~BR with my favorite peeps (besides my dogs): Todd, Renee, Jewel, and Ele~

What I LURVED:

- Owen

- BOW TIES

- Owen & bow ties

- Owen with a bow tie ON

- Owen with a bow tie OFF

- Owen with a bow tie wrapped around his dick

- Read that last sentence again.

This book is fun and very (VERY) SEXY. I was never bored.

But I was annoyed. With CHAD. More than once.

Owen is such a hot geek, all uptight, smart, and organized, but a total sparkler in bed. It's so hot when geeks get toppy.

But Chad ... Chad doesn't deserve Owen. He just doesn't. He's a douche time and time (and time!) again. He's insecure and has the emotional maturity of a 13-year-old.

He does change ... eventually, but I was not as quick to forgive as Owen.

So Chad was a problem. At least for me.

Another thing that didn't work for ME (because I'm so over and done with M/F) is the focus on Chad's sister, Marley, and her boyfriend. They are the MCs from book 1, and in this book, Austin is planning on proposing to Marley.

Good for him.

I just didn't need The Proposal to take up so much page time. Owen and Chad are both roped into helping Austin with his elaborate plan, which made me want to curl up into a fetal position and whimper. Because.

Public proposals are so NOT my thing, you guys; I got anxious just reading about it.

This was a great buddy read. Megan Erickson is an auto-read for me. She's a very engaging writer, and her books never disappoint.

I recommend for an easy read with a bit of angst, plenty of STEAM (beds are highly overrated!), and a pretty awesome HEA/epilogue.

For comments, questions, and random thoughts, visit our BR thread!

Darlings, it's a new M/M romance from Megan Erickson!

And I. Can't. Fucking. Wait.

I feel like it's my birthday or something.

Owen leaned close, so his breath mingled with Chad’s soft exhales. So the tips of his bow tie touched the edges of Chad’s leather jacket.

When Chad’s breath sped up, when his pupils dilated, Owen knew he had him. “Do you want to know how I’d fuck you?” he asked.

Chad didn’t answer. Finally, he licked his lips. “Yeah,” he said with a croak he didn’t succeed in masking.

Owen let his gaze trail over Chad’s face. “I’d take my time, peeling all these clothes off you. I wouldn’t touch you, though. No, I’d make it so you were naked in front of me, begging, begging for just a brush of my hand on your skin. And then I’d stroke you, nice and slow. I’d bite you, leave my marks behind. And when you’re just about to come, I’d pull you back from the brink. I’d bend you over a couch or a chair or a bed. I’d spread open that sweet ass. I can tell it’s sweet because of those tight jeans you’re wearing.”

That right there? Was Chad and Owen's first meeting. This book is a dirty-talk-lovers DREAM, and it only gets hotter and sexier from there. Head over to Entangled Publishing to read the first mouth-watering chapter for free.

Tied to Trouble is the third book in the Gamers series, Changing His Game and Playing for Her Heart are the first two and both are M/F. I loved Chad's sister Marley so much that I fully intend on braving the M/F romance waters and reading the first two!

Chad acts like an over-grown teenager, not really able to get his personal and professional life in order. He jumps from job to job and is currently a bartender. He harbors a secret wish of going back to school and studying his real passion, graphic design but is afraid of the drastic change and cutting back on his freedom.

Owen is a successful editor at the magazine Gamers which specializes on video games. He is a bit buttoned up and his sexy good looks and bow-tie hook Chad from their first meeting. Chad didn't realize he had a bow-tie fetish until he met Owen.

The two cave to their attraction, quite begrudgingly, and start a steamy sexual relationship that includes sex in strange places. Since both have agreed to "keep things casual" a bed isn't need for them to have quick fucks, blow-jobs and hand-jobs when the feeling strikes.

But in a delicious twist that I absolutely LOVE in M/M romance, they start to have feelings for one another while they are fucking like bunnies. It scares Chad because he really hasn't taken anything seriously in his adult life and Owen is afraid that he is too stuffy for Chad and that Chad will bore of him quickly, so both try to keep their feelings in check. And, oh how wonderful is that to watch!

This was a very light read, heavy on the sex and passion, low on the angst. A perfect read when you wnt something steamy, light and fun. These boys, with all their many differences, are a perfect match!

I absolutely LOVED this book and can HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend it!

Rounding up for dirty talking, bow tie wearing Owen! He stole the show.

I honestly never cared for Chad. He was a bit douchey and woe-is-me and I just never warmed up to him.

I didn't read the other books in the series, this one can easily be read as a standalone. It was a very easy read....entertaining, with some really good steam.

Nothing wowing, a bit predictable, but a good way to end 2015.

***4 Stars***

This was one hell of an addicting, quick and steamy read with some seriously....SERIOUSLY....quality dirty talk!

