The whole premise of the story was a second chance again at marriage when one of them left the other, a week before the wedding. Personally I think the female character was written too sympathetically , it had been 9 years, and they both still loved eachother. Really? Ok for an extremely lite read with each character given their chance to tell their story taking turns throughout the book. Clean
Clara Harrington moved to San Francisco after her heart was broken by the man she loved. He had put work before her and their relationship, and after the breakup she’s kept her heart safeguarded. Her joy comes from owning a wedding planning business. One that could take her to new heights if she can successfully create the perfect wedding for a young Hollywood star. Andrew Cross was the man who broke Clara’s heart. An accident that nearly cost him his life and left him scarred, made him realize all the mistakes he had made with Clara, and his stepbrother. After that realization, he was determined to make amends. Fate gives him a chance to see Clara after all these years, and apologize to her, when his brother asks him to be the best man at his California wedding. Will they have a second chance? Will Clara take a chance in trusting Andrew and finding that the love is still there? Or will the past hurts and actions keep them apart. This was a sweet, touching, clean romance about how sometimes priorities are misplaced. Sometimes it takes a life changing situation to make one realize that life is short, and should be spent with those you love. A great start for the new series. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
First, let me say that anyone who can walk in these beautiful shoes has my utmost respect! Seriously gorgeous. And it works for the perfect couple... Even if it takes a while for them to figure it out, Clara Harrington and Andrew Cross are perfect for one another. Their story covers the entire spectrum of emotions for them and it was such a great love story. It started out high, then low, then lots of struggles in between. But then the uphill road to their HEA was so very good for them and made for a wonderful story.
I loved the setting – northern California – and could hear the ocean as I read, I swear! Reading about their hard work to get to a good, solid place in their relationship was very special. I could feel their excitement, I could feel their anguish, and most of all, I could feel their love. It was there, they just had to work hard enough, together, to find it.
This book lacked in providing any sort of emotional connection with the MCs. I couldn't feel any spark, let alone believe that after almost a decade, they still held a torch for one another. The story seemed predictable for the most part, or didn't have any surprise elements. I hated all the side characters except the lady who owned the chapel (either because the other characters weren't talked about in depth, or they were just frustrating - you would know who I am talking about). Would have loved a stronger plotline where we can connect with the characters and feel any sort of spark or connection between them.
Clara and Andrew have a past together that didn't end well. Clara is creating a magical wedding for a starlet that is top secret, so when Andrew shows up, Clara is completely caught off guard. She had no idea he is the half brother of the future groom. This story is sweet and engaging with mostly likeable characters (you'll see what I mean when you read the book). I like how Andrew and Clara's friends stand by her and help her out when she needs it most. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I highly recommend it!
Jennifer Faye never seizes to amaze me with her original plots. This is my new favorite book by her. Clara Harrington had her heart destroyed by her one true love. She’s now safeguarded it and moved on with her life as a wedding planner. Andrew Cross broke Clara’s heart, but after a tragic accident, he has re-examined his faults and shortcomings he directed to Clara and his brother.
This book truly touched my heart and soul. It should be read by all. The lessons and messages incorporated in this book, we all should strive to adhere too. Well written and a book shelf Keeper.
When Andrew broke up with Clara just before their wedding she left DC for California and started the wedding planning business she had been dreaming about. When an accident causes a long hospital stay he realizes he needs to make some changes in his life as well as making amends to some people. He doesn't t expect Clara to give him another chance but I was hoping for a happy ending for two people who deserved it.
Though Clara was a jilted bride she puts her heart and soul into planning weddings. She's good at her job, even if she gets a bridezilla. A life changing accident forces Andrew to rethink his past mistakes. Reconnecting with his brother and Clara are his main concerns. I love a good second chance romance and Clara and Andrew's story does not disappoint. I read an advanced copy of this book
Clara never stopped loving Andrew and here he was--the best man at his half brother's celebrity wedding and her company was planning the wedding. This is a delightful, clean romp about second chances, difficult brides, and family--those you are born into and those you chose. Recommended for a fun summer escape.
I enjoyed reading The Bride's Pink Shoes by Jennifer Faye. I loved getting to delve into the lives of Clara and Andrew. It was fun to get to see the backstory of their history together. It was also good to see how much Clara loved being a Wedding Planner. I look forward to reading the rest of the Sea breeze Wedding Chapel Book series.
Cute, clean read. Ups and downs. Second chances. Some that work and some that didn't. Not recognizing what you have till it's gone. Learning to communicate, compromise. Easy afternoon read.
This is such a fun book to read with a clean albeit, second, romance. It was fun to see the main character work her bridal magic. Such a fun story, I might have to read more in this series!
Jennifer and romance go together like coffee and sugar. This romance is so good and the storyline is one that I haven't read before. It is just amazing what Jennifer can do with a romance. Jennifer hit a grand slam with this!
This was a good book, but it did move a little slow. It had a HEA it just took a while to get to it. It doesn't have as much action as it should, just a lot of repetition
This is a light second chance romance. A little angst and nothing beyond a little kissing. Just two people with a second chance to make the right choice.
I found this book to very rushed and un realistic I am quite disappointed really… it nearly was a DNF but I’ve never not finished a book and I can’t start now 🫤
Easy to pick up & put down on your Holibobs. Sweet story about break-up and make-up. What more can I say. Shouldn’t make you put more words than are needed!
This is a very quick and easy afternoon read. A sweet second chance romance centered around Ms Clara who is working as a wedding planner and Andrew, the best man of the groom to be, broke her heart years ago. Will they take a chance and try again?
THE BRIDE’S PINK SHOES is another fun read by Jennifer Faye! What I liked about this book was the beautiful cover (loved the shoes), very relatable characters and a well written second chance romance. Andrew will have you believing how he is a changed man and gets his girl, Clara, back. Highly recommend!
