The Invincibles Hammer Gets His Story!!
Hammer is the attorney for the Invincibles. When the Director of the CIA calls him he pays attention. But he is calling on a “personal matter” His younger step-sister Maeve is buying a bar nearby and is arrested for shooting the current owner. She may also have a few other issues to tend to.
A terrific, entertaining story full of intrigue and chemistry. Hammer is basically made responsible for Maeve, so they are definitely thrown together. Maeve is rather irreverent, but has a hidden side. Sparks fly - and rule-follower Hammer may be hiring someone else to be Maeve’s lawyer so the lines between client and lawyer no longer intrude.

Wow what a ride! Hammer and Maeve’ story starts with a bang and just keeps you guessing till the very end to see what happens. They both feel the instant attraction, but aren’t really sure how to deal with it. How they figure everything out makes for a fantastic read!

Have been waiting for Hammer's story for quite a bit. This book was engaging and perfect storyline for him. I could not put it down since it had so many twists and turns. Heather Slade has done it again with a phenomenal book and lead in to the next story.

Sterling "Hammer' Anderson has just landed in Texas after attending Saint and Harper's wedding in London. He was a bit surprised to see a text from Kellen “Money” McTiernan since they had been on the same flight to DC. Apparently, something urgent has come up and even though he really wanted sleep he made the call.
Money's half-sister Maeve is in trouble and needs a lawyer in a hurry. She's a lot younger than Money, is beautiful, smart and wealthy to boot. All things that can complicate things for her.
When Hammer calls Mac MacIver, the sheriff, he finds the charge to be attempted murder, but Maeve also has bench warrants and other things outstanding. Not helping is the victim is the sheriff's brother, Bobby. All of this stems from Maeve making an offer to buy the bar. Now why she wants a bar in Texas is anyone's guess and Money has tried to discourage the purchase. Money also told him she has an aversion to the words no and don't. If you use them with her, she will do the opposite every time.
Hammer manages to get Maeve out of jail on a writ bond, which means both his money and reputation are on the line if she flees.
His ranch manger, Zane “Rip” Kailor also works for the Invincibles but on a part-time basis, Hammer lets him know about Maeve's situation since it's possible to be called away for something else and she can't be left alone.
There's also the attraction between them that hovers close in all their scenes together. There's also a lot more to Maeve buying that bar than meets the eye.
First the attempted murder charge needs to be resolved as does the other older charges against her. The judge while not lenient appears fair, although the community service hours seem a bit much. The judgement that the writ stays in place is something neither of them expected.
It takes a while but once Maeve opens up about the true reason she wants the bar. That reason is downright scary and dangerous. Although she doesn't say exactly what the person stole from her, his affiliation with the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas makes things complicated.
All through this, the attraction between Maeve and Hammer accelerates. There's also an interesting twist in all this as an Invicibles case intertwines with it.
I couldn't put this book down, there are twists, turns, romance, and so much more jumping off the pages.
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Hammered is Book Nine of the Invincible’s and its Hammer and Maeve’s story. Hammer gets a text message from the CIA director Kellen “Money” McTiernan “Urgent I speak to you ASAP”. Sterling “Hammer” Anderson Attorney his motto “I put the hammer down”. So Money calls in a favor and asks Hammer to keep an eye on this sister Mary “Maeve”McTiernan and to beware she is a bit on the fiesty side, very impulsive, determined, a mind of her own, and never tell her she can’t, or don’t do something because she will do everything in her power to make it happen. Just Because! Hammer finds out she has been arrested so he has to go bail her out of jail, she has been arrested for attempted murder. Maeve finds herself arrested and sitting in jail awaiting trial for attempted murder of the owner of the local and very popular bar in town who just happens to be the brother of the Sheriff. So she accepts Hammer as her attorney and he gets her out on bail and he attempts to get information from her of her recollection of the events leading up to the shooting she is not 100% above board with him he isn’t real confident she is telling the truth. We begin that up and down roller coaster ride trying to get to the truth in all things. I enjoyed this story. This author is one of my absolute favorites. Love her stories. Story is filled with suspense, drama, mystery, intensity, danger and romance. Each story grabs ahold of you and keeps you on edge right up until you turn the page and discover you are at the end and you haven’t budged at all. These stories are that mesmerizing! I highly recommend, fantastic reads. So looking forward to Book ten “Ripped”. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is the 9th book in the Invincibles series featuring Hammer and Dublin/Maeve's action-packed sexy suspenseful story. Sterling/Hammer is the lawyer for the Invincibles an intelligence and private security firm. His latest assignment is to get Maeve out of jail and to have the charges against her dismissed. He's stunned speechless when he sees her completely stunned by her beauty he thinks that she's the most beautiful woman that he's ever see. Maeve shot the sheriff's brother in the leg she didn't know who he was when she shot him. She was simply attempting to purchase a bar when the owner reneged on the deal because he decided that he wanted sexual favors instead. Dublin/Maeve and Hammer/Sterling have red HOT chemistry together they strike enough sparks off of each other to generate electricity. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story as Hammer and Maeve try to navigate through the issues surrounding the charges filed against her by the sheriff who's brother is the victim conflict much? I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this sexy, action-packed story to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Hammered is the ninth book in The Invincibles series. This story is about Sterling "Hammer" Anderson and Maeve "Dublin" McTiernan. Hammer is contacted by Kellen "Money" McTiernan, the Director of the CIA, because he needs Hammer to help his younger step-sister with a little issue. When Maeve is in the middle of buying the Long Branch bar on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, the current owner, Bobby MacIver, tries to "renegotiate" the terms and it appears that Maeve shot him. Maeve is a spit fire crossed with a live hand-grenade and she knows how to use it all. The problem is that Bobby is the brother of the local Sheriff, John MacIver. As it stands they have her in custody not only for the shooting but more than a few other minor issues. It seems that Hammer is about to have a whole lot of fun with this case and that is going to lead to more than a little heated chemistry between them.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. I have only read a couple of the books from The Invincibles series before now. I was very happy that I picked up this book though. Hammer is the attorney for the Invincibles. He is ruthless in and out of work. Maeve, or Dublin, is the younger sister of the director. She has found herself in a mess with the local law and needs his help. These two have an instant attraction but she is very independent and now in the cross hairs of trouble. Hammer is going to try to get things settled but he has his own plans for Maeve. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. When she disappears, Hammer and the guys will do whatever it takes to get her back. He knows that they have a future together. I enjoyed this book and the characters. Maeve and Hammer were perfect for each other. I plan to go take another look at the books in this series.

