BREE I've always known that I'm pure chaos. Messy, impulsive and reckless girl that doesn't have it together. And I had no intentions of changing that... until I met Stanley McKinley. From the moment that I met him, I knew that I was going to hate his guts, that he was everything that I'm not, everything I despise. One mistake. That's all it took for our paths to collide and merge into one, and I can't find a way to get rid of the magnetic pull he has over me. I want to push him away, to do everything in my power to keep him as a friend—at most. But friends aren't supposed to flirt and look at each other the way we do. I shouldn't want him... but I do. And there's nothing I can do to change before I mess him up too.
STANLEY She thinks that I'm a golden boy, that I'm the perfect guy. Rich and spoiled asshole that can have everything he wants in life. I'm neither of those things. From the moment I met her, Bree Pierce got under my skin and I can't get her out of my system, no matter how hard I try to. I was an inconvenience for her, someone she only spoke to because we made a mistake, not even worthy of being her friend. But I don't want her friendship. I want her. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes for her to choose me, to keep me as much as I want to keep her. Even if it ruins everything that we have.
Thalia is a new author born and raised in Puerto Rico, the same place where she lives, and constantly complains about the heat. She started writing at a very young age and soon discovered that craziness was what she wanted to do in life.
When she's not writing you can find her procrastinating on Instagram, pinning things on Pinterest, and laughing at memes. She has an endless love for dogs (and animals in general).
The book was so cute and everything and it was HILARIOUS until it got to the halfway mark. Somehow it started progressing and I was just left behind?
It’s most likely a me thing bc I’m not a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope. Yeah, ik boo! but idc it’s not my first choice.
Also, the writing got too wordy at times. The dialogue was kinda cringy. Like it started off GREAT. I had so much fun watching Bree rip a new one for every guy that pissed her off but then it just got tedious. The same phrases got repeated and unnecessary words were being used so I had to skim the last bit.
They were both so immature it was like how old are they again? It gave me flashbacks to my first couple of wattpad books.
Bree just pissed me off most of the time. She was so testy and Idk I didn’t HATE her but I didn’t love her either. I think I only tolerated her bc of the MMC.
Stanley was cute and such a gentleman when they were friends and then idk once they got together I didn’t see much of that? It could be my fault since It kinda lost me at 60% bc there was too much going on.
The writing could use some editing but what I did like was that Bree had no filter lmao. The way she told the guy that he was a clown in their first encounter was fucking priceless 💀🤣
𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: I’m looking forward to Ash and Ryder’s story! I swear Ryder carried this book for me.
𝗙𝗮𝘃 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
“Do I look like I’m joking?” “I don’t know. You’ve always looked like a clown to me,” ~HAHAH
“You have a colossal ego, buddy. If I ever want to commit suicide, I’d just climb to the top and throw myself off it. Certain death.”
Bree, our heroine, was such a breath of fresh air. I adored her sarcastic spunky nature!
Stanley, our hero, was a college athlete that was so refreshing to see. He broke away from the stereotypes that usually follow such heroes in books, and I love that! He was super sweet and knew what he wanted and how he felt about Bree.
The enemies-to friends-to lovers build up was spectacular. That's my favorite trope and Thalia Sanchez really brought it to life!
I also loved the side characters!! The whole cast of characters was developed so well, and I absolutely recommend this book to everyone! I can't wait for the next one!
I was lucky to receive an advanced reader's copy and I genuinely enjoyed reading this piece of work! The way the character's developed with each other and connected was wonderfully done! I was smiling, giggling, and even cringing from second-hand embarrassment! Gotta love those moments! AND the heat! Those hot moments everyone loves to read were definitely in this book!
I'd highly recommend Sweet Keeper to those who love hot college romances! This one includes a girl filled with spice and a guy touched with everything nice!
So this is really gonna end up me gushing about this book, while trying not to spoil anything. So to help myself not spoil some things I’m gonna start with just saying that I LOVED the side characters literally all of them even the one I’m probably not supposed to like 👀, but I’m not gonna get into them to much so I don’t spoil anything! Anyways Bree and Stanley how I loved them! Oh wow oh wow such good unique and NEW characters I felt like I’d never read characters like them before! Which is just mad refreshing! Bree is mad spunky, sarcastic, funny af all while she has a soft side. Stanley I won’t lie took me a minute to get used to that name since it’s my grandpas name and I kept hearing my grandma yelling the name STANLEY in my head, but I eventually stopped hearing thaT 🥴 and I ended up loving Stanley’s name for him somehow it just fit. As for Stan as a character I loved him he wasn’t really the stereotypical collage athlete which was definitely refreshing! He was so sweet and it was just so clear how he felt about Bree 🥺.
