Reporting with Business Objects and SAP: Efficient SAP Reporting with Crystal Reports, Xcelcius, Webintelligence, and Polestar
Business Objects Enterprise XI - Business Objects' BI platform - consists primarily of extraordinarily powerful reporting tools. This solution portfolio helps companies to use and present data in corporate reports, dashboards, etc. It allows anyone from IT professionals to business users to managers to design highly professional and customizable reports and interactive dashboards, and distribute them to many people. One of the main strengths of Business Objects is its user-friendly interface to a variety of features.
In July 2008, SAP and Business Objects laid out a roadmap for the company's products going forward. Longer term, SAP's BEx tools will be replaced (BEx will no longer be developed, but will be supported until at least 2016). Business Objects is already using SAP NetWeaver BI applications, and a fully integrated solution is expected to be available in 2010.
This book introduces readers to all aspects of the new Business Objects portfolio for reporting and shows specifically how the different tools are used most efficiently and profitably. This involves basic, introductory presentations, and moves on to concrete step-by-step instructions on how to work with the tools, including many screenshots. It first introduces general Business Objects reporting and the data, before moving into in-depth chapters at the specific technologies involved including Portal, Crystal Reports, and Xcelcius.
The book also educates the reader about which area of the Business Objects tools might work best in a given situation, where possible benefits offered in parallel to the existing SAP NetWeaver BI tools, and how alternative solutions can be successfully implemented with Business Objects tools.
