I’ve been in love with Theo, my best friend, for a long time. Normally that would be okay, except I’m a closeted professional hockey player and I’m too afraid to mess up my friendship with him.
On my twenty-fifth birthday, everything changes. Grandmum cursed my birthday gift which forces me to confess my love for Theo. As if getting pushed out of the closet wasn’t bad enough, I could no longer burn off magical energy with exercise and shifting into a werewolf alone.
I’m at an age where I have to embrace my magic or it might literally kill me. Then Theo comes up with a new option. Something that will allow our love to flourish. Yet his solution also calls for me to do the one thing that I have refused to do.
Now the question becomes, do we do the spell or is there another way for our love to survive?
If you love werewolves, shifters and hockey, this is the book for you.
Werewolf shifters, hockey and best friends to lovers? That just sounds awesome? *Puts in KU library* This is why I usually read the sample before committing myself to the full book because this is choppy, has lots of telling but not showing in the one cringy sex scene so far and yah it’s a novella but talk about abrupt banging 😂 I’m early enough in to not care about either character so I’ll just see myself out of this one so I don’t have to 1 star it later.
Note: First book in this series is MF and from scrolling this author’s backlist, there are no MM books aside from this one (I might be wrong but I couldn’t find any) so I’m not sure if this is their first and that’s why the sex scenes are weird or if this is just her writing style but for a seasoned author it’s a bit weird. 🤷🏻♀️
While this is definitely outside my comfort zone, I enjoyed the characters and the story line very much. I love the way that Theo and Dino finally came to the realization that they belong together. I love the way they were strong for each other when needed. The writing style is easy to follow. The repeat characters are always fun to read about. The world building and werewolf characterization is interesting and fun. This is my honest opinion. I would like to thank the author for the advance copy.
Dino is afraid to come out, due to the homophobic attitude permeating professional hockey. He is also afraid of ruining his relationship with his best friend and agent, Theo. Theo secretly feels the same way about him. When Dino's magical heritage threatens to change everything, they find each other. A nice story to curl up with on a cold night. I loved reading sport stories, however, I've only up to this point read straight couples but I did enjoy the storyline and I did think it was a great book from Kat. If MM books are your thing for sure consider giving this book a go. 10/10.

Theo and Dino are so cute and good together! Best friends that finally ( with a magical push) admit to what they feel for each other. With the pack behind them and some interesting changes ahead, these two show the best friends to lovers dynamic in the best way. It is an easy read that leaves you wanting more in the best way.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Theo and Dino have been friends since they first met. As time passed, friendship turns to love. I really liked when Theo became Dino's familiar to save him and the description was so cute. While forced into it, Dino accepted and performed his heritage duties very well. I loved the epilogue.
Normally MM is not my thing but because this is part of a series I love I had to read it and I’m glad I did. Dino and Theo are really cute together. Watching true love bloom between them was sweet. Theo showing his unconditional love to Dino and making the sacrifice he did by becoming his familiar shows what true love is all about.
The second book in the series brings Dino and Theo's story. The author does a great job bringing them together and developing their relationship. She adds in the witch heritage and a great cast of supporting characters and delivers a great MM romance. Loved it!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I loved Theo and Dean. I think that they were really good together. They had a magical attraction. I enjoyed the storyline that mixed the paranormal and hockey. The secondary characters were fun to read about too.