Them together! They where like fireworks! Enemies to friends to lovers and like I just loved that buildup it made them just so magnetic!! I hope you this isn’t really a spoiler ❓, but I love that the pairs conflict wasn’t based on miscommunication, that’s such an overused trope, and so to not see it was refreshing!
I literally could keep gushing about this book, but I’ll wrap it up by saying that prior to reading this book I’d never talked with Thalia. I signed up for an ARC because I loved the cover and helping out a new author is a great feeling for me! What I did not expect was to fall so head over heels for this story, for these characters, and to be seriously impressed with Thalia’s writing! For a debut novel this was mad impressive!! And I’ve also since finishing Sweet Keeper I’ve talked to Thalia a little and ah she’s just the sweetest person! But I rated this book before we ever talked so this is definitely my honest review!
I absolutely can not wait for the next books in the Sweet Talker series by the amazing Thalia Sanchez!! 💜💜💜
Okay so I really loved this book. I don’t often stray from the dark side of romance but I’m really glad I did. Thalia is a talented writer and her debut novel shows off her flair for words.
Bree and Stan are adorable. I absolutely loved them (and all their friends) and getting to know them. This book had a lot of funny moments and I found myself laughing out loud quite a bit.
It was so nice to read something where I had no idea where the author was taking me. This might be a college romance it's different from any college romance I've read before.
The characters were new, their obstacles and mishaps were unpredictable. I loved seeing Bree and Stan's relationship change and grow over time. I adored all the side characters and I can't wait to see more of them all. I'm even hoping we see more of John Carter and maybe a different side to him than what we've seen so far.
Even the HEA here played out differently than I expected and I am SO glad Thalia went that way with it!
For Thalia’s debut novel? This was bussin. . I don’t know why I expected this to be a dark romance but it’s really not. And in a way I’m glad. This book had me giggling. I don’t often laugh out loud from a book but this one is now on the list of the few that have. After reading some rather dark, gritty and twisted books as of late it was great to just float with a fun, light book. . I love the characters. I love the supporting characters just as much as the main characters and I can’t wait to see more from this world. I enjoyed the banter, their dynamic and connection was awe inspiring. The writing style was different to what I’m used to which I love. There’s so much detail and invokes such vivid imagery that it feels like your being transported. . This is a enemies to lovers that changes to friends to lovers and I love it. I never expected the amount of drama that they would go through so I enjoyed that pleasant surprise. . I’m afraid if I say too much that I’m going to spoil something because I just feel giddy and gushy after reading this, I want to spill the beans. I loved it. Definitely recommend it to everyone.
read this book while going through some shit in my own life all while the world around me was crumbling. it was like a comfort blanket for my soul every time i picked it up. just sweet college romance excellence 🤌💜
I'm mad at myself that it took me this long to get to Sweet Keeper (life, man), but I'm SO glad I did. This was Thalia Sanchez's debut novel, and I enjoyed it so much. After many dark reads in a row, it was so refreshing to come to this beautifully told story. Even dark romance lovers will fall for this sweet romance.
Friends to lovers holds a special place in my heart, and add in the college element and I'm typically sold. Bree and Stanly are SO cute. The unlikely bond that they create had me needing to keep reading. I literally finished this in a few hours.
Sanchez put her humor into this one, and I found myself laughing throughout, and smiling without even realizing it. I cannot WAIT to get to the next book in the Sweet Talkers series.
I couldn't believe this was the first book from this author! I loved this story! The story of Bree and Stanley is fun, and their banter makes the reading easy and enjoyable. The author has a way with words and it is very well written! This book is a story of two college students that meet under odd circumstances and face hurdle after hurdle that is thrown at them. Its an enemies to lovers, self discovery book. I won't say more bc I don't want to spoil anything but this was such a good book! 1 click!! Loved it!
“She’s a little devil that’s on her way to drag me to hell, teasing me and driving me crazy.”
Bree, is such a funny and authentic character, i laughed all over the book because of her. she is temperamental, sarcastic but has the soft side too. We realize how much she cares about those she loves and protects them so much in her friendship with the girls and, as Bree says, her boys, and even her relatives. Right at the beginning, I wasn't very attached to her but then? my god I surrendered all. Bree, Ash, Cora and Karma are wonderful together. We know each other's personality, and we realize how they complete each other so well.
“He’s definitely a keeper. The perfect husband material.”
