The book is a script for a short theatre play. The characters are personified tarot cards engaging in mostly light conversation and some verbal fights, acting like a group of people who have known each other for a long time and in general sounding a bit bored, almost like employees who have been doing the same jobs for too long. It surely is amusing. However, as the conversation progresses there is a growing tension as we gradually understand that a tragedy is happening in the same room and hope for a happy end. I really enjoyed reading the book but must admit that I also did something I never thought I would do, considering myself very rational: I ended up searching the internet to learn more about tarots and the meaning of individual cards. I still may not believe in fortune-telling, but what an overview of human characters and traits! I am looking forward to the tarot manual the author plans on publishing.
