Desire Aforethought #2

Debts and Darkness

Rate this book
An Incubi MC. Their newest acquisition. Revelations that could mean all our deaths …

I’m theirs. I signed up to be one of the Iron Incubi’s playthings to save my friend, but at what cost?

They set my body on fire. I know they’re just using their incubus tricks, but the line between the job I signed up for and my real emotions is blurring. I’ve never felt like I’ve belonged, but I’m afraid I’m starting to feel more at home with these monsters than I ever did with my own kind.

They’re keeping secrets though. There’s suspicion in their eyes and if my oblivious brain has noticed then I’m either getting to know these guys better or it’s already witch-burning time and I’m about to be tied to the stake!

I expected their cruelty. They’re demons after all. Sie despises me, and Korban treats me like he’s taking his hatred of all humans out on me. But I never thought any of them would be kind. Theo makes sure I eat, and playboy Paris jokes with me, buys me everything he thinks I need and then some. Then there’s Vic, the MC President. He saved my life, but now I might as well be invisible.

What do these demons actually want from me? If they hate me so much, then why haven’t they killed me?

I’m still Jane Mercy, but I’m dancing to their tune, and I don’t know the steps. But no one’s going to save me from them. I have to do that myself.

I’ve always survived before, but, this time, will my heart?

I don't think I've read a book this fast in a long time! This was fantastic! The story was very engaging and I ended up finding myself very invested in Jane being okay. The dynamics between the Iron I's and Jane definitely went through an evolution during this novel. There was a point where I hated all of the Iron I's with the passion of a thousand suns. It eventually did get better but nothing can change my mind about the fact that they lowkey tortured her because of unfounded suspicions and then tried to make up for it later on.

I still dislike Kor very much. He hasn't so much as apologized for his actions in the first book and seems to not feel any remorse while still twisting the knife in Jane whenever he feels like it. Paris, on the other hand, has made amends and seems genuine about it all. Do I still lowkey dislike him? Yeah. Do I hate him like before? Not necessarily. I think my favorite out of all of them is Theo.

I was SO EXCITED when I realized I had guessed Jane's big reveal/plot twist! Now I'm even more intrigued!

The writing flows so well! Though I do wish there had been another round of editing done for grammar because this one got to the point where it was taking me out of the story (and if you know me it takes quite a bit for that to happen since I can usually overlook a lot). Another issue I had was with the HP mention. I've made it a personal rule to deduct stars because of it. It's been long enough for people to realize how toxic the author and her views are and to consequently stop name-dropping references to her series in media. Therefore, this book was going to get a 5-star rating from me but will be dropping down to 4 stars because of the reference.

I'm very much looking forward to the next book! I have a feeling that Jane's adventures are just getting started and I want to be there for the ride!

P.S. I forgot to mention that this book has trigger warnings in the beginning and I loved that! Made it so I could have the right mindset/prepare myself when diving into it.

Major cliffhanger!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😊😘😟🤓

The heroine: Jane - she is a girl with neurodiversity, who has a group of stalkers after her. She went to the Iron Incubi MC and asked them to help her out with her stalker problem, so now she is living with the 5 incubi. They have girls that they feed on and to feed on human females, there has to be a contract. Jane signed a contract as well so that the incubi would protect her friend from the stalkers.

The Hero: Vic, Theo, Paris, Sie and Korban - The Iron Incubi MC. They are incubus demons who feed from human females.
Vic - he is the leader of the Iron Incubi and likes it rough.
Theo - he is a doctor and likes kinky games in bed.
Paris - he is a cocky playboy who has a mean streak but loves who he loves and is gentle in bed.
Sie - he is quiet, dangerous and a bit mad. He is Vic’s second in command.
Korban (a.k.a. Kor) - he is furious, strong and a fighter. He is the enforcer of the MC. Kor and Paris are lovers.

The Story: Vic and the incubi have found out that Jane’s father is one of their enemies. They think he sent Jane to them to get inside information or to help him take out their MC. However, in reality Jane’s father left when she was ten years old, and she hasn’t seen him since. All five guys are very attracted to Jane and none of them can stay away from her, but they still suspect her. Even more so after they are attacked.

There were so many secrets in this book, the guys are brothers in the MC and think of each other as family, they sure are reluctant to tell each other everything. There were also things that happened in the past that are reflected on, but never fully explained. Just enough to whet your appetite for the full story. Overall, I really like each of the characters, they each have their own distinct personalities and issues. Though the guys were far to willing to believe the worst of Jane and treat her terribly because of it for my liking.