Owen and Chad had chemistry in spades! They were opposites in personalities, but their attraction was evident right from the beginning. Chad was an easy going, free spirited guy who jumped from one thing to the next when life got a little too boring, whereas Owen was the epitome of boring responsibility. He drove the speed limit in his sensible Toyota, while Chad zoomed around on his motorcycle. Owen had a 9 to 5 office job and Chad's job of the moment was as a bartender with a no shirt needed dress code. And the list goes on...

Their first encounter set the scene for what was going to be quite the explosive chemistry between these two....and Megan Erickson DID NOT disappoint. Chad and Owen didn't even consider trying to deny their attraction...and man oh man am I thankful for that!

What a pleasant surprise Owen turned out to be!! Owen was the perfect blend of nerdy charm that you can't help but fall for him right from the beginning....but then he opens up his filthy mouth and you're left to turn into a puddle of goo. All this from a man whose every day fashion accessory is a bow tie.

"I'd make you beg me for my tongue and my fingers. Then I'd work you open until you were wet and ready. And then...then I'd fuck you so, so slow you wouldn't be able to think about anything other than me. And just when you couldn't take it anymore, I'd speed up the pace and pound you into the bed. I'd ruin you for anyone else."

I'll tell ya one thing....I'll never look at bow ties the same way again!! Oh wait, did I mention Owen doesn't always wear his bow ties around his neck!

One thing that did bother me and kept me from rating this higher was I didn't understand Chad's deep-seeded insecurity and low self worth. It was never addressed where this came from and why he felt this way. He made his own life choices and on the outside was happy to have his free-spirited life, but inside he was harboring bigger dreams and goals that he felt too embarrassed to voice to anyone...even his sister.

Which, while we're on the topic of his sister Marley...I absolutely LOVED her relationship with Chad...and I loved her in general (now I must go back and read her book...because I am beyond intrigued by her relationship with Austin!). She showed nothing but understanding and unconditional love to Chad and was such a supportive sister, so this further confused me where his insecurities came from.

If it weren't for Chad's self doubt and his stubbornness in presuming that everyone thought the worst of him, some unnecessary drama could have been avoided.

This is my second book by Megan Erickson and she has quickly and easily added herself to my list of auto-buy authors. Her writing is addicting, her characters are endearing, her steam is STEAMY and she's got a fan in me!

Who knew bow ties could be so sexy?
description

Chad Lake has avoided "growing up" for a while now. He jumps from one job to the next, refuses to wear a helmet when riding his motorcycle, and avoids any kind of romantic commitment. Owen is a very focused individual, working hard at his job and giving little thought to his social life. The two are complete opposites, yet when they run in to each other a party, sparks fly. Owen and Chad might not like each other, but that doesn't stop them from wanting to hump like bunnies.

Nerd love is guilty pleasure of mine. Give me a couple of computer geeks who like to spend their free time in bed, and I'm a happy camper. 'Tied to Trouble' definitely had that. The two were pretty cute with their "I hate you but I also want to bend you over" thing. I loved how Chad could rile Owen up with a simple nickname, and that Owen could let out his more playful side around Chad.

And the sex. Owen and Chad have a sizzling sexual chemistry from the get-go, and they indulge it many times. The sex doesn't overwhelm the story, but there's definitely a lot of it. I'm not complaining.

However, I was a bit annoyed with both of them at times. I was annoyed at Chad being childish, and at Owen taking on a parental role. Significant others trying to "mother" their partners is just something that skeeves me out. But by the end I think both Chad and Owen understood and acknowledged why their behaviour had been wrong.

I had very little interest in the sub-plot with Marley, Chad's sister, and her boyfriend Austin. I haven't read their story in Changing His Game, so I didn't really care about their relationship. I ended up skimming their parts in the book, which took up probably about a quarter or so.

If you're looking for a quick read that's low on the angst and high in the sexy factor, this is the book for you.

There's just something about Megan Erickson’s nerds that really get to me. Just like there's something about her M/M books that leave me a little weak in the knees. Add the two together, and you’ve a recipe for a truly amazing, sexy hot book.

Chad Lake showed up at his sister, Marley’s party for free food—but what he ended up with was a whole lot more…

Marley’s co-worker, Owen Hawkins is perfectly put together, from his styled hair to his charming bow tie, but when Chad tries to rile him up, he finds himself on the receiving end of some seriously sexy speak instead.

Now, these two—who have chemistry down to an art—are going to be spending more time together, and they’ll have to try to avoid trouble…of the dirtiest kind.

Well, this book took nerdy and dirty to a new level. A new level of fucking amazing, that is. I mean, dorky cock rings? Yes, please. I was done after that—pretty sure this book could have gone in any direction and I'd have faithfully followed along.

