When Mariya is transported to a primitive city on an alien world, the native people immediately push her out into the mountainous forests to search for her 'fated mate'. Mariya is determined to avoid him and find a way home, especially when they warn her he's 'gone feral'.
Feral isn't the word! Ardek is a muscle bound, shape changing, bad tempered, foul mouth Satyr on steroids!
When Ardek took on the role of protector, little did he realise his fated mate wasn't among his people. Without the balance to the wrath and rage of his beast, Ardek has lost his way. But now she's here. Impossibly small and delicate, Mariya meets his wrath with her calm, his rage with her steely determination.
Mariya is hell bent on going home. But as Ardek shows the person he is beneath the beast, she finds the future she had planned on Earth has less of a pull, and perhaps, the stars aligned for a purpose.

Lucy is an all-round nerd with a life-long love of fantasy and science-fiction, throw in a happily-ever-after and she’s a happy customer. When she’s not reading or writing about alien males and the human women who love them, she’s spending time with her husband and three cats in their Derbyshire home.
First book I’ve read of the astrological mates series. Awesome world building, good character development. Especially for the human FMC. I liked how she faced some real struggles mentally in this book. Would love to see more from this world as I am soo curious how this world develops.
Excellent sci-fi romance! I really loved it. Just blown away by the characters, the storyline, and the lovely relationship forming between Mariya and Ardek. Lots of cool surprises and great adventures!
I almost DNFd at the first few chapters because I just couldn't stand the bitchy, condescending, self absorbed heroine. There is only one smexy scene, well past the 80% mark which is disappointing for what is marketed with erotic romance. The overarching storyline was an after-school special teaching the danger of consumerism and the importance of any stewardship. Which is cool and all but I'm trying to read a smut book, not be reminded the cost of colonialism. Anyways I felt like there was plot points just lost in the ether, like the weirdness of his sisters that just disappears and the infighting in the settlement that is never addressed. So a meh from me. I appreciated the cool world building and the integration of technology and spirituality.
It is great writing, so much so I will give another of this authors books a try. The couple don’t even meet until 35% in the book. The leading lady forgives how she was treated by his family badly and forgives very easily. I like my leading ladies with a tiny bit of back bone. I wanted more time with the couple.
Dnf 87% I really did not care for the female lead. She was supposed to be an archeologist but is obsessed in getting home instead of exploring a new world. She’s also condescending, ungrateful, self-centered and whiny. She does improve around the 70% mark but by then I had had enough. The male lead is VERY forgiving to the point of being a pushover. He’s sweet, strong and puts up with her calling him goat boy (though she does apologize, but it’s out there). This has happened recently with this author (my deep dislike of the female lead) and I hope dearly that this’ll change as I used to enjoy her stories quite a bit until recently (hence a 3 star instead of 2) Fingers crossed for future books
♈ “I will follow you to the underworld to keep you safe if that is what fate decrees.” ~~~ I loved Mariya so much! She’s smart, brave, knowledgeable, compassionate and strong-willed. And I loved her dedication to archeology. Even more, I loved that, despite being afraid, she was so brave to face any danger thrown her way. She’s one amazing woman!
Adrek is one irresistibly charming Arien! As one of the rulers of Essra, he has the ability to transform into a beast. But, without his mate, he’s lost his way and is so angry. I loved that male! He’s so strong, deadly, dangerous, fiercely protective and loyal to his people. I couldn’t help but absolutely adore every single thing about him!
The development of Mariya and Ardek’s relationship was spectacular! When an alien meteorite falls near an illegal archaeological site on Mars, Mariya finds a strange obelisk. The moment she touches it, she’s transported on an unknown alien planet whose inhabitants claim she’s the fated mate of their ruler and the one to save him. I loved Mariya’s steely determination to go back home, but Ardek’s determination to prove to her that they are meant to be together will crumble all walls around her heart. I adored those two together! Their chemistry and banters were fantastic. And I loved the time they spent together, getting to know one another and exploring the ancient secrets of the planet. I loved how Ardek was always there for his mate, never hesitating to throw himself into danger if it means protecting her. And I loved Mariya for being so accepting of all of Ardek’s forms. And when Mariya finally realized she’s right where she belongs, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot! Ardek and Mariya were absolutely perfect for each other and I couldn’t get enough of them!