Hammer is one of The Invincibles, in his regular job he is an attorney. When his friend, Money, the CIA director calls in a favor, even with as tired as he is, he cannot turn him down. His younger sister in jail for shooting a man, who happens to be the sheriff's brother. He did not plan how she would make him feel, his protective urges are in overdrive. Being close quarters with Maeve is making hard to be professional.
Maeve has always done what she has wanted, marched to her own drummer. Getting arrested for shooting the guy she was buying a bar from was not her intent. He brother sends this guy to get her out of a the jam she is in, tells he she has to listen and do what he says.
The chemistry between the two is on fire, when Maeve goes missing he will bring in the whole team to find her. This story has plenty of drama, action, steam and is a page turner.

This was a suspense romance.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were realistic. The story was well paced and intriguing.
Maeve McTiernan is a feisty Irish bar owner. She is also the younger half sister of the CIA director. She is in the process of buying the Long Branch bar when she shoots the current owner and gets into a bit of legal trouble.
Sterling Hammer Anderson is the Invincibles attorney of record and a former Marine Raider. The Invincibles are a private security and intelligence firm. He owns a ranch in Texas near the Long Branch. He gets Maeve out of jail on a writ bond with the stipulation by Sheriff Mac that she has to stay with Hammer. He and his associates help her run the bar while they are working on a mission involving the Aryan brotherhood. Meanwhile she and Hammer are wildly attracted to each other and end up catching feelings before getting their HEA.

Enjoyable Romantic Suspense
Sterling (Hammer) gets Dublin (Maeve) out of jail, and she has no idea that she is about to change his life. He is her attorney, so it is unethical for him to get involved with her, but his heart has other ideas. She is in league with his traitorous heart, and she wants another attorney. Why is Maeve in Jail in the first place? Is she a bad woman, or is she a strong one? Before Dublin and Hammer can find happiness, there will be challenges for them to face. There are demons from Dublin’s past that will come calling. The romance and suspense in this story will keep you turning the pages. Even though there are references to previous books in this series, you can read this story as a standalone; however, you will want to read the entire series. I enjoyed the story and the entire series and would recommend it to those who like romantic suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

In Hammered, Book 9 in the Invincibles series, the group's legal eagle, Hammer, meets his match in fiery Maeve - sister of non other than Money, the CIA director. It was great not just to see Hammer fall in lust and love, but to also see Money's softer side! As is this author's trademark, there is a lot of suspense with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing - and still get in wrong - till the very end. With quite a number of characters from previous novels showing up and lending a helping hand, this is a fantastic read! As a bonus, we get quite a bit of local colour - both Texan and Irish. A warning: Once you start, you won't be able to stop until you finish! And at the end, there's a hint of things to come as Rip gets his story next.

