner. The evening before, she received a text meant for someone else. She replies, starting up a conversation with mystery man Jude. Jude didn't want to meet his ex but was trying to be polite. However, when he discovers the intriguing mystery woman that has made his evening bearable lives in an apartment upstairs, he is determined to meet her. Will the sparks they are feeling heat up the holiday or fizzle
once they meet.
I loved the characters in this story. Tatum is wild, spontaneous, and caring. The banter between Tatum and Jude is perfect. I love how they hit it off and the immediate comfort they find in one another. The cast of inclusive characters is the perfect touch for the last-minute gathering to make new friends.
I rate On Merry Way 5 out of 5 stars. It was a perfect mix of excitement, sweetness, and spice. The story kept me smiling and laughing while reading, and afterward, I was left with a warm fuzzy feeling. I definitely will be reading more by Indie Sparks! If you love feel-good and funny instant romances, this is a must-read for the holidays!
Tatum is trying to pull off the perfect Christmas celebration for her sister. She's decking the halls and making her home merry when she receives a random text message from a stranger. The tone of the message causes Tatum to respond and she's met with an unexpected Christmas Eve companion.
Jude is traveling home to see his family for the holidays. He accidentally texts Tatum about a guilt trip he's taking and is quickly swept away with her witty banter and gorgeous Christmas stockings.
Can two strangers make a meet cute into more? Sparks will fly in this delightful rom com.
This is the perfect, Holiday romance to add to your list. I devoured this in one sitting. As with all of Indie's work, the dialogue is fast and flirty. The characters are an absolute delight and I want to spend every holiday at their house.
I enjoyed this book. This is my first book by the author. I will have to check out her other works. This is a short holiday story. Lots of steam and sexy scenes. If you like Instalust and mistaking identity then this one’s for you. Tatum is getting ready for her Christmas with her sister and her girlfriend at Tatum’s house. Tatum lives over a bar and it’s Christmas Eve and things are getting crazy downstairs. She wrapping gifts when her phone goes off. It’s a text message from an unknown number. They say they are on their merry way. So Tatum decides she’s going to answer back. They start talking. Tatum has an accident with a pair of scissors. She sends a picture to the person on the phone. He tells her he’s a doctor and she needs stitches. They continue texting. She decides she wants to invite him to her Christmas party. Read the book to find out what happens when these two get together.
When Tatum receives a text from an unknown number she decides to reply hoping to add some excitement to her lackluster Christmas Eve. Jude doesn't quite know why he keeps texting the flirty stranger but when they coincidently find themselves in the same city, he quickly accepts the invitation into her apartment. I usually don't read rom-coms, especially of the novella type but this had me laughing out loud so much that I'm immediately moving up all the rom-coms on my TBR to the top of the list. Tatum and Jude are so charming and flirty, and they have plenty of chemistry in and outside the bedroom. Actually, all of my favorite moments between them happen outside the bedroom but don't worry, the spice was there, and it was hot. It may not be the spiciest novella I've read, but it's definitely one of the most fun!
What can possibly go wrong when a stranger texts you instead of who they meant to text? Tatum just really could care less. I mean after some rose and wrapping presents while listening to people sing the same song over and over in the bar below, what could it hurt to text back? It is Christmas Eve after all. May as well be friendly, right?! Jude was not looking forward to his night. Ugh! Why did he have to give in and agree to meet his ex when he got into town? It’s Christmas Eve and he really wants nothing to do with her. But this stranger that just texted back. What harm can come from some fun banter?
This is is a fun and sexy little Christmas story. I really enjoyed the easy way everything flowed. I would love to have a Christmas like they put together. May need to try it out sometime.
“I CANNOT BELIEVE I’VE let a stranger into my apartment . No, not let— invited, basically led him by the hand up the stairs and through my door, pulling a carry-on behind him that’s big enough to hold his extensive ligament-severing blade collection. True crime podcasts be damned.”
She’s struck gold again! Each book I read I fall in love a little bit more.
Tatum is the ultimate sunshine FMC, quirky and fun. Jude is sweet but maybe a little bit on the broody side but oh my, get your fans ready because this man can sure turn up the heat.
For a short novella there is so much packed in we get several steamy scenes, character builder and back story, warm fuzzy feelings and festive cheer! I mean what more can you want, other than your own romance story to be written by Indie?!
I went into this one purely based on the cover and it looked like a lot of fun – and it was!
A quick novella where a stranger means to text his ex but ends up texting a stranger, things spiral pretty quickly. Realizing they’re actually in the same place, they decide to meet up, and the chemistry that occurred through their messages is only stronger in person.
Forget the fact that they barely know each other, it’s Christmas, and Tatum is working on making her own magic this year – and her new texting buddy seems to be the perfect addition.
This novella was a blast and I honestly want novellas for all of the side characters we met along the way.
Tropes: - holiday novella - strangers to lovers - found family
Honestly if you're looking for a short sweet smutty Christmas Novella this is for you.
