As someone who is new to this genre, this book was an engaging and impressive introduction. The setting of Jackson Hole, Wyoming acts a wonderful backdrop to what I’m sure will be an enthralling love story of ups and downs, twists and turns, and surprises of epic proportions. Sam’s unstoppable drive and charm paired with Kat’s mysterious past and guarded personality are a perfect concoction for what I hope is a long series of novels. Cheers!

Booker is a professional snowboarder who falls for his nurse Kat. Booker is complicated and getting used to navigating his new life post accident. Kat is sweet and in need of someone to take care of her for a change. Kat’s past and upbringing leaves you wanting to know more. You find yourself rooting for them the moment they meet. Overall, this was a great read and I recommend to anyone looking for a solid love story. Hopefully there is a sequel because the ending is suspenseful. I need to know what is next for this couple.

Amazing we’ll written book loved it and kept me on the edge of my sit till the very end of the book, and now I can not wait for the next book to come out after that stunning cliff hanger at the end especially with all the lead up that was so subtle that I didn’t realize it until it was right in front of me. I enjoyed this story even though it took a while for me to finish. At first, I read Sam as immature and unbelievable in his love for Kat, but as the story progressed, I realized that it was his age, and their age difference. Lots of sweet 💕 and spicy 🔥 scenes. This ends on a cliffhanger, so I am definitely looking forward to the next book!

This is the debut book by MM Flynn. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review, so here it goes!

This is the story of Sam and Kat who meet after a terrible snowboarding accident. They have this undeniable attraction to each other immediately and are trying to navigate the relationship of a super sports star and a nurse who is leading a low key sheltered life stemming from a tragic past.

I am struggling to express how I feel about this book because, quite honestly, I am still not sure. There were definitely things I liked about it, but also things I struggled with, so I am meeting somewhere in the middle with a 3 star rating.

I am fine with stories that start with love at first sight, but the start to the story was awkward, creepy, and a bit off putting to me. That may just be me personally because I do have a history of working in healthcare. I didn't like that their love story started with some spark while he was in a coma. It just hit me the wrong way. With that being said, once the story started to progress, I quickly forgot that it creeped me out.

I was in and out of love with the characters throughout the book. At times I thought Sam was super thoughtful and sweet. Then at other times I felt he was super immature and self-centered. He is young and maybe that was the vibe the author was trying to put out there to help show some growth and maturity. I like Kat, but at times I felt her character was lacking. I would have like to have known more about her backstory and maybe I could have connected with her more. Again, maybe this is the author's intention since with the cliffhanger at the end, she intends on giving us more of the story. I also felt at times that the intimate scenes were a bit cringey for me. Some of the phrases they said were used repeatedly and gave me more of a lust vibe than a love and romance one.

The end surprised me as these kinds of books don't normally end with so much unresolved. I feel invested enough to read the next book and am hoping once I do that I will feel differently about the first one.

The is part of The Booker Series each book can be read as a standalone with a sexy who falls for the girl who cares for him without ulterior motive. Booker sexy as all get out professional snowboarder who gets hurts, frustrated with himself after the accident but he has a nurse that makes him want to move past all obstacles. Kat is so huggable an excellent nurse, didn’t have the best upbringing which sometimes leaves her wanting more and just for once someone to take care of her. The moment she meets her patients the attraction is off the charts but him being her patients could she however that magnetic pull is only getting stronger will they give in, can they heal one another, will he learn to accept his fate realizing he isn’t in it alone, and can they find a balance that works for them leading them to happiness?.

It's no secret that I'm a massive sports romance lover and Booker was no exception. This is the first romance I've read about snowboarding, which intrigued me from the beginning.

What I loved:

-MM Flynn's writing was really easy to follow, fast-paced, and made this one a quick read
- Age gap (she's older), sports romance, insta-love
- I literally couldn't put this book down from the beginning of the story.

The only thing holding this one back from being a 5 star read for me is the insta-love. I have trouble connecting with insta-love romance because I have trouble finding them to be believable and sometimes have trouble feeling the chemistry. I will say MM Flynn did a great job with the insta-love in this one though!

All in all, if you're looking for a insta-love sports romance with some spice, give this one a try!

Like this book, not what i expected at the end. CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE. Kat has been living without electronics to protect herself from her past. Booker has just been injured and is staying on the ward where Kat works. When she feels a magnetic pull to him she finds herself doing things she never expected. But as he keeps learning more about her, can their love conquer all and they find a happily ever after?.

Kat is hesitant to get involved with Sam due to his profession and she has some darkness and issues with her past that she needs to work on but Sam is relentless. Their relationship grew pretty quick but I liked their chemistry. Looking forward to reading the next book.

I was intrigued with nurse Kat who had no interest in dating. However, she was much like everyone else when it came to falling under Sam Booker's spell. I loved that there was an instant unconscious connection that sent sparks between the two. While there was a lot of passion the two got caught up in, they had so many things going against them, especially with Sam's celebrity status. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Sam is a professional snow boarder and following a bad accident, is nursed back from his coma by Kat. Being 8 years younger than her gives her pause but they are both definitely interested. His behaviour and attitude changes after he wakes up, more mature and responsible. She has fears, phobias and issues of huge proportions. She is also hiding from herself. Cliff hanger ending.

found this book to really pull me in and I wanted to know what was going to happen. The author did a good job at keeping you intrigued the whole time. The connection between Sam and Kat was one of a kind.

I just finished reading and wow. I don’t even know where to start. Sam, you have my heart. I don’t really read stories when the main male protagonist is so “soft” but here I found myself loving him. Kat still has a lot she hasn’t said, and I’m here for it waiting to find out it.

