It’s the end of the world as you know it…

At least it will be, if my dear despicable mum gets her way. I, however, happen to be quite fond of some of the toys I’ve discovered on this plane. Ma petite monstre, for starters.

But the plague is spreading, taking no prisoners, and I’m trapped and at the mercy of a deal I made with Rosie. If Pestilence succeeds, I’ll lose everything I’ve rightfully stolen.

What a waste that would be.

Then I’d be left in the cold and my mate would end up with them.

Her vampire duke.
Her over-protective wolf.
Her cocky shifter.
Her human hybrid.

That just won’t do. Not without her delectable demon topping the list. That’s right. Topping.

I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to redeem myself in her eyes, not after everything I’ve done. I am the villain of this story, after all. What? I did warn you. It’s not my fault you didn’t believe me.

But I’ll let you in on a little secret about villains: They’re a whole lot of fun, and if you’re not willing to lie, possess, or steal for the things you want, well can you even say you deserve them?

Unfortunately, if mummy wins, none of that matters and we all lose.

So, I suppose I’ll have to do what I can to stop the Apocalypse if I want to enjoy the prize I worked so hard to claim.

You don’t have to thank me.

I’m not doing it for you.

WARNING: The Mate Games: Pestilence is a spicy why choose series that is sure to set your…heart…on fire. If you’re not a fan of grumpy dukes with a penchant for pain, purple demons with fancy body parts, nosy hackers with boundary issues, angsty wolf shifters who like to share, sword crossing, and plenty of group activities, this one’s not for you. But if it is…welcome back to The Mate Games, we’ve been waiting for you.

✅ Reverse harem / Polyamorous relationship
✅ Smut
✅ Multiple POVs
✅ Characters
✅ Magic / Shifters / Vampires / Demons
✅ Plot
✅(🆗) Pace

“Jesus,” Asher whispered, catching up to me. “You three look like you took the scenic route but got smacked in the face by every tree on the way here.”

Pestilence’s plan is well in motion, and Rosie and her men have to find a way to destroy her before she can start the Apocalypse and kill everyone. With Remi being infected with a deadly disease no one knows how to cure, and Pan and Asher still being stuck in the same body, Rosie and her crew have a lot of things to figure out, and not a lot of time to do it.

The plot is well-developed, and I was really into it, yet I found it harder to remain engaged near the middle of the book. Maybe it’s just because I didn’t have a lot of time to read lately, but I struggled a little between the 35% and the 60% mark. I also found that the final confrontation was a little anticlimactic. I was expecting something more intense. I find that the stakes were higher in the first half of the book when the gang was trying to heal Remi than at the end when they were fighting Pestilence… Overall it was still a great book, but it took me longer to finish than the other books in the series.

“I’m glad you think so. Somehow I doubt you’d feel the same if you were the one who suddenly discovered you had to spend the rest of your life playing Dr. Demon and Mr. Jackass.”

Pan and Asher are still stuck in the same body, and they are fighting to get control over each other. I enjoyed reading their internal dialogues, and seeing how they both warm up to the other. We also finally got some answers about Asher’s genealogy and mysterious powers, and I liked that he also worked on his powers in this book, and was able to help others with them. It was not all about Rosie’s powers and her becoming super strong, it was a team effort.

Pan got his redemption arc in this final book, and while he’s not close to being my favorite member of the harem, I kind of like him now I guess… He changed a lot since the beginning of this series, and he showed more feelings and even empathy at times in this book. He earned his place at Rosie’s side, and the authors did a good job with his character development. He changed a lot, but it was not too sudden or too convenient. It was a slow and logical progress considering everything that was happening.

We discovered in the previous book that Rosie was a Queen, meaning she had some special abilities and was the only one standing a chance at stopping Pestilence before it was too late. We learned a little more in this book about what it means to be a Queen, but I would have loved even more details about the past Queens, and how exactly they came to exist. From what I understood, Rosie became a Queen because she had 5 mates, but is that it? You need a dire situation and a vampire with 5 mates and they automatically become a queen? That part is still unclear to me.

“I don’t believe we’ve met, but you helped my brother. I’m—”
“Roslyn Blackthorne,” Gabriel finished for her.
“Donoghue.”
“Mercer,” Remi singsonged.
“Hells bells, here we go again,” Pan groused.
“You g-get used t-to it.”
“Do you really?”
“No,” Ben said with a heavy sigh, answering Pan but keeping his eyes locked on the heavenly interloper as if he wasn’t sure yet whether he trusted the guy. “But it’s over f-faster if you j-just let it h-happen.”

The bonds between the guys are getting stronger in this book. Gavin remains a little removed from the rest of them by choice, but we can see that he warmed up to them, and he likes them, even if he tries his best to hide it. Pan was the odd one out since he was a demon that took over Asher’s body and is Pestilence’s son on top of it, but as the story progressed, he showed Rosie and the guys that he didn’t want to hurt them, and that he was in their team. He also learned to coexist with this weird group and developed feelings for them, even if it annoyed and horrified him to admit that he cared for them, even if it was only a little bit. By the end of the series, they start to feel like a family, instead of a bunch of men forced to cohabit because they all love the same woman.

