Alice Oseman

This was such a cute, quick, & visually fun read. This Heartstopper Yearbook gives us a behind-the-scenes look into Heartstopper's creation and Alice Oseman's journey as an artist and writer. I adoreeee Heartstopper so this was so cute to read!! It also has some cool bonus content like drawings of Heartstopper characters dressed up for Halloween, mini stories involving different charcters, a guide on drawing the Heartstopper characters, & more. Would definitely recommend if you're a fan of the Heartstopper series.

Just really fun bonus material of my favourite graphic novel series! Loved seeing original drawings of Nick and Charlie and seeing the progression of Alice’s art style! Just very fun and would recommend for any big Heartstopper fans!

Yea, no. I’d only recommend reading this if you’re an ultra mega-fan of Heartstopper, because otherwise this will simply be boring and useless to you, as it was to me.

El Heartstopper Yearbook es un libro lindo, sí, pero bastante prescindible en realidad, así que no es nada necesario que lo leas si solamente te interesa la historia principal de Nick y Charlie.
Lo que se encuentra aquí son datos adicionales sobre los personajes, un poco de la historia de cómo Alice Oseman empezó a escribir toda esta trama, cómo eran los primeros conceptos de dibujos e ilustraciones de los personajes, etc. Y sí que hay como una pequeña micro historia adicional sobre los profesores y un par de cositas más, pero de verdad no me parece que tenga nada que justifique, en mi opinión, comprar el libro.
Toda la info que tienes en este Yearbook la tienes también leyendo los cuatro tomos que ya están publicados. De todas maneras, es súper tierno ver otra vez a Nick y a Charlie, sobre todo en las ilustraciones temáticas de Navidad y Halloween que incluye Alice Oseman aquí.

The Heartstopper Yearbook is perfect for all Heartstopper fans. It’s super cute and wholesome just like the main series. It also provides tons of insight into both the characters from the graphic novels and Alice’s process of creating Heartstopper.
My favorite sections are the The Teachers, Halloween, Alternature Universes, and the “Are You More Nick… Or More Charlie?” quiz. My quiz result was Charlie, which probably came as no surprise to anyone who knows me really well.

This is quite fun, a nice book to read through while waiting for the final volume of "Heartstopper". My favourite parts were the section detailing the evolution of the art of "Heartstopper", and the mini-comics, especially "The Teachers" as they are probably my favourite secondary characters. I don't know if Alice Oseman wants to write anything else in this "Heartstopper Universe", but I would love a full length book following the teachers, perhaps aimed a bit beyond the YA demographic.
There was a brief mention of the writing of the scripts for the show, and I felt this was a bit of missed opportunity - - a section covering this process, perhaps with examples of the scripts, and how the difference in pacing was incorporated, without losing all the key moments from the books could have been interesting.
This rest of this was good, but less my cup of tea. I didn't really need the character profiles because I knew it all from reading the books, same with the family trees. The how to draw section will be useful if that is something you want to try, but I have no drawing talent whatsoever, so I skimmed through this!

This was cute, but it didn’t give me any additional insight into the characters or storylines. Felt universal to the Osemanverse. So far, am really only loving the graphic novels.

Congratulations to Alice Oseman for her Goodreads 2022 Comics win for volume 4! While we wait in this house for the final volume, we found this on Hoopla, though I bet the actual physical copy would be beautiful. So it's a kind of Heartbreakers/Osemanverse family album, probably leaning to younger readers, with social media pages for each central character, and a kind of journal about the evolution of the renderings of the characters, from 2013 to the present. For fans only, and completionists. Some mini-comics. Fun, and fast. See Rod Brown's review for a full list of contents.
PS In this new resurgence of censorship and book-burning in this country, I stand against the homophobic one-starring of her work on Goodreads and other book-reading sites in this anti-gay (and racist, and so on) ideological war. Heartbreakers positivity and adorableness prevails with the award and the popularity all well-deserved. Love is love.

all the homophobes are leaving 1 star reviews on this and it isn’t even out yet, so here’s my big FIVE STARS because i love alice and i love these characters and the lgbtqia+ community does not deserve hate simply for existing.
edit: i have now read this book and it is in fact brilliant !!!
seeing alice’s art develop through the years was so cool and i found out from a quiz in this book that i’m more like charlie than nick so that’s also cool !

Wiecie, za co kocham literaturę? Za to, że jest absolutnie nieprzewidywalna. Nieważne, ile razy chciałbym przewidzieć fabułę, wątki, reprezentację, to i tak trudno być w 100% zgodnym z ostateczną wersją.
Dlaczego to piszę? Już wyjaśniam. Niedawno swoją światową premierę miał kolejny tytuł Alice Oseman, osoby autorskiej znanej z serii Heartstopper, czyli „Heartstopper. Yearbook”. Od początku czułem, że będziemy mieli tutaj motyw podsumowania, w końcu poznajemy początki osoby pisarskiej m.in. pierwsze szkice Nicka i Charliego, alternatywne wersje bohaterów, ciekawostki o komiksowym uniwersum. To wszystko jest tylko wierzchołkiem góry lodowej, obfitującym w ilustracje i grafiki, będących idealnym uzupełnieniem kolekcji każdego miłośnika Alice Oseman.
Nie spodziewałem się jednego - nagłego przypływu wdzięczności. Nie tylko za ostatni rok, ale za wszystko, co przydarzyło się w moim krótkim życiu. Czytając „Heartstopper. Yearbook”, wzruszyłem się na myśl o mojej rodzinie, przeszłych i teraźniejszych znajomościach, czy podróżach, które do tej pory odbyłem. Nie zabrakło oczywiście wspomnień związanych z Wami, w tym z moimi książkowymi początkami. To było bardzo oczyszczające uczucie.

Zuckersüßer Zusatzband zur Heartstopper Reihe, die ich so sehr liebe. Ich bewundere Alice Oseman sehr, was sie da erschaffen hat und illustriert und sich ausdenkt ist wirklich einfach einzigartig. Ich liebe ihren Zeichenstil, und fand es wundervoll wieder ein wenig in die ganze Heartstopper Welt einzutauchen, mehr über die Charaktere und die Hintergründe der Reihe zu erfahren und einfach ein wenig die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Wundervolles Extra für alle die, wie ich, die Reihe eh schon lieben und mehr erfahren wollen! (Und es macht sich wunderschön im Regal!)

this was a really cute addition to the heartstopper universe! the art style was beautiful as always and i liked learning all of the little fun facts about alice oseman's journey over the years of creating and publishing the heartstopper graphic novels. it was really cool to see the characters in all of the holiday-themed and alternate-universe art, i especially loved the "regency era" style art of nick and charlie at the end!
