Discovered the key to her locked cabinet in high school and gained access to her stash of good books and was hooked ever since.

I stumbled upon alien erotica novels early in the pandemic, and I honestly hadn’t known non-cheesy ones were out there. I always assumed they would be stupid. But bored with the never-ending sameness, I happened upon one with a hot alien cover and started reading.

I wonder if you should? I started here but you don’t get much background about the alien/Earth situation or the alien race. But it does stand alone as a romance. (I know she has more Bolan books so I wonder if it would help to read in order though?? Let me know what you think if you’ve read them)

I just could not get into this book. I had a disconnect with the writing. But I think those looking for some alien Halloween fun in a shorter novel for an October read might enjoy!

Readability: How ‘readable’ was the book? Did I fly through it? Did I have to tell myself to pick it back up repeatedly? Were any passages confusing? (I will probably score like (1) is literally unreadable due to formatting/typing errors, etc (2) There were lots of errors that made it difficult to read OR It was extremely confusing and I had to reread passages to make sense of it OR I disliked it so much I had to bribe myself to keep reading (3) I didn’t really want to keep reading and would have preferred to abandon the read and start something else OR some minor continuity issues/confusion (4) I liked it fine, maybe a minor error or 2. I was happy to pick it up when I had time. (5) I never wanted to put this down. I thought about it when I wasn’t reading it. I hid in the bathroom from my kids to read. I threw inappropriate food at my children for dinner so I could read instead.)

Sensuality: This is how the intimate scenes are written. Kisses and sexual scenes – how sensual were they? Were they on the mechanical side? Was there emotional pull tied in? Were the details explicit or flowery? These are subjective but generally (1) too short to get a good judgement (2) not all what I'm looking for - very vague or flowery prose (3) either not explicit enough or not enough emotional pull (too mechanical/physically descriptive without the emotions) (4) what I love in a scene (5) absolute perfection - perfect balance of emotional longing and explicit descriptions
Sex Scene Length: How long the bedroom scenes are (generally (1) is 1-3 sentences (2) is a few paragraphs to a page-ish (3) is about average, a few pages (4) more well developed scenes, quite a few pages with descriptions (4) the majority of the book takes place in the bedroom. This is always hard to tell for me on audio!
Steam Scale: Generally, each flame is a scene. If scenes are super close together I sometimes combine them. If a scene is super short or so vague I don’t know what’s happening, I don’t count it. There’s some levels of grey but generally the number of flames is how many sex scenes there are (I max out at 5 so I’ll put a + after if there’s more than that)

This absolutely explicit fates mates alien fantasy was everything I didn’t know I needed. Entirely filthy and gorgeously descriptive, I now require a hot Bolan boyfriend. I plan on reading everting written by Kyra Keys because of the rest of their works is as good as this one, I’ll be in for an amazing few days.

This one was so good and so dirty! Arix and Samantha were fated to be together, but she didn't quite believe it at first. The chemistry between these two.. wow, was it HOT! I really loved the dynamic and the aspects of their fated mates. This was a really good short read.

I have read a couple of these Halloween short stories because hey, it's the season and this one is by far the best one yet. It's a fated mate story but it's super hot and the characters are very cute. Love the pantry scene! Highly recommend.

The setting is Earth, but with a twist. The Bolans have made “contact” with humans and are seeking mates. Bolan males average seven feet tall. They typically work out and are muscular in the chest with long, slender legs. They are blue-skinned and have two small horns on the top of their head and their ears are pointed. Their hair is long, but they often have it tied back.

Piper and her best friend Samantha are obsessed with the The Alien Love Games; this game show features in several of author Kyra Keys’ books where Bolan males “compete” for human mates. You do not need to know previous characters or the background to read this book. It is definitely a standalone.

Samantha and her best friend Piper attend a costume Halloween party together. Arix and Zakel, two Bolan alien males who are good friends, are visiting earth on business. They unknowingly attend the same Halloween party looking for their friend Paul. Everyone thinks Alix and Zakel are in costumes since it is Halloween.

At the party, Samantha is drawn towards Alix as she thinks he looks exactly like the Bolans on The Alien Love Games show. From there, the sparks fly and they feel a mutual attraction.

