Titan Mage #2

Titan Mage Ruin

Rate this book
A monster-infested ruin? A dangerous bounty? A missing archaeologist? Sign this crew up for adventure!

It’s been one month since Locke was reborn on the world of Haven, and he’s still learning his way around. But his magic powers, giant mech, and brand new buff body definitely help. Not to mention his three gorgeous crew mates—Captain Alyssa, fellow Titan Mage Ember, and Chief Engineer Bexley—are determined to … help him get used to it.

He’ll have to get used to it all fast, though, because their next bounty is a tough and personal one. An entire expedition has vanished at the site of an ancient ruin.

An expedition including Ember’s mother, Erudicia.

This is no small task. On Haven, ruins involve more than lost history. They mean valuable artifacts, ruthless bandits, and magically-mutated monsters, and though Haven’s leading research society usually looks after its own missing crews … for some reason, it’s in no hurry to find Erudicia’s.

Locke suspects Ember knows why this particular expedition has been abandoned. He also senses she fears what she might face when forced to reunite with her estranged family. But Ember’s not one to let a little fear stand in her way, and neither is Locke. Not when they have their badass mechs called Titans on their side.

Still, questions remain: What caused the rift in Ember’s family? Why was the entire expedition abandoned? What kind of monsters lurk in that ruin? And have Locke and Ember upgraded their Titans enough to survive the trial to come?

WARNING: Titan Mage Ruin is a fun fantasy adventure containing steam both punk and smutty: voluptuous airship captains, eager engineers, and lascivious mech pilots. (So don’t read it and then complain about the spice. Y’all know exactly what you’re getting into.)

Holy Gary Gygax, Batman!
Welcome back to Haven!
A month has passed since Locke's new life (and new body) got started up, he's still trying to figure it all out. Captain Alyssa, fellow Titan Mage Ember, and Chief Engineer Bexley are right there to *help* him do just that.
Ruin is the second entry for the Titan Mage series (there is a short story out that precedes this book--you don't have to read it beforehand--but you should). Locke and the lovely ladies of the Blue Heron have wrapped up work on their latest gig, and need to find a new job--preferably something that pays well.
Even on Haven, Murphy's Law seems to rule the day though.
Ember Q'Van is suddenly emphatic that they take a gig that is A) Too-far away and B) Underpaying... buckle up and take flight with Harper's Harriers as they try to figure out what the heck is caused an expedition to up and vanish, and why the Magical Academy is less than enthused about finding out.
A fun romp in a world that won me over with gobs of Mech-mayhem from Book One and continues to draw me in.

The story is written by the seat of the author’s pants. There is no plot order or story arcs. It’s just
one idea after the other without any organization or planning. Main character was killed by an
ancient looking witch like person, (Peth), who then took his soul and created Locke in another
world/another dimension. Peth really has amnesia, while Locke uses amnesia as an excuse not to
reveal that his mind (and past) are from another world, and in that other world he no longer lives.
So, in general, the author uses “amnesia” to fill up all the obvious and nasty plot holes in her story.
Peth doesn’t help Locke drive his Meccha, nor does she help him, guide him in this other world. At
least to the second book, Peth’s role in this other world is not known.
The characters have not been really described in-depth, nor has this world been explained.
Although this second book has a “Prologue”, the recap of the story was told, after the first
adventure ended. There is little described about the main character. Almost none of his physical or
personality traits are described. The same occurs with the all female-retinue-team.
The author found an out to the sexual harassment-sexual enslavement of the main character
Locke, by a group of women adventurers on Titan Mage (meccha/robots). The owner of the
Harper’s Harriers (mercenary/adventurer group that uses Titan Mages) proposed joint ownership
of her company with Locke (so as not to have him in a sexual harassment/sexual enslavement
position he was in previously).
The thing about the Titan Mages is that they are small 20-25 foot Mecchas (Robots) that don’t
really have any magical abilities. These Titan Mages supposedly have elemental magic parts, but
shoot out lasers. They use a kind of Mana, Aether, energy, from the environment to function, but
usually Mecchas do not have furnaces, they have engines or power cores/batteries to power
them. Only Smithies, trains, old ships use furnaces to power the motion of their “vehicles”.
Another thing, this is really not a “steampunk” novel series, there are no “steampunk” novel
aspects so those conditions are not met. There are no steampunk machines, costumes, or
artifacts/inventions. So in a world of small fighting robots (Mecchas), with over-sexualized women,
the place seems ideal for the main character, more than somewhere to be
successful/famous/powerful, it is reduced to the theme of wet dreams and bad porn.
The women in this Science-Fiction novel series are hypersexualized, like some people are now
addicted to internet porn. So, everything is related to sex, even if in reality it isn’t. People that
prioritize sex are just less emotionally intelligent, more focused on the basic physiological needs
(eat, sh*t, and sex). Their motivations are truly instinctual.
This story is extremely shallow, the author uses “oysters in the food”, as aphrodisiacs, not on
Earth, but in this other world. As if the biological beings were present everywhere in the
universe/multiverse. So, instead of “inventing” aphrodisiacs in this other world, the author had
some oysters sent from Earth to help out with the arousal of the main character and the extremely
horny-female-crew.
The priority of this Sci-Fi novel series are the adult situations and sexual encounters. The actual
story is just left-overs. The thing is, does this story have actual/real harem-like conditions to have a harem-like story? Is the main character powerful? Is he affluent? Is he famous? Is he charming,
does he have special charisma-abilities? Is he handsome/Athletic/well-endowed? Are there magical spells that control the will his female partners? I feel at times that the main character in
this story could be replaced by any sexual device (dildo) or any other character driving the meccha
(the feline chef) and the women of this crew would still get off any way that they can (and
probably a lot by themselves). So, in this story series, the harem conditions are forced and there is
no story to back up the purpose of the author to create a harem, because in all the story is shallow
and weak and the book length is small. The main character was killed off on Earth, but the author
never really explained the necessity of this either. So, the main character is in another world
banging-his-brains-out, but he no longer has a biological body and is piloting a 20 foot robot, just
because…