Stanley is a sweetheart, my God, at first it seems like he's going to be an asshole but then we meet him and get all in love, because he's a baby. I'm very attached to Stan, he's protective, caring, intelligent (with some little problems in chemistry but who never, right?), I was too surprised, he's the definition of not judging a book by its cover. LOVE IT! MY ALL. What about his and Ryder's friendship? IS EVERYTHING TO ME! I laugh too much, they complete, support and are always there for each other. I can't wait to know more about Ryder, he is a character full of layers and who won my heart at his first appearance.
“Stan is possibly the sweetest guy I’ve met in my life.”
The development of Bree and Stan's relationship was so sweet! enemies to friends to lovers, it was wonderful to be with them. StanleyBree is the perfect match, the tension between those two almost killed me. I won’t deny that i let some tears to fall because their relationship is too beautiful, I love them so much!
“I find your chaos pretty attractive.”
The writing is super fluid, the characters are captivating, true, the ambiance is well developed and the relationships of the characters too. It is such a light and fun book, great if you are in a reading slump. I liked both the story and the characters because it's very real, I was able to imagine myself in many of the situations they got involved in. I LOVED TOO MUCH. For a first book, I thought it was amazing. I can't wait for the next books.
*ARC kindly provide by the author to a honest review.
This was a really solid debut novel for Thalia Sanchez. The characters were very well developed and complex. I loved how the relationship between Bree and Stanley developed over the course of the book and really enjoyed the story.
There was also a great supporting group of characters that really made the book.
This book is so good that I couldn’t stop reading it once I started it. Stanley stole my heart and Bree is my spirit animal from now on. Can’t wait for more books from this amazing and talented author.
I was a bit nervous going in because this Thalia's debut novel and I haven't had the best luck with college romances recently but damn did I love this!
The way the friendship between Bree and Stan was developed was amazing and THEN when they finally get together?!? I loved that their relationship really was a friendship until slowly but surely, they both started getting hints that maybe that chemistry they were feeling wasn't just a friends one.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Stanley at first because I (for some reason) thought the H was going to be John Carter in the beginning and I was like 'NO NO NOOO' but it's all good lol. Stan captured my attention from the start and he really did not let it go. He is literally one of the most perfect book boyfriends I've read in a while. I just absolutely love him.
Bree was an interesting character and I was worried she would be an 'I'm not like other girls' type of girl but no ma'am! She is NOT. I loved how she was both a comfy girl but also would dress up if she wanted to. I loved getting to know her.
Weird side note, but I actually really liked that there was actual college stuff involved lol. Like them studying and freaking out about grades and stuff. This year, I've read a couple college romances where I was questioning why it was one because there was basically no college life.
The reason I went with 4.5 is because I felt a bit disappointed that there was that one token Latina character that would speak Spanish when mad and would yell in Spanish at non-Spanish speakers and would then have to immediately translate what she said. As a native Spanish speaker, I have never personally done this nor do I have any friends who do this because it's so annoying having to repeat what you say. What's the point of yelling at someone in Spanish if you'll just have to repeat what you said in English? It negates the effect you were trying to go for.
Other than that, I really loved this book and I am so excited for the rest of the series!
This was such a sweet read just like the title suggests! Sweet Keeper is a slowburn "enemies" to friends to lovers, college and opposites attract na romance. Bree and Stanley start this book by disliking each other but after a series of unfortunate events they strike an unlikely alliance and friendship and it all goes from there. I have to say I really enjoyed the characters the most. Bree's impulsive, stubborn and chaotic personality wa refreshing to read as was Stan's golden boy, but also sweet self. I liked how their relationship progressed and how they were always good at communicating with each other.
I also very much adored the side characters (especially Ryder) and I can't wait to read more about them. And, weirdly, I'm very curious about John Carter.
On a more personal note, I really appreciated how the author about college students that have struggles with certain subjects.
Overall a quick and sweet read that I would recommend if you like college romance.

Debut?!??? Whaaaaaat!!! All I can say is there are some killer new authors out there! And I cannot wait to discover you all!!
Sweet Keeper was a really sweet enemies to friends, friends to lovers story. I actually found it to be an incredibly entertaining read. I enjoyed the back and forth between not only our main characters but all of the side characters aswell.
The one thing that I couldn't deal with was Bree calling Stanley's Dick “member” lol I couldn't help but laugh and couldn't help but see that scene from 10 Things I Hate About You with the Principal writing her erotic novel hahahaha.
But besides that seriously small bit, I loved Bree and Stanley. They were definitely not lacking when it came to chemistry and some of their scenes were so insanely hot and 100% realistic!!!! The story itself was not overly dramatic and it had enough humor without going over the top. It definitely had me laughing out loud more than once.
