A Display Of Power

"...I prefer the darkness."
- Bruce Wayne

As Bruce proves himself he becomes the "Demon's heart" and sets in motion a plan at the end of which stand fire, destruction and revival...
What you can expect from this:
- Bruce utilizing his new powers
- Bruce and Ra's going toe-to-toe
- seeing a reinvented scene of two buddies in constant competition
- having an emotional reunion
- looking at one of the coolest panels ever
Final Thoughts:
This series has been a constant up and down but it has proven himself to not only retell but also reinvent Batman's origins in some cases. The art has nearly constantly been top tier and Zdarsky has proven once more to be a genuis in telling intriguing stories. "The Knight" has set the foundation of a modernized Batman myth and left us at a point where the Dark Knight is shaped but not yet born.

"This life I'm writing... it has anger, it has love."

Chip Zdarsky's mini-series has come to a close, and it's been a fantastic run. This issue continues on the reinventing of Bruce Wayne's journey into Batman, with his paths crossing with Ra's Al Ghul as his teachings unite to show in action the man who would become Gotham's protector. I've really liked what's been done, especially the history with Ghostmaker, and the artwork has been phenomenal right down to that killer last page.

He's just my scrunkly little guy, you know?

Seriously, this had it all. The pinnacle of his training being Ra's Al Ghul, the way the final twist happened, the return of a character much beloved to Bruce at just the right critical moment? Chef's kiss.

And that final panel with the bats? Augh we looooooove.

Also the hug with Alfred was NEEDED! My dude's been through so much in this run he deserves a hug from his dear old dad.

Whoof binging most of this in one go was definitely a trip, but a good one!
