Sophia Bent is a contemporary romance author who loves to make people feel amazing with her HEAs gorgeous billionaires, alpha males with swag, and captivating romance stories. She loves to travel and enjoys good snoozing.

Izzy’s brother Dan is Cruz’s best friend. Izzy and Cruz had a passionate night tonight, then Izzy ran away. When she returns 4 years later, she has a 3-year-old son named Kyle. Cruz was the father, but she never told him. Cruz eventually wants to have a relationship with Izzy again. Both of them still are attracted to each other. But will she tell him Kyle is his son? Or will she let him find out on his own?
I don’t like not telling the man she slept with that they have a child together. Even if he says he doesn’t want children, he has the right to know and the obligation to support his child. That just doesn’t sit well with me. Izzy was being very immature about the situation, especially running away. As for fearing Dan would be angry, unless Izzy was not a grown up at the time, brothers have no business telling a sibling who they can and can’t be with. But will Izzy and Cruz get their HEA? I hope before anything moves in that direction that the two of them sit down and learn to communicate with each other, especially about the “big” things in life.
Cruz and Izzy had one night together when they were teenagers. In a bid to protect himself, Cruz pushed her away. Izzy ran away from her hometown and moved to New York shortly after. Fast forward five years and Izzy is back, and she has an adorable little boy in tow.
Cruz and Izzy's chemistry is still as strong as it was in the beginning, but both are jaded. Cruz from his upbringing and Izzy from that night and the resentment she harbors against her father for remarrying after her mothers death.
I loved their connection and the banter and sexual tension between them. It was clear from the start how much they cared about one another. They soon gave in to the clear pull they had to one another. And watching Cruz with Kyle? Heartmelting.
I had a few issues with Izzy. First was her continued refusal to tell Cruz that he had a son. And then for her to be upset with him when he found out on his own annoyed me as he had the right to be angry. She had continued to lie to him even while they had started up their relationship again. And second, was her resentment for her father finding love again after her mom died. It wasn't fair of her to expect him to be alone for the rest of his life. I highly doubt her mother would have wanted that for him. I am glad she came around in the end.
Overall, I found the story rather enjoyable, even with the aspects that annoyed me. I would definitely recommend this book!
Cruz is Izzy's brother's best friend, and he had a thing with Izzy before she left. Now some years later she is back and wants a job. Sparks reignite between them, and he keeps pushing her away. Her brother catches them kissing and still Cruz claims its a mistake. So, Izzy tries to stay clear of him besides work. Izzy has a secret that she hasn't share with anyone yet while she was gone she had her son. When she introduces him to everyone she doesn't mention his father. However, before she came back Cruz hired a P.I. to look for her and now he has discovered more of her secrets. Can they find a way to have a second chance? Will he be able to accept why she left?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

A wonderful story about second chances. Cruz and Izzy already know each other because Cruz is best friends with her brother. But after a night spent together, both drunk, he hurt her so much and broke her heart that she moved, not knowing that their drunken evening left a present. After a few years and a degree in marketing, she returns to work for her brother and Cruz's company. She also takes someone else with her beautiful son Kyle? What will Izzy tell that Kyle is their son or will she keep it to herself because she thinks he's still a playboy and can Cruz turn the tide and show he isn't and manage to win the hearts of Izzy and to win over his son Kyle? You will get answers to all these questions when you start reading the story.

This was a fun read, I'm starting to realize that I really enjoy the secret baby second chance tropes and this one is very well written. I love that the two have always been in love with each other though circumstances made one hurt the other, but as adults they can't seem to keep away from each other no matter how they try and vowed not to let the other person affect them. I also really liked Cruz's side of the story about his family and coming to terms with everything that had happened. And the parallels on how both Izzy and Cruz reunited with their families and then with each other. Cruz realizing he screwed up with Izzy and making the grand gesture even though he was injured is everything!.

Grumpy Baby Daddy. This book was great! It had everything a good book needs to keep me reading. There was a romantic story, a past history of the characters, and there were drama and suspense stories. Izzy, Dan, and Cruz were friends back in the day. Dan and Cruz are best friends and started a tech company. Izzy and Cruz shared a night together that caused a rift in their relationship and after that Izzy left for four years. She returned and needed a job. Cruz and Dan give her a job in their company, but it makes working hard because now they would have to see each other everyday. Izzy and Cruz were starting to get along until Cruz discovered a secret Izzy did not tell him. Can they get past the hurt of the secret or will it be the straw that breaks them? A great read!!
A Love That Was Never Lost - Sophia Bent has given us a well written book with scintillating intimate moments, a myriad of interesting characters, lots of drama and an intriguing storyline, that will keep every reader totally engrossed from the first to the last page. I went through so many emotions as I turned the pages and at times, I just wanted to hug Cruz and Izzy, so they could feel better, as their love surpassed all the baggage from their pasts. I totally loved reading this book and I recommend you add it to your reading library immediately.