I hope I am not the only one, but I am so bloody curious about John Carter!!! Like what is up with this guy?!?!
A really well written debut book that I very much enjoyed and would happily recommend! Super keen for whatever Thalia has in stored for us next!!!
Sweet Keeper is a Thalia Sanchez' debut novel and I really I really enjoyed this beautiful story. Much like the title, sweet keeper is a sweet romance between two unlikely people who form a bond and just can't stay from each other.
This a friends to lovers, college, contemporary romance between Bree and Stanley. Bree is known for making impulsive decisions and getting herself in some sticky situations. When she drags her classmate, Stan into her drama they embark on an unlikely friendship which then leads to more.
I really love both of these main characters, but I have to say my heart goes to Stan's best friend Ryder. He was such a funny and adorable character and he made me laugh a lot.
This book had me giggling, smiling like a goof and gasping out loud. I really enjoyed reading Thalia's first published novel and I can't wait to see what comes next for her.
AHH, you don't understand I'M.IN.LOVE. because if this is the first book Thalia Sanchez has ever written then I can't wait to see more of her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!
This was such a sweet, lovely book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a debut!
Bree ia such a fabulous character. Her growth, her protectiveness and her ability to be unique and happy with herself is so inspiring. She is perfectly imperfect and I loved it. No unrealistic beauty queens here, just a naturally beautiful, real girl with real insecurities and feelings.
How cute is Stanley?! I wish more men were like him! Such a gentleman, and oh so thoughtful. I love a dark romance but this really tugged on my heartstrings. Though there were parts that went unanswered, I'm hoping there will be more books to come that will answer those questions. Especially with Ash.
Ryder is bae. No question about it. His character was my favourite thing about this book.
Thal's Debut novel was the sweet romance I needed from a friends to lovers. She nailed it! After being in a book slump all month the dialogue in this snatched me out of it. I adored Bree and Stan and how they lived up to the title in the cuteness. The character that snatched my soul though was Ryder, Stan's best friend, I need his book now.
While I typically don't go for sweeter romances this one was so good. It was a great palate cleanser in between my dark reads. While the actions of the characters were immature af it totally fit them since they are college students. It was refreshing to see them stumble and make real life bad decisions and be hypocritical in their actions. The conflict in the story was pretty minimal and was resolved fairly quickly. I appreciated Stan's real reaction to the situation and it was completely relatable.
If your in the mood for a HEA with low stakes and a quickly evolving friends to lovers plot I say snag this one up.
This has been one of those books that you start reading and you just can't stop. The concept is enemies-to friends-to lovers was amazing.
Bree (the lead) is so original and sarcastic and full of life that it is impossible not to like her. On the other hand, Stanley. Sweet Stanley. He himself is pure love. There is no time in the book that you hate him, he really is a "sweet keeper".
The story was beautiful, and hot ;), but very well narrated. Thalia has the gift to get you into her worlds and not let you go. I trully loved this book but I also hated certain someone (if you read it you will know who, I still can't get over it) (I'm screaming internally).
This is the first book in the Sweet Talkers saga and I NEED to read the books that'll follow. Each one is about a different couple, so they could be read as stand-alones, but you should definitely read them all.
━━━
Thalia Sanchez has definitely lived up to my expectations! I read the blurb for “Sweet Keeper“ and was immediately interested. Thalia brought to life such an original, well written story that hooks the reader from the very first page. The storyline has great flow, with the perfect mix of conflict and romance to keep your eyes glued to the page. Stanley and Bree were so great together and I truly enjoyed reading their story. Once you get into the story you can really see that the two of them fit so well together! Plus, Bree is just freaking fantastic! 👌🏻❤️ This novel and these characters were exactly what I hoped for and more. 😊 I want to keep this review short and sweet, to be sure that I don’t let any spoilers slip, so I will finish off by saying this... If you are in the market for a great weekend read, then look no further! This book gets a 5 star rating from me and if you give it a try I bet you will give it five stars too! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was a fantastic debut novel by Thalia Sanchez. Sweet Keeper is full of witty banter, great characters and a detailed plot. I loved this book and laughed out loud several times. Stanley is such a sweetheart and not your stereotypical jock. Bree is feisty and I loved her spirit. I highly recommend this book. A very enjoyable read!
Stanley Is the perfect boyfriend material, that I ever read about he is super cute and caring and gentlemen, funny, he was really the golden boy❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍
Bree was mess, but cute and funny mess.
I loved every character in the story.
I can't wait for ash and Ryder story.
And cora I really liked her the most. Can't wait for her story.
This book was amazing I loved every character in the book.