But it didn't just go in any direction. It went straight into my heart (and, err, my panties). Despite running a temperature (surprisingly not book related) and writhing around in bed (again, not book related), I was committed to seeing this one through to the very delightful, swoony end. It was just fun. It took my mind off my woes, and gave me the chance to smile, to shiver and to fall in love with bad-boy Chad and Gamers geek Owen.

And how could I not? Even when they were snarking it up at each, they were all intense attraction and electric chemistry. They may have been different—and, hey, they say opposites attract, right?—but they were also so alike. They wanted to be loved and noticed and believed in and needed, and what they gave each other (and me) was all the good feels. ALL. OF. THEM.

This was another knock-it-out-of-the-park home run from Megan Erickson. At this point, I shouldn't be surprised. She has nerdy heroes and magnificent M/M books down to an art form. Just like Owen and Chad’s chemistry. I mentioned that already, right? ~ Beth, 5 stars

~~~
Chad Lake—hot, sexy, independent, stubborn, sarcastic, unfalteringly loyal, loving, talented, scared, self-conscious… in other words, quite an amazingly intricate personality. One word cannot capture all that is Chad Lake.
Owen Harkins—quiet, bookish, nerdy, smart, sexy, rule follower, intriguing, and out of his league. Out of his league with his desire for Chad, even as Chad’s cocky confidence and snarky replies piss him off every time they meet.
Owen is a rule follower—Chad relishes his rule breaking. They say opposites attract and these two couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. But holy hell, they smolder when they’re together and as long as they pull their heads out of their butts long enough to realize what they have with each other is rare and amazing, all will be just fine…
I was so excited when I heard Megan Erickson was writing Chad’s story in this series, and I loved every minute. I loved Chad’s insecurity hidden by all his cockiness and Owen’s hotness factor camouflaged by his nerdy exterior. I loved catching up with Marley and Austin, too. I’ve loved this series from the start and hate to see it ending, but what a finish! ~ Missy, 5 stars
~~~

This series has taught me so much about my sexual proclivities—first, that I love Cosplay (thank you, Grant and Chloe) and now? Now, I’ve learned that I have a bowtie kink. And if you can walk away from reading this book without a bowtie kink of your own, then you’re a much stronger person than I am. Or maybe you’re just less fun. Let’s go with that. I mean, bowties….yum.

We first met Chad Lake as Marley’s free-spirited brother in Changing His Game. Chad has bounced from job to job, and lover to lover— failing to commit to anything serious on either front. At 27, he’s starting to feel restless in his restlessness and is maybe ready to tie himself to something real. When uber nerdy Owen Hawkins crosses his path, Chad decides to ruffle his feathers a bit. A little taunting, a little teasing—just Chad being Chad. What he doesn’t expect is for buttoned up bow-tie man to respond so aggressively—or to have such a filthy mouth. When Owen drops a scorching hot sexy bomb on Chad, Chad becomes hopelessly intrigued.

Owen has heard stories about his boss’s brother. He’s cocky and irresponsible, and a little wild (maybe a lot wild)—all things that Owen isn’t, nor is he interested in those things. But when Chad’s sexy taunts push him too far, he takes the bait and eventually finds that there might be more to Chad than he’d originally given him credit for and— furthermore—that Chad might just be everything Owen needs.

Sweet baby Jesus in a bucket, this book was hot! Half the heat came from the snarky love/hate banter between Chad and Owen. This is no insta-love story—these two can hardly stand each other at first—but their dislike fuels (and heats) their sexual encounters and y’all? Your panties are on notice.

Sexiness aside, it was so sweet watching these two discover that their feelings ran deeper. There were moments that were so tender and touching; watching them navigate their relationship from near hatred to near love was just…adorable, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately very rewarding. And deliciously nerdy. My God, I love nerds. I love THESE nerds.

This book was full of sweet, swoony moments (including some from Marley and Austin which…ugh. LOVE), laugh-out-loud banter across all characters (I seriously snorted a couple of times), and those raging hot sexy times I already mentioned (it bears mentioning twice because, whoa). I devoured this book in less than a day, and it left me smiling, happy, and a little lusty (maybe a lot lusty). Megan Erickson is pretty much a sure thing for me—and this was no exception. ~ Shelly, 4.5 stars

I loved this so much. Dapper Dick FTW yo! Haha. Srsly tho. Chad was fun and cocky. But, as with some of my favorite free-spirited "bad boys", he's actually got this vulnerable insecure side that at some points makes you wanna hug him, and at others... Throttle him. Haha. But Owen and him were such great balances for each other, once they started TALKING in stead of fucking (OMG HOT!! Just FWIW haha) and fighting.

It was lighthearted, sexy reading. Chad & Owen talked nerdy to me and I loved it. <3

Between love and hate, there’s a whole lot of trouble…

I LOVED this book!! This is exactly why I adore reading M/M books!

