When a notorious criminal escapes during an operation that took months of planning, Jason Harper, one of the FBI’s finest agents, is left speculating how it all went wrong. After weeks of being undercover, Jason takes the failure of the operation hard.

Jason’s frustration soon eases when a relationship with Alexia Mason, a member of his team and long-time object of his desires, suddenly becomes a possibility. But when a new case is handed to him and his team, Jason and Alexia discover that working together while dating will be no easy task.

With four women missing, feared kidnapped, it’s a race against time to find them. But for Jason, the case becomes personal as more information comes to light, and it becomes clear all the women have a connection to Alexia. With no evidence and no obvious suspects in this high-profile case, the stakes become even higher when two of the women turn up dead.

As the case unfolds, Jason makes it clear that Alexia is his top priority. But is he really prepared to risk his career, and maybe even his life, to keep her safe?

Nicky is a British author from the West Midlands, England. When she's not writing, she loves running, musical theatre, singing, and of course, reading. She has a fondness for mint chocolate, Italian food, and a nice medium-rare steak with all the trimmings.

Writing has always been something I've been interested in. I can go right back to my school days and think about how much I enjoyed my Creative Writing classes.

I was first published when I was fourteen when a poem I wrote about a cat was featured in a charity poetry book. I still have my copy of that book. I was so proud.

It wasn't until 2014 that I began to think I could actually write novels. The characters started speaking to me, resulting in my first book, Heart and Soul.

Since then, I have published a number of novels and novellas, with lots more to come.

Picked this book up at an author signing event and it sounded like a really interesting thriller with the FBI in search of a kidnapper and it did elude to a romantic side to the story and it made me think of the series Bones and so figured would be right up my street.

I read the book in one go, it was engaging and Agent Harper definitely sounded hot and like the perfect guy, a lot like Booth from Bones! I was a little disappointed that the book seemed to be more about Harper and Alexia and found some of that story repeated a few times. I would have liked to have read more on the crime, the kidnapper, the women kidnapped etc as the books synopsis made it sound like that was the main focus of the book but was more a side line really.

Saying that I did find I enjoyed the book and liked the characters so taking aside the synopsis and just judging the book from reading it I would recommend it 😀

4.5 stars... I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the release of book 2. I loved Jason and Alexia's relationship. They fit well together. I also loved reading the crime side to this book. The only thing that would have made this book better, is if the case was mentioned all the way through the book. Instead of the main focus being on Jason and Alexia's relationship. The flashbacks were a nice touch too. It gave you more insight on certain events, which I loved. Overall this was a great read and I would definitely recommend this book to others.

What a great read! I love when a book keeps you on the edge of your seat guessing what will happen next. This story about Lucas, an FBI Agent and Alexia, a FBI Analyst, definitely is a page turner. While working together for two years, they never acted upon their attraction to each other until one day Lucas finally asked her out. In the meantime they are also working together on a kidnapping case that gets a little too close to home. This was a truly refreshing read as they explore their relationship both personally and professionally. Not to mention the major chemistry these two have! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next! Do yourself a favor and read this book!

This was my first read by this author and I can say I really enjoyed reading it... was easy to get into with good believable characters and good storyline.
Alexia and Jason have worked together for 2 years and kept their feelings about each other to themselves.. or so they think anyway!
Being FBI Agents means they can't have a relationship together so they do their best to not get involved but how long will they be able to keep that up for?
Will def read book 2 when it comes out.

Its a rollercoaster ride that keeps you gripped. The story is really well written and definitely worth 5 stars. Can't wait for book two.
