An impending divorce. An ornery homicide detective. The cruise of a lifetime. And ghosts. Midlife on the high seas is proving to be a real killer. If I thought the first half of my life was a bumpy ride, I’d better buckle up because I’m about to go over the hill and off the rails.
My name is Trixie Troublefield, and I live on a cruise ship. My days are filled with exciting shore excursions, nonstop buffets, and ceaseless games of bingo—can life get any better than this?
The Emerald Queen is bound for the glacial landscapes of Alaska, and a widowers club comes along for the ride.
But the chilled heart of a killer sees to it that one unsuspecting passenger is not only on their way to the final frontier—it will be their final destination.

I was led on a merry chase by this story. I feel like I was able to pick up on a lot of the important clues, but I certainly didn’t put the puzzle together before Trixie was able to solve the mystery. I’m still not completely comfortable with the somewhat triangular nature of her relationships aboard the Emerald Queen, but I do appreciate that one is more clearly described as “friendship” than the other. And now, with the vindictive little twist in the end of this book, I can’t wait to see what the author has planned out for Trixie’s next voyage. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book through Booksprout.
I love a well crafted cozy mystery and my vacation of choice is a cruise. Recently, I needed a brief bit of fluff - a palate cleanser - after reading a particularly heavy novel. To that end, this book served its purpose well. It’s the 2nd book I've read in this series, but I probably won’t be reading another. The premise is interesting enough and the cast of characters has potential (think Scooby Gang hits middle age at sea) but I found the endless obsession with food annoying. It’s a cruise ship. There are lavish buffets. Got it. Less ‘ooey gooey lava cake’ and more plot/character development, please.
Trixie is traveling as a guest on the Emerald Queen Cruise Ship due to her suspension from teaching her art classes onboard. This was due to Tinsley who tried to convince the cruise ship company that Trixie was talking about ghosts and scaring the passengers. She wanted Trixie to get fired and is upset that Trixie was only put on a short leave. Trixie's never been to Alaska and is looking forward to a fantastic trip with amazing scenery and ports. On board is a widower's club. It seems like they'll be a fun group but then the unthinkable happens and one of the club members dies. Is it a suicide or is it "murder"? A ghost appears and Trixie talks to him to try to find out what he knows about the deceased and if he can help her solve the case. Unfortunately, Tinsley sees her in what looks like her having an animated conversation with no one at her table. Tinsley wants to get her off the ship so that she can get the attention of Ransom, the Head of Security, and the Ship Captain Wes who both have their eyes on Trixie. Can Trixie solve the case and keep Tinsley from destroying her position on the ship? You'll have to read this book and see. I love this whole series but each book can be read as a standalone. I encourage you to read all four books in the series. I think you'll love them as much as I did.

I enjoy this Sherie about Trixie, recently divorced from the man she caught in flagrante delicto in their marriage bed on their anniversary, just as they were about to leave for a cruise. Trixie quickly filed for divorce and went on the cruise by herself. Suddenly, her life is filled with whacky friends, daily feasts of fabulous foods, and the attentions of two very handsome men. Along with her successful blog, “Suddenly Single,” these things leave Trixie very busy. As an added bonus, she can now see and converse with ghosts. The ghosts are always close to someone who has been murdered, and there’s roughly one murder per cruise, as Trixie has decided to live on the cruise ship permanently. Several books are set on cruises around Hawaii, but this one is set on an Alaskan cruise. The descriptions of the cruise locations are lush, making me wonder if I would like to live on a cruise ship… However, the juvenile and suggestive obsessions of a couple of Trixie’s friends are beginning to wear on me. But all in all, this is a good entry in a fun cozy series.
Trixie is on this cruise as a passenger due to her suspension. The ship is booked with a huge group of widows. She meets a really cast of characters. She meets up with her boyfriend when they see a body. One of the ladies of the club will not be making it home. Trixie decides that she needs to determine if it is really a crime or not. Trixie and the gang will be on an interesting adventure.
I didn't include any spoilers for the book, I didn't want to ruin it for any new readers. Trixie and her boyfriend will keep you entertained with their antics. Trixie and her boyfriend will add sweetness to the story. The world this author created is such a fun place to disappear into. I recommend reading this.

I have to say I am a little jealous of Trixie's life, she now calls Emerald Queen Cruise Ship her home although thanks to a spiteful work colleague she is now just a guest for this Alaskan cruise not that it bothers her as she gets to hang out with her fun and sassy friends Bess and Nettie. This cruise however is no different than the others where she finds herself trying to solve a murder and there appears to be quiet a few suspects to work through, but we also get to know more about Bess and Nettie and their families. You get some great laughs, ridiculous situation ie the bears as well as obviously great food, a sprinkle of romance while solving the mystery and an end that has you slack jaw!.

I really love Trixie, Ranson, Wes, Bess, and Nettie! These characters are a hoot! This cruise is Alaska bound this time around, and it's getting cold this time. And a suicide/murder happens right from the get-go. A member of the widows walk group seems to have offed herself and left a suicide note? But nothing is as it seems, especially when a ghost shows up to help Trixie solve the murder.
I really enjoyed this story and it seems the gig might be up for Trixie when her arch nemesis, Tinsley, has taken videos of Trixie seemingly talking to herself... and she has to come clean to one of the guys!!
Can't wait to see what happens in the next Alaskan cruise with everyone's kids aboard.

I enjoyed reading this mystery very much. Acquire " Alaska Alibi Cruise " ( book 4 of Cruising Through Midlife:Cruise Ship Cozey Mysteries) for hours of intriguing and enjoyable entertainment. Kat.