I have to say, that I felt a bit bad being a human, since most of the supes are super racist against humans. They all see humans like we see rats or cockroaches, there are too many of them and they are beneath us. Though depending on the kind of supernatural, some of them see humans as no more than food. So, the world building was pretty good in this series. The supes have their own police, their own cities and places of business. They pretty much keep to themselves and most live longer than humans and are wealthier than the average human.

After that cliffhanger from Demons and Debts,i was really worried how bad things could get for Jane.
Because Vic and Korban were convinced that she was to blame for everything that happened to them.
So,when the ARC of Debts and Darkness arrived,i immediately dove into it,needing the answers badly.
What i got was a véry rocky road to those answers, one that hurt badly, but that gave me hope, too.
Knowing what i know now,i can still see a future for them,if they’re able to make it back to eachother…..ánd defeat a very strong enemy!

Because Vic was convinced Jane was working for the enemy, and Korban agreed, things were about to change for the poor girl.
Not knowing what she did wrong,Jane struggled to catch up,and failed.
The way her brain worked didn’t help, not really, but it did mean she could shove the worst of her emotions down.
And she needed to,badly…..because every time they were kind to her,it was followed by cruel behaviour.
The only ones that were a little constant, didn’t stand up for her at those moments, either.
So,she was still on her own….in a hostile world,with 5 incubi’s!

Vic was working towards the exposure of Jane’s involvement, but seeing how the others reacted to her after feeding from her,he needed to isolate her.
She was even getting to him,and that simply wouldn’t do!
In spite of their objections, none of the other men stopped him from taking the necessary actions, though.
Even if it was cruel….

When Vic’s plan backfired spectacularly,Theo was the one to pick up the pieces.
And Jane really needed him to,because she was shattered by everything that had happened.
There was some very serious groveling to be done by not only Vic,but the others, too…
They finally saw how cruel they’d really been…and she hadn’t even deserved any of it!!

But worse was still to come….
The veil was lifted from who was behind the Order, and their end goal was clear.
There were others after Jane, and not just her stalkers, because of who she was.
And on top of that, something really bad happened…..
Which leaves me with yet another cliffhanger that’s killing me!!

Kyra has really nailed Jane’s character.
Her emotions are só clear,só well described, and i love that girl!
She’s lonely, hurting, and in desperate need of tlc.
But every time she hits a wall, every time they hurt her,she gathers her big girl panties, and toughens up.
It clearly costs her,and she still hurts deep down, but she won’t allow those incubi’s to break her!

Talking about those….
I would LOVE to hit a couple of them on the head with a hammer!
Vic first, because he’s supposed to be the smart one and he didn’t act like it for even one second.
Then Korban, because in spite of how she made him feel,he still believed the worst of her.
Sie never felt as good as he did now,but did he stop Vic,or Korban?
Paris may have been acting like the fun guy with her,but i didn’t really see him do anything to stop what they did to her.
Theo,he was the only one that tried to help Jane whenever and however he could.
And for that i give him credit.
In the end, they all dó care about Jane, but their actions háve costed them the trust they need from her…..
Let’s hope they can find a way to get it back before it’s too late!

To find that out, along with everything else i need to know,i am in desperate need of Darkness and Debauchery,so….Kyra?
Please hurry!!!

5+ stars!

Debts and Darkness is the second book in this exciting series and I could not put it down. I LOVED LOVED this story. This starts off where book one ended with an attack on the Incubi MC. Vic, Sie, Korban, Theo, and Paris aren’t sure who their enemy is but Vic and Korban immediately blame Jane without any concrete evidence and they intend on making her pay. Sie, Theo, and Paris aren’t as quick to place blame on Jane but go along with Vic.

Meanwhile, Jane is trying to traverse her new reality as the Incubi MC’s property and now enemy #1 without understanding why they hate her so much. Jane hates the pull she feels towards them because Vic and Korban are so cruel to her, Sie is a silent watcher, and Theo and Paris may be nice but they haven’t stopped the madness yet. She doesn't understand their game and there are no rules for her to read.

However, there is more at play here than any of them realize and the more entangled they get with each other, the more these demons realize they may have made a grave mistake and misjudged Jane. Unbeknownst to Jane, she is more important than she even realizes and deadly forces around them will stop at nothing to get to her and the Incubi MC.