I just finished the Ultimate Supreme Hyper-Mega edition of Titan Mage and this is my totally original  and not plagiarized at all, review.

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to dissolve the physical bonds that connects one with their home universe and to assume the powers of Titan Magery sufficient to defend a totally different universe and live on a ship with five hot women who all really appreciate his new body.

We hold the truth, that this is some kind of "Harem story" to be self evident, and that the male protagonist was not created equally, that they were endowed with impressive "attributes" by the imagination of someone with hair that is most likely purple.

I wasn't completely sure what to expect, as I had never read a Harem Fantasy before, but being "not dumb"  and also knowing the meaning of lots of words, had a pretty good idea of what I was going to read.  (Side note: I'm not exactly a prude, but I am definitely a happily married monogamist who is uncomfortable with the whole "Harem" thing.)  That said, I did skip through the "Haremy" parts of the story, although I'm certain they were as well written as the rest of the book(s) were.

All the "Haremy" stuff aside, this was an incredibly well written and enjoyable series to read.  The story moved along at a good pace and I cared about what happened to the characters.  Some reviews said this was predictable, but to them I say "all well-written stories are predictable because the author can't very well just kill off all of their main characters randomly, you numpty."  The trope of this book requires that the main character becomes very powerful and ultimately wins, because how pissed off would everyone be if the bad guy ultimately won?"  The only thing that matters is if you enjoyed the story along way, and I did.  Is it Anna Karenina?  No.  Of course, it never tried to be.  In fact, I would say it is the least "Anna Kareninay" book I have ever read and it takes not being Anna Karenina to new and wonderful heights.  Furthermore, it is also not Great Expectations, but if you have great expectations when you start you will not be disappointed. (Provided you're not a numpty with unrealistic great expectations.)

What is not to love about giant robots stomping around killing stuff?  Nothing.  Nothing at all.

If I were pressed to find a fault, it would be that there are no tacos, but they do have great brisket so I figure that eventually someone there will figure it out and become the most powerful person on the planet.

I recommend you give this series a try and if, like me, you're not into the whole "Harem" thing, use your fingers and just turn the pages until those sections are done.  I submit that is what fingers were made for.

At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.

Genre: Isekai progression sci-fi Harem with mercenary magician mechs

Power dynamics in harem: Girl in Harem is boss, girls desire MC
Explicit/adult material: Explicit and good.

Summary:
Locke and his crew of sexy women see a bounty for saving Embers mom of all people. She was working at an archaeological site when all contact was lost.
When they arrive at Ember's home town, they are greeted by Embers brother greets who join them on their action filled journey to discover what happened to Embers mom.

Narrators
Voice diversity: The voices are diverse and recognizable
Pacing and intonation: The story is told engagingly and carries you away
Sex scenes: Well done.