Love/hate romances are one of my favorite tropes, and I just loved the sparks between Chad and Owen.

He was the kind of guy Owen shouldn’t like, but yet just the thought of Chad lit up his body like fireworks.

Owen is a geeky gaming copy editor with glasses and a bow tie, who works his dream job, even though he feels invisible most of the time. He’s serious and shy, and not good with other people.

Owen had this magnetic presence, this shield that made Chad want to claw and scratch until he saw beneath it.

Chad is a reckless bartender that likes to ride his motorcycle without a helmet. He’s used to disappointing himself and other people, known for job-hopping and fun seeking. But it’s not enough for him anymore, he wants more out of his life. But he’s not sure whether he has the guts to stick to it this time.

They couldn’t be more opposite. But the chemistry between them is intense and instant right from the start. Chad thought he could ruffle the uptight nerd’s feathers when they first meet, but instead Owen is the one who gets the upper hand with the dirty things he whispered in Chad’s ear.

And soon it’s a battle of wits between Chad and Owen.

“And what do you want?”
Chad thought about that for a minute. “I want…to be wanted.”
The earnestness in Chad’s expression nearly broke Owen’s heart. “You don’t think you’re wanted?”
“I think I’m wanted a lot but not…wanted.” He drew out the word, eyes pleading for Owen to understand.
Owen gripped Chad’s face, looking directly into his eyes. “For fuck’s sake, Chad, you’re wanted. You’re wanted so badly I’m surprised you aren’t overflowing with it.”
Chad gripped Owen’s wrist. “Yeah? Who wants me, O?” His voice was a whisper.
Owen answered it with a whisper of his own, watching as Chad’s dark lashes blinked. “Me.”

I loved the romance in this book, and I adored both Owen and Chad. They might be very different, but together they made perfect sense. Owen supported Chad, and made him realise how much potential he had, and how wonderful he was, and Chad saw the real Owen, he made Owen bold and courageous, and I loved it. This book was very romantic, sexy and so sweet at times *happy sigh*

The sexy times were so damn hot!!! Holy hell, this author knows how to write scenes that makes you burn, makes you melt.

I must say the previous M/M book I read was a bit of a disappointment, and made me hesitant to read one again soon, but I’m so glad I decided to read this book. It was wonderful and so romantic and hot, and reminded me again why I love this genre so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Aww, soooo cute!!!

Seeing this is a Brazen read, it's a quick one, for sure. Quick, hot, cheeky, funny, adorable, and hot (yes, I said hot twice *wink*)!

I haven't read the first 2 books in the series. I signed up for this because, well, it’s Brazen, it’s m/m, and it’s about all things nerdy, so how can I go wrong, right? Right!

Chad and Owen met thru a work party where Chad’s sister and Owen work. There’s an immediate attraction there but they couldn’t be any more opposite. So opposite that in fact, they really didn’t care much for each other’s personality but hey, the d!ck, I mean, the heart wants what the heart wants. It’s insta-lust, but who cares!

Chad is laid-back, where Owen is primmer. Chad is still looking for his place in his world where Owen is already settled. Chad is about fun, where Owen is more about responsibility. The perfect match! Both Chad and Owen are quite humorous in their own way. There’s much sass between them, in a totally endearing way. Their banter is smart and cocky and fun (I'm being redundant, I know). I love how they bring out unexpected things out of each other which catches each of them off-guard. And there’s so much sweetness, but not in a saccharine way, if you get my drift, whether it’s b/w Chad and Owen, or Chad and his sister, or any of the interactions, really. Totes adorbs!

If I have any beef, I wish it were longer. Seriously though, how is this my first Megan read, when I even have some of her books already to boot?! Sigh...

Wow, this was really good. I loved Chad and Owen together. Sure Chad was an ass at some point, but I've read way worse and I kinda got were he was coming from. They both made some mistakes..Owen was being a bit of a daddy.

Still..these boys were hot :)) I seriously enjoyed the " very hung, dirty talking,bow tie wearing, nerd " ....yummie ;)

I didn't read the previous books because they are m/f , and I'm not really interested. I would read the fourth book if it's a m/m !! Yeahh....I would really like a fourth book ;)

Totally worth the wait! This book made me happy. The first book was ok, the second book I could have totally done without, but this one, this one I thoroughly enjoyed.

The boys were cute. The sex was hot. The dirty talk was well, dirty and man oh man, the locations made me need a cold shower.

As I am coming to understand, these books are meant to be unbelievable and yes, this one had its moments but I was not annoyed! Not to mention, the big showdown I was anticipating did not go as I thought! Surprise!

The epilogue was so very sweet.

