Ari was going to a excursion. The teacher said it’s not real lava we are just going to be looking at cool rocks .Ari said boring he felt he didn’t want to go.After the teacher told us finally the ring belled for home time Ari told his friend don’t you think it would be boring. The next morning they had to go on bus they arrived there. Went inside their was cool stuff like a metal that they were used when the lava was coming out they will put it down and then the lava won’t come. They felt a rumble and it was real lava !Then they started to run then a big splash of water went all on Ari and his friend. Then Ari realized that he had lots of fun.
Kiddo fidgeted a lot less throughout my reading of this one, so I'd say he enjoyed it. As a kid, I'd have loved it because I was a huge volcano nerd (which also means I found this book distractingly unbelievable - but oh well it's based on Roblox lol). There were some unnecessary scenes in the middle of the book. Still a good read, though.
I would say this is my least favorite of the series so far. My 8 year old still enjoys them and wants me to get us the next one. Sigh. It gets 3 stars for engaging my 8 year old in reading though. That is a win.
Cute story with some info about volcanos and friendship . My main objection is the negativity toward siblings and school. Good for young and/or reluctant readers - only 4-6 sentences per page but has the feel of a chapter book.
