What becomes of the forgotten? Where do the lost ones go when they disappear? What if everything you thought were true turned out to be a lie? In the early 2000s, the death of a local boy shook a community to its core and tore a family apart. Now, no one seems to remember the sweet minister's son named Neil, who roamed the camp he once called home—no one except Jonah. Jonah McAlister could never forget the boy he once loved. Even though he's moved on mentally, he's stuck somewhere back in time.
When a strange man messages him claiming to be Neil, Jonah isn't sure what to believe anymore. They say you can never go home again, but there's a very good reason for Neil's sudden reappearance. Fate seems determined to right a wrong, or maybe true love does conquer all... even death. Once you learn from Camp Courageous, return often.
Life is a combination of what we do to share God's blessings and what others do to and for us. Either God's Will or Fate, depending on your beliefs, guides us to our God's Gift or Fated Mate that makes our lives worth living.
Just a few moments in time or a change of weather can change the course of life or point out the right path to love and happiness. We must be open to those around us as the right person may be right in front of us, but unless we are aware of our surroundings and those in need, we can miss the best times of our lives, often through our own doings or ignorance.
It is possible to love more than one person, but in different ways and methods. Returning home may be courageous, but it can also be joyful for the boys who survived and those who loved them.
I enjoyed reading this book. It is so sad that people have to be close minded. I do not believe in "Conversion Camps." I am glad that the main characters in the book found each other again!
