This is a reverse harem, mafia/gang, mystery romance with plot twists/turns, steamy and smutty scenes, hot alpha-possessive-assholes, sweet love, and grungy content. Our FMC goes through it but she definitely has her come back. Her badassery comes through and she becomes a warrior with the support of her men behind her.

Ella
Ever since that day on the bridge two years ago, I’ve done everything in my power to change my life for the better. I have fought tooth and nail to climb out of the dark hole of depression that I had been living in. Finally, I found myself in a good place, until one day, I made a mistake that had repercussions I never saw coming.

I said yes.

Now, I’m once again in a difficult situation that I don’t know how to escape. I’m alone, scared, and broken. I’m doing everything I can to hold onto the good pieces of my life, small as they may be. But what am I supposed to do when no matter how hard I fight, outside forces keep knocking me back down?

How much worse can things get? And how and the world will I save myself this time when it’s not me I’m fighting against?

My ex is doing everything he can to destroy me and I have no idea how to escape to jerk. Until one day, I meet him, Gage Luna. He’s gorgeous, powerful, domineering and he makes me feel things I’ve never felt before. He introduces me to a world I never knew existed. It’s full of murder, mayhem, and his three hot as hell brothers.

Now torn between the demons of my past and the future that is begging for me to take it, I’m realizing there is no turning back from what’s in front of me.

I want it, and I’m damn well going to take it.

Gage
She’s unlike anyone I’ve ever met before. She’s a stunning little hellion and she’s got me in a chokehold.

From the moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she had the potential to bring me to my knees, and it seems my brother feels the same way.

We’ve allowed ourselves to get close to her and it’s never something either of us thought we would do. We don’t have relationships and women don’t fit in with our insane lives. But I find that I’m drawn to her and no matter how much I tell myself that it’s not a good idea, I can’t seem to let her go. Neither can Maddox.

Ella has secrets and it’s clear as day that she’s fighting a downhill battle. She has demons in her life that she’s doing her best to hide, but when they come out and seek to destroy her, she can’t keep her secret any longer.

She thinks she’s alone in all of this. She thinks there is no one more powerful than her enemies.

The problem is, she has no idea who I really am. Who we are.

Maddox, my brother, and our two best friends, Stone and Nyxon and myself, are the biggest monsters out there. And now that we’ve got Ella in our lives, no one will touch her but us.

We will burn the world for her.

I'm going to be straight right here and say that I never really got over the first 14% of this book. Maddox, one of the love interests, basically sexually assaults a girl in front of all the other guys who are love interests. It's summed up to him having flashbacks of his ex and forcing this girl to give him a blow job but come the fuck on. The girl's sobbing on the floor because in the middle of sex he decides to be a fucking creep and hold her down and force her. And then when he finally gets his rocks off that's when the other guys decide to step in and stop what's going on. They barely take care of the girl and her friend who were crying, instead deciding to go and coddle their bro. One of them even says that the girls that come back to play with them like it "rough." 🙂

What a fucking disgusting piece of shit take. So girls come back there with you guys anticipating getting forced into sex? And all his little buddies are just there to watch that happen?

Another issue I had was something that could have been resolved with an editor. A lot of the inner dialogue for these characters was rambling, going off in one direction before veering to another with no rhyme or reason. Some stuff was clumsily hinted at like that shit with Stone meeting Ella when she was 12??? Idk. It was weird. And the handling of the aftermath of Ella being raped, pissed on, and mutilated was... horrible to say the least. Like come the fuck on. They find her body absolutely defiled and the first thing Nyxon says is: "So how many of you guys fucked her?"

I want to cry I'm so fucking mad. What the actual fuck is that? If I remember correctly, there's still sex toys inside of her and that's what he's thinking about?

Not to mention that only a week or two later she's having an orgasm in the shower with one of the guys. Right after she was basically held hostage and tortured. Cool. Even though she was bleeding and it was hard to go to the bathroom? Cool. Coolcoolcoolcoolcool.

Just... if you're going to do rape scenes like this please God respect the trauma that occurs after.