There are some intense and spicy scenes in this book, and I love that it’s not always about Rosie and her mates. Asher and Remi also have some moments together. Remi and Ben remain my favorites in the harem. Their vibe is so different, but they are both just so amazing and warm. Remi’s jokes and aloof personality were always there to try to lighten the dire situations, and Ben is just a sweetheart with all his care and devotion, but he is also fiercely protective, and I loved seeing his alpha fighter side at the end of the book.

“So you’ve already selected your players, then?” Famine asked, intrigued despite herself.
“Oh yes, they’re being rounded up now.” Death began listing them off on her fingers. “The Beast, The Pirate, The God, The Villain, and of course my leading lady, The Writer.”

The next series in this world will also be a reverse harem, but this time it’s Death’s turn to try to start the Apocalypse. From what she says in the epilogue, I expect the characters in the next series to be wilder and to have a darker vibe, and I am super excited for it, even though it doesn’t come out until next January.

This was the book I wanted the first three to be!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 🙂🥰😎🥹😋
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Duet Narration ✨Full Cast✨

During the previous book, I found myself getting a bit bored of the series. I think maybe this series might have been one book too long. However, I did really enjoy this book. I think one reason was that all of Rosie’s men were at odds in the earlier books, especially with the demon Pan (short for Pandemic), who was constantly drawn to Rosie even though he was working for his mother, Pestilence who wanted to jump start the apocalypse. I like it in reverse harem romances when the female and all her males are a tight knit group, more of a family and they became that in this book. It ended up being them against the forces set to destroy everything.

I loved the fact that each of the men had their own distinct personalities and kinks. Not to mention the fact that they were various paranormal creatures (wolf shifters, vampires, and demons). I even liked Gavin and Pan, who were both a bit theatrical. There was a ton of steam, which I expected for a reverse harem, and a bunch of action as well, with some harrowing situations and unforeseen events.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via duet narration with a full cast of great narrators. J.F. Harding, Jacob Morgan, James Joseph, John Hartley, Stella Hunter, and Teddy Hamilton narrated it and a few of them bothered me in previous books, but I really appreciated every one of them in this installment. It may have helped that I waited a few days between the last book and this one, but I really enjoyed it.

This one isn't a full five stars, more like 4.5, just because I felt like the stakes were higher for some moments earlier in the book than they were for the ending battle. It was still an excellent conclusion though, one that kept me wanting to readreadread until I finished it.

Speaking of, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER??? The second series, which means only two more to go...and the worst part is we won't be getting any more Mate Games until NEXT YEAR!!! BOOOOOOOO.

IT'S ONLY MAY, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH MY LIFE???

I know Meg & Kim have a contemporary RH coming meanwhile, so I guess WE WILL BE FED. I actually am not that big of a fan of contemporary RH books (they don't work as well in my brain as fantasy ones do), but I trust these two to make it work. Also cowboys? Yes, count me in.

Ok now, the one thing everyone's been waiting for...my opinion on Pan after his redemption arc.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.

I don't hate him anymore.

EVERYONE CHEER.

He's almost...endearing by the end??? I have no idea how that happened. But okay, I'm giving credit where credit is due, he did his part, he paid for his (many) sins, I forgive him now, everyone's happy.

BUT! He's still my least favourite mate. I think he could've jumped over Gavin, if Gavin didn't get some development. So my final mate ranking is staying the same as it was.

I loved seeing Asher and Ben develop too, Asher grew into his new self, and Ben found the courage to protect his friends. Remi is still Remi, still my fav munchkin, and Rosie is brave, but she's been brave since the start.

In this book everyone is really starting to feel like a family, with how they're getting along, it's so precious. I really love all of them (yes, even Captain Aubergine).

This also makes their times together even more fun to read, see guys, isn't it better when you actually like each other?

Also the banter/humour, top notch. You can always count on Kim & Meg to make you smile, laugh, giggle while reading. I love stepping into their world and feeling like I just came home. I don't want to part with these characters, and I never will.

The audiobook was great as always, narrators perfect etc etc. But Stella sounded a bit different this time around, I can't really put my finger on it, it just wasn't exactly the same as before.

Like for example for the past several books I had no problem distinguishing the female characters speaking (she voices all of them), but in this one it was a bit confusing (I switched between just listening and reading & listening so in those parts where I was just listening I was like wait a second who's speaking now?).

It wasn't a huge deal though, and it could just be my ears being weird.

And yeah, there we go, another game finished, a new one brewing on the horizon...I am super excited for it because I have a thing for supernatural prisons...and a pirate? Made for me, mhm.

*Thank you to the authors for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

Kudos to the authors, they made me feel for a demon. And not a cute one that’s always been nice. Pan’s development arc is the most interesting in this round of the Mate Games for sure, doing a full 180° while retaining his snark.

But all the characters have done a little grow up since the first book. I felt it wasn’t as progressive as the authors expected, some of it coming as a little surprising–like Asher and Gavin’s bonding that happens mostly off screen. Yet I can’t deny they all were a bit different than when I first met them in the series, and it’s undoubtedly the reason why Rosie manages to win in the end. They surely couldn’t have teamed up that way at the beginning. Monsters assemble!