In addition, the worldbuilding and the storyline were absolutely phenomenal! The Arien - a satyr-looking species - were so fascinating and I loved exploring their planet with all its dangers, ancient ruins, underground tunnels, secrets and magic. With the added suspense, danger and unexpected discoveries, I was glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, Redeeming Aries is a remarkable story! It’s filled with adventure, danger, twists, suspense, non-stop action, scorching hot romance and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
I loved everything about this book and how the apparent magic was an illusion to something greater than what was thought possible. I loved the romance and how organically it developed over the course of the book. I loved how mischievous Ardek was at times and how sneaky he was with showing his affection for his Yarissa. The whole concept of this book was just really well thought out. It was so rich in worldbuilding and history, which was just really unique and fun. I'd love to see more of this world, especially just to see what the future looks like! My only complaint is that there were a few spelling errors that diverted my attention at times. That said, it wasn't enough to detract from the story being told here. I'm really looking forward to reading the other books in this series, as well as more from this author!
Thoroughly enjoyed this new world L. P. Peace has created! I’m intrigued and want to know more about their future! Great world building and characters!
This series has me thoroughly confused to start. It’s a collaboration, where several different authors contribute a book or two into the series. Which is great, I’ve read several great collaborations. But Kindle tells me this series is currently constructed of only 7 books, two of which are labeled numbers 9 & 10. Huh? The math doesn’t add up on that one. And I can’t seem to locate books 2-4? 🤔🤷♀️🤯 Meh, oh well. I guess I’ll just have to do whatever I can here.
So this book in the series is called Redeeming Aries and is written by L.P. Peace (an author I am not at all familiar with). Written in third person, it’s labeled as book 1 and follows Kulkaran (which is the equivalent of a king) Ardek of the planet Ariesia and his human mate Mariyah Cassandra Anastasakos. Mariyah was exploring Mars when she was transported through space after touching a mysterious aquamarine obelisk. The obelisk transported her to Ariesia, the city of Essra, where the inhabitants were goat-like creatures similar to satyrs in human folklore. They claimed that the obelisk retrieved the Kulkaran’s mate, and it took 10 years to find her, which the king has spent as a beast in the forest, only his mate could save him. She did that, then her archeological brain spent the next few days exploring the mysterious planet, all while falling in love with her future husband.
Honestly, this book bored the ever-loving shit out of me. I found myself watching a show on tv between sentences because it just couldn’t keep my attention. 😒
The couple have intercourse in chapter 17, at the 86% mark. We we only are privy to the first f*ck. I felt like this story lacked the appropriate banter and build up. The author made us wait and wait and wait and…. Wait… for the couple to go from 0-60 in ten seconds flat. There was more confusing ass adventure with a complicated back story than romance. For such a short book, it missed the bar entirely. I read these romance novels specifically for the smut. Reading fictional romance gives me the opportunity to escape my boring, monotonous life for a couple hours and revel in the idea of a sexy virile man’s hands exploring my body like he does the human female. That is literally the whole point. I’m sure a prude women would verbally chastise the smut because *gasp* “how dare you be so vulgar.” But if they didn’t secretly love the smut, they wouldn’t have picked up the book to begin with. We don’t give two shits what planet, how different the alien species is, or what adventure is going on in the background. Is there f*cking going on? Kissing, flirting, touching, exploring, dirty talk? Yes? Purrrrfect. This sci-fi romance novel lacked the ROMANCE. Which was a giant letdown.