Not a bad story, but seriously, the number of times they all talk about their damage, it's too much. I will continue, though. I need to see where it all is going to go. There are a lot of TW, so just be aware.

I’m real conflicted here. This book takes place two years after the novella. The h is now 21 and in a much different, not necessarily better, place than she was in the prequel. The guys are protective and possessive which I loved. She’s just met one for the first time and he drives her home because the thought of her taking a ride share by herself in the middle of the day kills him. 😍. Another buckles her into her seatbelt when they’re on a date. 🥰. I thought the author did a really good job with finding that balance between them being gentle, given that she’s beaten up for most of the story, and bulldozers. Right from the start I was intrigued with their dynamic and the storyline and the rawness to the writing style made the read emotionally impactful. That rawness had a major drawback though when it came to editing. It’s rough and that enhanced the read because it’s a dark story but causes a lot of issues too.

The story is detail rich which made it immersive but frustrating as hell when the author got those details wrong, San Francisco is NOT in Central California. As someone who lives in the Bay Area this made me rage. And ooo boy, does she get a lot of details wrong. It took me forever to finish this because I kept being pulled out of the story. The book needs editing really really badly. Like super badly.

So you know how I keep mentioning an editor? Well, hear this. Towards the end of the book the h gets beat, pissed on, cut up, choked, raped, and jizzed on by her ex boyfriend. It’s an incredibly graphic dark scene. She’s dying. The next scene is from one of the Hs POVs and it’s him jacking off in the fucking shower to an imagined scene of him and her where they are dirty talking each other!! Wtf!! The placement of these two scenes back to back was truly disturbing. My brain was absolutely rebelling. Does this author expect me to enjoy this *hot* scene? Right after such a violent one? I continued on with the read after that, and liked the drama with her BFF and the men, but I’m still so befuddled that I don’t know if I can move on because I just don’t trust the author to make this all right by the end.

"You may be a victim, cariño, but that doesn't make you weak."

Bex Dawn's writing just keeps getting better.

The obsession with her Los Diablos Syndicate series only grew with Burn.

Not even five minutes into reading, and I fell in love with them all.

My heart broke for Ella, her going through the worst imaginable, and having the guys be there for her despite everything? GOD TIER.

Even how just Ella and all the guys meet is such a show of their dynamics; the flirty and teasing. All the guys are amazing, and so different, in their own ways. You fall in love with everything about them, their quirks, habits.

I think my favorite is Gage. DONT QUOTE ME.

Burn was such an amazing book, and I can’t wait for Evolve.

“ ‘You like testing my patience don’t you cariño? Do you like being a brat or can you be a good girl for me?’ “

The repetitive internal monologue and constant over description of everyone's looks is... a lot. Parts I just skimmed because frankly I don't need a full page physical description of a man who has already had pages dedicated to his physical description. Sometimes characters will start their chapter in the present and then begin describing the recent past in a way that I found confusing.

I can't stand all of the "not like other girls"-ing and general woman hating. If you aren't the FMC you are a slut or an old fat nurse and either way you're not useful to The Men. Good heavens. Maddox sexually assaulting a girl with absolutely no consequences (it's ok because he's mentally ill!!) was a wild af choice especially considering how upset he gets about sexual assault of people he cares about. Real hero behavior there.

The overall idea of their pasts coming together is interesting and I am excited to see how Isabella is obviously treehouse girl (calling it now).

would have loved if the fmc didn’t have a fifty five page long monologue every five seconds, jesus christ. meets one of the mmcs and right in the middle of the conversation, she starts de#rubbing every little detail abt him as if i care?? i remember her doing this AGAIN to one of the mmcs in the book before like??? can she not have a proper conversation without thinking for five minutes? dnf’d at the part where she was talking abt every little scar, burn, imperfect she had on her body. i could not care less.

If I could rate this - stars I would. In what world are we rooting for a MMC who assaults women and refers to women as 'hella bitches'????? Absolutely no redeeming qualities for a single character in this book, I am baffled that this has any 5 star reviews. The inner monologues went on for pages at a time saying the same thing over and over. I have no clue why I stuck it out to the end.