Overall: 4.5 / 5 stars.

The book’s strengths.
- The titans are cool. Who doesn't love a mech
- I enjoyed the contrast of culture experienced when arriving at embers home town
- I love how the story is building around getting to know Embers family and background, really getting to know who she is and why.
- The narration

The book’s weaknesses.
- No weaknesses come to mind. I look forward to the next instalment in the series.

Overall: 4.5/5 stars

Still enjoy the series

Still a great series. Of course giant magic Mecha Are always fun. The harem is nice But it doesn't define the series. The magic has not been leveraged too much yet. The MC being a void mage doesn't seem to play much of a factor considering how great void mages are supposed to be . He is however a resourceful fighter And open minded. I really enjoy this series and all the characters so far introduced. All unique and fun. The harm portion is not over the top And the story itself is the most important.... Obviously there's a lot of left of the story line. Lots of questions that need to be answered I'm assuming with lots more Mech battles at magitech. Awesome. The world is very steampunk Ish with magic tech. Should be interesting going forward. Looking forward to the next book.

An excellent continuation

So I was a little worried that the supporting characters wouldn't get fleshed out more and never quite come into their own from the first book.
I have to say I am pleasantly surprised my fears were unfounded.
Lots of character depth, scenes which while some authors wouldn't bother, were included to add to that build. Everyone became more of a person in this book, to varying degrees. Was an interesting foil to overcome, and I am very pleased.
The smut was still fairly good as well, always a plus. Some authors would try to shoehorn me women into the harem right away and never put in the work on any, I'm glad that hasn't happened. While it would be nice to see more, gradual is good.
Need the next book now.

Non-stop action and adventure!

Joseph Locke has adapted well to his new life as a Titan pilot aboard the Blue Heron. He could get higher pay with another crew but the “benefits” he receives from the Blue Heron’s crew of buxom bounty hunters more than makes up for it. This time, however, the bounty is personal. Ember’s mother, Erudicia, is missing along with the rest of the archaeological expedition and the monsters they will be facing may be more than even his Mecha magic can handle.

This series has me hooked! Eddie Skye’s imagination knows no bounds. I received a free advance copy via Booksprout but my review is honest and voluntary.

Lustfully read

Love the series, am getting ready to read the 3rd book. Can't put the books down, they're better than those oysters I think. And I do love oysters. Please continue the series your writing reflects your bedroom personally I think and I would love to see more of yourself, though I can't figure out which lovely you are, am sure one of these ladies is wrapped around in your head while writing. love to know which one. Unless your a guy with a female pen name, then just keep righting edie skye.

Review: These are fun to read if you abandon critical discrenment. Yeah, the contstant backstory gets in the way and the story line is predictable but the smut writing is really good if you have a good sense of visualization. One massive penis and plenty of willing tight boxes help expedite the scenes without intimacy.

Read the next? Not sure, as a threesome is predicatbly on the horizon I may hang around……

And another adversary put to rest.

So you get tricked into dying then being reborn literally. Sounds like a great time for all. Pilot a mech, work with sexy, badass women, see and learn about magic, and romp with said badass women. Sign me up, and the next round sounds even more fun.

Another bounty down

Good second book.
The MC and his girls continue to be interesting and the plot, while a bit slow it's fine to follow and understand.
The only thing that was somewhat negative was trying to picture the battle scenes in my head while reading.

Either way, I enjoyed this book and, wanting to see more, decided to pre-order the third book.

On to number 3

I have a few ideas of what Locke could do. Maybe using titan chemera and Peth to heal the hurt engineer. Could he heal with the right catalyst? Are there room for more abilities to be installed in his titan?

Fun

It's big, it's squishy, it'll eat anything and everything and then it'll fly. Locke and the ladies find themselves it quite the gross sticky mess and not the fun kind, well yeah that to, but that's another part if the story.

Big robots and large plots

Monsters are fought, mysteries are unraveled, ladies are laid, all in a good days work. It's no complicated thriller, but it's incredibly enjoyable and infinitely bingeable. and come on, it's got cool magic robots, what more could you want?

Ember out of her shell.

Ember is such an interesting and fun character. Especially how she introduced Locke to her mother. The series is enjoyable so far and am really looking forward to the rest of it.

It's good 👍

If you like decent escapists fantasy adventure then you'll enjoy this great giant robot battles cool locations and fights. Lots of sex but not so much that it detracts from the storyline. Read the previous books first for best results but it also stands alone well.
