Monster Manor

Rate this book
Three dangerous, fang-bearing men are waiting for you to find them.

On Halloween night, your car breaks down outside a spooky, crumbling manor deep inside the forbidden woods. With your heart in your throat, you risk the hedges of thorns to explore the mysteries of the Monster Manor. Can you traverse the pitfalls of the haunted house to discover the himbo werewolf, the debonair ghost, and the bookish vampire in order to save them?

The manor hides a huge secret you must unravel before you can free the men. Do you pick the werewolf, vampire, or ghost, or are you lucky enough to banish the evil lurking at the heart of Monster Manor and win the hearts of all three?

This is a romance where you decide what happens, whom you wind up with, and—if you survive the night—to spend it with one, two, or all three hauntingly romantic men.

dropped-books

I was excited to give this a try as I'm a huge fan of RPG video games and I thought an interactive book would be fun but the choices you make are simple ones like turn left or right and choose this item or the other and so on. There wasn't much in the way of storyline and zero-character development.

Sadly, I got bored and dropped this fairly quickly.

Monster Manor (Find Your Harem, #1)
by Ellen Mint

I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Monster Manor is waiting for you to enter its dark depths on Halloween. Having broken down, you have a couple of choices open to you, the forest or the graveyard. Which path will you choose?
The story continues, laying decisions open for you, but is there a right or wrong choice? If you are lucky, you will come across the vampire, the ghost, and the werewolf; if you are extra lucky, all three! But beware, not every ending is pleasant. Read with care because certain choices have dire consequences!

This is the first book in the Find Your Harem series and it was such an exciting discovery. It has adult passages with sexual scenarios, so is not suitable for the younger age group or readers sensitive to harem plots. Ellen Mint has taken an RPG reading adventure and created a unique experience. Like many RPG books, you start at the beginning of the book, read the description of the chapter, and it confronts you with a choice. Depending on what you select, you will end up reading very different chapters. Often, the various storylines cross each other, so there are a lot of possibilities.

My initial discovery of the Monster Manor world led me into an absorbing world of excitement and suspense. Luckily, my ending was a lust-filled encounter with a vampire. What could be better? That wasn’t enough for me, so I returned and tried all the opportunities which are many. I would recommend readers do the same as at any point you can return to your car to try again to unlock a romantic interlude with any or all of the men haunting the manor.

Wow this takes me back. I loved game books as a kid. As expected I took the safe route the first time around and ended up with nothing but Orpheus's book. Should've got bitten.

The right, the back door, the white, explore more, the tasmanian tiger, freeze in place, refuse. End.

The second time went better. I got all three guys and the witch gone. Only thing was the bedroom scene was a bit weird. The FMC is normal throughout and then in the bedroom bam dominatrix. It threw me off. Not sure if its any different with the other two guys, but i'm happy where I ended.

The left, run forward, the strange necklace, the archway path, the cemetery, the skull, the basement, the red, continue, banish. the lantern, Orpheus, continue. End.

Nice descriptive writing, the sudden bedroom kink just wasn't for me. Wouldn't mind more of these.

FMC - You
Guys - Dominic, Claremont and Orpheus
Bad guy - Scarlet

“Meaty pops into your head, the kind of thick salami you want to wrap your lips over.”

Do you remember those choose your own adventure books from when we were in elementary school? This was a kinky version of that. It also gave me a non singing feel of Rocky Horror Picture Show.

It was fun to read. For me, though, it left me unfulfilled. It could be the short tales to get in all the different options in this “you choose” paranormal romance. How can the FMC be that marvelous, yet she doesn’t inspire me. 🤣🤣🤣 But really. Ugh. It’s weird.

choose your own adult adventure

This really is a choose your own adult adventure! Three different supernatural men and multiple endings, is a great thing!

I just wish that kindle made it easier to navigate these kind of books.

I quite enjoyed this. Perhaps it just brought back the nostalgia of "choose your own adventure" books from when I first discovered my love of reading, but I also really enjoyed the detailed descriptions and definitely enjoyed discovering every possible ending

First of its kind !

I have never read a monster romance or honestly any romance or book in my life that has ever been like this. This book takes you on a completely different journey every time you read. How this author has to set up is you start off the story the same way every single time like a normal story, but at the end of every chapter is a choice and depending on your pick it changes the outcome to your story And you end up with a different ending every time. If you're into single monster Romance with vampires, werewolves and Phantoms Then this is definitely a Book for you. If you're into reverse romances this would also fit you! you can have dead ends where you end up back at the beginning of the story so you have to try again. There is also Several other stories In this book that you could uncover by making certain choices in the book. But even with 3 extra possible endings each has different ways of getting there so every time you read the book it seems like the 1st time. The story(ies) was also very well written and had a nice easy flow even with jumping around. The characters were all very well developed Each with their own characteristics and charm which really added to each of the story lines.

Clever!

I have never seen another book written this way. There probably is loads but I’ve never come across it.

What makes it so clever is that you control the story. Each chapter ending has you picking a different path. You literally click one of two options and it takes you to different chapters to complete the story. What a refreshing way to read a book.

Don’t get me wrong, the storyline was cheesy but it was fun! And I found myself really enjoying it. So clever and the sheer talent to get every chapter correlating with the story you choose.

I’ll definitely be reading more of these types of books!