This book renewed my memories of the 2 cruises to Alaska. This book was very entertaining and of course the murder must be solved. Looking forward to the next book.Alaska of full of history, wonders of the world and great people. The time to go is the is the last trips the cruise lines go-for the season. The weather is perfect, Not too cold, no fog and you can see the glaciers with the sun shining on them . The only downside was the train ride through the Valley of Tears. All you see is trees! Take the 9 hour bus ride with lunchtime. The bus drivers talk the whole time and they don’t repeat themselves. The bus goes to Skagway in the Yukon , Canada.
Alaska Alibi Cruise is such a great and quick read. I could not put it down once I started. This was so much fun. Trixie and the regular gang for the cruise were trying to help figure out who murdered one of the passengers. The widows club has joined the cruise to Alaska and someone makes it one passenger's final destination. Who did it? Why did they do it??? Just grab the book and read and you will have all the answers.

I love this series! Trixie Troublefield is back on the Emerald Queen for an Alaskan cruise with a bunch of sweet little old widowed ladies. She thinks this will be a much calmer trip with the destination and company being more her speed but that's not how life works for Trixie. Unfortunately one of the sweet widows has fallen overboard into a life boat which ironically lead to her death. Some say it was an accident. Some say suicide but when a long gone soul comes back from paradise to visit Trixie knows it can only mean one thing....murder....and it's up to her to solve it!
What a different combination for a book series. The ghost storyline along with the cruising aspect is a winning combo. All the characters are very entertaining. I love the two men vying for Trixie's affection. Stir in the two hilariously crazy older friends and a new group of diverse passengers with each book and of course the villain cruise director. It has all the makings of a wonderful book. I'm really enjoying this series of books. Highly recommend not only this book, but the entire series.
This is a great cozy mystery that has wonderful characters and just enough twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. It is an amazing paranormal cozy mystery! I really enjoyed it. It is clever and funny, with lots of laughs and adventures. This book was a joy to read. Very interesting and original idea for the premise of the story’s plot. Clever job to the author!.

This is a series that just keeps on givin'. Addison Moore has once again brought to life a story filled with fun, feisty characters that just keep you laughing and guessing the whole way through. I love this new adventure with Trixie Troublefield (Amazing name BTW) and all the passengers of the Emeralg Queen cruise ship. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next for this series full of amazing characters and even better mysteries.
Trixie is back in book four of the Cruising Through Midlife series and in this book she is headed to Alaska. I am loving this series and from the murder mysteries to the paranormal twists this is an entertaining, page turning series. I loved all of the quirky characters, the storyline, the humor, and the unexpected twists. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I was particularly into this book as my wife and I took this exact cruise and went to the towns in this story on our 42nd anniversary! I love the way the author keeps us all rivited to the book to find out where it's going. Really fun read! I wish I could go on this cruise again soon! Can't wait to read the next in the series! The icebergs were awesome! If you can Take this cruise you'll love it but take warm clothes!
I like Trixie and all her friends. The plot is good, and it kept me guessing with its twists and turnsm Trixie' s blog answers questions people ask about taking cruises, and she gives tips for enjoying cruise ship vacations. One interesting tip is about the card keys for one's cabin. I like the descriptions of where Trixie and friends go when they are ashore. I like this series.
Her stories are fun, her characters somewhat whacko (hooray) and her story conflicts get me into the discussions. I've been on several Alaska cruises and recognize the scenery and cities, watching glaciers valve so the ice looks blue. I remember the Skagway train ride, but I don't recall any breakneck speeds, just the many cliffs and gullies. Heading for the second Alaska cruise story, hoping Tinsley eventually gets "hers".
Trixie is back on board for cruise 4, and this time the ship is Alaska bound.
And not 3 hrs in someone is dead. What a surprise.
The woman wasn’t well-liked, so plenty of suspects. Trixie has her work cut out for her. And she also needs to watch her back, because Tinsley is on the war path and determined to get her thrown off the ship for good.
Really funny, clever and full of cruise related tit-bits. Loved it!
Trixie has a lot on her plate. A divorce looming over her head, a pain in the rear homicide detective, a cruise she has wanted forever and ghosts. This is a great series that you should definitely go back to the beginning and read. Trixie lives on a cruise ship which she feels is very exciting until a killer gets aboard a cruise to Alaska.
A wonderful book by author Addison Moore. Trixie is such a awesome character that meets some zany characters on the ship. Along with her boyfriend they all try to solve a murder. I was totally drawn into this book. I loved it...

I throughly enjoyed this book! Trixie is in the cruise as a guest, because she is serving a suspension from the cruise line. She meets a group called The Widow’s Walk which decided to go on a cruise. Unfortunately one of the members is found dead. Trixie and crew are in the case to solve the murder. Make sure you read to the end of the book.
Another cracking mystery set on a cruise ship. A hundred members of a widows group have booked a cruise together. One of them is found dead and the plot twists and turns throughout the book. This book is listed as a cosy mystery but has far more depth in it than is usual in this genre.
These cruises 🛳 are delightful. I am enjoying the friendship bonds formed with Bess, Nettie and Elodie. And the connection between Handsome Ransom and Trixie is always enjoying. With a few unexpected directions, Trixie solves another murder. Great writing ✍️.

I really enjoy all of Addison’s series. This story was great. I have been to Alaska and I could relate to her descriptions. She made me feel like I was there in the story itself. I can’t wait for her next book.
Addison Moore kept me entertained from start to finish with this latest addition to the Cruising Through Midlife series. The character work and story line were well written and kept me laughing.

Ms. Moore's ability to turn a character from good guy to killer was amazing and I didn't really see it coming. The mystery does it solved not before Wes and Ransom duke it out over the lovely Ms Trixie. A fine book with loads of sarcasm, lol!