I love Jane and I love the way she was represented. She is resilient and I adore the way her neurodivergent brain works. She is such a wonderful character with so much intelligence and wit. Vic and Kor are complete and utter assholes and I wanted to stab them in the eyeballs but I also really loved their alphahole ways. It worked in this story. When they realize their mistake with Jane…“chefs kiss.” I am totally here for the groveling. Paris and Theo are the foils to Vic and Kor and offset some of their cruelty with their kindness. But make no mistake, all these demons are scary and vicious with their own particular kinks. Sie is still a bit of a mystery but I feel like a cinnamon roll is underneath all that anger and standoffishness. All of these characters have baggage and their inevitable fall into each other terrifies them to the point they don’t know what to do with that knowledge. I loved reading about their internal struggles and then the manifestation of those struggles through their growing bonds.

This story is full of twists and turns, heartbreaking moments, steamy/kinky sex, humor, action and violence, and a perfect amount of character development. We are left with so many questions while other questions are answered. Debts and Darkness is such a unique world and it’s refreshing to read something original. I was glued to this book and finished it in less than 24 hours.

This ends on a cliffhanger but it’s not quite as brutal as the first one. I am SO excited to read how these alpha demons win Jane’s heart, take down the bad guys, and build Jane up to the woman she was born to be. If you haven’t started this series and enjoy dark paranormal romance, then dive in!! You won’t regret it.

I just finished ‘Demons and Debts’ & ‘Debts & Darkness’ from Author Kyra Alessy’s Desire Aforethought series and I LOVED ❤️ BOTH BOOKS (FYI, I’m not affiliated with the author and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)

OK ✅! So I usually write ✍️ an EMOJI 🤪 review for a book that I LOVE 😍 as SOON as I finish it! BUT!! The second🥈book came out literally the day I finished the first 🥇book and I LOVED 🥰 the first 🥇 book so much that I HAD to start the second 🥈book STAT 🚨!!! (Did I mention I stayed up ALL night 🌙 reading the first book 📕?!?!)

This really is a GREAT 👏🏻 series! It hits ALL of the things I love about a FABULOUS RH/Why Choose 🙌🏻! If you are OBSESSED 😍 with Psycho Shifters by Jasmine Mas like I am, then this is another FANTASTIC 🤩 series that gives similar vibes 👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻!

So it starts off with a quirky chick walking into a motorcycle 🏍 club asking for help 🙏🏻 from the BIG, TOUGH 💪🏻 owners because she has a STALKER 👀! We quickly find out that the MMCs are INCUBI 🔥 and she has literally walked into the LION’S 🦁 DEN! RARRRR 🥵🥵🥵! She’s been on the run 🏃🏻‍♀️ from her STALKER 👀 her ENTIRE life and now… she’s not sure 🤔 if the guys that are supposed to help her are better or WORSE than the STALKER 👀 she has never seen 😳!

I LEGIT LOVED so much about these two books! First of all 👆🏻, the FMC is AUTISTIC with sensory challenges and I thought it was really awesome how the author paid homage to a disorder that so many people struggle with 💜. I really LOVED 😍 the underdog feel of the FMC combined with the strength 💪🏻 of her character. One minute she’s battling a sensory overload situation and the next she’s telling the guys to go TAKE A HIKE (more colorful 🌈 words than that though 😅!) She’s definitely got some PIZAZZ and I really LOVE 💗 that about her!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

And the GUYS!!!! They all have separate, UNIQUE personalities and you get to know each of them from different POVs 🙌🏻! These guys are not the typical “burn 🔥 the world 🌍 down for their girl” HEROS and I actually really enjoyed their MORALLY GREY characters 👏🏻! They are definitely protective 👊🏻 of her, BUT in their OWN way and I found it REFRESHING 🌬! Not to mention they are HOT 🥵 as HECK and the STEAM 🍆 is pretty SMOKIN’ 🔥’! Speaking of SPICE 🌶 though, I thought this was a GREAT 👍🏻 combo between spicy scenes, angst, and non-romantic plotline 👏🏻. There definitely is an enemies-to-lovers 🥷➕💘 vibe going on and I am HERE FOR IT 🙋🏻‍♀️😁😁😁!!

So if you like a strong 💪🏻 FMC WITH challenges that endear 😍 her men to her AND she’s on the RUN 🏃🏻‍♀️ from a STALKER 👀, five morally grey MCs that are also HOT 🥵 as HE!L INCUBI 🍆, and a GREAT 🤩 cliffhanger that gets you excited for the next book (I LITERALLY started the next book straight 👆🏻away!) … give this series a shot! It’s FREE on KU and you never know, it may just SEDUCE 💋 you!

