“The last thing I truly heard was my own desperate scream, reminiscent of the screams of my loved ones as my Fate befell me. That kind of fear warps one’s mind, the trauma of losing everything all at once. If I ever was to escape this purgatory, this personal hell, I could not be who I once was; even if I wanted to.
I’d been cursed.”
In a curse-fueled tale of the survival of one’s body and spirit, Celessa finds that the starless night sky isn’t the only mystery to plague the realm. The emergence of her terrifying, unexpected power might just be the catalyst to upset the balance of the world, challenging mortality and divinity alike.
Awakening from more than a century of imprisonment, a torturous sleep cast over her by a Dark Mage, Celessa finds herself plunged into further chaos. Now, she must navigate her way through the land that was once her home in search of safety and peace. With outcast vampires, corrupt Mages, and unpredictably powerful Gods in pursuit; each step forward is more treacherous and uncertain than the last.
Journey through the Three Kingdoms and further with a woman of forbidden blood in uncovering the truth behind her explosive abilities. With magic that continues to grow in potency, there is no choice but to fight against monsters and men to preserve her own life, battling for safety and freedom from the forces in pursuit of her destructive gift. To survive, Celessa must elude enemies, win battles, and follow her head rather than her heart — if she can.
Elements of betrayal, mystery, steamy romance, and brutal action lead our noble lady on a quest no mere mortal could endure…
Haven’t read a book this good in such a long time! Magic, spice, world building, Gods/Goddesses, lots of twists and mystery. Definitely keeps you guessing.
What an incredible well written book. The plot, characters and world building is beautifully done, keeping you hooked at every turn of the page. Jordyn has created a beautiful story, and I can’t wait for her to release more books.
After being imprisoned and tortured for over 100 years, we follow Celessa’s journey whilst she battles with betrayal, love, chaos, hurt, family and her own dangerous power. We watch her confront the past whilst facing her future.
Celessa’s character is so emotionally developed, you find yourself fully understanding her actions, thoughts and emotions throughout. The world building is very well done, the descriptions are well thought out and you are not overloaded with info, everything is given to you at the perfect moment. The plot is beautifully complex, the pace is excellent and the characters are well described, I didn’t find myself forgetting who was who which is an often occurrence in fantasy books. There is nothing I would change about this book. I hope that Jordyn and this book get the popularity and love that they deserve. I am recommending this to anyone that will listen.
AMAZING!! The world building is phenomenal in this book. The world of “Celessa the cursed “🤯. I don’t know that I can put words to how good it is. She is held in a state of sleep and torture for over 100 years by a dark mage for power that runs through her veins. Only to be freed by a lost family member Maygen. This books has sexy vampires 🌶️🌶️, Dark Fae, Gods and Goddesses and Elves. So many twist and turns that I NEVER saw coming. Every detail that is given to you about Celessa is important and will make sense later if you pay attention! And that ending oh gosh!!! I need book two so I can read it right now. Celessa goes through so much loss and pain when freed when she just trying to learn the truth about who she is and trying to get to place she live in peace. This book is full of trials and adventures. Spicy romance and heartbreaking loss. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I loved this book! It was exactly what I wanted and needed. Good word building and character development, lots of unexpected twists and excitement. I loved the development of Celessa and her powers and found myself with teary eyes a few times.
Ended slightly abruptly and went on to uncover truths from before the book started. Definitely left me wanting more! Fingers crossed for a second book.
This is not a genre I usually read, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into it. I just finished reading and I am beyond amazed at how captivating this novel was. The world-building paints a picture which transports you right in alongside characters who are all beautifully flawed and relatable and whose stories you really want to learn, inside and out. Jordyn's masterful storytelling and skillful use of language weave a story that kept me engaged through the last page and left me aching for the sequel.
This book was so good! There were so many twists and turns that keep you on your feet! The chaos was woven into the story beautifully, and there was no shortage of it! I cannot wait to beta book two! I am so so so excited to be a part of your book journey!!
Oh. My gosh. I could not put this down. A whirlwind of emotions and finding personal connections to Celessa and how she navigated life and her emotions. I cried, I closed the KU app countless times in anger and shock just to come right back. This book held me in such a tight grasp, every turn, every plot twist. This is definitely a favorite of mine after reading. My only wish was that we could have seen Celessa and Aklys come back to each other in some way, but I truly hope this isn’t the end for her story. I will definitely be revisiting this book. Truly amazing!

