Haresh Khoobchandani is a friend. He started out as an airline steward and soared in the IT space, first with Microsoft and now with Autodesk. He is also now a trained executive coach. He also used to play football at quite a high level!
Over Covid, he sat down to write this book - which is a little autobiographical - during which he lost his father to the virus. He shares the view that people not only can, but in this rapidly changing world, must change - i.e., unlearn, learn, and grow. This comes from breaking a fixed mindset. Practices that help achieve this include seeking brutal feedback, forging new relationships, spending quiet time by stilling the mind through mindfulness, and being perpetually curious. He also introduces the ARC principle - practices for organisations to grow, one of which is to embrace diversity.
Written in a storytelling style, this is an easy afternoon read. Reflecting on it takes more time 😁
