Do the Adamses have more to fear from the living or the dead? "He grabbed the edge of the ice, clinging desperately. Murky water filled his boots, becoming as weighted anchors. Numbing cold squeezed his limbs as he tried to scream for help. But his chest hurt. It was hard to breathe. His heart beat wildly in his thin chest. Water seeped inside his clothing, his skin turned to ice. He stared up at the sky. The ice cracked again, creating fragments of drifting sheets. As his glove caught on the jagged edge, his hand slid out. Dark water swirled over him as he began to sink into the frigid depths of the black void." Twenty-five years have passed since eight-year-old Carl Weber drowned in Gray's Pond, and now one member of the Adams family has returned to Kimberton, Pennsylvania, to reside once again in the old mansion. It is time for Mark Adams to revisit his past, and for his wife Donna and daughter, Kim, to become acquainted with their neighbors, a rather odd old couple who own the farm next door. Each day, however, brings strange occurrences, increasing paranormal activity, till it becomes agonizingly clear that ghosts of the past are trying to make their presence known. As the search for the truth be.
Award Winning Author Tamera Lawrence loves to entertain readers with edgy thrillers and nonfiction paranormal.
Based upon the Mayflower Hall building, Pennhurst, GHOSTS OF MAYFLOWER I&II is based on true life haunted encounters. Pennhurst State School and Hospital had been opened from 1908 to 1987. It had closed over allegations of neglect and abuse. The property has since been turned into a Halloween attraction. I have been on several television shows regarding Pennhurst, including GHOST ASYLUM, A&E'S Worlds Biggest Ghost Hunt and in 2021 PORTALS TO HELL (Travel Channel with Jack Osbourne & Katrina Weidman.)
My Other books: WRECKER CREEPER (romance/thriller) THE POND (paranormal suspense) Award winning ASYLUM (Fiction horror/suspense -( based on Pennhurst's history) THE SLITHER QUEEN (paranormal shape shifter, horror)
Eight-year-old Carl Weber met his untimely death twenty-five years earlier when he fell through the ice of a winter pond one fateful winter evening. Mystery and strange happenings still shroud his tragic death. Mike Adams, his wife, and seven-year-old daughter inherit the beautiful estate across the street from the pond and it doesn’t take long for strange and unsettling events to begin to happen. There are family secrets that don’t seem to want to stay hidden. The odd elderly couple that reside in the farmhouse across the street seem to be mixed up somehow in the paranormal events and ghostly apparitions now plaguing the Adams family.
“The Pond” is an engaging mystery that weaves a wonderful balance of mystery, suspense, paranormal occurrences, and hidden family secrets. There is a wonderful array of characters that breathes depth and realism to help keep the reader completely caught up in the story. I really felt at times that I was almost a part of the family.
All of the unsettling events ultimately take you on a ghostly and chilling ride right up to the end. Lawrence writes a solid story that mystery and paranormal fans will love. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a great and entertaining read. I can’t wait to for Lawrence’s next book.
Something strange is going on in the Adams' family home! Michael Adams and his wife and daughter move back to his childhood home - an old home in a rural area with odd neighbors across the street where a young boy had drowned many years ago. Unexplainable things begin to happen around the house, such as a grandfather clock being overturned in a room by itself, objects getting broken or moved and strange appearances of frogs. Donna Adams finds herself investigating these occurrences to get to the bottom of what is happening to her family, and find out what really happened to Carl Weber that day.
The Pond is a suspenseful thriller, sure to keep you interested until the very end.