The world of Celessa is detailed and well thought out; with little details and ideas that don’t seem important until they’re holding a knife to your throat. Things that a reader may have batted an eye at come back full force.
The beginning was slow— but all books that have to go through immense world building, like this one, are.
The action and spice were top notch and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series.
Travel through Celessa’s world as she uncovers truths about herself. Feisty and strong-willed, it doesn’t take long to side with our heroine as she battles obstacle after obstacle. Heartfelt and poignant are the characters who care for her, while sharp and conniving are those who are after her. Twists and turns throughout the journey make it a ride to determine who is whom along the way. The author has a true knack for world-building, and it is a pleasure to let the fantastical carry you away while you read. With something for everyone - magic, adventure, romance - Cursed Is the Blood is an immersive experience that will turn pages for a variety of readers.
I was pulled into this world within the matter of the first paragraph!
Follow along as Celessa not only finds her way in a new world, but also her own identity and powers as they grow. It's full of adventure, heartache, and finding oneself in the midst of chaos and loss. You will feel attachment to the characters, feel like you are following their course and like you are in the three kingdoms.
This is a can't out down read that you don't want to miss out on!
This is an amazing work of paranormal literature. The world building and character development are outstanding and I found myself completely immersed in the world of Celessa and those around her. It truly is a novel, not a quick read and the plot is complex, with many emotional moments. Jordan Moretti is clearly a talented author and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.
An amazing story of a woman scorned and torn down, then forced to trust in herself and her own power. Battle scenes, lust, gore, etc. One of my favorite fantasy titles of all time, hands down! Fae, mages, vampires, it has it all!
AMAZING. I will read this book every year❤️ it's action packed and SEXY. It has wonderful characters you can't help but love and the story itself is so unique
After reading a few (imo) awful books, I was very happy to start reading Cursed is the blood. It was far more descriptive than anything I've picked up recently. The start was well written, I could see and feel along with the main character. The main character has been kept prisoner for 100 years and eventually gets rescued. So one character becomes two and I'm excited to see how they get on and escape their fate. Spoilers ahead
So the main character and her rescuer reach a town. Her rescuer is suddenly kidnapped and the main character is quickly hidden by a man in his house. Turns out he's a long lost lover and she's so happy to see him and he, her. She is told that her rescuer/niece/friend has been taken by very evil men who will be s assaulting her immediately. But sure lets wait until she's gone through all that before we save her. Rather than worrying about her rescuer, main character gets all hot under the covers for her ex and even though she's been kept asleep and hostage FOR 100 YEARS, goes to have sex with him. She's mentioned that her body is destroyed by being asleep for so long and that she's basically a bag of bones. But somehow she's the sexiest thing since garters.
I could keep doing a blow by blow on exactly what happens but basically every scene feels like "and then we were there. And then we did this. And then this happened". All the characters don't speak between scenes of conflict or sexual scenes. Like the rescuer is no longer even a person, just a background character to the main character. She sets up the tent. There's one small line that says they chit chat and get on very well. But no proof of that, no build up. Just the main character going through all the angst and feeeeelings. Everyone only exists for the main character to let out her feelings on. None of them feel real.
So I couldn't finish. Cursed is the blood seems to be confused about what its supposed to be. If its supposed to just be smut, why put in the effort to world built and create a revenge story. If its supposed to be a fantasy book, stop making everything sexual. Its like two stories were written and just smooshed together.

I just don’t know how this book got past editors. This was really not great. The characters are a mess and I had no emotional attachment to any of them. There was zero world building or explanation of almost anything in the book. The entire love triangle was ridiculous and nonsensical.
I just think maybe not everyone should get published and maybe some editing is really needed for BookTok books because almost all of them are very poorly written. Don’t get me wrong, the premise here had so so much potential if the characters, plot and world building had some sort of meat to it. I can’t remember half the characters and their significance nor had any emotional connection. Plus the FMC WAS THE WORST WRITTEN OF THEM ALL. I just wish this had an editor to stop the author and get some character development, world building and some sort of sense into it.

Edit: finished the book and will update my review to an actual review but it's a 2.5-3/5 but went with 3 since 2.5 seemed a little low as I did enjoy the last half of this book.
DNF at 18%
Liked the premise but the FMC acts like a petulant child literally the entire time and im not here for it.
There might be spoilers below but not sure since everything happens in the first quarter and my short rant is not really plot related at all.
Anyways what did me in was the way she treated Thibault. She's been asleep, presumed dead, for over 100 years. After she wakes up she is reunited with him, whom she was in love with before all this happened. However he fell in love with someone else during this time. Obviously. And she completely loses her shit over it but still thinks it's okay to kiss him? After he said he was with someone else? Literally right after she states that its not a good idea for them to spend time together then she turns right around and says they have catching up to do and kisses him. And then goes to bed with him and then blame Aloise when she catches them that she's the problem, not realizing that she, Celessa, the MC is the OW in this situation. Later, after a confrontation she gets angry that he didn't come check on her but instead spent the night with Aloise and throws a childish fit about it.
Done. I don't have the patience for characters like this anymore. I'll probably skip to the end to see how it ends and hope she grows as a character but ya not for me unfortunately

A very unique fantasy novel. Beautifully written. Character development was well done and you will find yourself rooting for the good ones and despising the bad ones. Storyline was complex yet not hard to follow. Word building and explanation of the different elements was done just right with not too much information all at once. Can’t wait for the next in the series!
Amazing, awe inspiring, captivating. Just some of the words to describe this book. If you want to escape reality and enjoy a great read, this is for you. The details will have you immersed as if you were there. VR for your own mind. Then the story! Something for everyone. Love, friendship betrayal and everything in between.
Ooh, I loved this! It was an emotional rollercoaster, and I definitely shed some tears, but the world building was great, the characters were interesting and complex, and the plot kept you engaged from the start.
Celessa had been through quite a bit before we even met her, and the hurt didn't stop coming, as we followed her journey throughout this book. It was hard to know who to trust!
I am truly looking forward to book two, and seeing how this amazing story continues. This was a great read!