Personally, I feel like this particular book was a huge waste of my time. I will be checking out the other books in this collaboration with my fingers crossed. 🤞🤞

I can't say how much I enjoyed reading this story. It is a romantic, adventure fantasy that left me wondering if there would be some diabolical intrigue involving Ardek's sisters or uncle. I won't spoil the ending except to say it ends happily. I will say for those who totally believe in some of the conspiracy theories in our world today that if you don't believe in climate change, vaccines or that oil companies and other lobbyists are holding everyone back with their greed then you might not like the reason for the circumstances on this particular planet. I know enough about history to know the underlying currents running through this plot could be talking about the world today. I find it amusing this story starts on Mars since I figure that planet will be the next great territory to be colonized by those leaving for new possibilities of prosperity, freedom and happiness in the future just as so many others had their own exodus from Moses out of Egypt to Europeans into the Americas. I totally agree with the reasoning in this story so for me it is more than a fictional tale it sheds light on those trying to subvert the truth of history today. I love it for that.
This was a great book and I loved all the twists and turns, drama, action, suspense, danger, surprises, fated mate and love. Mariyah is on a archeology dig on Mars when it get hit by a meteorite which has her finding a Obelisk and when she touched it she gets transported to a primitive planet where she is pushed out by the Natives to find her fated mate in their mountains forest because he was one of there rulers of Essra but she doesn’t want a mate she wants to go back home to earth. Ardek is an Alien alien who shifts into a beast and has become unruly and when he meets the fragile human he knows she is his fated mate and must prove to her he is more than a beast. Meeting Ardek was a little scary he is grumpy and angry and sexy as sin that has her wondering all kinds of naughty things with him but she must remain focused and return home. Knowing his mate wants to go home and he must make her want to stay and so he shows her his planet and they explore the ancient secrets together and the closer they get the burning chemistry and cheeky banter has them going together and it’s hot and wild. Can they have a future together or does Mariyah still want to return to earth or not.
Mariyah and Ardek Transported to another world via a means she doesn’t understand, archaeologist Mariyah is greeted by the Satyr looking natives, and sent out into the rainforest to find and tame her fated mate. Not that Mariyah wants a fated mate… and especially not a monstrous one!
Although this story is actually quite good, Mariyah doesn’t start out by being the most likable character. She is a flawed human, and her reactions and decisions prove it. Fortunately her thought processes show this, and eventually she redeems herself! The hero, Ardek, despite being a bit of a monster initially, is less flawed (though far from perfect). He too has some issues to face, and ultimately comes to terms with them.
The book was a quick and entertaining read in this multi-author, shared universe. There’s a little sex, and a great deal of adventure, perfect for the sci-fi romance enthusiast looking for a quick read.
The premise of this world and story are interesting. I liked the idea that the MMC's people had ancestors who were at the level of technology of humans and had collapsed.
The MFC starts out pretty self centered as one would expect from the way civilization on earth was going. I felt like his affable and positive thinking character helped pull her out of this. I liked this conversation they had,
‘So, your people, and my ancestors, built this transport to travel great distances so they can be unhappy while trying to be happy?’ ‘You could say that,’ Mariyah said. ‘I don’t understand. Happiness isn’t something you feel all the time. If it were, it would be meaningless.’ ‘But then what do you want to feel? Miserable?’ Mariyah asked. ‘Content is what I most often feel,’ he said. ‘When I am with my family or my friends. When I know everyone is safe. When I know my people are safe.’
This is the first of Peace’s books I’ve read and, as an Aries myself, I was intrigued. A glowy space rock disrupts the gloomy Mars dig site of an archaeologist down on her luck. With no family and no money, Mariyah is smart, cynical, and practical. Her reactions to being shot through the stars by a shiny blue rock are relatable. The male lead is a muscle lump who’s sweet but we kind of expected that, right?
There is no insta love and it’s not very spicy but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The world building is scant but complete. There was some detail but not enough to answer all my questions (not a bad thing). The characters were not annoying or stereotypical but also fairly one-dimensional. All in all, if you like the idea of this book, go for it!