This was an interesting and fun book to read. Liked how at the end of a chapter you get choices. So you can kind of pick your own adventures. Which also results in multiple endings. I really liked figuring out the different endings. Eventually i read mostly everything out of curiosity. I skipped a few chapters because they were literally the same as other options, but just a slight difference in the first few sentences. So skipped them because i didn't feel like reading the same thing 4 times. I also really liked the characters, they were fun. And all different in characters, also liked how they were all different magical beings. The chapters were short so pretty easy and fast to read.

Choose-your-own-adventure book, but make it paranormal smut. This definitely is a wattpad book, but the writing isn’t terrible.. but it’s also not good. It needs a fair bit of editing.
There are many spicy scenes, but I didn’t gel with the men tbh. I’m more of a dark romance girlie, rather than an old timey wooing type.
Sadly though, this book doesn’t have much depth. The choices are fairly simple and I honestly got a bit bored. I skimmed a lot of it.
My first ending was finding the vampire and he turned me. The second was playing fetch with the werewolf. The third ending was with all 3 of them.

I loved Choose your own Adventure stories as a kid because every read gave you a different but similar story. I loved the Choose your own Adventure mixed with this why choose but only if you read the correct story. A broken down car with no phone service leads to the start of this adventure and your choices all lead further to the history of the Monster Manor with a werewolf, ghost and vampire or to seperate stories with each of the monsters alone. I did read all the options and enjoyed it all. So many different paths to choose and be lead down.

I always enjoy these choose your own adventure books and this is my first time reading a steamy one! It took me 6 reads to get my RH! First was turning into a vampire, second was running away. Three and four ended with me going back home and needing to try again. Fifth time got me to Dominic and ended that way but the sixth got me all the way to the three men! Once I was with them, I guessed on some choices and luckily they were the right choices ‘cause I kept the story going. I also liked that the author put at the end the different ways the book can end.

This felt like a side quest on a video game. There are so many different outcomes you could arrive to based on endless options to choose from within the story. The characters aren't deep, and the plot is minimal, but this was pretty fun to go through! I haven't even made it through all the probable scenarios at this point. There are some paths within the story that have spice. And if you don't like where you ended up, you can go back and make a different choice.
I also found the dialog to be a bit cheesy. It reminded me of an old black and white horror film, but it works for the story.

Love all three guys (studious shy vampire, adorable werewolf, and flirty ghost) and the story is as ridiculous as it is fun and slightly spooky. The writing was sometimes lovely and other times clunky (like "plunged over" being used instead of "plunged into", or "heat pooling in her thighs" instead of between them). But if a few strange word choices and inconsistencies don't bother you it's still a fun read!

it’s different

I think it’s super interesting and different, but it would have been nice if there was a female character that wasn’t me or even if she wrote out a book that followed one timeline on top of having the options. It’s such a good base for an amazing story, I feel like it’s done a disservice by the formatting. But I give her props for all the different connections. First book I’ve ever read like this.

a choose your own adventure with choices to go further in the book with different scenarios. An immature werewolf, a virgin vampire, & a nobleman ghost are your choices at a creepy manor on Halloween. It was OK but hard to maneuver on the computer because when you clicked on your choice it just wanted to highlight it. Frustrating. The story was kind of convoluted with defeating a witch to get your happily ever after with one or all three of the guys. Meh..it was mediocre

The concept of this was super fun. It is like one of those old choose your own adventure books but with monster smut. There are a whole bunch of choices and potential storylines, which was great. unfortunately, it was not particulary well written. It was not terrible either, it was just bland. I found myself skipping of parts and not caring about the charachters at all. So great idea, but not the best execution unfortunately.

I don't usually read these books, but, it's Halloween!! It was a little comical and at times gory. All in all it has some fun parts, not much of a story, we have a lady who's car broke down and ends up at the manor. In the manor we have ghosts, a werewolf and a vampire. You get to choose in which direction you want the story to lead you.

I haven't read a pick your own story in years!

I loved getting back into them, especially one about Halloween. I wasn't sure what to expect, but there was quite the variety of situations. There were a couple of eye roll moments, but not enough to make me give up. Overall this was a fun & very sexy read.

I used to love the Choose Your Own Adventure series as a kid and this is the first romance story that I have read in the same format. I have tried three different scenarios so far and first I ended up as Orpheus's vampire lady, second time round I died and third time I ended up with all three characters.

Hope to read more like this.

I am rating it 3* because I finished it in very few chapters but... do you ever truly finish a choose your fate kinds book?

Anyway, my first round had four or five choices and I finished safe and sound at home accompanied by a bottle of wine to forget what happened on this Halloween night.

I already have another round going 😉

Very new to this!

I was not expecting to be so invested in this story or stories as I should say! I’ve never done a choose your own adventure book and to read the unfortunate endings had me laughing. But the good GOOD ending I was so here for! I’ll definitely check your other stories out!

This was my first choose your own adventure and I had a lot of fun with this.

I did two rounds. The first didn’t really go anywhere and I quickly ended back at the car. The second time around was much more eventful, ending with all three MMCs.

Maybe I’ll do this again around Halloween next year and see if I end with a different scenario!

Ok, I love these kinds of books where you get to pick your own ending. Where there are different endings different scenarios. It was fun, eccentric, and an overall fun read. I still have some HEAs to find but so fun.
