After two centuries, the fearsome Dowd—a race of faceless monsters once thought banished beyond the Veil—have returned. And no one in the Tartarus Cluster is aware of the coming onslaught.
No one…except for Major Kal Zeris and the women fighting at his side.
Yet even as Kal and the girls race to warn the galaxy about the Dowd invasion, he knows how difficult it will be to convince the Pact and the Yarasi to set aside centuries of mistrust to stand against a common foe.
But if he can somehow identify and neutralize the Dowd’s allies—and unravel the vast conspiracy corrupting the Dominion—then maybe, just maybe, he can convince the great powers of the Cluster to stand together before they die alone.
Invasion is the third installment in The Lost Fleet series, an action-packed male power fantasy harem in the spirit of Battlestar Galactica, Mass Effect, and Star Trek (the good version).
Sarah Hawke is a prolific writer of science fiction and fantasy in multiple genres, including erotica, harem, and bondage. Her books are known for their intricate world-building, twisting plots, and fleshed-out characters—and of course their many intense, steamy sex scenes.
If you are interested in "pure" traditional harem stories, The Lost Fleet is the perfect place to start! Wings of the Seraph is a shorter, older series but also hits most of the traditional harem notes. Shadow of the Seraph features a rotating male and female pov with some F-F scenes involving temporary futanari, so avoid that unless it is your jam!
Her fantasy universe features many types of erotica stories involving bondage (Elf Slave, all the Spider Queen books) and non-traditional harems (The Amazon's Pledge, The Amazon's Vengeance). She also has two ongoing fantasy erotica series with intense action and multiple points of view, War of the White Throne and The Blade of Highwind.
Another excellent installment of Sarah Hawk's excellent science fiction series that combes great world-building and fun characters with loads of smut. Our hero is basically Commander Shepard with Vanguard Biotics and smashes the evil space racists with his group of bisexual space honies. The big difference between this and harem fiction being that all of the women are well-developed characters with their own agency. They just are distinctly focused on this dude and each other. Can our heroes unravel the mystery of the Dowd and the Column?
The relationships between characters continue to develop and mature. The politics of the larger universe continue to develop along a logical course. The secrets hinted at in prior books start to be revealed in satisfying ways. The story follows a course that suggests planning rather than a scramble to retcon the latest twist in the plot. Masterfully done.
The Lost Fleet: Invasion By Sarah Hawke, is a erotic harem sci-fi adventure novel set within her original Seraph sci-fi universe, and the third novel in her “The Lost Fleet trilogy.”
The story continues to focus on, Major Kal Zeris and his female companions the bounty huntress Ash, fleet officer Miranda, and the alien warrior Velarys. After exposing the Dowd conspiracy and it’s human conspirators to entire Tartarus cluster. Major Zeris and his companions now face the challenge of convincing the leaders of the Dominion, Pact Alliance, and Yarasi Empire to unite against a common alien foe that threatens the Tartarus cluster with all out invasion.
This Lost Fleet series continues to be fantastic! It continues the excellent plot and world building from the first two books while also adding new characters and factions. “Invasion” continues to paint a unique sci-fi universe you won't find anywhere else. Once you enter it, you won't want to leave, and the story will keep you enraptured from the first page to the last. This galaxy continues to feel every bit as deep, vivid, and relevant as anyone could want, and the author Sarah Hawke nails the difficult task of describing it without bogging down the story despite being a erotic harem novel.
Like the previous two books Invasion continues to be a smooth read, the characters continue to be compelling, and the sci-fi world has enough detail to draw you in without bogging you down. And the story is epic. What amazed me most is that it didn't need to rely on the sex to hold my interest, though the sex continues to certainly be a bonus! The love scenes are sizzling without feeling gratuitous, and they absolutely furthered the story, but it's the compelling characters and their struggles that will grab you from the first page. These books have it all. Fierce protagonists, impossible choices, battles against terrifying alien enemies, you name it! You will care about these characters.
Sarah Kawke continues to write a tense, steamy, action-packed sci-fi universe told in a voice that flows smoothly from the first page to the last. Despite some what cliffhanger ending, it feels action packed. It keeps its covenant with the reader by continuing a concluding arc, and it definitely leaves you wanting a sequel soon.
All in all, Invasion was fantastic. It's everything I hoped it would be and more! As usual, Sarah managed to surprise me at the end while leaving me ravenous for more of her Lost Fleet Series and her Seraph universe.
At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.
Genre: Scifi spacefleet harem Power dynamics in harem: Girls are attracted to or love MC. MC is assertive. First in-harem threesome. Explicit/adult material: Explicit and very well done.
Summary: The world is divided, the council is blaming each other, but the war is coming. Will Kal and his girls be able to make the races set their differences aside and prepare for Invasion.
Narration Voice diversity: Female voices are great, male voices a little similar. Pacing and intonation: The story is expertly told. Great sense of urgency. Sex scenes: Well done. Overall Narration: 4/5 stars.
The book’s strengths. - The growth of the relationships and the characters continue being interesting and feeling authentic - Space fleet politics and possible war between interesting species. The world building is engaging and interesting. - The girls are very different both in personality and physicality, they have their own goals and flaws and feel like real people - The sence of urgency as the universe is heading into a galaxy sized war - The narration
The book’s weaknesses. - I can't think of anything I would like different.
I do so enjoy when some things keep me on my toes. One of the twists was actually a touch predictable I had guessed it, but the other actually caught me by surprise.
If you enjoyed the first few in the series this one has the same feel. Smut is still same level. There is love and loss.
Some editing issues, but overall still enjoyable. I'll look forward to the next installment
Sarah Hawke wrote another excellent story about our hero Kal and his female friends, Ash and Miranda. The story builds up to a fast moving and surprising ending. The action doesn’t end and there is a lot of twists and turns to keep you interested. I look forward to the next entry in this series.
This third entry into this series was a good one. The plot, while at times felt slow or at other times feeling rushed; was enjoyable and entertaining. The MC and his group of girls are still memorable. Either way, this was a good book.
The author does a wonderful job of developing the plot while paying attention to the individual characters. The characters are full of life and have the bold personalities necessary to carry the series. Looking forward to starting Book 4, but I will miss my time with the characters she I finish.
Fellow readers you are missing out if you don't red this series!!!!
An absolutely fabulous science fiction story and series with well written adult fantasy activities as well!!! I can't wait to see wht she comes up with next in this series and her ot
The series has started off great and just keeps getting better. It keeps me on the edge of my seat. And there's plenty of good nookie for anyone that likes a lot of nookie.
Sarah Hawke has an overwhelming ability to create an emotional investment that can only be satisfied by another book in the series. I look forward to the next installment.
Good plot, carried over good from one book to the next.characters were good order, don’t quite know why the complex sex scenes as the book Carrie’s itself without them but understand that’s what some readers want
The storyline is excellent and the characters well defined. The battle action was described superbly with tactics so intelligent that the author could have been a general. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and the eroticism was an added bonus.
As Kal and his harem close in on the traitors, they find out that ash's brother is still alive and working for the has guys. Ash's psychometry leads them back to their homeworld, then to a remote planet inside the straw. There, they find a wormhole generator. Where does it lead?
Can’t wait to see what happens next, this book was really hard to put down, great action with fun characters in an interesting world, highly recommended
