If you are ill it means that you have harboured some form of disorder within. You have nourished certain thoughts or feelings, certain attitudes which have ended by affecting your health. The best defence against illness is harmony: night and day you should be mindful to synchronize yourselves, to be in tune, in harmony with life, with all life, with limitless, cosmic life. Only this is true harmony. It is not enough to be in tune with a limited circle of human beings: one's husband or wife, one's children, parents, neighbours and friends. You must be in tune with universal life.
Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov was a Macedonian philosopher, pedagogue, alchemist, mystic, magus and astrologer. He was a disciple of Peter Deunov (Beinsa Douno), the founder of the Universal White Brotherhood.
Such a profound book and so odd to read! First I want to thank the author for sharing his knowledge in an accessible way. This is also the first book that discusses lessons in Vedic literature alongside Christian teachings. I also enjoyed the extra tid-bits of knowledge such as his short mention of the Jewish Kabbalah. These all added beautiful layers of comparison and gives readers a deeper understanding of how these teachings are found throughout history and not only from Asia, specifically South Asia. Quite a lot of spiritual books are overly eloquent and book did not do that. It made difficult conversations easy to contemplate. I gave this a 4 because I will be utilising the knowledge he has given to me everyday. I contemplate his words often, I even use the prayers and Pranayama provided. This book not only gave me knowledge of spirit, and Allah, but it also, very personally, helped me adjust my own internal processing paradigms. Some topics were aggressively put, I would describe some of the sentences as gaslighting and dismissive, yet Aivanhov simultaneously discusses the importance of living in love. To do everything with love. Thus when I would read, the author created a space where I knew these words were written with love for everything and everyone, while he was telling me that my reasons for depression were "inferior" or that my life would be pointless unles I submit to the will of God now! This did not affect the stars I gave becasue I think this awkward combination of rejection of emotion yet an acceptance of it, this linguistic paradox was because I read the translation, and I'm aware that the English language is not nearly enough equipped to discuss such profound subjects.
I am so grateful this book found me in the charity shop. I remember longing to find places to learn with other people while buying, and reading this book and I had such an enlightening moment when I found a sheet of paper directing me to www.brahmakumaris.uk I cannot yet give this book to another, so for now I will share this site here for anyone drawn to read my review.
