Dylan Sleeping with a paparazzo is probably the dumbest idea I've ever had. I'm a movie star, for goodness sakes! But I can't shake the feeling that Erik is someone I can trust. Am I losing it? Is he so hot that I've lost my ability to think? Maybe. He has this bad-boy with a heart-of-gold thing going on that I find impossible to resist. Oh wow, I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I don't want to stop!
Erik I've watched Dylan MacNeil for years behind my telephoto lens. This guy never makes a wrong move. He's so handsome and wholesome all I can think about is corrupting him. Now I have my chance. But as much as I want to see Dylan's naughty side, I'm worried he's doing this for the wrong reasons. Is he self destructing or does he like me? I don't know. Maybe I need to probe deeper for the truth!
This was a pretty cute short story. Dylan is a rising superstar actor. He’s America’s Boyfriend. Because of his rising career and public profile, he can’t risk doing what he really wants. Then he bumps into Erik, a struggling paparazzi photographer trying to catch Dylan being not as wholesome as he seems.
From their meeting they quickly jump into a steamy encounter. While Dylan has internal monologues on the risk of being with Erik, and Erik thinking Dylan couldn’t truly be into him, they both find comfort in one another.
I’d recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a short very low angst story with a but of steam.

Erik is a dancer, but needs to supplement his income selling photos of stars having naughty encounters so the tabloids can keep their readership up and he can earn money to eventually buy a house. So hiding in the bushes in front of a mansion waiting to take a photo of famous actor Dylan MacNeil, a rising star known for being a total straight arrow, will probably remain boring. The guy is so “wholesome” and he never does anything scandalous. But Erik loves watching him. He looks around for something else to photograph.
Then suddenly, Dylan almost lands on top of him as he jumps into the bushes to avoid two “important people” he can’t risk offending but they won’t keep their hands off him either! So avoiding the awkward discomfort is best, accompanied by hiding in the bushes just to be sure. Erik and Dylan are pressed shoulder to shoulder as they introduce themselves and creatively lie about their jobs, each knowing the other is obviously not a caterer-on-break or a valet as claimed. Dylan quotes a Romeo & Juliet scene, and they flirt about which character each will be. To Erik’s delight, when he asks Dylan if there is a kissing scene, Dylan replied that there is and offers to give it a try! Erik slowly turns to Dylan with a grin and says, “The only question is, will one of us end up impaled on a sword?”
The two of them, despite just meeting and in a surprising way, have an instant connection. I love the dialog between them, light, casual, flirty. Grab your copy and find out whether what happens in the bushes stays in the bushes… oh, this is Hollywood, not Vegas. Just enjoy this story and see where events lead.
Dylan is an actor whose star might be on the rise and Erik is a dancer still waiting for his lucky break working as paparazzo order to earn a living (he might not be too successful at it).
The two meet by chance outside a party, when Dylan jumps into the surrounding bushes trying to hide from certain people only to discover Erik already hiding in them. Their first encounter ends with Erik coming over to Dylan's for an one night stand, their second encounter ends (I am deducing) with Erik moving in with Dylan.
Despite both Dylan and Erik being two desperately horny/lonely guys in their twenties the progression of their relationship from their first encounter to happily ever after felt both too unrealistic and too rushed. If this happened in reality I would have been concerned for both of them being exploited by the other, considering one was a relatively well off movie star and the other was completely broke dancer and this was all happening in Hollywood.
Initially I found the summary quite intriguing but my expectations were quite different as I was imagining slightly older protagonists whose relationships develops over time instead of instalust after the first encounter. There were couple of lines of dialogue which I did find amusing but there were also couple of times where it wasn't entirely clear to me which lines belong to which character. In the end I kept getting too thrown by the lack of any realism to be able to enjoy this short story.
Wow, for such a short book, it sure had a kick to it. I was hooked from the first sentence. The whole story was so interesting and attention-catching that I read the whole thing in one sitting.
Erik is a dancer, but that art does not pay the bills, so he finds himself crouched in the bushes of a swanky Hollywood mansion waiting to take "money shot" of celebrities doing bad things. It is hard to focus when he has famous actor Dylan in his sights. As he is ruminating on how "clean" and not-scandalous he is, Erik finds himself being almost jumped on by Dylan, who is trying to hide from two grabby-handed people. The two feel an instant connection and one things leads to another until they kiss, briefly but exploding passionately.
What ensues is an insta-lust turned insta-love that is well worth the read. Since this is a new author for me, I am excited to read all of their books already published and I will anxiously await any more in the future.
With a short story I am always a bit on the fence how the story develops. However Cyd nailed it with this one. Erik and Dylan meet in the most unusual way have an insta lust, but that turns into love. I was very pleasantly surprised how well the story was constructed and it felt really balanced to me. If you enjoy sweet reads with to men who have completely different lives but have a gentle soul this one is for you. The story is mid/lower heat to me and it told from their POV.

When you know something is Real and Right from the beginning
Cyd Sidney built believable characters and a tantalizing story in only a few opening words. He made forces of opposing needs disappear and made a love story that was fantastic.
This is a story told in a budget of words, but which resonates, and resolves wonderfully!
I'll be seeking out more of Cyd's work. Hold it, I've now purchased more of Cyd's work.
I really enjoyed this book. The premise was unique- a celebrity and a paparazzo?- and I had to pick it up. It was a fun read. Good world building and characters. Dylan and Erik just clicked right from the start. This was the first book I've read y this author and I would read more. 4 stars.