With the pack at their backs supporting them, Theo and Dino slowly begin to realize their relationship as best friends is becoming more as feelings change and deepen between them. When Dino’s heritage threatens to tear him down, it’s Theo who becomes his pillar of strength. Will these two best friends realize their perfect man is right in front of them?
Dnf at 11%. I seek for more nuance in characters. It felt like everything was said and not shown. We have a genious character who acts like your everyday person. Many things and concepts were thrown together and I didn’t feel like trusting they would be handled well by the author. Not for me (maybe for me when I was 14 years old).
This is the first book I have read by this author and I am definitely going back and reading more of their books. This was fantastic and I loved the characters and the storyline.
New to me author. This is a mm paranormal story with main characters Theo and Dino. They are both werewolf shifterss with Dino being part witch as well. A friends to lovers story.
Each book in the series is different but moves the story along and let’s us see how the next generation is growing and loving. This is one of my favorite and is a great addition to the series. Thank you Kat. You keep writing them and I’ll keep reading them.
The plot made no sense half of the time, the spice was rushed, sloppy and not all that hot. The shifters storyline is very poorly explored, I hoped for more.
The writing style is...well.. let me show you:
"He unbuckled my belt and pulled my pants down. I was ready for those sexy lips on my dick. His soft HANDS TRAILED DOWN MY TORSO AND LINGERED ON MY LIPS AS HE SUCKED ON MY DICK . His tongue was deadly with the precision of how it rubbed against my penis." Like. What? How is that even possible, the directions make literally zero sense 😂 And that last sentence, I don't even know what's that supppsed to mean😂
"Instead of answering him, I captured his lips. It felt so good to massage his tongue again." Who talks like that? 😂
I liked the magic system and the way everyone was so accepting of Dino's sexuality and made him feel good about it.
But that's about that 😂 this had potential but it needed another round of editing. 2🌟 and I'm being generous.
Repetitive, as in the author decided to show AND tell—soooo many times I had to read things like “I wasn’t sure of x so I asked him. “Are you sure?”” Or a character stomps and yells and the author still thinks we need to read a sentence saying “she was pissed” like no duh we can tell just fine on our own thanks. Also repetitive as in the MCs saying how much they love each other (in their own heads, not even to each other). Aside from that, there were a couple sentences that just didn’t make sense at all. Characters acted dumb (Dino asked “what would you do?” to a character that had just spent paragraphs saying what he should do) and none are particularly likeable or memorable. I kept forgetting the names of the MCs because there’s no distinct voice or clear differentiation in how they think or speak. World building is weak—it was initially unclear if “vampires” referred to the literal beings or was being used metaphorically. The fact of paranormal secrecy was casually dropped more than 30% in. I guess since this is second in a series the author didn’t think to remind readers who anyone was (none of the characters were introduced which makes sense as far as not giving a whole backstory, but common practice is to reference epithetically who the character is (eg “Paddy, the red headed alpha who lead the pack with a gentle but stern command,” or something) for recurring readers—and given how much the author repeats themself within the same paragraphs, you’d think they’d repeat themself across books, too. MCs have basically no chemistry—spicy scene is more like ketchup than anything with actual heat—and they trade “I’m into you”s so early in that there’s like no stakes for their relationship (which I was struggling to be invested in anyway). This needed a lot more time in editing—it could have fixed inconsistencies like Greene/Green and strengthened characters and world building and cutting out the telling instead of showing etc.
This is book 2 of the Loving the Pack series and I was able to fully enjoy it without having read book 1 first. There is character carry over but it is written well enough that I could understand who was who without any difficulty. This is the story of Dino and Theo. Dino is a hybrid paranormal. He is part werewolf and part witch. While being okay with being a werewolf, he is completely denying his magical heritage. Dino and Theo met 10 years earlier and have been best friends ever since. Dino is a professional hockey player and Theo is also his agent. Theo is a wolf shifter and has a brilliant IQ. He represents many paranormal players as their agent but none so special as his best friend. Both want each other but both are afraid to ruin their friendship. With the help of a leather jacket with a built in compulsion spell, their world is turned upside down. Each would do anything to help the other and it is put to the test. I liked the chemistry and the history between Dino and Theo. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to read.
I received an ARC from Booksprout and am leaving my honest opinion.
I received a copy to do an ARC read for my honest opinion. Shifters with a magical element thrown in. For my tastes this was really short on the hockey aspect and heavy on the shifters/magic part. I didn't feel the first little intro chapter was necessary, though it could have made a cute little reader extra in a newsletter, perhaps. The grandmother kinda pissed me off, which I think she was supposed to for the most part (lol). Theo is cute characterization-wise and I did like the concept of the cat familiar thing. Also liked that the pack was supportive. A lot of the sex is fade to black, which left me feeling like we could have just skipped the lead-up to those scenes and instead inserted some extra domestic scenes (for example that Marvel lecture he was talking about? Would have liked to see him enjoy that after being bored by the other lecture. Maybe a little reverse boredom there? Who knows!)

Dino has been in love with his best friend, Theo for years but has done nothing as no on knows he is gay. For his twenty-fifth birthday his grandmother send him a present that has him confessing his feelings. He also tries to hide his half witch, not just a wolf shifter, but physical exertion is not helping burn of the magic energy any more.
Theo will not sit by and watch Dino die just to avoid magic, after reading the books sent by Dino's grandmother he may have found a way. It should bring them closer and will make Theo his anchor.
Will it work or will what happened to Dino's parents happen to them? I loved these two characters but were so used to looking out for each other.
I received an Advance Readers Copy of this book with no obligation to write a review.
I bought this when it was free on Amazon and being both a paranormal fan and a hockey fan, thought this would be a perfect book. It's book two of a spin-off series and I felt like I was missing far too much worldbuilding. I ended up DNF at 25%. There was no development of the MCs, even at this point of a book I should know them a little. I had no interest in continuing the story once they declared their feelings. There was no compulsion to find out more. The author didn't really seem to know why her one of her character's wanted to remain in the closest. Sadly this book ended up being a big nope for me.
There's a forced outing which some people may find disturbing.
This is a good story about best friends, werewolves and hockey players that become more to each other. It is a fairly quick read that is heartwarming MM romance. The story is about Theo and Dino. They first meet while Theo is on patrol for the pack. He sniffs out an unfamiliar someone or something. This is the start of a friendship. I don't usually pick up MM romances, not my cup of tea, but I did enjoy the story. I like the build between the characters and especially the surprise in the end.
This is the second book in this series and was a wonderful cute friends to lovers romance. It’s a good flowing storyline with chemistry that are like able and work well together. Theo and Dino were really cute together and I like watching their relationship grow. With the pack behind them werewolve shifters and hockey you can’t go wrong. An enjoyable read I recommend.

Theo and Dino. who are wolf shifters, have been best friends for ten years but were afraid to tell each other that they love each other. With the help of Dino's grand mother, they finally admit their love for each other. Dino is also half witch and Theo becomes his familiar so he can help him control his magic, I really enjoyed this book.
A enjoyable second book in this series Loving the Pack. The story flows well, easy to follow. The characters are likeable and fit well together. The book will keep you interested till the end. I am looking forward to read the next book.
This was such an amazing read, there was so much chemistry and entertainment in this book. Even though it is a shorter read there is true development of them to make their relationship work, there is plenty to keep your attention with this one.
Theo and Dino are wolf shifters. They met years ago and are roommates. They've had feelings for each other, but have never acted on it until they receive a jacket that makes them feel the truth. Now they're secret is out and they can be together.