First of all, congratulations to Megan Erickson for the first male/male romance in the Brazen line! That’s a wonderful accomplishment and just goes to show the diversity of romances that people are enjoying reading these days. This is the third book in the Gamers series, and stars Chad, geeky and fun-loving brother of Marley from book 1 (Changing his Game) and Owen, Marley’s assistant and the complete opposite of Chad. Where Chad is a ‘go with the flow’ kind of guy, Owen is a responsible and dependable adult. But opposites attract, and despite the initial animosity between them when they meet at a house party (where Chad doesn’t know who Owen is, but Owen is fully aware of Chad’s identity), it’s just a cover to mask the attraction that sparks between them, an energy that soon leaves them unable to keep their hands off each other. But while a fling might be fun, their lifestyles seem rather incompatible – can they find a way to compromise and make a relationship work or will the thought of getting serious be too much to handle?

I really enjoyed this story! I’m a fan of opposites attract love stories and these two really couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. Owen is a little bit shy, sometimes hesitant, an ‘always does the right thing’ kind of guy. He’s actually quite horrified to find himself attracted to the easygoing, lazy (from all appearances), rule-flouting but hunky man that is Chad, his boss’s brother and definitely someone who should be hands off! But Chad catches his eye, and when he taunts him, Owen finds himself losing his cool, and giving as good as he’s got.

Something in Owen flared to life, something he hadn’t realized was in him. Maybe it was the wine or maybe it was those goddamn Chad Lake pheromones oozing from the man, but Owen wasn’t about to let this guy think he could get under his skin without retaliation. Not that it mattered what Chad thought, but that didn’t stop Owen’s heart from thumping in his chest like a drum as he surged forward and pinned Chad to the wall, quickly reversing their previous position.
Chad’s eyes widened a fraction in surprise, and Owen felt the same. But Chad had caught him on a bad day. A day when he was lonely in a sea of people who should know him, so fuck this man who wanted to prod and mock him.
Finally he licked his lips. “Yeah,” he said with a croak he didn’t succeed in masking.

Chad on the other hand, finds it kind of amusing that a nerdy, upright, bow tie wearing, guy like Owen even catches his attention, never mind that he finds himself attracted to him. He loves pushing his buttons, especially when he gets the kind of reaction that stimulates them both into overdrive. The result is a steamy, sticky affair, with lots of hot sex. But Chad’s personality as a fun loving and carefree man really masks some hidden insecurities, the ones that have him hiding his real talents for fear of actually having to do something worthwhile with them. While his sister Marley has never pushed him too far, Owen is the opposite, making Chad want to prove himself and better himself too. And Chad does Owen a favour too, making Owen become a little more spontaneous, applying the assertiveness that’s been waiting for an outlet to both his newfound relationship with Chad and his career. They both bring out the best in each other, and while there is conflict in their relationship with the thought of bringing it out into the open (not from a gay standpoint but because of their respective relationships with Marley) the plot is well handled and moves smoothly along to a very satisfactory ending. I loved the cameo appearances of Marley and Austin too. It’s the first read to go in my best of 2016 folder, and a delightful, entertaining and sexy story. 5 stars.

Tied to Trouble is the third book in the "Gaymers" series and the first male/male book to grace the Brazen line of books! This is an awesome book! I loved Owen and Chad - I just can't think of enough ways to say how much I loved this book!!!
I am going to try though with ...
Top 10 things I FLoved about this book:

Megan Erickson Had me laughing and had my heart strings being pulled throughout this book! I mean how could you go wrong with a book that includes super hero's such as... “The Dapper Dick.” “Superpowers: self-lubricating cock and ability to have and give multiple orgasms.” Everyone's ultimate dream hero, right?!?

With moments such as...
He wanted to see him come apart. He wanted to see him lose it. And he wanted to be the reason for it.

Do yourself a favor and read this book!!

That boys and girls is one of the best lines I've ever read in a book. And the reason he's saying it? Classic. I'll be an old lady sitting on my porch and I'll still say it's one of my favourite lines in a book.

This is the story of Chad and Owen. When I was hearing about this book their relationship was described to me as a love/hate one. Really, I would describe it more as a "you wind me right up bawheed, I'm going to kiss you to shut you up, you infuriating sexy man you, also I want cuddles after" kind of relationship. Which pretty much describes my marriage so obviously I was hooked! These two drove each other crazy in the best possible way. There was so much delicious tension between them and they were off the scales hot together. Their relationship was in no way just sex though, even though they were complete opposites we got to see them open up and expose their vulnerabilities to each other. I loved Chad's character development especially, which was brought on by Owens presence in his life. I did like that he didn't just do it for Owen though, he did it for himself as well.

Readers who are a fan of romance books need to read this book and the previous two books. All the books in this series are fun, sexy, low angst, sexy, well written, sexy books. Also this is the first M/M Entangled Brazen book which is just fantastic!