Do yourself a favour and skip this one, all the bad reviews are right.

Thoughts:
- This book needs a good editor.
- The author gets lost in the small details. I don't need to know every step of her taking a shower.
- More show and less tell.
- Good premise
- likeable characters
This story has great potential but I found myself skimming the inner monologues. However I feel invested to at least move on to the next book.

*4.5 STARS*

Well well this was a fun one. I will say this was an addictive easy to read book. My only real complaint is I found myself a little annoyed at the FMC. I just don't know if she actually has a personality or not yet.

**Spoilers**
Little Ella was the constant victim in this book. She apparently was hella abused while in foster care though no true details were given in this book. She trauma bonded with her Foster-Brother Hunter. I don't know what it is about that guy but he gives me the ick. Maybe it's how much he's all over her. Or how he's constantly calling her "baby". He was just a little too clingy for me. Then he goes and kisses her and has a mental break down over it and ignores her. Okay you big daffodil.

Gage was the hot moody 2nd in command of the gang brother. I really struggled with wanting more distinct personalities between the guys. I sometimes struggled keeping them straight. I do appreciate Gage and his protectiveness. I wish we had more from him.

Maddox is a walking conundrum. He is super sweet and sensitive with Isabella but it feels as if his character is completely different away from her. It seem a little unrealistic that he could be both guys. He also has some major PTSD trauma that he needs to figure out asap. Him suffocating that poor girl on his cock really revulsed me.

It took for-fucking-ever but we finally figured out redwood is Nyxson. Then he has the worst reaction to meeting her. Which honestly, I think he's the smartest of the group. He realized he couldn't bring Ella in without putting her in danger. I appreciate that because, ya it seems really bad to be their girlfriend. Though pretending not to hurt her was taking it a little too far. I feel so sad they didn't get to have the sweet reunion I was picturing the whole time.

Our last dude is Stone, who spent almost the entirety of this book out of town. He has some childhood crush he can't get over which I'm pretty sure is Ella. So excited to see how that plays out in the next book. Maybe we'll actually get a little more insight into her life before she was 9.

Oh and I really hope they take their Dad down. He is one evil fucker.

Burn is book 1 in the Los Diablos Syndicate series. You need to read the prequel Crash before this as it helps sets the background for Ella. Throughout the story she meets the men separately until she realizes the guys know each other. She goes through a horrible event and the guys, Gage, Maddox, Nyxon, and Stone all come to help her through it. There are some very dark parts to Ella and the guys' stories, but not everything is tragic. Ends in a cliffhanger.

TW/Tropes: Self-injurious behavior/self-harm, Suicide talk/thoughts, therapy, depression/anxiety, violence, sexual trauma and abuse, human trafficking, physical and mental abuse, gaslighting, kidnapping, child abuse/sexual abuse past reference, death/murder, rape, drug/alcohol abuse, talk of addiction, motorcycle/ gang, slowburn

I got Burn as an ARC (advanced reader copy) and now i'm dying for more! This author is new and hot! The writing style is perfection and clearly this story has been well edited as it flowed easily from start to finish. Well done Bex, well done!

Seriously, this book (along with the prequel Crash will you hook you from the very first line. It is such a raw, emotional and seriously hot story that I read the entire book in one sitting. Cannot wait for #2 to come out!

Burn picks up 2 years after Crash leaves off with the story of Ella and her fight to survive her own life and mental health struggles. This story is packed with real twists and turns and we eventually/finally figure out what happens to Redwood from the Crash prequel. Burn is the first in a series of full length reverse harem novels that are part of the Los Diablos Syndicate which center around 4 hot alpha males; Maddox, Stone, Gage and Nyxon. We are left panting and wanting more.

"You may be a victim, carino, but that doesn't make you weak"

Please read the trigger warnings (i.e. non-con) before entering into this amazingly hot story. This is an extremely dark and twisted erotic romance that may not suit everyone's taste....me....give me more!

Let me start out by saying I enjoyed this book overall. It’s dark, doesn’t pull any punches, and spends a good amount of time on plot versus just focusing on romance. There’s a lot of potential here for a great story. I’m definitely picking up the next book and am eager to see how the guys develop! Maddox and Hunter are my favorites!