This is the second installment of Jane and her Incubi men and it was everything I was hoping for and more. It picks back up from the cliffhanger in the first book and drops us straight back into the drama with plenty of added twists and turns. I’m still loving the insights into Janes ND brain and getting to know the guys more. The spice is yummy and I still want me an Incubi man especially one of these! As this is a series so of course there is another cliffhanger and yes it leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait for the next one.

Debts and Darkness: Desire Aforethought Book 2 by Kyra Alessy picks up right after Book 1, where the Iron Incubi Motorcycle Club has been attacked on multiple fronts.  Upon discovering who Jane's dad is,  Vic is convinced she betrayed them.  Vic sets a trap to discover the truth and wants to protect his men.  However,  since she's currently the only girl they can feed from, they can't just get rid of her.  Vic begins to cruelly punish Jane using her autism against her, much to the dismay of a couple of the members.  However, when they discover she wasn't the one that betrayed them, they wonder if they went too far and if she will ever forgive them, but the more significant question might be why it's so important to them that she does.

The world-building continues as readers discover more about the supernatural community and the war with the humans.  There are changes in many of the characters as they deal with their often unwanted attraction to Jane.  I love Jane. She has so much strength and won't be Broken.  She worries so much about how her autism affects her interactions with the men that she doesn't seem to realize the hold she has over the Iron Is.  Alessy has done an incredible job of portraying Jane's autism accurately and respectfully and allowing it to guide Jane's character in the story.

I rated Debts and Darkness 5 out of 5 stars.  This book is for adults only.  It has fascinating characters and an exciting plot. A lot is going on in this story.  Jane is experiencing some unexpected things, and readers can't help wondering if she is human.  A war is going on, and Jane's MIA father appears to be one of the top Order members declaring war on the supernaturals. Something changed his doting dad into the cold, indifferent man he has become.  There is so much tension in this book as readers know something is up but not enough to understand what. I have to admit Alessy is a fantastic writer that can keep readers in suspense but can continue to move the plot and keep readers entertained.  The ending is perfect.  The book ends with a cliffhanger, but there are some big revelations and resolutions that hit right before the end, trying things up nicely and giving readers lots to anticipate the next book. If you enjoy spicy slow, burn reverse harem MC romances that keep you guessing, this unique series is a must-read!

Book two was just as good, if not better than book one.
After the cliffhanger in Demons and Debts I was so excited to receive this book as an arc. I love this series. I love that it has a relatable autistic main character. I love all the guys and how protective they are of Jane, even when they are unsure if they can trust her. I love the magic and world building. I love everything about these books.
The more the guys (and the reader) find out about Jane, the more they fall for her and also the more questions they have about her, and where she came from. If you like why choose, paranormal romance, incubi, protective men, touch her and 💀, and relatable characters, you have to read this series.

Oh Jane, what will this author put you through next? This story is book two of the series and starts off right where the first one ended - in chaos. I think the word chaos is a nice theme for this book, because it is full of twists and turns and emotional whiplash. I loved and then hated and then loved these men. Jane is full on a hero in my book for handling all the mess that the author dreamed up in this one. Wow. I think the author is handling her autism in a very appropriate manner and you can definitely see it through her reactions to the story line. A great overall story with some questions answered in this book. Yet so many more coming into my mind. I cannot wait for the next book!

These cliffies are KILLING meeee! (*This is not a complaint. I live for cliffies!) So. The fellas spend soooo much of this book being jerkfaces to my girl. I raged on her behalf. They were straight up smasholes. Even the ones that weren’t were because they didn’t do a darn thing to intercede. I love Theo and Paris, but come on! Grow a pair! Vic’s dad is the King of Gross Smasholes. This is definitely grey, there are no good guys here. Can’t wait for book 3!! 💜

This is a great addition to the series. I hated reading how cruel the guys can be but im loving watching their relationships change as the story goes on. Thar cliffhanger was brutal and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I loved this one just as much as the first book. I knew it was going to get dark there for a bit after the cliffhanger in book one and how they all thought it was Jane’s fault. It was dark and twisted and sexy! I loved seeing more of the demon forms and the hot demon sex. I will no be not so patiently awaiting book three!

I loved the first book in this series. It's very well done and so is this book, it just took a very dark turn. It's not as though the author didn't leave ample trigger warnings, but it ended up being worse than I thought it would be. I guess I didn't expect so much of it to come from the MMC's. At this point, I'm not sure if they're worth forgiving. They'll have to do a lot more than just apologize and grovel for me to see them as redeemable.

