After a miraculous recovery from a deep and dark coma, Beth Barrows struggles with a strange case of amnesia, one that befuddles her doctors. In her quest to find out who she is, she retraces the steps of her life, uncertain why she cannot place events into their correct timetable. Though not strictly a sequel to The Final Canoe Ride, its characters are reunited under unusual circumstances. "Split Soul" gives insight into two women's journeys, both traveling on similar paths, searching to find peace within the soul. Meg's story continues, with a twist of two in the tale!
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Inger has lived in the US for most of her life. She grew up in a small town in Northern New Jersey, where the passion for reading led to a lifetime of writing. Inger has always thought of herself as a storyteller, rather than an author. To her, the story itself is the most important part of a book, and she avoids penning excessive pages filled with unnecessary detail. With short, easy to read chapters, and concise descriptive passages, she hopes to rapidly draw readers into the worlds that she has created.
Inger holds a Masters Degree in Arts and Education. She has written ten books, in nine volumes, for The Circles of the Soul series. In addition, she collaborated with Cathlyn A. Driscoll to create two children’s books (available only in print), both derived from the storylines set in two of the books in the series. Sitting outside of the series is the romantic ghost story, Always Just Beyond. This book-within-a book presents a whole new cast of characters, with a storyline connected to the 1850s house that she and her husband recently renovated in New England. Inger is a mother and a grandmother, and is currently involved in the creation and development of screenplays with JNAK Productions.
Inger's Y/A novel, Elke's Magic, is now a screenplay, beautifully written by Daina Ann Smith. It is currently in pre-production.
This was like a very long epilogue to "The Final Canoe Ride." An amazing tale of love and fate and who we are in this life. Or are we? Reincarnation is a fascinating topic. As someone with some past life memories I fully believe it is true. This incredible tale explores some of the implications in a beautiful and credible way. Couldn't put it down. This entire series is so good!
Reincarnation is a risky/controversial topic to explore, but I was hooked by the “split soul” concept. A quick read, this book had a satisfying ending and left me eager to read the third book in the series (Circles).
Travel into another world. A mystical journey of discovering one's self and one's soul. This is another book I couldn't put down! Great vacation book read!!