At last, a storyline with more love and less mechanical And meaningless sex ! I enjoyed the characters and culture but couldn't make sense of the heroines dithering. I understand fear of the unknown, defiance in the face of perceived bulling or captivity but felt the dithering was not realistic when the reasons for it were unclear. Despite that one point I really enjoyed this book and will be on the lookout for more from this author.
A exciting romance on an alien world with a shape shifting alien and a human archaeologist. I enjoyed the unique civilization and its inhabitants as well as the romance between the two main characters. Initially I didn’t think I was going to like the MFC, but by the end of the book she had changed my opinion because her goal to prepare her new people for the humans was on point and needed. I hope Ms. Peace will write more books on this planet.
Really great. I would love to read more stories from this world. At first I didn't think I was going to like the heroine, but she redeemed herself. She was a bit rude, but I'll attribute that to her shock due to her method of arrival. The one sex scene was not very detailed. There were some typos that distracted a little, but not too much. I plan on checking out the author's other works. Fated mates, low spice, low angst, no cheating, HEA.
Both characters had no personality to speak of and the plot was an absolute mess, with several major beats either missing, glossed over, or occurring far too late. For example, the Meet Cute scene doesn't occur until after the 30% mark and there is no smut until the second or third last chapter. Not even a kiss. Actually, not even any tension. The result was a slow burn, but without the burn - aka just slow.
Great world building. Ardek was a sweet male. Innocent in many ways plunged into a role he wasn't ready for nor wanted. Mariyah was a harden woman with a strong set of principles and purpose. The author does a great job taking the reader on the journey with the MCs, as they navigate this strange and dangerous alien forest. If you like a slow burn, alien fated mate romance, you may like this book.
Was this a great book? No. Did I thoroughly enjoy it? Yes. Yes I did. The plot was fun and the world building was nice. Some character development was weak and the grammar was atrocious. At at least one point the called the FMC Maria (her name is Mariyah). It could have done with a good editing and refining but I loved it regardless. Great vibes!
I am sorry but this book did nothing for me. The characters were basic and most of the time I felt myself skimming over sentences because I was bored. It was almost a DNF but I persevered and felt disappointed that I did. Good ideas but they went nowhere, the characters could have been expanded, but fell short. Usually I enjoy reading this author but this one wasn't for me.
I loved the concept of this piece! I would consider this a mix of astrology, aliens, magic and destiny.
Since Aries is my birth sign, I was super stoked to read this book, and I wasn’t disappointed.
There were a few grammatical errors and the single quotation instead of the double for dialogue made a few parts confusing, but overall it was a great read!
Wow.. I wanted to check out this book as another from this serie was recommended to me. And I always want to start with book 1….. I think I regret this decision, cause this book was boooooooorrrrrrringgggggg.
I had so much trouble finishing it. Till 78% nothing has happened between, there is no chemistry it was sad and bad
Mariyah is an archaeologist working on Mars when a fiery UFO lands and she goes and touches it and is transported to another planet. She is sent into the wild jungle to take the beast and to be his mate. Oh yeah it is awesome!
I didn’t know what to rate this book, I enjoyed parts of it, but it moved really slowly. I think the story line behind it, is really good. I just couldn’t emerge myself completely in it.
Beautiful emotional love story of fated mates across space, how little difference mean when history and the future can change everything, and a love written in the stars.Thank you for sharing this wonderful story look forward to reading more ♥️♥️♥️
It seemed like a great story line in the beginning however it took a long time before any chemistry took place like almost the end and the male didnot seem very dominate. It was well written just needed a bit more action! 😉thank u
This is a story about redemption, not just Ardek but Mariyah too, I did not like her at the beginning she was cold and mercenary caring nothing about anyone but herself, but as the story progressed so did she, her journey was slow in places but hard and needed.
This story fascinating because the MFC is an Archeologist. I liked that she was in a way open to what was happening 8n the world. Having a Satyr as your mates, not bad either.
Spent most of the book being conniving, manipulating, being self centered and a liar. 4 traits that are the lowest. On the plus side it was well written and if the author wanted you to really not like the lead female she did a fantastic job. No sarcasm.