If smut isn't your thing then you wouldn't enjoy this read.
Its meant to be short and sweet so dont be surprised with the page number thats how a novella is. Honestly i wanted more, the couple themselves were so cute. Its an insta love/ rom com/ christmas holiday romance that will tick all your boxes.
What would you do if you accidentally got a text message from a stranger on Christmas Eve? Would you flirt back? Or would you end the conversation with 'wrong number?' Tatum is by far the woman i wish i was (although i'm not single) flirting shamelessly was never my strong suit.
This is a super quick read but it brings plenty of laughs, spice, tropes, silliness and holiday cheer!
Tatum is rebelling against her mother and planning an all out junk food, pink, and friends and sister party for Christmas Day. When she randomly gets a text from an unknown number she decides to keep the conversation going. Little does she know the guy is very close by…like in the bar below her house! This is a Insta love story for sure! I laughed at the wittiness and the silly little scenarios. And then I get all tingly with the spicy scenes!
♥️ Insta Love ♥️ Voyuer ♥️ Toy Play ♥️ 3.5 🌶 ♥️ Meet Cute ♥️ Christmas Themed
On My Merry Way is the story of Tatum and Jude. Tatum is a single woman who lives above a bar. She is getting ready for Christmas with her sister when her phone receives a text message from a number she doesn’t know. She decides to take a risk and respond not knowing who it could be. They start having a conversation. She ends up finding out that Jude is at the bar underneath her apartment. She decides to go downstairs and invite him upstairs to her apartment. They continued their conversation went from there. Tatum decided to invite more people to her house for Christmas. This is one of the most entertaining, hilarious, steamy books I have read in a while. I can’t wait for the next one that Indie comes up with. ❤️❤️❤️
This is a cute, extra steamy, fun Christmas Novella. When Jude sends a text to the wrong number he gets Tatum who decides against her better judgement to text him back. When they find out they are in the same place they get together and it’s a pretty instant connection from there. Tatum is quirky and outspoken and just what Jude needed this holiday season.
This book is short but filled with a storyline that will have you swooning and laughing throughout. It is definitely higher on the spice level so if you are looking for a quick, smutty Christmas read you will love this.
This was a super short, quick, Christmas read. And I absolutely loved it. It was fun, and cute, and definitely had the spice. Tatum and Jude meet through a wrong number text message. And even through the text, there is an instant connection. And when these two finally see each other face to face, it’s like they’ve known each other forever. They have chemistry, you definitely hope they can make a relationship of it. If you’re looking for a short, fun, book to curl up with for the holidays, I definitely recommend this one.
This book is a dirty holiday book that I’m sure you’ll enjoy! I loved the writing and the world built inside. The spicy scenes do not disappoint and leave you wanting more! My only quirk is I’m a sucker for a holiday sappy story. While this gives you romance and more, I love that swept off her feet Christmas Hallmark kind of story. But, I have read a few out of the box and this one is one of my favorites!! I love indie’s writing style and her books never disappoint! I definitely recommend this book!!
Who knew a mistake would lead to the best night ever for Tatum and Jude. Where to start with this book. This was a Christmas themed novella with lots of spice and instalove but it works with Tatum’s personality. It was so freaking cute and had me laughing the whole time, except when I was fanning myself 🥵. Tatum is so quirky and fun it was a great balance to Jude who is a little more serious but has no problem letting go. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quick fun read. Indie hit it out of the park with this one, it’s the first by this author for me but won’t be the last.
After telling her mum she won't be coming home for Christmas, Tatum is having her sister and friends over to celebrate Christmas. When she is getting presents wrapped on Christmas eve she receives a text from a stranger to say he is on his way. Tatum replies to him and the messages keep going back and forward all evening, until she discovers he's in the bar under her apartment. Has Santa left her an early Christmas present....
Tatum is busy wrapping gifts on Christmas eve and she gets a random text from a no number. She answers back saying wrong number and next thing you know they are chatting away. When she stabs herself with scissors she shows her new texting friend and happens to be a doctor. Jude is on his way to the local bar in his home town meeting up with his ex girlfriend. When he gets a text from his random number person that she lives above the bar they are at. Tatum and Jude hit it off and start a one night of fun. What happens when things get delayed? What happens when you have great chemistry? What happens when you have a silly kid themed Christmas?
I had a great freaking time with this book! I loved Jude and Tatum so much they were so much fun! I really loved what Tatum did for her sister and what the food theme was for Christmas. I love that Tatum also included everyone around the neighborhood.
This was my first book from this author an it was nice. I loved Tatum she’s a carefree person who always wants to include everyone an Jude is a guy who is the same sorta. The way they meet is hilarious though text wrong number sort of thing. The fast pace of the book fits very well you get sucked in an read it all before you even realize you have. It’s a cute story an I absolutely love the cover. Maybe we’ll see more of them from the author in more books. It’s funny how the sisters girlfriend knew who Jude was when she saw him it’s like a funny meet cute thing I loved the book regardless.