That said, there are some glaring issues with this book.
1 - grammar and punctuation. Everyone who proofread this should be ashamed. There are changes in tense that are literally jarring and even occur within the same sentence. Spelling mistakes and misused words like “vial” instead of “vile”. Missing punctuation, quotation marks, everything and it occurs on what felt like almost every page. It needs a good editor and proofreader desperately.

2 - so. much. inner monologue. It gets to the point where you can skip over several pages of inner character thoughts and have no impact on the story or perception of the character. It’s repetitive so if you’ve read one inner monologue, you’ve read them all. Even as the situations change the thoughts are all pretty much the same. Much could have been cut to shorten it.

3 - although focusing on the plot was good and I like a good build up to the romance, it’s kind of a fake slow-burn because most of the slow is just because she doesn’t actually meet the guys until the second half of the book. It’s still insta-love. With less inner monologue it wouldn’t have felt so drawn out and maybe I wouldn’t have skipped over the inner monologue to get to some actual dialogue hoping to finally move the story forward.

Lastly, this is a personal pet peeve but characters who are devastatingly injured experiencing sexual attraction is just so fake I have to roll my eyes and suspend my disbelief. There’s a lot of that in this book but if you’re capable of suspending (and a lot of RH readers are very forgiving in this aspect so I think it’ll be fine) you’ll enjoy this.

Despite these issues, I was able to enjoy it and I see the potential for a great story here. I will be diving right into the next book!

DNF @ 50%

Seriously way too overwritten. Multiple paragraphs describing how something or someone looks. Entire paragraphs just detailing every little action the character is taking. Why did it take 2 pages to detail a simple uneventful shower? At times I felt like I was reading a check list when the author would say ‘then they did this, then they did that, then, then, then….’

Please for the love of god, someone please remove the exclamation point key from the authors keyboard. Just go cold turkey, never look at it again. I have a strong hatred for the exclamation mark, but in some very rare cases, it can be warranted. But I’m talking 2, MAYBE 3 in the entire book. I’m not even joking when I say 1 character said a 3 line quote and there was 4 exclamation marks in there.

I kept reading because the times when the FMC and MMC were interacting was actually interesting and I thought I could handle getting through all the filler until the relationship started but how is it that this is the start of a why choose series, it’s at almost 50% and the FMC has had 1 interaction with 1 MMC, 2 interactions with the other MMC and hasn’t even met the other 2? At 50%?? I understand a slow burn, but good god, give us SOMETHING, even just a damn meet.

The same information being said over and over was so exhausting. ‘State of the art gym’ was said 3 times. Why do we need descriptions of the same scene from multiple characters? Once we know what the gym looks like, that’s it, it doesn’t need to be repeated. Also, the entire chapters of just the FMC wallowing about how shitty her past is was overdone, specially because I know we’re likely going to hear it explained again when she tells the MMCs.

Im super disappointed that I don’t like this authors writing style, I just gave Sin With Me 5 stars and was so ready to binge the authors back list.

So I’ll admit, I did read all the books currently out. I’m not one that can not finish a series unless it’s dreadful. So this rating is actually for the series. First of all, don’t ignore the tigger warnings. They are not exaggerated AT ALL. This is a very dark and detailed read. I’m not generally one for this dark, but that’s not the reason for the lower rating. I’d actually rate it lower, but I do enjoy several of the characters and the chemistry is well done. What knocked it down for me is the unbelievability of some things and predictability of others, as well as holes in the story. Granted, I pick up on more details than a lot of others, but I knew exactly what was going to happen and who certain people were all along. But yeah, things like rough sex scenes right after a BRUTAL assault, while the FMC still has broken ribs? Yeah…no. I don’t care how much you like it rough and trust the MCs, broken ribs have you not moving at all. Needing stitches for vaginal tearing is NOT going to make ANY sort of action pleasurable. That stuff isn’t believable. Yet she’s just going along as if nothing happened… And what the hell happened to Benny? They just decided he was no longer important once they were hooking up? The series had a lot of potential, but it needed to be laid out ahead of time and run by some decent alpha readers.

