I started the first book in this series last year not realizing it was a duet or a debut author. I liked it enough that I have been keeping a lookout for the conclusion but I found this very unfinished. I get that the series is ongoing with Eli & Jeb appearing next but I just didn’t feel like I got the closure I wanted. The action took over the love story and there was a lot of telling but not showing especially when it came to the sex scenes. I didn’t feel their soulmate connection in this book like I did in the first one and I was quite bored reading it. I’m not sure why this even needed to be a duet and I’m super disappointed that this was the book I got after a year of waiting. As much as I liked Eli & Jeb, I don’t know that I’ll be continuing this story. We’ll see 🤷🏻♀️On a positive note, I did like the explanation of their names.
Because I think this author has potential and can only improve, I’m going to give some constructive criticism. I liked the other characters but I felt like they hijacked pages that should have been devoted to Cash & Johnny’s new relationship. I could feel the want and need for each other in the first book but not in this one. I needed more of them alone together because Patriots Now and The Reivers are such horrific people that I needed the sweet moments between the boys to outweigh it and I didn’t feel that it did compared to the first one. I didn’t expect for everything to go smoothly but I expected a bit more closure especially when it came to Digger. If I do continue on with this series and find out he’s reformed or joined forces with Patriots Now, my next review will be the rant I held myself back from doing on this one. This was the first book that showed them having anal sex and there were the obligatory one time in you, one time in me scene but I felt like they could of had more passion or been more descriptive because these are two people who have been best friends since birth and none of that showed on page. There were tons of missed opportunities like when we find out Cash is traveling a lot and Johnny tells us he’d been having hot phone sex with Cash, I’d have loved that to be on page. Same with Johnny saying he was whispering dirty phrases to Cash during sex, please show that stuff! It helps make them feel more than one dimensional characters and who doesn’t love some really hot smut. Lastly, I felt it hard to tell their POVs apart in this book which I wasn’t expecting since I had no problem with the first book.
Oh & one last thing. I HATED Johnny having to go undercover and date that chick. Having to read about him kissing her in front of Cash, no matter how much he didn’t want to, was just not what I want to read about in the second part of a duet with an established couple. Someone else could have done it and those pages could have been devoted to something way better.
Never before have I been so grateful to already have a sequel on my Kindle when I finished book one as I was for this book. This book takes place immediately after One Day, as in it rehashes the last chapter of One Day from Johnny's POV instead of Cash's and throws us head first back into the story. That said, you MUST have read One Day before jumping into Now as this is a duet that requires knowledge of the first part of the story to understand anything from the second part.
And Remi Varlow does not let you rest in this book. I devoured it in just a few hours, because I had to know what was happening next. The book was unpredictable at every turn - even when things happened almost the way you thought they would, there was a bit of a twist to keep you on your toes.
And the character? I fell in love with Johnny, Cash, Eli, and especially Daisy in book one. I fell more in love with them this book - and loved the addition of Jed. (I cannot wait for Jed and Eli's book tbh). All of the side characters were incredibly well done and dynamic. Daisy has again stolen my soul.
And the fact that there's a whole antecdote about why Johnny and Cash are named as they are? Perfection. The right splash of humor to a dark angsty read. Just like the love story between them is the perfect balance to the rest of it.
All in all, this series was amazing. It was a perfect duet, one that does require reading of the first book before going into the second. Heed the trigger warnings though, but definitely go in. This book is worth it.
** DISCLAIMER: I recieved an advanced copy from GRR and this is my honest review. **
When we left Johnny and Cash in Jagged Love, book one (we do get an explanation for their names in this book) they were on the brink of losing their second chance with each other. That last chapter was told from Cash’s POV. Now starts with a bit of overlap (so definitely not a standalone), but told from Johnny’s perspective. There are a bunch of twists and turns in their continued efforts to bring the Reivers and Patriots Now bad guys to justice. It turns out it's a messy, action-packed and tricky business, but with the support of the awesome Daisy & their friends they manage to stay one step ahead of their enemies.
There doesn't seem to be much respite for our MCs here…even when they get a bit of space to themselves there's pressure that threatens their equilibrium. As book two in a duet, though, Now does deliver their hard-earned HEA. Cash and Johnny are sweet in their own ways, but are still so entrenched in the MC way of life that there's often violence (not towards each other), etc., so I'd say to heed trigger warnings. Ultimately, an MC universe is going to be a dark and gritty place and the author has created exactly that here. One thing to call out which may be a trigger (or just a turn off) for some readers is one of the MCs has to go undercover in a fake relationship with a woman. It's in no way cheating, is important to the plot and doesn't take up much of the book, but I guess some just won't like it as a plot device. It works for me though.
