Even blissful marriage and the Christmas season don’t change the hard reality of the world …
Three months into their marriage, Nikolai and Molly find themselves rocked by sudden unemployment mere weeks before Christmas. And when unexpected news comes to light, their future becomes even more uncertain. In spite of trials, will Nikolai and Molly remember unchangeable Truth—the Truth of Christmas?
Vanessa Hall is an author, teacher, musician, and homeschool graduate. Her debut novel, Unknown, was published in 2021. Outside of writing, she spends her time teaching music, playing music, and working out. Above all else, though, she is a sinner saved and held fast by the abounding grace of Jesus Christ.
Remembered is the story of Nikolai and Molly's first Christmas together, and it's definitely been an experience writing a story that doesn't have a villain chasing my poor characters across the world. :) Merry Christmas!
Oh my goodness I loved this so much! I finished it so fast...lol...though that's not uncommon with a book by one of the Hall sisters...haha...I adore their books!
Okay, let me see if I can review this without just rambling and eeek!
Characters: We got revisist Molly and Nikolai from (I'm blanking which is weird because I loved their story...Unknown, Unworthy, and book three is....blank, because my brain is not participating...lol...) book three in the series. Which is great because I love these two! *hugs them* I can't say much because of spoilers here but let's just say I love them just as much of not more than I did and yeah...*pulls Nikolai into a hug*
Plot: This was a novella so pretty short but I loved the story! The truth of remembering even in the hard times that God is there, that we need to trust Him and His timing for everything! It was beautiful!!!
Romance: A few kisses, nothing extremely detailed, very clean and enjoyable.
Overall: I really enjoyed this story! I've been so excited to read it since I found out about it and just, eek! It made me so happy!!! I love this series and this novella was the first addition!!! Eeeep! I'm so happy and Christmasy feeling right now!!!
Disclosure: I received this book free from the publisher/author. The opinions I have expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a review. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
Characters: I loved seeing Nick and Molly from Untold again. Even though they definitely had some problems in this story, they got a little happiness too.
Language: Clean.
Plot: This is a novella. I shall not speak of the plot. You must read it for yourself :)
Romance: Clean. Just kissing. It was nice to read a story about a married couple.
Themes: The themes were one of my favorite parts of this story: the true meaning of Christmas, marriage, and remembering God's promises.
Writing: Vanessa's clear yet descriptive writing worked so well for this novella. It was beautiful!
Overall: Remembered was an excellent novella that I'd recommend to those who enjoy Christian fiction, contemporary romance, and Christmas stories.
5 stars. This was such a sweet little Christmas story! I really enjoyed getting to see Molly & Nick right after their marriage. Particularly I appreciated how they still had their issues to work through. Nick’s PTSD and Molly’s struggles with Russia didn’t just vanish magically; yet their love for each other made things much easier on each and I thought that was a lovely bit of romance we seldom see in fiction.
While Christmas was more of the surrounding setting than the actual message, I really enjoyed how the author tied it in with the guilt and anxiety Molly & Nick faced. For such a short book, the moral packed a punch! <3
Also, I will never get tired of meeting Gregor… ;)
A Favourite Quote: If God could provide a way for a lost sinner to be reconciled to a holy, just God, why was there any question He’d provide for everyday needs? That He’d provide a job, the money, the safety that was needed? Even the Christmas gifts, if they were necessary?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for promotional purposes. I was not required to write a review, positive or otherwise. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.*
This was the PERFECT novella to read around the holidays! I LOOOVED seeing more into Molly and Nick's relationship after reading book three in the Grace Sufficient series! The perfect blend of romance and suspense and heart-tugging Christian messages! Also, did I mention it's set in Russia? Yes, RUSSIAN CHRISTMAS. Just think about that for a minute. 😛 Not to mention it's really short so it's a great novella to pick up if you need that little bit of help meeting your Goodreads challenge. ;)
This is a sweet story, perfect for leading up to Christmas. Hall does well making the reader feel like they're immersed in arctic Russia (and it could be that I'm still freezing from the subzero temps my area has been getting), and feeling the Christmas spirit even when it's not Christmastime.
I especially loved the pro-life themes and the heavy faith content. Authors who incorporate such threads should always be commended. Remembered also interweaves the lesson that God is always in control no matter what.
So, if you're looking for a faith-filled novella that's perfect for the winter-and-Christmas seasons, pick up Remembered.
I guess I'm not quite ready to leave Christmas behind just yet! I loved this novella about Nick and Molly's first Christmas as a married couple!! It tugged on my heartstrings quite a bit 😰
After getting to know Nick (and fine, Molly, too) in Untold, I was excited the get my hands on this little story. It didn't disappoint... Well, I take that back. It did. It ended far, far too soon.
Note: I received a free copy of this novella and was not required to provide a review of any sort. All thoughts and options are my very own, only swayed slightly by certain poor characters.
A sweet Christmas Novella! I was tempted to wait since it’s absolutely not Christmas time—but I just finished Untold so I wanted to read more of Molly and Nick’s story :)
This story is much lighter than the full length novels. But there is still the same spiritual depth, quality, and, of course, amazing characters I’ve grown to love.
9/10 I bought this over the summer to save for Christmas & I didn’t even make it to Thanksgiving. Haha I would’ve finished this sweet little novella in one sitting if I hadn’t started it in the car repair shop waiting room. This was such a perfect feel-good Christmas story for these lovable characters, & follows the previous three stories adorably.
I really enjoyed this cute, little novella. Molly and Nick were such a cute couple!! And I'm so excited for them!! (I won't spoil anything for those who haven't read it lol)!
