The Range Rider: The Orphan: A Sixth Western Adventure

Rate this book
The sixth adventure in a brand new series from Mike Mackessy!

Jarod Walsh, an ex-Texas Ranger and U.S. Marshal, now carries a badge issued by the governor of Texas. Jarod brings in outlaws, causing the state of Texas the worst headaches. This time Jarod is on his way home to his ranch on the Devil’s River and to his wife, Mary Kate. Making a stop in a small town, he rescues an orphan, lost and on his own. Jarod takes him from the local sheriff on his ride home, except Nature has something different in store for Jarod.

Escaping a tornado, Jarod rescues an orphanage and their caretakers ruined by the winds and preyed upon by bullies. Jarod crosses paths with a family using the older orphans as field workers. He also has another run-in with the outlaws he has been chasing since the end of the war. Jarod does what he does best—righting wrongs and helping others.

Neither a selfish family, a firmly establish outlaw gang, nor Nature itself, will stop Jarod, once he is on the case. Enjoy the story as Jarod transforms wrongs and helps those who cannot help themselves.

very choppy

This story is hard to read. Main character is good. Adventure is okay but reading does not flow. It is like the author is texting the words words are missing or incorrect. Short choppy sentences that do not flow. Parts of a paragraphs say one thing and then down the road a different paragraph has the same people doing different things than what it said before. Little too confusing