I loved the plot because I am a sucker for enemies to lover trope. I related so much to both the main characters. Stanley was such a charmer I loved him once they met. Bree is a badass I love her witty comments she was honestly a good heroine. The overall book was amazingly written this is Thalia Sanchez’s debut novel and it was a solid read I am excited for the rest of the series. I highly recommend reading this book.
I was given and Advance Readers Copy for an honest review.
While reading Sweet Keeper, I enjoyed the book. But, truthfully, it wasn’t a memorable book. Soon as I moved onto the next book, I kind of forgot most of the plot line and all about the characters.
Enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, college romances… I can’t get enough of it, usually. Sweet Keeper was all of those things, but I struggled to connect with the characters. There’s a lot of characters in this book and at times, I did find myself getting a bit confused.
Bree and Stanley’s (I struggle with this name, sorry!) relationship is interesting. Bree is impulsive, sometimes a little too impulsive. But, her character feels real compared to a lot of books that I’ve read.
Sweet Keeper was funny at times, sweet, and all about friendships and love, while trying to figure out adulthood.
The story in general is fine, nothing spectacular but nothing terrible either, however the writing just wasn't for me. This felt like an early 2014 Wattpad book and not in the good nostalgic way.
By the the time I read the word orbs for the fiftieth time I just couldn't take it anymore.
I struggled a bit to get through this one because of its writing. In the Kindle edition I read, there were a lot of mistakes (mostly grammar) and a lot of common idioms were butchered which made reading it awkward. Additionally, most feelings were over-explained by the characters when their actions and words already SHOWED the reader their motivations. Instead, whole paragraphs were used to TELL the reader explicitly what was going on, breaking a simple rule to show and not tell. Again, this became excruciating after a while because it made everything longer than it had to be and diffused a lot of tension without meaning to.
Nonetheless, I enjoyed the characters and the story. I liked their chemistry and how they complemented each other. I presume that a lot of plot points that were left unexplained and only hinted at will be answered in the following books. They were not intriguing enough, though, to make me want to pick up the next book.
I think it’s a pity that the friends just exist and are not developed enough because the story almost exclusively revolves around Bree and Stanley. I wish there were some other subplots to break up the story more and characterise every character further. As it stands, both Bree and Stanley come across as shitty friends because they only seem to care about their own drama and relationship, as there are little to no talks that do not revolve around them. It is also a shame that a threesome was hinted at that never happened. I would have loved to see that. It would have been very funny.
My last point is about the antagonist. I wish he would have been fleshed out more because he comes across as a moustache-curling villain and his actions are not justified enough. It is also never explained how he finds out about what Bree and Stanley have done, so I honestly does not make much sense that he found out at all. My guess is that the author had no idea. The best villains are the ones who have a point and go to extremes but he is never given the same treatment. Bree and Stanley did an objectively bad thing (especially because there are a million ways to fix a phone screen). It also makes little sense that it takes him so long to lash out, especially because he only confronts Bree once about her message and then waits a whole week to expose her?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was such a sweet read. Which I guess I should have expected from the title but somehow those were not the expectations that I was going in with. I though Stan was going to be a super intense, dark and assholie MMC. And Bree wasn't going to take any of his shit. You know... the normal. However that is not what I got at all.
This is more of the girl "corrupting" the guy. And I say that lightly because this is the farthest thing from dark. Bree is just impulsive with bad luck. Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. She really doesn't think before she acts and it was hilarious. I wouldn't be able to deal with her in real life but it was fun reading about her. Also, loved how blunt she was. She talked before it could process through her brain which led to some funny moments.
Stan was the epidomy of a gentleman and sooo very sweet. Like their is nothing bad about him. He was literally in a cold sweat and shaking because he "borrow" his friend's phone. He would even blush when he was embarrass. Maybe a little too sweet for my taste. He would be perfect if this was real life but I want some alphaness with my MMC.
Going into this book I really wanted something darkish bc I just finished with a rom-com and I wanted my hero to be super possesive and intense. However that was the last thing that I got. And I think that was why I wasn't super into it. Like he was wayyyyy toooo sweeeet!!!
There banter was also super funny and that was a plus to keep me interested. But towards the end I was skimming through some parts. The plot was not the most complex but still good.
I would still recommend if you want to read a book with a sweet boy and sassy heroine. This would be a perfect cleanser. But it just happen to be that I didn't want a cleanser.
This was a really cute read! This book reminded me of how much I used to love college NA romances and made me miss it. I especially loved the girl friendships in this book and how Stanley was soft <3
Cannot wait to read the next book and for all the ladies to get a story!!
