MMC Logan is a army vet who has taken over his dads construction company. He suffers from PTSD. He is very possessive, obsessive and protective. His youngest brother Liam followed him into the army and got killed and Logan has not dealt with the loss of his brother.

This was so hot and spicy, the smut was on point. I just need to know where to find my own Logan ♥️

Logan reads Shiloh’s kindle, takes notes to find out what she likes and orders stuff to make her fantasies come to life. He literally bought tools that he didn't quite possess on his own, just to make her fantasies come true. 🔥🔥

Her ex husband shows up to the bar and tries to shame her for how she is dress and Logan praises her body in front of everyone and beats the dudes ass.

This felt like a fever dream but it worked? I mean this was a contemporary novel but somehow a knotting kink was thrown in there? Like how the fuck...??? What the fuck???? Not that I actually care since I gave this 4 stars 😂 Also the cover keeps tricking me into thinking I'm looking at the back of the guy that played the Joker in Gotham and it's kind of freaking me out.

Is this book being serious?

Kinky, trashy steamy reads might not be literary masterpieces, but they have a place and a reason to be. The very nature of their ridiculousness is what make them such an awesome escape read.

This book is written like one, but they way the author crams every human issue imaginable, it seems as if she might want you to take it seriously.

This book is all about insta love, caveman mmc, annoying fmc and breeding(author made that very clear by mentioning it in every other sentence).

This is insta-lovey. Although I would have wished for a slower development, it didn’t really bother me.

Logan is obssessed with his girl. He would do anything to make her happy. My guy got up earlier for work just to turn up the heat and prepare coffee for who he saw as his future wife since the day they met. I loved Shiloh, she was such a sweetheart and she did not deserve all shit she had to go through with her ex-husband. I really liked how both mc’s could be vulnerable with each other at all times.

I’m not going to spoil anything but, if you’re looking for a fast-paced, insta-love novella with a whole lot of spice, this book is for you!!

Shiloh is an absolute queen and Logan is the perfect mix of sweet and possessive. They are absolutely perfect for each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed Cracked Foundation and cannot wait for the next book in the series!

When I tell you I'm bummed, if this had been a novella I'd have rated it 5 stars but it was too long for what it is.

The h was a preschool teacher who quit after a miscarriage and divorce. She meets a stranger in a bar and his friend hooks her up with a job as assistant to his brother who runs the family's construction company. From the beginning there's an intense spark between them but he's a bit of a grump asshole.....when her house is flooded however he moves her in and sets about convincing her to stay...... forever

I loved this H so damn much!!!! He was an ass but he was gone for her from the first meet. He just lost his power if speech and proper communication skills as his blood flow headed south 😂😂😂😂
My issue was with the h, I get it suffering a miscarriage and her fertility issues is so hard to deal with. But my problem with her was her constantly doubting the H because of her size and the shit her ex said to her. Like ms girlllll this man worships every thickalicious inch of you, big thighs, big arms and the fricking belly too bitch wtf do you want again!!!!!! Take him love him and stfu 😒
One of the things that really annoys me is to have a H like this one and the h just can't imagine he wants forever with her......the only thing this man didn't do was stamp her name on his forehead gosh dammit!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Now see if it was shorter some of those scenes may have been cut out and I'd have enjoyed this way more than I did man.

Wasn’t sure how they were going to pull A/B/O vibes into this one without being a PNR but was very pleasantly surprised when she’s a smutty reader of shifter romances and Logan is an OTT man obsessed enough to read her favorite books and highlighted sections on her kindle and then purchased wearable knots to fulfill her fantasies!