Cruz and Izzy have a history and a one night stand where he tells her it can never happen again. He's close to her family and her brother Dan would not approve of them. Izzy runs away feeling rejected and when she returns 3 years later with her son, Kyle, asking for a job in her brother and Cruz's company. The chemistry between the two hasn't changed, if anything it's worse. Cruz can't commit because of a bad childhood thinking he is like his dad and Izzy sdoesnt want to tell him her secret if he's only using her. I loved the story and couldn't put it down, probably one of my favorites of Sophia thus far.
After a steamy one night stand, Izzy runs. She's MIA for four years. When she finally returns, she's not alone, but has a sweet little boy in tow.
Now, she needs a job, and gets one in her brother's company. The fact that his business partner and best friend Cruz is the baby daddy from that one hot night won't be an issue. She's got this. Yeah, no.
Things heat up again. All kinds of secrets are revealed. Will her heart get broken again when Cruz finds out he's a dad?
Lovely read with all kinds of drama and upheaval, followed my forgiveness and lots of love!.

Fantastic read, one of Sophia's best so far. Izzy & Cruz's path is not a smooth one. Four years ago we spent a passionate night & he proceeded to break my heart. Fast forward to present day, he's now my boss & my brothers best friend. The fire between us is undeniable. I thought this time it would be different but am I setting myself up for heartbreak again? What will he do when he finds out my secret? Worth 5 stars.

This is a brothers best friend, second chance romance.
Izzy and Cruz spend one night together as teens, but then Cruz pushes Izzy away to protect himself. Izzy ends up running away from her home and moves to New York. Years later she returns with her little boy, Cruz's son from their one night together. There is still chemistry between them but both have issues that they need to get over before they can be together.
I enjoyed reading this story and I would recommend it.

Cruz and Izzy kept getting their wires crossed and lost 4 years because of insecurities and misunderstandings. His past didn't stay in the past and hers was right there in her face to deal with. Lots of tears was shed and so were misconceptions of relationships past and present. I wasn't feeling the best friend marrying the dad either because, yeah, she just looked really thirsty!!! Loved his family reunion even though it came at a painful cost. Beware of the potty language.

Sophia Bent has written a sensitive story addressing the impacts of being raised in an abusive home and his mother's abandonment (Cruz), and the loss of a mother and her father's remarriage (Izzy). Cruz and Izzy are strong characters that overcome these issues and the challenge of Izzy's protective big brother to find their way to a HEA.

I love the names of the characters in this book. Izzy and Cruz. The cover is really sexy. I love that! Izzy and Cruz have a one night stand, and the next day she takes off. Life is complicated because Izzy’s brother Dan is Cruz’s best friend/ business partner. Izzy gets pregnant but doesn’t tell anyone even the father. Love can’t keep people away. She comes back and the chemistry is still there between these two. Such a great book!
Izzy is back but she has baggage. Four years, she left town because her crush broke her heart, she lost her mom and her dad is remarrying. Cruz was her brothers best friend and her crush. Now she’s working for Cruz and her brother. How will they pan out? And if they found out about her secret. Great book.

Story about Cruz & Izzy. They shared a passionate night together, but because Cruz told her it would never happen again. This plus the pain of losing her Mom and her Dad married her BFF shortly after her death, Izzy takes off basically without a word. Fast forward four years later and she returns with a secret …. A son in tow and her brother’s BFF that doesn’t know it’s his.

Not usually a fan of secret baby romances, especially when the father is so easily found, but I enjoyed this one. Cruz and Izzy are well written characters and I loved the chemistry and relationship with this story, I recommend reading this book if secret babies by brother's best friend is your trope.

I love a good second chance romance. Surprise kid with someone who refused for commitment due to his own personal/family issues. Crus refusing to let himself be happy because he’s scared of the outcome while Izzy ran because of being hurt. Coming back and be able to push through. Loved this story.

This secret baby romance is well-written and entertaining, Izzy disappeared several years previously without a word to anyone including her brothers best friend, Cruz who she has crushed on forever. Now, she back home and wants a job at Cruz' company. Plenty of drama and emotion throughout. Likable characters.
After disappearing for four years, Izzy finally returned with a child that no one knew anything about. She tries so hard to forget Cruz, but the sparks never left either of them. With lots of hard work to overcome his past, they are finally able to get their happily ever after.

This story entertained, kept me reading and had great characters. Cruz and izzy had loved each other for a long time without them telling each other how they felt, he didn't think he was good enough for her and she thought he didn't want her. It is a very heartwarming story you are sure to enjoy.

This story was about a young lady who decided to make it on her own without her family. She was mad with her father and the man she loved. When she returned, she had her life in order the way she wanted until she gave the man she loved another chance.
