Long and Short of it Guide to the 2022 Midterms: Must Watch Races

Rate this book
What I’m going to say might sound ridiculous considering the perpetual campaign cycle we have been in since at least 2016: the 2022 midterm election season is now officially in full swing. Candidates will start saturating the airwaves with (primarily negative) campaign ads; yard signs will line the streets, and campaigns will fill our inboxes with desperate pleas to chip in just five more dollars. I wouldn’t blame you if you are exasperated and totally over it, but all hands on deck are needed now more than ever. Unfortunately, the Mainstream Media devotes more attention to covering which candidate is up versus down in the polls than informing the public about what the candidates will do for their constituents. That is where the Long and Short of it Guide to the 2022 Must Watch Races comes in. This book is the second in the LSG series, following The Radical Republicans . Like the first book, this book still recognizes that ain’t nobody got time to sift through dozens of articles and watch hours of news clips to piece together what the F* is going on. That is why Must Watch Races just cuts to the chase and gives you the information you need on each race, straight-no-chaser. This book differs from The Radical Republicans in one significant this book provides a comparison and contrast of the two candidates in each race. For Senate races, each candidate’s position on major legislation that passed in the 117th Congress or will come up for a vote in the 118th is detailed. For gubernatorial races, a comparison of specific proposals by each candidate is explained. This book removes the ambiguity and confusion about where the candidates stand, which Republican candidates are going to greater lengths to conceal after winning their primaries. More importantly, it clarifies what the candidates will do to make their voters’ lives better or worse. In case you’re new to the LSG series, let me say again what it is neutral, encyclopedic, or your traditional, straight-laced monotonal guide. If you’re looking for equal parts pros and cons- this ain’t it. If you want a guide that tells the candidate’s whole life story and a laundry list of proposals, this ain’t it. If you’re looking for a stuffy academic communication style, this ain’t it. If you’re looking for a political concierge to help you quickly become more informed and conversant on the issues and the candidates, then you are in the right place.
