After a Sioux attack on her wagon train, and being the only survivor, Dori is faced with having to deal with Wild Wind, a Sioux Warrior she had wounded, but refused to kill. He, in turn, insists he owes her because she did not kill him. Having once been an Army scout, he speaks English and he offers to escort her to Oregon, and make sure she gets there safely, even though she refuses his help. Now, she can’t get the warrior out of her life or out of her mind.
I like HEA novels. In my opinion, this is not one. My advice, skip this book. This is the second novel I have read written by Ms Johnson. The first was boring and it earned one star. This was tragic and sad so l gave it one star also. I think I will not bother to read any more of her novels.
This story is full of history the unfairness of how the Indians was treated. Love was all though this story.,it was a real reality checks . I think anyone over 18 can read.
Glad this ended out ok. But we still to this day don't except every skin color as equal. Only then can this world be in harmony. But humans being fickle minded will not ever treat everyone as equal.
Hmm, this book. This book is more about her, Dori, than it is about them. Wild Wind has a small part in this book, which is quite displeasing. Although the book was okay. I can't fault Miller's place in the storyline, good man and character just wish he had his own book. I give it three stars because of the lack of interaction between Wild Wind and Dori. The fact that Dori had a sexual relationship with 4 men during this book is a bit unsettling, lol. Not to mention, I couldn’t understand when she had “relations” with Wild Wind but the 2 times. Confused on that. Although I like Miller it did not make me happy at Wild Winds ending, although it did make me cry.
