ROSELL KISCHA

After his uneventful life gets cut short, a salaryman is reborn in another world as the child aristocrat Ars Louvent. Using his unique “appraisal” skill, Ars discovers and recruits a fledgling swordsman named Rietz and a girl named Charlotte with a gift for magic. Picking up Pace

I'm a big fan of the anime that's currently airing. If you're familiar with the anime, this covers episode 3 if i remember correctly. We now have three vasels conquered. It is kind of fun that instead of using a harem approach to collecting characters the series collects characters as vassals or other types of servants/soldiers. He still get the delight of a recruiting new characters but without the icky factor that harems can invoke.

It occurred to me, in my last review I didn't explain why I dropped a star. In volume one I dropped a star because it's fairly short and the art style is nothing to write home about. In this volume I dropped a star because it's still feels pretty short and doesn't really go in depths to the plot so much. If I didn't know that it was going to be getting some momentum I'm not sure under normal circumstances even the cliffhanger at the end would have been enough to make me go for the third book. Most of my investment in the series so far has been wanting to catch up to the anime and get to the new content. I think the characters are charming and the story is getting really interesting in the anime so I know I have lots to look forward to in the manga. It just has a very slow start, hence why I feel it's only worth four stars at the period.

I really enjoyed this 2nd volume, Ars is 6 now and has gained alot of new soldiers and people to work for them Charlotte has become more powerful and Rietz is just as devoted to being Ars's tutor as before. We also get to meet new characters and get to see how Ars convinces them to join his troops.
It was pretty fun, I giggled put loud some times.
There were parts that were a little repetitive. This is the second time that we have a character that doesn't want to join but later does anyway. I wish they did something different, but maybe we will get that in another volume. Definitely recommend this.

Still very questionable worldbuilding, and Ars is not subtle at all about appraising people. I don’t understand the idea of hearing about promising young hunters and recruiting them - surely if they were as excited to be soldiers as they seemed, wouldn’t they go try out? Why wait until the lord comes to invite you? I also feel sorry for his dad suddenly being alone.

I find the artwork to be so-so, with some parts being sloppy.