So yeah, we come to the final confrontation at the end of the book. A tiny bit anticlimactic, in my opinion. Yet the authors manage to include a couple of powerful moves, showing as much character development as action in a long fighting scene. My main complaint is that they never wrote Pestilence as a real threat, and that doesn’t change in the big finale. All her moves that are at first deemed smart, like keeping people from spilling their secret arrangement with her, are easily dismissed.

The authors added a few plot twists or unexpected threats that kept me on the edge of my seat. The pace wasn’t too bad, with a good balance between intimate–not all of the sexy kind–scenes and action scenes, and a decent acceleration toward the end. As for the really sexy, it’s kinky and fun and sometimes even emotional. Well done.

Nothing to say about the narration. All the narrators are exceptionally good at their characters and all their nuances. Maybe two female narrators would have been a good idea, as there are many MANY female characters and just the one narrator, and some scenes were especially confusing.

I didn’t enjoy this series as the previous one, but it was still quite good and sexy. I can’t wait to see what the next round of the Mate Games will bring.

Quickie

- Series: The mate games: Pestilence #4 (linked to another series by the same authors, directly follows the previous book)
- Hashtags: #paranormal romance #reverse harem #werewolf #vampire #human #demon #new adult #kinks #bisexual #virgin #twins
- Triggers: various kinks, violence and death

- Hotness: 5+++/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + the authors managed to make me feel for Pan
- – the grand finale felt rushed

Lost To The Moon by Meg Anne and K. Loraine is a why choose paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, Stella Hunter, James Joseph, and Jacob Morgan. This is the fourth book in The Mate Games: Pestilence series.

I absolutely love the Mate Games World! Meg and Kim do an amazing job pulling me into the story. I can't help but binge in each book in one sitting. I love that we got Pan, Remi, Ben, Gavin, Rosie, Asher, and Lilith's points of views throughout the book. It really brings the story to life.

I can't wait for the next spin-off series The Mate Games: Death that will be releasing in January 2024.

I absolutely love that they do a full cast of narrators for this series. It really brings the story to life. You can't help but binge the audiobook in one sitting.

I would recommend this series if you like paranormal romances, why choose romances, or fated mate's romances.

Book: Lost to the Moon
Read By: Ebook and Audio
Author: K. Loranine and Meg Anne
Genre: Reverse Harem, Dark Romance, Fantasy
Main Characters: Rosie, Ben, Remy, Pan, Asher and Gavin
Recommend: Yes
Spice: 🌶️️ 🌶️️ 🌶️️ 🌶️️ 🌶️️
Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:

Its so bitter sweet when. Good series finishes.
I loved this series, like im re reading it again right now.

“Tell Remi I’m so fucking proud of him. When this is over, and the moon is back where she belongs, promise me you’ll look up at her and think of me. And know that I’ll be right there, looking back down at you. I love you, sugar. Always.”

This book follows Rosie and her men while the end of the world is upon them with the horse women. Rosie and her men all file into line behind her fully, pan gives in to his love for Rosie, Ben and Remy continue to follow Rosie though anything, Gavin starts to show a much sweeter and kind side of himself to her, Asher finds out his heritage and true form. The book ends with Rosie getting her Lady bits back and is able to make babies again.

“Knot her. Breed her. Give her our pups.”

The smut in this series is top shelf, perfect. I love MMMFMM. But im obsessed when there is a relationship between two men within the relationship. It makes it hotter and much more exciting to read.

“When did I ask for a gentleman? The rule is, gentleman in the streets, beast in the sheets, Ben.”

The audio is amazing! Its fully cast and duet. Makes the read alot more Spicy and enjoyable.

“Oh shit, I’ll grab more lube,” Remi said, his footsteps now going in the opposite direction. “Remi, you know we keep it stocked,” Asher said. “Yeah, but not with the good kind.” “There’s a g-good kind of lube?” I asked. “He’s a fan of the one Lilith gave us.”

Highly recommend.

Naturally as the final book in the series, there are some pretty high expectations and it met every single one of them. Lost to the Moon is a wonderfully crafted finale which neatly ties up all the threads across the series and leads to a nail biting showdown battle for the fate of the world....again.

This book is also one giant love letter to the hardcore fans; from being sprinkled with so many in-jokes and references to a truly decadent aural experience for those RH fans waiting patiently for some truly spicy group scenes which supernova hot! This is pure paranormal romance joy and every single moment is addictive. Meg and Kim have turned a whole array of fans into addicts for their stories and bred their own legion of insatiable Queens who are just salivating for MORE. Bring on Round Three.

But back to this story, the key to the success of this series lies in the characters. The authors have made them all so real and unique that you cannot help but find yourself caring about them. They go one step further with their exceptionally ingenious casting of narrators to elevate this so much that you can't ever imagine anyone else's voice but theirs. I adore these characters and this is the book where you see all of their journeys in the spotlight but also it is the book when you finally see them all figure out their intertwining relationships as a group and it makes for some surprising and adorable results.

