Alphas give orders. Submissives take them… or they should.
I’ve always known where I fall in the pack hierarchy. Right at the bottom. Not that I was ever content to stay there.
But I’m more than a submissive. Galen Hunt was the only person to recognize that. He was also the man who ripped my world apart… and then put the pieces back together with an additional piece I’ve learned I can’t do without. His heart.
I was finally ready to embrace my new life as Luna, leading the Hunt pack alongside Galen. But then someone took him from me. They made him bleed. They could have done a lot more than that. Something permanent.
Now, they’re about to learn how a submissive kills.
What does a submissive shifter do when she’s expected to lead a pack on her own?
If she’s me: She gives orders, she protects, and she damn well gets vengeance on anyone who hurts her pack.
And if that person is the man she loves… she takes them apart.

difficult to rate- loved how Sierra was a true Luna - Galen was very controlling in this book
Sierra came into her own and the first half of this books shines.
The second half was slightly disappointing as Galen takes away Sierra’s opportunities to talk with a pack mate who made a mistake. Multiple times Sierra tries to talk and help her pack mate and multiple times Galen drags her away saying it’s not her place - Dom can take care of it.
What is he going to let her do as a Luna - sit there as a trophy wife.
He also made her less in my eyes by not letting her act like a Luna. The second half was all about Galen controlling his mate and cutting her off from things she wanted to do.
Now granted Galen just survived an ordeal, but I didn’t care for him at all in the second half of the book - way too dismissive and controlling of Sierra.
His attitude detracts from what would’ve been a good ending.
Galen was still a good love interest but his attitude at the end was very poor and since it’s the ending well let’s just say Galen was disappointing
Loved it … Yes , Sierra was weak, but oh, was she strong! Her weakness would become her strength when needed. However, strength alone wouldn’t go very far and Sierra knew that. But she had something else going for her. She was smart, and I might add manipulative when necessary.
And if you read any of the previous books, then you know she will do whatever it takes, no matter the danger, if someone she loves is harmed. Her old pack learned that lesson the hard way…. Well, they would have learned it if they were still breathing.
So, Sierra’s just arrived in her new pack and learns her mate, Alpha Galen, is missing. His abandoned truck has fresh blood inside and outside. She may be a submissive but that little wolf has a lot of experience.
It’s just too bad those enforcers underestimate her … just like she wanted. They kidnapped Galen. They beat him and tortured him. Sounds bad, doesn’t it? And it is… but not nearly as bad as Sierra’s payback plan. Enjoy.
🤔 OBSERVATIONS:
✒︎ I loved this story so why only four stars? To me there’s a difference between profanity and cussing. Whenever I come across profanity, I cringe. An old fashion cuss word would have worked just as well. Thus I deducted a point. However, this didn’t happen much. I saw it once.
✒︎ If you haven’t read the first two books in this series, you’re missing out on good and unique storylines that intertwine. And they are true werewolf books.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
My main problem with this series is how inconsistent the worldbuilding is.
Designations are super important. Everyone needs an alpha. Only alphas lead. No one wants stray alphas in their packs.
Except both Dayne and Galen have multiple alphas in their packs. It seems to not matter at all if someone is a female alphas. Except sometimes it does matter.
Both Pierce and Bowen seem to lead successfully, even though they’re weird and evil and neither are alphas.
Are you really lone wolves when you’re a pack of 20 enforcers with a leader for 10 years? That pack was bigger than either Dayne or Galen’s pack, but the Pierce pack was crying over some long dead alpha. Maybe they should have defended their alpha or taken over the pack?
Anyway… it annoyed me throughout this book how often the narrative about designations contradicted itself.
The keywords for this review copy did not indicate dom-sub behaviors or I would not have taken it. That is not my way of life and it is not acceptable. So it did put a pall over this story line for me. I didn’t like the way Galen did not let Sierra take an active part in guiding the pack and instead carefully tried to keep her under tight control. But she didn’t let it stop her and was ready to step in when she was needed. And she also demonstrated how she could perform every bit as well as the Alpha… and most times even better as she gives her all to protect her pack.
I have a few issues with this one but nothing major. My biggest issue is that this girl still doesn’t have any real self esteem and is constantly putting herself down. Her actions are fine but her thoughts are unbelievably negative.
Anyway, the other issue was that I still don’t understand what the deal with the enforcers was. Maybe I missed it but the only thing I got was that they were loyal to his father. But why? His father betrayed him so he left. Is that supposed to be the reason? I didn’t get it.
KU read, the trilogy is ok. I’ll check out Dom’s story next.
Sierra gets to Galen’s pack to find him missing. She needs to find a way to rescue him and lead the pack without being intimidated. I like this series. The leads have charisma and interact well. They spark off each other and have some very sexy scenes but, their scenes also have depth which keeps you interested in the story and root for them on the end. The secondary characters could easily be pulled into their own story as they’re not just there to fill the gaps. I can already see three potential storylines. This is a great series, with great characters- what’s not to like.
What a series, definitely kept you on your toes through out. Entertaining, swoon worthy, it’s a page turner. Everything you want when it comes to a shifter romance, loved how certain characters played out in this that makes me think they have or will get their own story. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and an adventure.
It was wonderful revisiting the characters who have become like family. The suspenseful nature of the story grew given the drama the characters encountered in the previous book. I loved how the characters relationship grew as a pack - believable, heartbreaking and heartwarming. A very enjoyable read.

This was another great addition to the series. The character work and story line were well written and kept me entertained. I look forward to my next adventure with this author.

From the beginning where the main character has to fight her instinct to the end where she seems to accept herself, I was intrigued. This had a great storyline and was exciting to read.
The action in this one never lets up. Drama resolves and more comes around, though in the end they get their HEA. Enjoyed this paranormal story with its unique take on wolf ways.
I am obsessed with Eve Bale's books. I highly recommend you to read this series. I don't know how I'm going to wait for the rest of the books in the series.
I have read the first 3,books in this series. They were good, however it didn’t follow the same wolf culture as other books I’ve read. Needed less cruelty.
Happy Ending for Galen & Sierra! I was really looking forward to this book and it did not disappoint! Finally joining Galen and his pack, Sierra is confronted with her mate being kidnapped. It was great to see her grow into her role as Alpha female and lead her new pack in his recovery. Galen and Sierra are such a wonderful couple and I’m sad to see the end of their story. However, I’m sure we’ll see glimpses of them in the future – hint, hint…waiting for Dom’s book! This has been one of my favorite shifter series!
