The True Meaning of Christ's Teaching

Rate this book
I know that it is not easy to conceive of God as inseparable from ourselves. But I can give you some exercises which will help. Disciples of an initiatic teaching know that within them dwells a cosmic Being of which they are only dimly aware and that they have to uproot their consciousness from the narrow confines of their own lower nature, so that it can melt into that boundless consciousness within them. This Being, this spark of divinity lives in them, and it is their task to seek until they find it.

This is a simple yet esoteric way of understanding the meaning of Christ's teachings. Omraam delves deep into the expressions of Jesus such as "turn the other cheek." But does that mean we roll over to our enemies and become doormats? No! Omraam uses the sun as a symbol of how we all must be-vigilant, fiery but sure and steady. God does not want us to roll over; rather to use the power of light to dispel darkness; for one does not fight an enemy on its own level. One must rise higher. He delves into the deeper meanings behind such famous quotes such as, "Father forgive them" and "Watch and Pray." When one begins to understand the depth of Initiatic Science, one understands fully the deeper meanings of Christ's teachings, and the reminder that he too experienced anger over hypocrisy, greed, phoniness and the all too familiar aspects of the brutishness and ignorance of humanity, that still apply today!