Our beloved heroine Rosie is no longer the same timid girl we met in Deal who was running away from everything she knew. Our girl is now a proud and determined Queen and ready to pick up the mantle to save the world from the oncoming apocalypse. She still radiates her natural kindness and caring nature and I feel a kindred connection to her. She puts too much pressure on herself and tries to please everyone but in the end, when it really counts she is the bravest of them all. I love her so much and my ultimate aural goddess, Stella Hunter, is unparalleled in bringing her to life and all of the other female characters. She is an unstoppable force and I am obsessed with listening to her.

Pan, everyone's favourite sexy purple Demon, is the one who goes on the biggest journey over the course of this book. Captain Aubergine fans will rejoice in getting to him up to his antics with the rest of the group and seeing where his loyalties will lie in the final fight for the end of the world. James Joseph is clearly having the best time of his life bringing this anti-hero to life, only his sultry tones and wicked comic timing can do him justice.

Gavin, our sadist vampire has softened slightly and starting to open up and....dare I say it....make some friends. But he at the same time he is still the ultimate sexy Dom and does not disappoint in taking control of those spicy scenes I was talking about. John Hartley needs some kind of health warning attached to him with that dark growly decadent voice he puts on for our Duke of Tears and the finally long awaited Gavin and Pan scenes (aka Brit Off) are to DIE FOR!!! Another treat just for the audio fans.

Remi is still the adorable cheeky excitable will not shut up Kingston 2.0 shifter that we just love and Jacob Morgan is just magical at bringing him to life. This character was clearly written for him in mind and it gives him the opportunity to showcase his emotional range from silly and flirtatious to vulnerable and heartfelt to full on growly Alpha protector mode. And talk about charm...ah no wonder Rosie and Asher didn't stand a chance.

Speaking of Asher, he is another one who goes on an epic journey in this book. He has grown so much for the sarcastic and bitter loner hacker in Book 1 to finding his true family and place within the group. There are some further revelations in this one that shed some light on his history and its a beautiful arc towards the end. I also love the continuing love affair of Asher and Remi after the brutal events of Captive and let's just say #Jeddy fans will not be disappointed. Teddy Hamilton is a delight to listen to in this role.

Finally, but by no means least, we have my beloved Bently Mercer. The damaged but fiercely protective and loyal Alpha shifter who just stole my heart from Book 1. He is put through hell over the course of this series, forced to relive childhood trauma and desparately trying to protect his brother and mate and well......the events of Captive....I'm still to raw and can't talk about it. But he is also, in my eyes, the most sexy of the group. Daddy Ben knows how to keep Rosie satisfied and add in the alpha growl tones of J.F Harding and I am dead. J.F Harding has such skill that he is able to bring out all the subtle aspects of Ben's character; grumpy and sullen, vulnerable and misery, gravelly dominant Alpha and everything in between that I am always waiting and praying for a Ben chapter to bask in.

In short, this book is everything you could possibly want for an audio fan. A heart-pounding thriller with countdown suspense of will they rescue humanity from the latest horsewoman. But along the ride there is time to indulge in some group telepathy, a sexy trip to Iniquity and snapshots of a blissful domestic life for a group of people who have found where they truly belong. Sexy, funny, intense, heartbreaking, swoony - you really do feel everything and more in this one. The finale we all deserved. Bravo Meg and Kim - the diabolical geniuses!!! xxx

**Audio Review**
Five Soul Sacrificing Stars! Lost to the Moon by K. Loraine and Meg Anne was an intense, emotional, and epic conclusion to the Mate Games: Pestilence series. Rosie’s journey along with all her devoted mates to stop the looming apocalypse gripped my attention, captured my heart, and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Kim and Meg have once again written another fantastic series with memorable sexy, swoony characters that will stick with you long after you finish!

Stella Hunter, Teddy Hamilton, James Joseph, Jacob Morgan, J.F. Harding, and John Hartley narrate this audiobook in duet, and this all-star cast once again DELIVERS! Stella’s performance of the sassy, devoted vampire, Rosie, is melodic and mesmerizing. James’ performance of the evolution of the purple demon, Pan, softened my heart. JF and Jacob brought charm, dedication, and humor to my favorite wolf shifter twins. John embodied Gavin’s loyal loving husband-dominant persona perfectly. The entire cast brings the heat and the sexual chemistry when we hear the word, “moonlight.”

Overall, I LOVED this book! If you are a fan of a paranormal why choose romance fierce with a vampire queen, devoted twin shifter wolves, a conflicted purple demon, a hacker with new capabilities, a knowledgeable vampire husband, steamy moonlight scenes, sickness, healing powers, more secrets revealed, meddling Lilith, earthquakes, spicy fantasies at Iniquity, visits from relatives, zombie forest creatures, an epic showdown with Pestilence, and a HEA that you will want to get lost in forever, then you will love the thrilling conclusion to Rosie, Pan, Remi, Asher, Ben, and Gavin’s story. I always to more from K. Loraine and Meg Anne.

Another amazing Mate Games Series. Rosie and her guys did the unimaginable and thwarted Pestilence from starting the apocalypse.

This finale seriously pulled at your heartstrings. There were moments of sadness, humor, anxiety, excitement and pure bliss. It was a long road trodden but Rosie, Ben, Gavin, Remi, Asher and Pan made it work.