Long story short, I really like Now - gritty, full of action and engaging characters. I'd definitely be happy to read more books set in this universe. 4*
An ARC was provided by GRR. This is my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was a good addition to the Jagged Love Series. You have to read book 1, One Day before this one since this is a continuation of Cash and Johnny’s story with an over arching plot that carries on throughout the series. This book starts from the last chapter of One Day but from Johnny’s POV instead of Cash’s. Things are slowly coming together during this book with Cash, Johnny, Daisy, Eli, Jeb and their allies working together to take down Cash’s father Digger and the Reivers MC once and for all. Cash and Johnny still have amazing chemistry.
I really hope that Daisy and Jonah will eventually get their happily ever after since they’ve been in love with each other for years and the truth is finally revealed since Jonah believes that Cash and Daisy’s marriage is real as they never clued him in on their goal of taking the Reivers MC down since he had a chance of getting out and living his dreams, which he definitely wouldn’t do if he knew the truth. With the Reivers MC gone, they now need to focus on taking down Laslo and Patriots Now. I’m looking forward to reading Eli & Jeb’s book, Legendary next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to others.
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Gay Romance Reviews.**
NOW is the second book in the Jagged Love series. I don't feel like this one can be read as a stand alone but I think you definitely need to read book one to get a full understanding of the storyline.
NOW starts where One Day left us but gives us that last chapter now from Johnny's POV throwing you right back into the action. Cash and Johnny and their friends are still trying to take down his father and anyone associated with him. I loved the action throughout this one. I was completely invested how how this way going to play out. I really wanted Johnny and Cash to have that HEA they worked so hard for.
Seeing the connection between Jeb and Eli and knowing that there book is next I think Varlow laid a good foundation for that storyline. I don't often read m/f anymore but I need to see Jonah and Daisy get their HEA that was stolen from them wrapped up in the lies everyone has been keeping.
Can't wait to see what's next for these characters!!
This is the second book in a series, so definitely start with the first one, if you haven’t already. Johnny and Cash’s story continues here, and there’s interesting progress both in terms of the relationship and the larger story arc. The world these characters inhabit is one of action, violence, and upheaval, and while that’s counterbalanced to some extent by the chemistry and feelings the guys share, it’s still very much the focus much of the time. I found these protagonists easy to invest in, and while the balance between each of the narrative elements– what readers get to see, what’s developed fully, and what gets mentioned in passing– wasn’t always exactly what I wanted, overall I enjoyed the book.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Now by Remi Varlow is a sequel to A Jagged Love 1, Now, is book two in A Jagged Love and is not standalone. I love the direction of this story, it has more intensity, and the story moving along was really well done. This story is told in dual POV, I love that.
Cash: is passionate. Loyal, and very deeply in love with Johnny. He does think he has to protect everyone all the time. He grows a lot in this story I loved that.
Johnny: tough cage fighter. He is tough, loving, and willing to fight for what he wants.
These two are really meant for each other, and I love the pace of this story. It really is action-packed with love and sex sprinkled in. Loved this story and cannot wait for more of these two amazing men in the future.
Oh Lordy Mercy! You most certainly have to read One Day before you read Now, if you read One Day a while ago then a reread is great because Now picks up where One Day left off. Believe me when I tell you that this has been a power house of intrigue from page One! I am so freakin glad that Remi is continuing this amazing series that kept me up two nights in a row because I kept saying "just one more chapter"! This is one of the best motorcycle club series that I have ever read! Cash and Johnny are so in your face and their friends are the best! By the way you better be good around Daisy!
I read the first book and loved it and have been waiting patiently for this follow up. I loved this book as much as the first one. You definitely gotta read the first book because this book takes place right after it. We get to know Johnny and Cash better in this book. We even get the story of how their names came about! I thought they made a good couple and had some powerful chemistry together. The overall arc to the story isn't completely resolved, but a lot of it is. I can't wait to read the next book!
Now is the second book in the Jagged Love series. It takes place immediately following One Day. It actually starts by rehashing the last chapter in the first book. It’s imperative that that one be read first. I was hooked as soon as I picked it up, couldn’t stop reading it. I had to know what was going on! There are twists and turns, it feels raw and gritty. Johnny and Cash have insane chemistry. Overall, a phenomenal read, if I could give this more than five stars, I would. Well written with pacing that hooked me.
I freaking loved the conclusion to Johnny and Cash's story!!! It was gritty, violent, sexy and so full of the feels!!! These two deserved their HEA, it was such hard fought road to forever! The revenge plot was delicious and their rag tag gang of misfits to help pull this off was.... a chefs kiss 😘 I adored each and every one of them and I am so excited to see whats next...Jeb and Eli are going to be fire 🔥 I most definitely recommend this one, it was insanely good!!
