Rumours and legend, folklore and tall tails. Swallowed whole by those greedy for what they deemed as excitement. Yet, was there truth hidden within the words? There were only a few who knew the facts. The few who it affected.
Demon filth, always trying to gain corporal form, to be able to feel the physical, emotions which made everything worthwhile. A single taste which stuck, then they would lie cajole and promise anything so they could be free. At what cost? None to them! Yet, all to the humans they invaded, which was massive. Lives wrecked. Cruel-sickening allegiances were made with those too arrogant to know what they did. Jealousy and vicious loathing filled the idiotic woman who thought to control a demon. Summoning, the worst of the worst, unaware of the price she had to pay. Blood.
Life was created, only to drain another of all that could give it breath. In death, the Goddess of moon and light shone bright and took pity on what she saw. Sapped of everything that gave the babe life, she decided. This little courageous bundle needed a second chance.
She was always more than she seemed…
A tale of life, death, love and heartbreak. A curse and prophecy, which could break them all. Magic and destiny clash to fulfil what could be theirs.
Rumours, legend, folklore, and tall-tales. Demon filth has been trying to gain physical form. Not just being a person, but being able to have feelings, emotions, and be like a human. There is no cost to these demons, however, humans lives are being wrecked. Sex and blood were their addictions. After allegiances were made by those too arrogant to know what they did, jealousy and vicious filled a woman who thought she could control a demon. 2 sisters (of different parents), 2 brothers and an ancient curse are the main characters in this book. All of the characters are realistic and if you read the book, then went out in public, you wouldn't know the difference. I empathized soo much with the characters in this book. Dyani was her name. One long since unused, which she hardly uttered, even from her own lips. At first not wanting to be recognised, but now it seemed to no longer matter. Believing she would be gone soon. However, it did matter to her, Dyani, Brayden, and Rylan. By the time, the night was over, there was only one left to speak of the dreadful thing Ina had done. This book too some time for me to stay interested, but it was definitely a good read! I thoroughly enjoyed Ariana and Leon's love for each other! It was so passionate and open. I'm not big on cliffhangers at the end, and I feel this book definitely has that! But, if you like being left in the moment that is the perfect ending then
With this story, Ms. Wrightson has come up with a top story in my opinion. Two sisters (though not of the same parents), two brothers, and an ancient curse ... Ms. Wrightson has built her story from beginning to end in a very exciting and captivating way. There are also some dark aspects to the plot. I could not put the book down, so fascinated was I by the story. The plot reads smoothly and builds into each other. The characters are portrayed very realistically and the reader can empathize with them very well, as well as their emotional state as the story progresses. In this plot, the heroes and heroines are younger than in their usual books. What fascinates me about the story is the plot structure. It's about the trust between the characters and the skills they acquire that affect their actions. Ms. Wrightson doesn't skimp on scenes intended for readers 18 and up, either. But read for yourself, it's worth it. I highly recommend this book to any reader. I hope to learn more of this world, it was fun to read this book.
This is the first book by Josephine Wrightson that I’ve read, and while it’s not my usual genre, I enjoyed it very much. The characters were well-written and the story – demons and vampires and the age-old battle between good and evil – was well-plotted out. I’ll be reading more by this author.
Wow, Loved it. Oh my, what an awesome read. I loved it and Josephine Wrightson has done it again. Superbly written with characters who draw you into a world where nothing is as it seems. A world where curses, demons, witches, and magic play havoc on innocent lives. An age-old curse and how it manipulates the lives of future offspring. Two sisters close to one another. Yet one holds secrets the other does not know. They grow up with love and then become betrothed to future knights. All is as it should be as they prepare for their wedding day. Or is it? Will it be the happy occasion they hope for? Or will evil raise its ugly head? This book is so full of hopes, dreams, and fears. Can divine love conquer all when facing evil head-on? Or does evil sometimes win? Don't miss this one.
Although fantasy novels are not my “go to” stories, I read this one by Author Josephine Wrightson as a book club pick. I must say, this book was excellent, and I will read more by this talented author. The storyline was rich with conflict and tension, and the plot built into a wonderfully conceived saga. The characters were well-developed, and I felt as though I was experiencing their struggles along with them. The ending was very satisfying, but I was sad to say goodbye to these wonderful characters. I enjoyed this book, and I wholeheartedly recommend this one to readers, even if fantasy novels are not your thing. I guarantee that you will be entertained and love the book.
This is an intriguing supernatural fantasy where a young queen gives birth to twin girls. One appears to be a demon though and is taken away by its demon father to be raised as a demon. The other Ariana, appears human and is kept by the Queen and her husband and on the advice of a mysterious old woman is raised in the ways of the sword and truth and justice until they meet again. This is a great little fantasy story that is a bit slow to begin with but it does pick up and some of the action is truly suspenseful and nail biting.
Great read! This book ticked all the boxes for me because I’ve read a few of this author’s books and thoroughly enjoyed them, and I love a good paranormal fantasy story. Two half-sisters, two brothers—a secret and a curse that needs to be broken. Between them, can they break the curse? Salvation is a fast-paced, engaging story. It is well written with likeable characters. I really enjoyed this book and can highly recommend it.
Salvation is the story of deceit and demons, arranged marriages and love, good and evil. Skillfully told by Josephine Wrightson, the reader is led from the beginning of a curse through a journey of love by two princesses leading up to the culmination of the curse. A slow burn read from one of my favorite authors. I was gifted a copy in exchange for my honest review.
I loved the richness of the writing and its sexy undertones, but I wished there had been more descriptions of the characters and settings—great imagination and story outline.