It was so fulfilling to see the villain get his redemption. Pan was a cruel and manipulative villain. Watching his transformation from book 1 to book 4 was very entertaining. Love is a powerful tool and it was strong enough to transform Pan from Villain to Victor.

It was hardwork but Rosie was able to bring her guys together as the family they all desired. Trust, Love, Loyalty and Forgiveness is what brought the guys together with Rosie as their center.

Love and Sacrifice were the weapons needed to fight this battle but Rosie and the guys aren't out of the woods yet. Rosie and her guys defeated Pestilence and her Sister-in-law (Sunday) and her mates defeated War. There are two more horsewomen left, leaving everyone wondering who's up to bate next.......Famine or Death?

I'm looking forward to the next installment if the Mate Games.

the finale of this part of the mate games series was RIDICULOUSLY action packed. seriously. HOW did the authors: 1) make me love a whole ass character i HATED all the way up to the last 1/4 of the last book, 2) fit as much action in this one book as there were in the previous 3 combined, and 3) fit a HUGE amount of SPICY spice in this already jam-packed book?!?!? at this point i’m just going to assume there’s some sort of magic spell, or a demon deal at play, because it should be impossible. yet… it’s true. it’s all right there. HIGHLY recommend this book, this series, and the mate games series as a whole. if you like audiobooks, give yourself an unbirthday present (or birthday, or christmas, or president’s day. whatever, i’m not your mom) and BUY THE AUDIO. it is next level panty melting 🫠

------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Plot: 💬

The final battle is here. Rosie and her mates are neck-deep in chaos. Rosie’s world is falling apart, literally. Pestilence is spreading, time’s running out, and the only way forward is through heartbreak, healing, and a whole lot of mate drama. Magic, mayhem, and monsters? Tick, tick, tick..
------------------------------------------------------------------------
About The Author:

Meg Anne and K. Loraine really said “go big or go home” with this finale. It’s got tension, spice, heartbreak, and redemption all wrapped up in one wild ride. The characters felt more real than ever, the found-family vibes were peak, and the pacing kept things moving without feeling rushed. The tone was perfectly balanced between dark and hopeful, steamy and hilarious, exactly what I wanted from the last instalment.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Narrator Chemistry: 🎙️

Stella Hunter as Rosie: She gets Rosie. Every scene, whether it’s fierce, flirty or devastating, hits just right. Her delivery gave Rosie that strong-but-soft energy I adore.

Teddy Hamilton as Asher: Pure protective, ride-or-die energy. His voice gave Asher so much heart.

Jacob Morgan as Remi: His voice has this quiet intensity that fit Remi to a T. Calm but emotionally loaded.

J.F. Harding as Ben: Emotional depth for days. You could hear every shift in Ben’s emotional state, and I was here for it.

John Hartley as Gavin: Deep, commanding, total alpha presence. He gave Gavin that sharp edge but with unexpected tenderness.

James Joseph as Pan: Pan was absolute chaos in the best way and James nailed that playful, cheeky, layered tone.

The full cast added serious richness to the story. It felt like an ensemble movie, and yeah, I’d watch it if it were.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Feels:

Laughter: 😂 3/5 - Even with the apocalypse looming, this crew still finds time for sass and sarcasm. Pan especially brings the chaos.

Swooniness: 🫠 4/5 - The romance feels earned and intimate. You’ll melt a little every time someone says “mine..”

Suspense: 🕵️‍♂️ 4/5 - The urgency never lets up. I was stressed but like, in the best way.

Plot Twists: 🔀 3.5/5 - Some twists hit, others you might see coming. But even when I guessed things, I still felt them land.

Tear Flow Rate: 😭 2.5/5 - More "quiet tears during emotional conversations" than ugly sobbing, but it still gets you right in the heart.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sizzle Scale:

Scorching: 🔥 4.5/5 - This book has heat but it never feels out of place. Multiple mates = multiple flavours of spice. It’s steamy, emotional, and doesn’t shy away from the tension.

Book Bite:

This was such a strong finish. It gave chaos and comfort, heartbreak and healing, and a main character who finally steps into her Boss Bitch power. The dynamic between Rosie and her mates felt all sorts of messy, tender, passionate.

✔️ Reverse Harem / Why-Choose.
✔️ Found Family.
✔️ Fated Mates.
✔️ Apocalyptic Fantasy Romance.
✔️ Redemption Arc.

Wow, a lot of story has happened since book one. The characters all still had their snarky banter and then one without a doubt had a lot of twist and turns I didn't see coming, even talking about Pan! I'm glad I took a chance on them. They were refreshing and even funny at times.

The multi-cast duet audiobook is narrated by Stella Hunter as Rosalyn (Rosie), Teddy Hamilton as Asher, JF Harding as Bently, John Hartley as Gavin, James Joseph as Pan, and Jacob Morgan as Remington. They all were perfect for their characters and did an awesome job.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Lost to the Moon

Alright you ladies did it again. I was absorbed into this book. Pan was always my favorite and he did not disappoint. This book picked up where the previous left off. The war against Pestilence has finally reached its tipping point and Rosie and her mates have to suit up and take her on. The true battle doesn’t begin for awhile but Rosie and her guys try to understand their relationship and figure out how to stop Pestilence. There are some easter eggs for the next one and I am foaming at the mouth ready for it. You give me a HEA and then drop a bomb that the next one is going to be in a prison. Way to make me go Feral. I love the unhinged guys they are my favorite. Hence my love for Pan.