*more incoherent fangirling*

Because Chad and Owen, you guys.

^That's what first came to mind upon finishing this book. And while it may seem silly, it's 100% true. Tied to Trouble was everything I had hoped Chad's story would be and then some. I have zero complaints about it. What I do have is a lot of fangirl screams, a ton of quotes highlighted on my Kindle, and a deep love for Chad and Owen.

I devoured this book, literally devoured it. For the first time in quite a while, I was pissed when life got in the way and prevented me from sitting down with these two men. I needed to return to Chad and Owen, dammit, why couldn't the rest of the world just leave me in peace for a few hours? [Oh, the reader struggle!]

I believe the best way to do this review -- and hopefully keep the fangirling to a minimum -- is to share some favorite quotes that really sum up the many things I loved about TtT. Note: this is only a small, very small, fraction of quotes from my Kindle. And it was so very hard to pick!

Tied to Trouble is ridiculously sexy. And I loved every dirty minute of it. These two were sparking -- and sparring -- from the very beginning, and I have a lot of NSFW sexy passages highlighted.

That was . . . yeah, quite the scene. They were having a bit of a competition to see who could come first. Truly, it was a win-win-win. A win for each of the boys, obviously, and a win for the reader, too. :D

If you've read the previous books in this series, you've met Chad, and you know that he's a very fun character. This book is sexy, of course, but it's also funny. For example, there's the whole Dapper Dick joke:

The Dapper Dick was a NSFW superhero drawing that Chad did, based on Owen.

When the fantastic chemistry and the wit collide...YESSSS.

There's also some really rather sweet/emotional parts.

Feels. All the feels. And this was around 60%. I still had so much to go through with these two!

I could go on. I'm not joking when I say I have pages of quotes and scenes highlighted. And all for different reasons. Some made me laugh or smile. Others made me blush. Still others left me with all the feels, or hit home because it was something I could relate to.

This may seem odd, but I was surprised when I checked Amazon for the total number of pages (175). This book did NOT feel that short. At all. I'm not sure how to explain it, but you know how there are some books that feel so rushed and short, yet have two or three hundred pages, while there are other books that are shorter in length but feel so complete and thorough and just PERFECT? Tied to Trouble falls into the latter category. Would I have liked more? Sure, but only because I'm greedy when it comes to Erickson's books, especially Chad and Owen. There was nothing missing, there was nothing more that I needed in order to say the book was complete. That's a hard thing to accomplish, regardless of the length of the book.

This book was simply the most perfect book I've had the pleasure of reading in a long time. When a book can make me hot, make me happy sigh, make me smile and make me feel, that is a book that I want to revisit again and again, a book that I want to shove into everyone's hands, a book that I won't be forgetting. Thank you, Megan, for giving Chad his story. I really can't thank you enough.

4 stars!

The short of it: I will never look at bow ties the same way, ever again. I always thought they were cute and adorable, but - thanks to Megan - a whole new world has opened up. Apparently they've got several uses...

Tied to Trouble is the third book in what is one very nerdy, sexy, fun adult romance series. These books are blissfully low on angst, much more concerned with bringing two characters together in as indecent way as possible. I've been dying for Chad's book ever since the beginning, and I couldn't have been happier that he was paired with Owen. Theirs is a romance that has a seriously hot combination of hate-to-love and opposites attract. Tension, heat, lust, and desire swirl when they first lay eyes on each other, and watching the journey to more kept me up way past my bedtime.

Chad is your happy-go-lucky, fly-by-the-steat-of-your-pants type of guy. He's liked by all and he likes pretty much anyone. He isn't picky. He doesn't do commitment, whether that's in life, in career, or in love, and he's content with that... maybe. What most people don't know about him is that he's a talented graphic designer, and he would love to pursue that dream, if only he wouldn't quit when things get tough. Chad is the complete opposite of Owen, who isn't reckless or socially outgoing. Owen is more quiet, clean cut, and completely put together. He can be stiff and awkward but he's such a nice guy too. Being nerds is about the only thing these two have in common, that and a hefty dose of (unwanted) sexual attraction. They aren't each other's type, and they can't even have a conversation without arguing, yet they can't keep their hands to themselves. It's maddening for them but oh so fun for the reader. And of course you can count on Megan to write some of the steamiest and unexpected sexy times, especially in this series. (Remember: bow ties!!)

But what I enjoyed so much about Chad and Owen's romance - and what the two refuse to acknowledge out loud - is that they bring out different sides in one another. Owen is assertive and confident with Chad, a demanding partner who gives as well as he receives. He didn't think he'd be attracted to someone like Chad, a guy who smirks and who is the life of the party, but Chad challenges Owen and keeps him on his toes. With Chad, he wants to be a better man for Owen, someone Owen can be proud of, and for the first time in his life he thinks he might be ready for that C word. Of course, things aren't exactly smooth for them, but the desire turned to longing between them is so beautifully done. I wanted them to find their happy ending so bad, which is how I know I'm reading something special.