I don't get with my obsessive fixation for bulldozer heros. Who just gets his eyes on you and that instant moment will be it for him , you become it for him, the prime object of all his desires, his possessiveness, his everything. he will kill, steal, cheat, and lie, do anything in his power to have you by his side just because he wants to worship you, wants to love you , will give you his everything if you ask and will stop at nothing but to protect you with his dear life most importantly He Respects you. He also wants to defile you, own your body heart soul, breed you, corrupt you with his aura and believe me, you 'll crave these things before he even starts to do his magic, it's the weird aphrodisiacs speciality of them. The beginning of this is so promising. We meet a 33 year old divorcee FMC who struggles with body image and PCOS/infertility. This book had the potential to be impactful and to be a hopeful and a different kind of romance book but instead it’s offensive. What was the point of making the FMC struggle with infertility if that information was only going to be background information that is never seen on page. This was a wasted opportunity to feature a unique story with real struggles couples go through and showcase a relationship built on supporting each other through it all but what we get is a dude with a breeding kink instantly getting her pregnant with twins and bragging about how potent his sperm is.

This dude acts more like a wild animal than a person. Why is this man, in a Contemporary Romance, growling so much?!

Is this is a contemporary romance, or is this fantasy smut? This book tried to be both and it didn’t work.

This book is a bunch of erotic tropes thrown in a crockpot. The lack of tension between the characters was lazy storytelling. There is barely a plot here. For a work place romance most of this book is spent not at the workplace nor does the workplace play any significant role except to traumatize the MMC at the end. Plot conflict of the MMC being the FMC’s boss? HR and conflict of interest doesn’t exist in this book.

Most of this book is repetitive scenes of one character lusting over the other one. I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum but the intimate scenes were cringe—not because of the kinks but because they were so poorly written. This is just a badly made porno in a trench coat. At the 70% mark i just started glossing over the smut scenes. This is a prime example of too much of a good thing ruining the thing that’s supposed to make it good.

Her ex-husband lied and told her he wanted kids and he was glad when heroine had a miscarriage.

We follow Shiloh, a 33 year old divorcee, who has had her fair share of unfair shit happening in her life. But it seems luck is turning around when her flirting with a gay bartender turns into a job offer working for Logan, who just so happens is ready to settle down and start a family and his eyes are set on Shiloh.

I would like to start out by saying this has to be one my favourite reads! I really hesitated reading this book, but finally went for it and I wish I didn’t wait so long. I honestly think that this book was perfection (my opinion). I felt so bad for Shiloh, and everything she has dealt with including her health issues. But it’s real life. Logan was absolutely dreamy. He was a wonderful book character and became a top book boyfriend for me. His dirty mouth had me going crazy. And the spice reads in this book were perfect 👌🏼. These two were absolutely perfect for each other.

I’m so happy that this ended up not being a novella - I don’t think I could have handled it being a novella.

The first1/3 is a bit too forced to make this connection between strangers just to introduce her to another stranger. Also, lots and lots of exposition to fill us in on all her problems. I almost DNF’d but started skimming a lil until things really picked up.

Once Shiloh and Logan get into their flow it is HOT and steamy and fckn ADORABLE.

I read an Omegaverse that wasn’t an Omegaverse which is actually pretty wild and totally fine.

Read it in one sitting and have no hesitations recommending it to besties who like sweet growly alphas with a double side of breeding kink.

Logan totally understood the assignment.

The smut in this was incredibly spicy. I loved that he basically did research, and then, the most important part. Implemented it!

There was some sappy sad parts, but mostly this was just super freaking sweet and sexy.

Toys were a big part of this couple’s lives, and I was so here for it.
Plus there was nesting and marking…it was basically an omegaverse brought into reality by one very attentive, possessive man.

So good.
I can’t wait to see what the next book in this series is like.

edit (12/31/22): I was feeling some fomo and people kept bringing up this book so I thought I would say never say never and finish this book......

If you push past the drunk, soggy, annoying h getting sloppy drunk, then you have to get past the part of her getting a job with a random resturant chef's brother. She is at this empty office that he's never at. Logan stops by to the office of his family construction company and falls instalust over shiloh and honestly, he was the only thing saving this book. Dirty mouth, tall, red head and likes to lift shiloh around even though she complains that he'll drop her or that shes too heavy.

there isn't much to this story besides her having a failed marriage and H having PTSD from being in the army? and losing his brother. so if you're good with that, you'll enjoy this book. There was literally nothing else going on with this story. whomp whomp

This touched on the PCOS issue that causes fertility issues (me included) and I don't see it often so it was nice to see. and the epilogue was so cute to see how he feels so proud to knock her up with his super spermm.

and oh! its not pnr but there is mucho talk about knotting and tentacles and such per dildos and sex toys haha. hes not a werewolf who shifts. it was a little weird that its not pnr but they pretend they are *shrug* he starts reading her kindle books about pnr and its hilarious. best part of this book

I received Cracked Foundation as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is one that I will buy in paperback to read over and over and over. SO good and SO hot!