I really enjoyed this older man-younger woman romance. Sam falls for Kat even before he sees her. They have a sizzling chemistry together, and are totally adorable together. However, Kat is struggling from things from her past that impedes her from living her life to the fullest, including this new relationship. I thought this book was so compelling and cannot believe it ends on a cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see what happens next!.

This was my first time reading this author and it did not disappoint. Booker is a sports, insta-lust, tragic past, romance that follows snowboard phenom Sam Booker and Kat Peters, the nurse who takes care of him after a serious injury on the slopes. After his traumatic brain injury, Sam wakes up a different person. He feels angry, frustrated, and edgy in a way he never did B.C. (Before Concussion). The only thing that brings him any semblance of peace is Kat, even before he wakes from the coma. Once he does wake, they find themselves attracted like neither has ever experienced before. But as Sam starts to push Kat to travel to his events and take a more active roll in each other’s life, more of her past comes to light.

From a medical perspective, I was pretty impressed by the descriptions and portrayal of Sam’s injury. I work in sports medicine and personality/emotional disregulation after a concussion is far more common than anyone things. This book was more accurate than many I have read. My heart breaks for Kat. You can tell throughout the novel that there is more to her than meets the eye. There are little hints dropped here and there and while you may be able to piece together parts of it, I don’t think you will guess the end. Fair warning now, it ends in major cliffhanger. Nothing like dropping a bomb and then fainting, right?! Lucky for all of us, the second novel in the duet releases soon so there won’t be too long to wait. Pick up your copy of Booker now so that you are ready when Bailout releases next week! I know I’m anxiously awaiting to find out what happens next.

This is my first book from MM Flynn and I really enjoyed this story. This book is filled with so many amazing tropes - instant attraction, opposites attract, famous athlete, and medical provider.

I have not read a book with this plot line and I really enjoyed it. Sam and Kat are total opposites but a chance meeting brings them together.

There are so many emotions throughout this books - fear, sadness, hope, love and new beginnings.

Sam’s friends were on my list because they were being real jerk faces! Kat has some issues she needs to work through and the relationship with Sam is bringing some of those to the forefront…she has some decisions to make. I like them as a couple but they both have things to work through.

This book has a cliffy but the second book picks right up where it leaves off.

OMG! What an amazing new author (for me) and I love this book. Kat is just your regular ICU nurse on the outside but on the inside she has so many phobias that it's surprising she is so incredible at her job. But when Sam Booker, famous and gorgeous snowboarder, is injured it's her ICU he ends up. From the first moment sparks fly and they just can't seem to be without each other. However, Sam has to return to the Xgames and with all of Kat's anxieties she's unable to travel with him. Sam has no idea how to help Kat because she just won't let him in but could she be keeping more secrets then anyone knows??
Can't wait for the next book in this breath taking series.

This book was so addictive! While this book wasn’t dark or containing a complex plot, there was something about this book was was so compelling that I had to know what happened to Sam and Kat. Sam is a professional snowboarder who ended up in a coma after an accident and somehow heard Kats voice in his coma while she was his nurse and talked to him while he was unconscious. This is fate for these two even though there is thousands of reasons they shouldn’t be together. We see snippets of Kats vulnerability throughout this story that really alluded to something else going on, even though she never shared with Sam. The ending was wild, I did not see that coming! I feel like my heart is broken for these two and I need to read book two to make sure they get their HEA! If you need a book that will capture your attention, that has minimal triggers, and isn’t a dark romance, this is the book to pick up!

As a fan of sports romances, and someone who's read many of them, I was immediately delighted by the originality of the sport fueling this romance: snowboarding being the sport fueling the story and bringing two very different people together. From there the romance progresses in a similar trajectory, with a few unexpected twists and turns along the way, before ending on a cliffhanger.

Sam Booker is the star of snowboarding, a young stud full of cockiness, who at the start of the story has a life-altering injury change his life irrevocably. For two months he's in a coma with Kate Peters as his nurse which leads to an instant connection building up between them. Sam feels their immediate connection the moment he wakes up, he just needs to convince her of his feelings. With each turn of the page, through words and deeds, he goes out of his way to win Kate's heart. Some acts are romantic, some sweet, while some felt a bit silly and immature. Through everything though he was committed to Kate and I was definitely rooting for him.

Kate Peters is the older woman, someone with a painful past and secrets galore. She has lots of quirks and is someone who often seemed guarded. Being the older woman leant her an air of maturity compared to Sam and it took awhile for me to buy into their romance because of it. As the story progressed though things got steamier and steamier, Kate's secrets got closer to being revealed, and the ability for these two to form a permanent connection was left in the balance. Readers will find themselves entertained by this older woman/younger man tale, left clamoring for more after a dramatic cliffhanger ending, as these two very unique characters and their emotionally intense romance has me rooting for them to find their HEA.

When I started this book, the first thought to cross my mind was that whole love at first sight is always so cheesy. The way Booker fell for Kat before even opening his eyes was a bit farfetched but, hey, it worked out for them. For most of the book, I felt like Booker was a bit over the top with his insta-obsession for Kat so much so that I almost felt bad for Kat for having to deal with his over the top feelings (that, at times, gave me the "but why?"). There was not enough character and story development for my liking and it felt like the story ended up moreso just moving from one steamy scene to the next and less of a developing story. The ending was not what I expected, leaving me with a lot of questions to be answered but I supposed that's what a cliffhanger is all about--left me wanting to read the next book just to get some closure from this first book!