This was a book that seemed like a steady downwards slope, in my personal opinion. I fell in love with Ella in the pre-novella and was excited and eager to learn more about her story and overcome her past two years after the novella. A little under 50% is where I thought of not finishing because I skimmed the pages and lost interest. This is supposed to be a four man reverse harem, but it felt like an MFM with Gage and Maddox, which I would've been fine with because I enjoyed their POVs. The writing got childish or redundant in the book's second half, and even when Ella goes through this traumatizing experience with the ex Drew, her decision-making made zero sense. On one page, she is complaining that it hurts to pee and, on the next page, is okay with having a full-blown orgasm. After that, what frustrated me was the out of pocket chapter from Stone hinted that she's a long-lost child from his childhood that he met when he was 12?! Like what?

great story distracting typos

There’s so much potential in this book—damaged characters with intertwined pasts and the angst is *chefs kiss. I love an obsessed alpha-hole mafia romance, and Bella’s trauma was written in a believable way. There is one graphic scene of abuse that felt gratuitous but necessary (definitely heed the trigger warnings)

However, the grammatical and spelling errors are so distracting that I almost didn’t finish the book. There are misspelled words and missing and misplaced apostrophes galore. The author switches between present and past tense so often that I found myself red-penning the writing more than actually reading the book.

That being said, I’ve already downloaded the next book because I can’t wait to see how the characters’ relationships unfold.

DNF 10%. I liked the prequel novella, but I just couldn’t get into this. The writing was more telling than showing. There was a lot of rambling and inner thoughts. I feel like it could have been edited and made more concise. There were also times where the tense changed, which kind of bugged me. But the main thing is I just didn’t care about or connect with the MCs. Especially Gage. Omg. I couldn’t even finish his first POV chapter. Made me feel like I needed to shower. And where I felt for Ella in the prequel, she annoyed me in this to no end. I’m bummed, because I was looking forward to this and thought I’d be into it, but I don’t think this series is for me.😕

I didn't really get that it was a MC romance otherwise I wouldn't have started it🙄
As soon as I read the scene where the guys fucked bunnies/whores in the main room of their clubhouse in front of everybody, treating women as object it was it for me🤮 That's the main reason I don't read MC stories anymore. These behaviours are disgusting! And then the authors want to make us things that the guys are in fact good, and protective men just because they're in love with the FMC??!!? That's total bullsh*t!

Had high hopes from the prequel. This is a very slow burn with a lot of repetitive explanations and backstory that had me skimming mid-book. Will give the next one a try just because I’m curious about Stone who hasn’t really been introduced yet. Interested to see these characters’ relationship development (fingers crossed)

Ella's life has been anything but smooth sailing. She came from a broken foster home of abuse and entered into an abusive relationship with the governor's son. She is a walking victim and she is sick of it. It is time that Ella took back her life like she was always meant to. She decides to end things with her on again, off again boyfriend and start to heal. Along the way she runs into Gage Luna. A handsome, domineering adoptive grandson of one of her favorite patients at the hospital she volunteers at. Before she knows it she is fast friends with Gage and is fighting off the mounting attraction. But her ex will not be so easily discarded. He attacks Ella which she narrowly escapes. After that she is even more determined to be able to take care of herself. So she starts a self defense class at Gage's gym where she runs into his younger brother, Maddox. The sparks fly with Maddox as much as they did with Gage and it leaves Ella reeling. But when her ex pops up again, will Ella be able to make it out alive?

I do love that the Luna brothers are polar opposites. Gage is stoic and a growly primal dominant whereas Maddox is a carefree, easy-going type. They provide different types of support for the many situations that Ella finds herself in. I always have a soft spot for a quiet, broody dominant male though so Gage has my heart but Maddox is not sap either. He is lighthearted and keeps things from being too serious for Ella when she needs to just kinda decompress.