Is it me? Clearly, it’s me.

Another win. What a wonderful interpretation of someone with sensory issues. To describe what it is like spot on is incredible. I have read numerous books trying to find one that actually gets it. Jane's thoughts could be a complete parallel with mine. The Iron I's trying to figure out how to handle that and sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing(yes, we know, sometimes on purpose, they had their reasons) is very well done as well. Fire book!!!!! Highly recommended!!! Would give it 10 stars!!!

dubcon warning

I was curious where this story would go for book two and kind down the drain is where we end up. The guys around the FMC are awful, dubious constant in each of their first interactions. Just because her body reacts doesn’t mean there is true consent. One of the guys is less worse then the others but drugging her and not protecting her from the others doesn’t make him “wright” for her either. Not sure how we get to a happy ending where all the bad stuff is redeemed.

Why did you read this book?
I like reverse harems, and I was interested in a book where the female lead has autism.

What format did you read this book in?
Read it as an eBook on Kindle.

Is this an educational book or a book for entertainment?
I read this book for pure entertainment purposes.

What genres do you think this book belongs to?
Contemporary, Crime, Fantasy, LGBT+, Humor and Comedy, Psychology, Romance

What was your favorite part of the book?
I didn't have a favorite part of this book. I guess if I had to choose a scene, it's when the guys finally allowed her to leave her prison and realize that they were prosecuting someone innocent. Seriously, this part really ruined the series for me.

Who would you suggest this book to?
Anyone who likes dark fantasy, reverse harems, and strong female leads.

What is your general opinion/ rating of this book?
You know a car accident you can't look away from even though you're horrified? That perfectly describes how I felt reading this book. The love interests, especially Vic, were horrible to her. When they put her in a prison cell and used her disabilities against her, let's just say I was done with these love interests. At least Theo is in her corner, and I only gave him a pass because he had to listen to Vic. There were enough mysteries to keep me reading the book. I genuinely felt bad for the female lead and what she had to deal with, but I thought she was a bit too forgiving after what they did to her. I also got a little tired of so many characters trying to sexually assault the female lead. Overall if you like very dark content in your fantasy reverse harem, then this might be the book for you.

How intense are the intimacy scenes?
They are vividly detailed and described.

At what “burn” level is the romance?
HOT.

Love interests, how many of them are there and what gender?

There are 5 love interests, all males, and incubuses.
Vic-their leader.
Korban- he hates humans, and Paris is his lover.
Sie – close to becoming feral, used to be Vic’s lieutenant.
Theo- the doctor.
Paris- Pretend playboy, Kor lover, and their secret assassin.

Any trigger warnings?

This review covers all three books in the series. I’m just going to review the whole series together since that’s how I read it…or binged it, rather. I really liked the first book, liked the second book OK, and was fairly meh on the third one. This left me finishing the series feeling disappointed. But on the whole, it averages out pretty well.

The two things I appreciated most about this series were the tone of the writing (which was well-edited and easy to read) and the heroine. I adored Jane. She’s snarky and self-contained. I mean, I liked the heroes well enough, too, but Jane was my shining star. And it was largely her sense of humor and inner dialogue that made the tone of the book work so well.

The reason my enjoyment of the series diminished the farther along I went, however, was that I felt like it lost some of the spark that kept the first one so interesting. The men were true alpha a-holes in the beginning. There’s no pushing her away for her own good or cruel to be kind, etc. These men did not care about her. And Jane was forced to navigate that, which created a delicious tension. (There’s not a sex scene until past 75% either.)

By book two and certain book three, the men had changed. They’d come to love and simp for Jane, which is fine, but the books lost a lot of the tension as a result. Plus (and these and big ones for me), by book three—where I would have expected to finally see the romance develop between the characters—Jane spent almost all of with one of the men, and the rest were separate. The plot also devolves into cliched SA territory that I did not enjoy reading even a little bit. I just too often find such plotlines overused and lacking in creative thought. I call them the low-hanging fruit of plotlines. Meh.

Lastly, I was disappointed with the spicy scenes. There was very little in the vein of foreplay or emotional connection. It’s all very focused on what went in where and when. So, it didn’t particularly light me up.

All in all, however, I’d happily read more of Alessy’s writing. I enjoyed more than I didn’t.