This was a better outing than the War series. The fighting in the finale didn't feel as rushed. I will say the bonus chapter was hot, but I wanted a proper long drawn-out orgy scene between Rosie and her mates. You can't give her an extra one and then not deliver. I'm going to take a break and let the Death series be fully published before I dive back into this world.

p.s. I love the black and gold covers much better than the hunky men ones.

What a brilliant series! I laughed so hard, cried, and completely melted. who would have thought id have accidentally fallen in love with a purple demon with horns and a tail 🤣

The audiobook was full cast, duet style narration, and was perfect. I Do recommend reading the mate games war series before this one!

If you thought War had some tricks up her sleeve just wait until you see what Pesti can do....

Plague is spreading in the little town of Aurora Springs Alaska, and everyone is powerless to stop it. Rosie and her men are doing everything they can to try and make sure Pestilence doesn't succeed but with secrets spilling out faster than they can keep up with the only.... creature that might be able to help is the one being on Earth they fear they can't trust.

Captain Aubergine might have started on the wrong side of the apocalypse but now that everything is changing for him will he be able to put aside his horns and help his mate or will he perish along with mommy dearest?

Thousands of praises to the narration gods for giving us audio gold throughout this entire series! A vampire duke played by none other than the delicious John Hartley. Twin werewolves in the form of Jacob Morgan and J.F. Harding, talk about weak at the knees. A hacker with so much more under his belt played by Teddy Hamilton and a purple demon with a tail made for sinning played by the astoundingly talented James Joseph, and that is just the men. Stella Hunter carried the entire female cast from book 1 all the way through to the end and I am in awe of how incredibly talented she is. How does everyone not know her name by now??

For forks sake Meg Anne & K. Loraine were you trying to leave us all in a crumpled ball crying on the floor by the end of this series? I know authors live for readers tears but come on, I didn't expect all of that!!! From the very first Mate Games with War trying to take over and Sunday trying to do her best by saving the world I have been head over heels for this beautiful world these two authors created. With each book, I fall deeper in love with this world and its inhabitants.

While I know we haven't seen the last of the horsewomen my only question now is will Lilith and Gabriel get their own stories before all this over because those two might have won my heart in a twisted kind of way and I am not ready to say goodbye to them until they get their happily ever afters.

Holy Apocalypse, Batman!!! Meg Anne and K. Loraine have taken their readers and listeners on one hell of a ride in the "The Mate Games: Pestilence" series. The journey for Rosie and her loyal mates comes to end with a battle for the ages, so get ready for one crazy ride that will have you hovering at the edge of your seat.

Picking up right where book three ended; twists, turns, and surprise continues to plague Rosie and her fated mates while there is an apocalypse looming over their heads in Lost to the Moon. Just when the bonds between these five men and their love might break, they just get stronger and never falter. But will that love that they share be enough to stop the imminent ending of the world?

This book is narrated by a multi-cast of talented actors. These narrators gave their all to not just this book but to the whole series. Leading the pack is Stella Hunter. She continues to amaze me, she played all of Rosie's vulnerabilities, feistiness, and strengths perfectly. Teddy Hamilton is our cunning loner of hacker, Asher. This character has known true pain, jumping from one home to another as a child, never really having a place where he belong or a family, until Rosie comes barreling into his life. As the emotional lover (with a flair for dominance) wolf shifter, Bentley, is J.F. Harding. He gave Ben a vulnerable side that could easily be switched to a growling, dominate alpha that made my heart melt to pile of goo. John Hartley as the broody vampire duke, Gavin, was perfection. There is no other way to describe him. While Gavin is the domineering and relatively stuffy nobleman, John gave him a softer side that listeners can't help but fall in love with. He loves Rosie with all he is and doesn't hesitate to protect not only her but her other mates as well. Jacob Morgan brought all the laughs and humor to the story as the second half of Mercer twins, Remington. He brought all the different sides of Remi to life, whether he was light to everyone's dark or the hidden commanding alpha that his mate needed, Jacob did it beautifully. Finally in the role of the purple demon, listeners love to hate, is James Joseph. Pan is the sarcastic, yet charming rouge of the story. James took this character perfectly to the tee. If you're like me, you will love him by the end of the series.