Some of the downfalls of the story and why I did feel like I slogged through it a bit was because the author went so heavy on the backstory for every single moment in time that it prolonged experiences. For instance, they were going for dinner at a taco truck and it took several pages of back story before they even reached their destination. It is just too much. Too much internal monologue, too much description of every single iota of background. It got tedious and it happened at least a dozen times throughout the book. Sometimes it would have been nice for there just be some conversation and not just a bunch of filler.

However, the story does have a good foundation and it does make me wonder about some of the connections between Ella and the guys that have yet to be discovered as well as the reason for her abuse. It feels like we will be able to unlock some of Ella's memories and of the past she has blocked out over the course of the series and I, for one, can't wait to see what happens.

I am so in love with the Los Diablos Syndicate world!

Burn is book #1 in the Los Diablos Syndicate series. I think you should read the prequel Crash before this. It helps understand more. This is a dark, mafia/gang reverse harem. Make sure to read the trigger warning!

Its been 2 years since Ella has seen her "Redwood"(explained in Crash)and she isn't in a great place. Her boyfriend Drew treats her like crap, she is still dealing with trauma from her past, and she just wants some joy in her life.

Then she meets some guys that make her feel alive. First, Gage, that she meets while volunteering. He runs a gym with his brothers and some other things 😉. Next she meets Maddox, Gages brother and he is instantly enamoured with Ella. Nyxon is the third guy she meets from their group, and she gets a surprise when she sees him. She hasnt met their friend Stone yet and I cant wait for that!

Ella has been through so much and has the scars to prove it. Thank God she has her best friend Hunter. He helps her so much, but it gets complicated when some feelings get involved. After something horrible happens to Ella, the guys promise to take care of her and protect her, but she doesn't know everything about them, and it could ruin what they have.

And that cliffhanger!?!?! I am dying!!

I am so in love with this world and these characters!! @bexdawnwrites , Burn is absolutely INCREDIBLE and this series is gonna be EPIC, i can't already tell!!

Hot!

I read the prequel Crash first by accident and immediately put Burn on my TBR list with a reminder on my calendar for the release date! I was captivated by the short story that gives you insight to a beautifully broken young woman, whom is traumatized, frightened, emotionally beat down. I am so drawn to the character, I feel her on a level that few can relate too. I am floored by the evilness that she must endure again in this book. I am head over heels in love with her best friend and their beautiful friendship (although I think there is more to it than the book let’s on) but when even that fails to protect or rescue her when she needed it most in walk the 4 men up for the task “the devils”. This girl does not stand a chance with her heart with these 4, they are going to dominate, possess, and devour her before she even knows it’s happening. They are going to Burn the world down for her to keep her safe and I am along for this ride! I can’t wait to see this frightened, tormented, damaged girl come out of her shell and rise up and join these men of hers in their war against the evilness they are on a mission to destroy! She is going to be one badass QUEEN! I am amazed when I read at the end that this is being written by a “baby” author, because this book is very well articulated and storyline stayed very smooth and everything transitioned easily in the plot lines. I am looking forward to the 2nd book which is on my TBR and in my calendar reminders!

It’s honestly a shame because this book/series could be really good!

The writing is terrible - so many typos and basic spelling mistakes; SO much telling versus showing; the internal monologues go on forever; incredibly repetitive - as in the same sentiment and feeling will be repeated 3 times in 3 paragraphs within the same page. There’s a lot of reviews saying this and I urge you to believe them!!

There are 4 books + a novella where each of the full length books are about 400 pages each. Honestly this series could’ve easily been condensed to ONE 400 page book maximum.

I find it incredibly frustrating when authors stretch out their storylines of the same couple into multiple books with big cliffhangers. This is something Addison Cain also does quite a bit which is frustrating and seems like a way to make more money. Honestly I’d rather one solid book with a higher price than 4+ long books that are honestly a waste of everyone's time.

2 stars as i liked the premise, plot/story overall (tho a lot of it was a bit predictable), but if it werent for everything above this couldve been a powerful story on trauma recovery and PTSD.

i hope the author will consider getting a proper editor and condensing the story into 1 or maximum two book arc and republishing it. so much wasted potential otherwise.

Wow! Mind blowing! Hot, steamy and so much angst!