This series was a LOT darker than I would normally read. I normally shy away from dark romance and I nearly didn’t continue past the TW page at the beginning, mostly because I am NOT a fan of non-con or even dub-con but I was in such a book slump and couldn’t find anything else that looked even remotely good, so I figured I’d give it a try and if it got to be too much I would abandon it.

In the end I’m glad I did read this series even though some parts weren’t to my taste because the overall story and writing were really good, I loved the neurodivergent FMC and seeing her come into her own, and with the MMCs it JUST skirted the line of what I could handle in terms of consent and I did enjoy seeing their character growth as well.

Was I a fan of the way they treated her when they thought she was working against them or even just when they thought she was “only” a human, or the SA perpetrated on her by secondary characters? No, but again it all skirted the line JUST shy of too much for me to handle, and I know there is MUCH darker stuff out there so I’m glad I could get through this once I started it because I became heavily invested in the characters (mostly Jane because she was awesome) lol.

I’m not autistic myself but I suspect my niece is and I am glad to see representation in the literary fiction world so that there is more awareness and (hopefully) a lowering of the stigma surrounding ASD as well.

Overall a good series and I will probably read the next one about Maddox’s clan as long as it’s not darker than this one, because I’m anticipating another totally awesome FMC lol.

Girl you have me hooked. I was so excited when i found out the next book came out i put my books aside to read it.

I like that you included how autism affects her and how they care for her. I hardly relate so much to characters from this genre, so thank you 💕

Theo is my love. Sie is such a sweetheart. Paris has reedemed himself. I'm pissed at kor and vic is the biggest mr emotional whiplash asshole. 😤

Kors touching scenes are cute, but I still hate him.

I thought we would get more daddy dom vibes from Vic but he started to grovel and apologize real fast so there's that. I'm glad she didn't accept his apology tho.

Theo wanting to make it special was everything and his med scene was hot. I like how she wants to see them in their most natural forms.

Homegirl went through the wringer in this one. I was so upset that they put her in the cell. It was all good for the plot tho. I felt so bad for her when she thought she was in the cell bc of lack of skill as a call girl.

Her revelations are really interesting I was waiting the entire book for someone to finally say something about it. As she would struggle with reading between the lines and body language or understanding others, this power has been beneficial for her. I wonder what else she's capable of.

I wonder if we get to see more of this mysterious Maddox character. I didn't like his goonies but he seems to hold himself to a different standard.

Jane Mercy is literally at the mercy of a cruel incubi motorbike club. She's under contract and must do all that they want. It's a hot and cold situation. Do they like her or do they hate her? She can't figure it out and she doesn't know the reasons why. To survive, they're going to have to trust one another, but will the secrets ever crack so trust can be won?

This is the second book in the thrilling dark romance reverse harem series, Desire Aforethought. This is a unique series in that Jane is autistic, and it's written realistically. Please pay attention to the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book. This second book is even better than the first. Jane is caught in a pull-push situation with her incubi. The demons think she might be the enemy, but she doesn't know that. They're all drawn to one another, but what the heart wants doesn't match what the head thinks. Theo is my favorite of the demons. He's a doctor, and he never fails in his duty. Yet every single one of the incubi are fascinating and hot, each for his own reason. A lot is happening within the MC, to Jane herself, and to the world they live in. Everything is snowballing in the best of ways. A bit twist concerning Jane happens, and while I guessed it, it didn't make it any less satisfying. I also really liked when they were stuck in the fae space and all the strangeness of it. Never once does the story let up on the tension and I can't wait to get my hands on the third and final book.

This is the second book in the series and it starts where Demons and Debts left off, with the Iron Incubi under attack. The Iron I's believe that Jane is behind the attack or she's working with those that are. So everyone is on edge and very suspicious. Once I started reading I was intrigued to find out who was actually behind the attack and Sie trying to figure what's going on with Jane. Why she doesn't respond to them like other humans. Is there more going on with her? Some parts of this were hard to read because a couple of the guys were so cruel towards Jane. (Thats why 4 ⭐ instead of 5) Especially Vic and in book three he has a lot of groveling to do to get redemption. Sie still has my heart but with the way Theo treats her in this book he's gaining ground. It does end on a cliffhanger 😲 so I can't wait for book 3! This book has much more spice than book number one and I'm "patiently" waiting for Vics kink to finally be explored.

"I would never have thought I’d find this so hot in a million years. I’m one kinky mofo. Who knew?" 😂

I am leaving my honest review for a complimentary copy of this book via the author.