The Gamers series is one I will never hesitate recommending, especially if you're looking for a romance that is on the lighter and shorter sides. It combines nerdy and kinky in a way I haven't read before, and the couples are so easy to root for. I can't wait to see whose book Megan writes next!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for approving my request in exchange for my honest review.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I have loved Megan Erickson's Gamers series from the start, mainly because I like geeky/nerdy characters and this series has been full of them. In my review of the first book of this series, Changing His Game, I said, "And please don’t tell me I’m the only one that wants to see Chad and Marley’s best work friend Owen get together…I can’t possibly be the only one that had that thought!" Well, guess what? Tied to Trouble is that book and I was pretty excited about it. I must give credit to all the fans like me who wanted this story, to Megan Erickson for fighting for it and writing it and to Entangled Brazen for choosing this book as their first every Gay (M/M) romance. This enemies to lovers story was incredibly entertaining and sizzling hot, but I would have liked to see them connect on a more emotional level something that never really seemed to happen.

As much as I loved Chad Lake in the first book for his witty, geeky and sometimes inappropriate advice he gave to his sister in this book I found him to be a bit immature and incredibly insecure. So much so that there were times I was thinking Owen could do so much better. There was no denying their attraction to one another or the fact they were compatible on that front, but Chad's inferiority complex became a bit much because over and over he let it get in the way of his happiness.

I have nothing but great things to say about Owen Hawkins and his bow ties...holy smokes not going to lie I thought of Justin Timberlake in glasses and a bow tie throughout this book. What I loved most is watching Owen start to believe in his abilities not only at work but as having something to offer in a relationship. When he goes all bossy toppy on the cocky Chad and leaves him speechless that was one of those priceless moments in this book.

While these two meet at a party thrown by Chad's sister and Owen's co-worker Marley and her boyfriend, Austin they get off on the wrong foot so when Austin asks their help with a big surprise he has planned for Marley they are thrown together and have to figure out a way to work together. Mostly though they seem to trade insults and then f*ck it out and I'm not complaining because there were some amazingly inventive and entertaining sessions between these two.

I pretty much enjoyed this book with the exception that I would have liked Chad and Owen to have a couple of really good heart to heart talks and for them both to see they had a lot to offer someone else. I really hate when people think they have to change to please someone else, that they can't be happy with the person they are. There just seemed to be a big emotional disconnect even though this book has a good ending.

While not my favorite in this series, I would not have missed this story for anything. I was happy with this paring despite my concerns and I look forward to what happens next in this wonderfully geeky series.

PS--I'm not much on graphic novels but I'd read the hell out of Dapper Dick!

SUPER dirty and sexy. Really enjoyed - one hero is a geeky guy who works for a gaming magazine. The other is a bartender who doesn't have his life together.

Ever since we met Chad in the first book of the Gamers series, I've been excited about the possibility of a book for him. I couldn't be happier that Megan Erickson and Entangled decided to publish Chad's story as Brazen's first M/M novel - it lived up to every expectation I had. Tied to Trouble and his love interest, Owen were everything that I wanted for Chad and so much more.

From what I could gauge in the first book, Chad was a fun-loving, a little on the flaky and irresponsible side, but still someone that somehow is able to bring a ton of joy to any surrounding he was in. I was surprised by his inner thoughts in Tied to Trouble because the guy had so many insecurities and fears that prevented him from being entirely happy in both his romantic and professional lives. In this book, he finally start to take the steps he needed to feel satisfied with his life and chase after his dreams and I couldn't be happier for him. The one character in Tied to Trouble that took me by surprise was Owen. This man! Nerdy, a little snobby and an introvert, but ultimately someone who doesn't reveal much about himself to those around him, Owen was a delight and he wound up being a character that I absolutely loved because of what a sweetheart he turned out to be.

The two of them started off on the wrong foot, constantly bickering, convinced that they weren't the right person for each other, but there was no denying just how much hot chemistry they had. I loved that I-hate-you-but-I-also-want-to-rip-off-your-clothes-and-do-things-to-you-that-are-illegal-in-some-states tension. It was done really well and not to mention, all that fighting and pent-up sexual tension was so much fun for me as a reader. I couldn't get enough of it. There were a ton of sexy times in Tied to Trouble, each one more unique than the previous one (bow ties will NEVER be the same for me - Thanks, Megan!) and let me tell you, I was blushing so hard at some of the scenes. What I really loved about the sexy times in Tied to Trouble was how it was never gratuitous - some of them truly brought out the tenderness and emotional side that existed to Chad and Owen's relationship. Through them, it dawned on the two that even though they had clashing personalities, they were perfect together, bringing out the best in each other with how supportive and loyal they were - a relationship that's flawless in my eyes.