This book is the first, well the second if you count Crash the short that starts out the series which you shouldn't skip. The POV is Ella's and she's just incredible! What this woman goes through is heartbreaking! Spoiler Alert *** There's a rape scene that really really got to me but it was done because lets face it Rape by an abusive ex is ultra violent and not at all sexy! These guys are definitely involved in some horrific crap...however they aren't horrible and heartless men and I cannot wait to hear more about them...still in the dark about Ella's past but I have an idea who might be involved in turning that key to that locked secret...Stone is being introduced and he's struggling with a girl he lost???? Hmmmm it ends on a cliffhanger, of course.. I have read Bex Dawn books before and she's incredible! If you haven't read these and if you have she's really giving this her best! It's a face paced book and the character development is perfection! I'm off to the next book! Enjoy this ride my dark read friends 💔💥😈!

it was good but…

This book is very interesting. A good plot and storyline. A whole lot in the dark that you just want to uncover. The relationship dynamics are interesting and the friendships seem more realistic. Some of the scenes were kind of cringey. SPOILER ALERT***
The heavy petting in front of her best friend. I know it was a make out scene but good god they hadn’t even established anything yet and that’s how they give their first kiss? It was weird. A lot of the internal dialogue is definitely not needed and made the story drag. I skimmed through a lot of that. I love Ella and her struggles and that’s the only reason I will continue. Just some of the scenes have my cringing so hard. Like her basically losing sight of everything around her ALL the time when she sees them. In any other book it’d make sense to me, but because of her past, you’d think she’d have better self preservation or put up more of a fight. Make the men work for it. I don’t know. I enjoyed it but if the weird scenes continue in the next book it will be another DNF for me which will really suck. I have high hopes

Why Choose // MF + MFM // Dual POV // Alphahole // Dark Romance // Mafia/Gang Romance //Touch her you die // Cliffhanger

Burn is book one of the Los Diablos Syndicate Series and continues on from the prequel novella, Crash.

This book has a lot of triggers and will not be for everyone, and that is perfectly OK.
If you aren’t easily triggered and can read some fairly dark scenes, then you’ll enjoy the book.

Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed Burn and have continued to read the series.

I was immediately drawn to Ella’s character and her personal struggles in both Crash and Burn. My heart absolutely broke for her in so many ways. However, I slowly started to piece it back together. I loved seeing Ella’s character development and the person she started to become. I absolutely love Gage and Madd and their love for her too.

This series is a rollercoaster of emotions, and I’m really looking forward to finishing it!

Burn LDS book one

Lots to unpack. I know this is a series, so I expected book one to end on a cliffhanger, but babes, this book was rough.
Let's start with the background
Ella FMC is a 21-year-old who has lived a rough, rough life. Prior abused foster kid got adopted into a great family but feels guilt over leaving her foster siblings in the bad situation. She also doesn't remember the first 9ish years of her life.
Our guys- Gage and the oldest, Maddox, Nyx and Stone. All bothers in the sense that they grew up and are not in the best situation. Gage and Maddox are actual brothers.
Other main characters Hunter is Ella's prior foster brother and best friend, and Drew, her toxic ex that causes so many problems.
This book did a great job building the story and characters up. What happens to Ella breaks your heart a little. She can't catch a break.
They are some dark scenes, so I suggest reading your triggers. I'm curious to see how this unfolds.
For romance girls, there is building nothing significant with the main characters.

I don't want to say I loved these guys right away, but I did... don't judge me. They're all so different and really match Ella and are great in their own ways.

I was so happy to see that Burn was available after I finished reading Crash, I was reading to jump right back into Ella's life. I was immediately drawn to Ella and what she's gone through and all of the emotions she's feeling.

I originally liked her best friend but with all of the evils of this book, we know not everything as it seems at surface level. The 4 guys come in and rescue her from the hell she was currently going through. I like that Ella had an instant connection to Maddox & Gage, it was so different but perfect for what she needed. Nyx was definitely a bit of a jerk and I’m interested to see where that goes & Stone he’ll be the most interesting for this merry band.

This series is definitely going to get more intense & crazy the more it goes on I’m sure! Can’t wait for the rest!
