For camping enthusiasts, this fascinating (and packable) volume holds a comprehensive look at the origins of the practice and the ways that bring all these enthusiasts together.

Kind of a strange book, and a very egg-head item to find at my public library. Pretentious at times, but never really stoops to sneer at camping. Accomplishes its goal of making camping seem less “natural” and more strange:

to be sure, you will come across the phrase “to be sure” at least once per chapter.