This story gives you a quick HEA with the promised steamy encounter alluded to in the book title. No cliff hangers, just a alien meets girl love story. I’d recommend if you want something titillating with a few laughs and without a complicated plot line.

Samantha didn't want to go to the Halloween party her best friend was dragging her to. However her friend was encouraging her to go and get a little. Samantha has gone so long without any action, she is ready for some fun. She will even record her favorite show Alien Love game so she can find a hot partner. Samantha's dream man would be an alien but she has no way to find one. However at the Halloween party, she sees a sexy Bolan alien costume that makes her hot. The two quickly get together for a passionate encounter. The next morning Samantha wakes up to figure that her alien in a costume was a real alien and that he claims they are mates.

Arix and his business partner came to Earth to study humans and expand their business. In just a few days, they are returning back to their planet. When the human they have been working with agrees to meet them at a certain address, they find themselves at a human Halloween party. To Arix's shock, he finds his fated mate there in a human woman. She seems as interested in him as he is in her and they have a passionate encounter. He even talks to her about being mates and gets her agreement that she is his. The problem is, he doesn't realize that she is drunk and has no clue what she is agreeing to. He learns his mistake the next morning.

Samantha's love life has been dry since breaking up with her dud boyfriend two years ago, and although she doesn't like going to parties, her friend talks her into going to a Halloween party. She decides that, just perhaps, a down and dirty one-night stand is just what she needs, and when she sees this 7-foot tall blue hunk dressed like a Bolan, she knows he's the one to break her dry spell. Oddly, too, she sees purple stars surrounding him but thinks it must just be the result of the nips of booze she's been imbibing from her hip flask.

Arix, like Samantha, was talked into attending this party by his friend, Zakel, and when he sees Samantha, he sees the purple stars, too. Turns out it's a Bara, the Bolan sign identifying their fated mate.

While Halloween Mating is packed with passion, you'll also chuckle at the smart and sexy dialog between the protagonists. This is a short but highly charged human-alien romance that will keep you engaged from first page to last.

A cute Halloween Novella

Arix and Samantha were extremely cute together. I liked that in this short story there wasn't drama, at least not too much. The seamless way that they worked together didn't make the story feel forced at all. I know in a short story it can be difficult to navigate through all the scenes that fill all necessary plot holes, and this story had that.

Samantha is coaxed to go to a Halloween party with her best friend because she hasn't been on the delaying scene since her breakup years ago. When she gets there her friend disappears on her, and in an attempt to threat a guy's advances she pretend that Arix is her boyfriend. Instantly purple sparks fly and things ensue that solidify the mating bond between them. The next morning, Arix tries to explain to Samantha what is going on between them, and naturally she's a bit hesitant.

I loved that, though Arix was anxious to be with Samantha, he took his time and was patient with her.

For a quick read that was plenty of spice, relatable characters, and hunky aliens, this is the one.

Samantha, the female human lead, has been dragged to a Halloween party by her best friend. Arix, the male alien lead, thought he was attending a business meeting and I shocked to find a party. When they meet, there is a literal connection and Samantha takes Arix home. But she didn’t understand that this is a lifelong connection and Arix is hurt when she refuses to come home to his planet the next morning…

This short story is dual POV, well written, and a fun erotic Halloween read. I enjoyed Samantha’s attitude contrasted against her sexual submissiveness. I enjoyed Arix’s laidback, calm personality combined with his sexual dominance, especially contrasted against his friend and business partner’s excitability. I enjoyed the erotic intimate scenes and the sweetness of the ending.

This is what I call a light hearted story of an instant attraction and fated mates coming together in a flash of purple lights. Lots of steamy love scenes and a alien who wants to take his human mate home with him. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.

Arix and his best friend Zakel are on earth for business, when their business contact invites them to a Halloween party, neither of them expect to meet their Bara mate. Samantha is a human who has been talked into going to a Halloween party by her best friend Piper, she wants a night of hot sex, but would prefer to hook up with one of the Bolan aliens. When she meets Arix, it’s full steam ahead and before she knows it, the Bara lights up between them and she is headed to a happily ever after.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I really enjoyed this story! The biggest critique I have is that it wasn’t long enough.