* I received an ARC from GRR, this is my open and honest review *
I really looked forward to continuing Johnny and Cash’s story ♥️ Definitely wasn’t disappointed when I finished ♥️
It’s thrilling and exciting, great writing and plot! Some pining and angst 😍 And some aholes that I really think got what they deserved in the end!!
Loved the side characters as well. And the sex scenes was 🔥🔥🔥 If you didn’t know it, I’m a fan of dirty talk 🫦 They tease each so much, I kinda feel like I was being edged 😇
Can’t wait to read the next story ♥️ I fell in love with some characters that I really can’t wait to read more about ♥️
Johnny and cash are back in this second book, you do need to read the 1st book to understand this one. These two have real chemistry and can weather the storm that keeps coming. This is a violent book and quite hard to stomach at times, the spice could of been better but I’m glad I didn’t have to wait to read this second book and that they got their HEA.
Following where 'One day' ended, you'll love this installment just as much as the first. Picking up where the last chapter left off and from a different POV. Although they are standalones; you'll benefit to read the first book before indulging in this one. Cash and Johnny's relationship continues to develop and leaves a lasting memory - from start to finish.
**I received this ARC via Gay Romance Reviews for my honest feedback.**
I have been eagerly awaiting this 2nd book of Cash and Jonny and was desperate for them to find their HEA. The book is fast paced, full of twists, grit, anger and passion. It’s not light and fluffy but it is so much more. I’m glad things came to an end but to be honest I wanted more! What about Daisy? What about Patriots Now? I’m hopping that the next books will give us a bit more of all of it and some answers!
MM, Friends to Lovers, Second Chance, MC, Contemporary, Romance. The second book in the series and needs to be read in series order due to story continuing on throughout the series. Fast paced plot, full of action and drama throughout. Great characters who have both grown up in brutal circumstances and share the need to end the MC their Fathers started. Guaranteed HEA.
This is the continuation of the story of Cash and Johnny, it is the 2nd book in the Jagged Love series. Please read the trigger warnings. It would be best to read them in order. I love these books. The characters are honest and raw, I love their growth. The action and drama makes for a fast paced read. Definitely recommended.
I received this book as an Arc and I am happily reviewing it voluntarily.
Now is the second book in the Jagged Love series by Remi Varlow and follows One Day. It continues Cash and Johnny’s story and the books are best read in order. This review may reveal plot points for the series.
Cash and Johnny are back. Love seeing how fiercely committed and connected they are becoming. Especially Cash he is all alpha and determined to break free! You do have to read book one to see how Johnny and Cash got together so I will not give away a lot of the arching plot. I will tell you there is lots of steamy heat and a lot of violent action so be ready!
Some books say that their characters had to fight to be together, but they don't mean that literally. Johnny and Cash and their friends have to do that literally as they fight to save themselves and take down everyone standing in their way and it is one heck of a read. Read book one first, and don't start either one of them in the evening unless you want to be up all night finishing them.
Johnny and Cash deserved a happy ending after the lives they have lived and this second book totally blew me away. The story was truly amazing not just their love story but the rest of it was intense and complicated and still not over. I love their happy ending and I’m so glad this series will be going on with a new couple and the same story cause it’s far from done! I can’t wait!
Whew! This book was action-packed from beginning to end! I kept waiting for Johnny and Cash to get caught, and it was as scary as I was worried about. But their HEA made it all worth it! I was hooked on their story from reading One Day, and the resolution to their story was so satisfying. Recommended!
ONE DAY and NOW are both so intense. It was a bit disturbing in places but I liked how the characters found each other after and despite of all the drama. Tough on the stomach at times but definitely worth the read. Four stars.
This was a fairly satisfying ending to Cash and Johnny's story. There are some details that bothered me, but I won't mention them specifically for spoiler reasons. My hope is that they get ironed out in future books (there's a mention of Eli and Jeb getting at least one book in the future).
He always said one day they would be together but some day never seemed to come. Until finally he decides it must be now for them to be together for as long as they live. Can they be together? How will it all go? Follow these two men as love finally becomes now not one day
Oh my my my this was so good! I absolutely loved the beginning of their story but the ending was marvelous! I loved the family they and their friends created together! I can’t wait for Jeb & Eli but I really hope Jonah & daisy get their happy ending too! 😀❤️😀❤️
Johnny and Cash get their second chance, but it doesn’t come easy. They have decided to stay together but so much happens. It’s action packed and full of twists. Their romance grows stronger and they finally get their hea. Great read.
This was a great continuation of the first book with lots of jeopardy and sweet moments along the way. The connection Cash and Johnny have is lovely and strong enough to weather all that life and the MC throw at them. The action and romance was at full throttle throughout and I loved every second of it.