Changing His Game remains my favorite book in Megan Erickson's Gamers series, but Tied to Trouble comes in very close at second place. The author's writing of these relationships filled with love, nerdiness, sexiness and complete charm will surely be the death of me. I'm secretly hoping that this is a series she will never stop writing because I will never get enough. I'm still very new to M/M stories, but Megan Erickson and this book specifically have showed me that I'm clearly missing out and that I need more. I will happily take more Brazen and/or M/M novels from this author. :)

ASDFGHJKL!!!
Megan Erickson can do absolutely no wrong in my book. Everything she writes is an absolute delight and I love love love the fact that she's an author who cares so much for her fans. I mean, she wrote a book for a side character even though she had no intention of writing one originally because fans demanded Chad's book.

Anyways, I had such high hopes for Tied to Trouble because I adored Chad from the first book and this book (and Owen) were everything that I wanted for him and so much more. This was funny, steamy and just so entertaining.

Bonus, there's a fun (AND HILARIOUS) graphic at the end of the book that made me laugh so hard.

I'll have a full review up soon. I'm already ready for Ethan's book now. GIMME.

This is a fun read about two men, who have major differences, getting under each other's skin. Chad is the up for whatever type. He drives a motorcycle without a helmet, changes jobs frequently and flirts his way through life. Owen wears bow ties and is all about security and safety.

Being around Chad brings Owen out of his shell. He becomes bold when hit with Chad's shameless teasing. Chad has never been put in his place like Owen does. It's a big turn on for him. Also, it gives him that extra bump in the right direction. Chad has wanted a career for sometime, but knowing someone else believes in him strengthens his resolve.

Tied to Trouble is heavy on the sexy adventures and backs that up with great heart. I enjoyed reading it.

I've been hoping we'd get to read Chad's story since we met him in Changing His Game so I was really excited when I found out about Tied to Trouble. The previous two books in the series were M/F romance but I'm really pleased that more and more authors are mixing their series up a bit and including M/M stories in them too. If you've read any of the previous books you'll already know that the Gamers series is full of geeky main characters who are more than a little kinky and that's no different here.

Chad is Marley's younger brother and he's always drifted through life moving from one job to another whenever the mood strikes him. He doesn't seem to take much seriously and he has a reputation as a bit of a player. Deep down he does have ambition though, he's just scared to take a chance in case he fails. I have to admit there were times when Chad irritated me, he can come across as a petulant child sometimes and that wasn't something I'd expected after him being such a fun character in the previous books. Owen totally stole the show here, he works alongside Marley at Gamers magazine and is a shy nerd who has a tendency to fade into the background in spite of his colourful bowties. Owen wants to be taken more seriously at work but he lacks confidence and struggles to step forward into the limelight. These two come close to hate at first sight but no matter how much they irritate each other there is no denying the attraction they feel.

Chad has a way of bringing out Owen's adventurous side, for once Owen finds himself saying and doing the things he's always wanted to but never quite been brave enough to. You know how they say it's always the quiet ones? Well that's definitely the case with Owen and he is the king of dirty talking. Chad doesn't do so badly on that front either so if you like the dirty talk there is a lot to love about this book. This couple have fantastic chemistry which they act on at any and every opportunity but we do see a sweeter side to their romance eventually, especially in the epilogue which I thought was adorable. We also get a nice opportunity to catch up with Marley and Austin (the main couple from book 1, Changing His Game), Austin has big plans and he's recruited Chad and Owen to help him which I thought was a nice little extra for fans of the previous books.

I'm hoping we're going to get more books in this series but I'm definitely a fan of Megan Erickson's writing and will be buying anything new she releases in the future.

Note (added 11/03/2018):

In light of recent events, I can no longer recommend this book to my friends (or any reader, for that matter).

However, my Goodreads review space provides me an opportunity to rate and review books, expressing how they made me think, feel, question, or react at a particular moment in time. Sometimes, I use my review space to share stories about my life or comment on the world around me, drawing comparisons between myself and the characters and plot lines that I read about. As such, they are a time capsule of sorts and the historian in me won't let me erase them from the historical record.

So I am going to leave my ratings/reviews intact, but reiterate that I can no longer recommend this book to my friends.

Tied to Trouble is book three in the Gamers series and I have to admit I have not read the first two books, however that did not take anything away from this story. I plan to go back and read the first two, though, because I loved it so much. Chad and Owen were fun, had great banter and this love story left me with a huge smile on my face. Enjoyable, hot and I definitely recommend to any m/m fans.