This was a fast and hot read; it succinctly sets the scene for a world with alien interaction.

Samantha is a human who hasn’t been with a man in 2 years and fantasizes about finding a dominant in the bedroom; Alix is a Bolan (alien race) visiting Earth for business who wants nothing to do with human women. When they meet at a party, sparks fly and they quickly learn they’re destined to be together; they’re mates.

Arix is dominant and hot and, honestly, a bit sweet.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of this world from Keys.

Is that costume a little too good?

Samantha gets talked into going into a Halloween party by her best friend. Since she decides she’s been without a guy for too long, she also decides this is the perfect opportunity for some NSA fun. She has a secret fantasy about aliens and is hoping someone in an alien costume will do it for her.

Arix knows the first time he sees Samantha that she is his fated mate. They’re even 100% sexually compatible, after Samantha gets used to the fact that he is actually an alien and wasn’t in a costume. Now he just needs to talk her into leaving Earth and moving to Bolan with him.

This novella is SPICY, so readers 18+ please.

I really enjoyed this book. I was charmed and captivated by the premise. Good world building and characters. Samantha's best friend convinced her to go to a Halloween party and enjoy a hook-up for once. She loves alien romance and when she spots a man at the party in an amazing alien costume, she runs after him. Arix is about to leave Earth and is just going to a business meeting with his Earth contact, but incomprehensibly finds the address to be at a Halloween party. When a woman crashes into him and their gazes meet, he knows she's his mate. Drunk at the time, Samantha didn't realize the man she went after was a real alien until she woke up the next morning. But her fantasies were about to come true, so it's only a plus. This was a fun, quick read. 4 stars.

For the size and theme, it was fun, flirty, and fast. I enjoyed it. Fated mates is always a winner, and there’s just something about alien romances that make this girl giddy.

I do wish the ending was smoothed out more. At first she’s like “I want to keep him”, and then he’s like “I’m keeping you” and suddenly she’s on the defensive. There’s more to it than that, I know, but I just felt like she wasn’t the only one taking me on an emotional rollercoaster…

It just needed a couple thousand words more. 2k more, 3k max. The ending wouldn’t have felt so sudden and forced… just a bit more substance and less whiplash.

Hot, steamy, erotic romance. The story was a fast fun read with no cheating, no cliffhangers and an HEA. Told from a dual POV it is an enjoyable Halloween read.

Samantha, the human female main character, has been going through a "dry" spell since breaking up with her last boyfriend. Her best friend forces her to attend a Halloween party. She is totally impressed with the guy with the alien costume.

Arix, the male alien main character, is at the Halloween party because he thinks he is to meet with a business client. When they get together purple sparks fly!!.

I saw this book in a Bookstagram review, and the description of the book sounded so wild. I had to read it. This book so happen to be free for a short period of time, so I downloaded it on my Kindle. This book only had 2 normal chapters and then it went from 0-100🤣. Very steamy chapters🫶🏾, and it was a very quick read. The only thing that I was not too fond of was the time skip. Samantha got from A-B in a sentence, and I was like, "Woooooaahhh, wait a minute!" I would've like to have read the description of the planet Bolan, but I guess the author left that up to the readers imagination😀.

Funny how you meet someone when you least expect it...and he happens to be just as you dreamed.

Samantha and Arix are both not really trying to have a relationship but the dates have a totally different plan in mind.

Arix has found his fated mate and knows that instead of forcing the mating he knows that you have to woo the mate...well especially if she is human. Samantha is not so sure that Arix is her mate but why not play along..until the truth is revealed..and yes..the Bara is real and yep we are mated.

Samantha's friend Piper convinces her to go out for a party, and Samantha thinks she might have a one night stand, but the alien (Arix) she claims wants to keep her for life. Will Arix convince Samantha to stay with him? I enjoyed this Halloween steamy couple, the quirks of Samantha's alien and the bits of humour in their tale. If you don't mind a dominant alien, and a submissive human, then this might be the quick read for you.