Bex Dawn is hands down one of my favourite authors. She brings the heat to every work she publishes but never compromises on the story. I love that you get pure filth but also a beautiful plot with amazingly well developed characters.

Cracked foundation is the story of Shiloah, a 33 year old plus sized divorcee who has been dealt a rough hand of abusive and crappy exes along with health complications that have made life go from bad to worse. In comes Logan, a rough and tough mountain man who is 38 and ready to start his life when he meets the FMC.

Cracked foundation is a wild journey for these characters through life and love. Be fair warned that there are a host of trigger warnings including pregnancy loss but we are guaranteed with a HEA in the end with these two.

If you are into breeding, knotting kink (think shifter)or daddy kink this should rise to the top of your list immediately.

This beautiful story follows Shiloh, who’s recently divorced & out of a job. & Logan, a lumbersnack contractor running his family business. In a, fortunate circumstance for one, unfortunate for the other 😂, Shiloh ends up as Logan’s office assistance & the tension & connection just leaps off the pages!!

We get to take a journey with Logan as he finds his most perfect woman that he hadn’t stopped waiting for to make his perfect dream life happen & Shiloh as she battles some hardcore insecurities & body images issues brought on by her ex. These two are really perfect for each other but it’s happening so fast & they both have past traumas to share that they fear might end everything!!
I don’t want to spoil anything but please check your trigger warnings, there are quiet a few highly real life sensitive topics brought to light in this book. Beautifully beautifully written from a place of experience by the author, that she said was so cathartic for her & it shows!! The love & pain was so well executed I couldn’t get enough of them!!

Just… no. This crossed the line from body positive fat girl fiction to male with fat fetish fiction. It was way too much. Until the last couple of chapters, he was obsessed with her body and there wasn’t much conversation or meaningful interaction. It was sweet he found her kinks and participated eagerly, but it wasn’t enough to save the book to me. Every time I read a book that has a sassy-fat-girl (tm) put her hands on her hips and talk back to the MMC while he instantly falls in love, it just makes me cringe. Also, the amount of times someone yelled, screeched, barked, or raised their voice made me wonder if hearing loss ran in the family. The smut was meh. The h was ridiculous. Crying constantly, then randomly being sassy, and speaking her thoughts out loud randomly. I guess she’s supposed to be quirky? The H wasn’t much better. Just aggressive and jealous to the point of weird. He was internally jealous and upset at a female gyno trying to give her an ultrasound. Not romantic. Just creepy cringey crap.

Three stars for Logan. He was honestly the best part of this book. He was everything I want in a book boyfriend. OTT and willing to do anything to keep his woman happy.

Everything else was okay and the beginning was pretty cringy. However, I'm interested in the next book. I just hope it was a fast paced as this one.

A Knotty Good Time

I grabbed this book after seeing a promo for it on social media...so my first book by the author. It was the PCOS and infertility struggles mentioned that sold it for me.

I love when I can connect to the story in that kind of way. Shiloh was a character I could identify with in so many different aspects.

Logan was growly, grumpy, and standoffish until he was all in...and then he was ALL in. He fell fast, he fell hard, and it was on!

Shiloh being a romance reader and as a result having some preferences 🍆 ahem...was a blast and a hoot...and Logan's "support" of those interests, yup, epic!

So glad I tried this book and author!

There’s nothing phenomenal about this book, but yet it still worked. I needed a palate cleanser after my last read and this fit the bill. It is pretty much pure smut and every kind of kink you can imagine, yet the underlying development of the FMC is still sprinkled in there. Great representation with a plus size FMC, fertility struggles, and PCOS. It’s cute, bubbly, not a lot of drama-worth a read!