Good Gramps!! (iykyk right) What an ending to the second Mate Games series. Big call but I think this series was even better than the last one! AND if the epilogue was anything to go by the next one will be better!
What I love about this writing duo is that, sometimes with multiple series around the same premise and interlocking characters, there is a trouble that the storyline become 'familiar'. But this one was TOTALLY different from Mate Games:War AND it seems the next one will continue to entertain in a totally different way.
Back to this specific book. Firstly if you haven't read the first three books go back and do that, you will need the story and characters under your belt before reading this one. In Lost to the Moon everyone comes into their own and things really click into place for all the characters. Without giving away spoilers everything comes to a head and ends with a bang (but a HEA).
The MOST enjoyable thing about this series is the humour. Seriously the humour woven into this book is exceptional and particularly's Remi's humour is fantastic. If you like your angst with humour woven in than this is the book for you.

this gets a whole star marked off for the Trope That Will Not Be Named (aka Super Powerful FMC sacrifices her powers at the end to save everyone for the good of the world blah blah blah). I actually really liked it & would’ve given it even 4 stars almost but nope, they had to go & ruin it. I’m literally going to go back & drop the star rating on each book because of it.

✨️ TW:

Its here! The epic climax we have all been waiting for is finally here!!

Lost to the moon is the fourth and final book in the Mate Game: Pestilence series, and holy hell does alot happen. As always, the writing is top notch, the plot is awesome and the spice is 🤌 *chefs kiss*. It delivers the perfect balance of action, romance and humour and wraps up all the loose ends in a nice little bow. Another solid novel by both Kim Loraine and Meg Anne.

The plot:
This book picks right up where the last one left off. Our Rosie has settled into her new life as a vampire, however is still grappling with the powers and desires that come with being a queen. Between the spread of the Pestilence plague and the hellmouth being opened, the town is in chaos and no one is safe. Are Rosie and her devoted harem of delectable men up to the mammoth task of stopping the Apocalypse? Or will their mounting adversaries prove to be too much? One things for sure, there's an epic Showdown coming and everyone might not survive.

The characters:
Ok firstly let me just say Demon Asher is 🥵🥵🥵. Like sweet baby jesus that man does things to me in this book. He finally step fully into his power and it is sexy af. It was so nice to see him get the closure he so desperately needed and the family he never had.

Now Pan. My sweet, sweet evil Pan. I was so bloody happy to see him finally get his redemption arc and that ending for him 😱 I'm not sure how I feel about his current status at the end, but I'm secretly hoping he becomes his old self again (iykyk 🤭)

The mercer twins are back in all their wonderful glory. Daddy Ben is his protective and loving self as always, and Remi is tje lovable brat we all adore. These boys can do no wrong for me. It got hairy for a hot minute with them both but they pulled together and got through their troubles.

Gavin really really grew on me as this series went on. His character development was really great and he became so kuch more than just the detached duke of tears. He actually became one of my favourites by the end of this series.

Rosie really has a power up in this book. She's not only a vampire now, but a badass queen with new powers. I kind of would have liked to have seen more powers tho so she truly was a force to be reckoned with. I really appreciated that the writers didn't make her ovee the top or annoying while making her powerful.

There are also cameos from all our favourites from the original Mate Games series which I loved. Oh and I hoping like hell that the next book is about Tor and his place in the mate games universe 😉😉

The spice:
I have two words. The. Feast. Sweet baby jesus the feast was hot. Basically Gavin directs a giant orgy with all Rosie and all the men of her harem. Theres Dp, anal, praise, degredation, cum play, basically you name it, this scene has it. There is also choking, spit play, sadism, masochism, daddy kink, caning, whipping and more.

Gavin and Rosie's scene in Lilliths club is seriously hot. He really shows us why he's the duke of tears but also dotes on Rosie afterwards.

The end of the book hints at more mm exploration within the harem and I really, really, really need a book to be written about this, like, immediately please.

Summary:
I highly recommend the entire mate games series is as an amazing read with a solid plot, well rounded characters, world building and immersion and out of this world smut. Definitely a 5 star read for me.

*ARC review*

An excellent conclusion to this series, which is my first from these authors, but I doubt will be my last. This really checked all the boxes and wrapped up all the loose ends, which I feel like is only fair after a reader has invested the time to read four books about these characters.

Speaking of, the characterization in this series is really what stands out. In general, I like a max of 4 men in my why choose books -- there are 5 in this one, but it was done exceptionally well. Each of the men have such a distinct character, personality and voice that you get to learn because they each get a solid amount of time as the narrator. The authors also highlight the same moment from different character perspectives, which is a nice touch. The men go through SO much in this series, and this book especially. Where they end up as characters at the end of the series is leaps and bounds from where they start in the first book. All of them have different journeys, but this installment is really about Pan and Asher. Happily, Asher's situation resolves in multiple ways, some of which took me by very positive surprise. While Asher is on board for their poly relationship, with Rosie at the center, in this book he learns a lot about his past and his abilities, with some not so subtle pushes from various characters. Pan has to do the opposite and figure out if he can give up his power and his ego to be a member of a family.

This book is really where we start to see the characters gel as a unit, as a family whose first priority is...all of them. This is certainly helped along by the group telepathy they develop through their mate bonds. This is one of my favorite plot devices ever, so I ate that UP. Additionally, I loved the development of relationships between characters that lend to the tightening of the overall family bond - especially Ben/Gavin, Asher/Gavin and Pan/Asher. The relationship between Remi and Asher gets some time and attention too, which is both sweet and sexy. The end result, helped along by the cozy feels epilogue, is a family, which is believable and didn't feel forced or like the authors just skipped ahead to the easy parts.

The only part of the book that felt a bit 'meh' to me was the final battle that the books have been leading up to all this time. While I did like that we very happily avoided the obvious 'lady with all the power has to sacrifice herself for her love' trope, it didn't seem like the showdown to end an apocalypse. A lot of the 'I've been plotting and planning for this!' points were just...handwaved away and didn't end up mattering at all. But truthfully, it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. The villain wasn't what I was reading for.

As usual, the spice was excellent and creative since the scenes in this book are mostly group scenes. If you're after a book that is romantic, sweet sex with two partners at a time...this isn't the book for you (although I doubt you've read this far if that's your thing).

Lost To The Moon by K Loraine & Meg Anne is the final instalment of the Mate Games Pestilence series, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! This epic Why Choose PNR series had me hooked from the very beginning, and the finale was everything I hoped it would be.

The final instalment was intense and action-packed. The spread of the Pestilence plague and the impending doom made for yet another thrilling listen, and the showdown between the heroes and the villains was nothing short of epic, and let’s not forget that feast…Forking Hell!! Meg and K had me on the edge of my seat until the very end, wondering who would come out on top and if everyone would survive.

The banter between the characters was so witty and cleverly written, it made me laugh out loud more times than I can count. And the little easter-eggs woven throughout the series made it all the more special for me as a fan. I truly believe this series stands out from the rest in the genre.

Finally, the duet narration by the multi-cast was simply fantastic it was a delight to listen to them all come together in this epic conclusion.

Once again, Stella Hunter has impressed me with her outstanding performance, and my admiration for her continues to grow. She portrays Rosie's possessive and controlling nature and the wickedly diabolical Pestilence with absolute brilliance. Her phenomenal acting skills make her stand out, and I simply adore her!

In this episode, John Hartley's exceptional performance continues to steal the show. As the Duke of Tears, he continues to hold everyone together, and his portrayal of Gavin was fantastic. He beautifully balanced the Duke's caring side with his controlling, possessive Alpha/Dom side and continues to be the one who hold them all together.

Jacob Morgan and JF Harding are once again delightful as the delicious Shifter Twins – they owned these roles and I adore them.

Teddy Hamilton did an excellent job showcasing Asher's caring and high-tech intelligent side he was simply brilliant.

It’s no secret that James Joseph’s performance as Pan is my favourite and JJ do not disappoint – he just gets better and better, and if Rosie ever tires of him, well, I’m right here waiting – I was worried how things will end for my fave #anti-hero Ma Petite Monstre, but as usual Meg and K did not disappoint: Pans character arc was well-developed, and his struggles with redemption and loyalty made for a compelling narrative and was a perfect end to such an epic series.

Overall, I highly recommend "Lost To The Moon" to anyone looking for a spicy Why Choose paranormal romance with unforgettable characters and an action-packed plot. This is a must-listen and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. While I will miss this delightfully talented master cast and world, I’m excited for what Meg and K have in store for us. All the Lost stars!

The end is near in Lost to the Moon the final book in The Mating Games: Pestilence. What a fantastic series, Moon was the perfect conclusion to the series, there were laughs, tears, and a slew of other emotions. I loved it.

Rosie has finally stopped running from her problems and is ready to stand and fight. Sure she had no clue how to do that but she kept on trying. Rosie has grown, not only in the cooking department (there was this one scene with a roast that looked very promising) but with her relationships as we. Rosie looks to her mates for suggestions and to go over ideas instead of tackling things on her own. They're working together, more like a group than before.

Remi was infected at the end of the last book and he was sick at the beginning of this story as well. Seeing Remi like that and his scenes with Ben and Rosie was heart-wrenching but it was the first scene he had with Asher that made me tear up. Gods the emotional trauma, Remi is absolutely my favorite of the mates, he's an adorable puppy ❤️. Surprisingly enough in this book I finally understand Gavin. Turns out the Duke of Tears has a bigger heart than he lets on. Seems like Gavin has been wearing a mask for most of his life and his new family is finally getting to him.

As for the other mates, Ben was steady throughout the entire book, Asher had some moments but he was mostly good. Pan, shocked me. The Demon not only had some hard truths thrown at him but he had some self-revelations. The demon grew a heart, who knew? Pan annoyed me until the very last minute when he earned redemption in my eyes and I didn't see it coming.

You know everyone wanted to talk about Sunday and her mates but people aren't talking about Roise and her mates' crap show, running around with their heads cut off. There were plagues, ghosts, earthquakes, bar brawls, a hellmouth, sex clubs, and more. All that makes for a great story but my favorite parts of the book were there was plenty of humor, amazing banter, and an unexpected amount of vague pop culture references. Those are the parts that make me love this book. Since the group has gotten closer the banter and teasing between everyone has gone wild and I loved it. They were the most memorable parts, especially the moments between Pan and Asher, I had good tears from laughing so hard.

It's the end of the world as we know it, at least it was supposed to be. Lost to the Moon was a glorious ending to the Mating Games Pestilence series. Things got hairy at the end but Roise and her guys pulled through and got their unexpected HEA. I loved the epilogue that Kim and Meg wrote for the group. War and Pestilence have lost, looks like Death is taking her shot in the next season of the Mating Games.