I really enjoyed reading Hammered . Attorney Sterling Anderson (Hammer) may have got the hardest assignment of his career . He is Attorney for the Invincibles . Hammer must help Kellen (Money ) McTiernans sister Maeve McTiernan (Dublin ) . She has been arrested for several charges the biggest shooting the bar owner whos bar she wants to buy . Hammer finds being in close quarters with Dublin a bigger challenge than he realized . Their chemistry is off the charts . When Dublin goes missing . Hammer and his friends will have to do everything and anything to rescue Dublin . This story is action packed, entertaining and sexy , definitely interesting and suspenseful . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This is the 9th book in the Invincibles series by Heather Slade and can be read as a standalone (but characters from the other books in this series make an appearance). Sterling Anderson, better known as Hammer is the attorney for the Invincibles group. He received a call from the CIA director about a personal matter. His sister, Maeve was arrested for shooting the current owner of a bar that she was in the process of buying. CIA director "Money" wants him to help her and to prove she didn't kill anyone. The attraction is there from the very beginning between them, but when she goes missing there's nothing Hammer wouldn't do to get her back. This book was amazing! It had action, romance, suspense, and wonderful characters. I voluntarily received a copy of this book, but the thoughts & opinions are my own.

Another success 4.5*
Hammer is an attorney, associated with the security group and Money. On returning home from a wedding in England, he is asked by Money to help out Mary, his sister who has been arrested. Mary is in the USA with dual nationality from Ireland and has a purpose for being there. Intriguing story and background.
He is controlled and decisive, whereas she is strong willed and determined, often acting on her temper and without thought of consequences. Her behaviour at times was immature, believes her money can buy her way out of trouble, until the local judge thinks otherwise.
Hammer and Mary soon become a couple despite the dangers creeping in the background. This time her trouble needs more than money to rescue her.
Great addition to the series.

He is controlled and decisive, whereas she is strong willed and determined, often acting on her temper and without thought of consequences. Her behaviour at times was immature, believes her money can buy her way out of trouble, until the local judge thinks otherwise.
Hammer and Mary soon become a couple despite the dangers creeping in the background. This time her trouble needs more than money to rescue her.

Wow, another great addition to the Invincible's series. This is Hammer (Sterling Anderson) and Maeve Donoghue McTiernan’s story. He’s the Invincibles attorney and she’s CIA director Money McTiernan’s half sister and a hand full. She’s in trouble with the law and in custody for attempted murder. Money calls in Hammer to help her out. According to her brother, she’s feisty, stubborn, independent and very wealthy and doesn’t like to. be told “no” or “don’t”. She will do the exact opposite. A fast paced storyline that moves along nicely with plenty of action, twists and turns, secrets, surprises and hot chemistry between Hammer and Maeve. I highly recommend this series by one of my favorite authors. Looking forward to Rip’s story next.

Let's get Hammered!
OK, so I've been reading about Hammer in several of this author's earlier books, so I was more than curious and ready to learn more about our legal eagle. There's so much to love in this story! Not only do we get to know Hammer, but we also get to know more about Money McTiernan's family as Hammer is paired up with Money's firecracker of a sister. And, the storyline takes us back to the early days of the Invincibles with cameos from Edge and Rebel.
Hammer is one sexy, dedicated, and focused attorney. He's got his hands full with Maeve and all her secrets, though, so it takes the entire team to keep her safe and get to the bottom of why she's in Texas to begin with. These two keep each other hopping, challenging each other intellectually as well as trying to rein in their fierce attraction, at least until their working relationship is resolved.
I adored the secret twist that helped resolve the tense situation in the climax! It really drives home how well the Invincibles team works together on so many levels. I loved Hammer and Maeve's HEA, and the bit of Irish history at the end of the story was a special treat.
Great fun, lots of sexy times, nail-biting suspense, and a delightful sense of humor all combine to make this an unforgettable romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

If you have been following this series then you have probably been waiting for this latest addition We finally get the story of Sterling Anderson (Hammer) he is the attorney that represents The Invincibles so as you can imagine his life is fairly busy and chaotic His latest case is for Kellen (Money ) McTiernan their CIA contact his sister Maeve has been charged with murder The man who was shot was the man she wanted to buy a bar from. The attraction between Hammer and Maeve is instant and hot but when she goes missing it will take all the Invincibles to get her back as well as a few characters from the past. Like all of Heather Slade's books this is a wild roller coaster ride that you want to put down once you start it and a early morning finish was what did it for me

After getting to know Hammer as the smooth and efficient lawyer in other books I was excited to see him get his own book so we could really get to know him and I was not disappointed! This time Money needs his help and not only is it for Money's sister but she also got in trouble in his home town and worse shot the sheriffs brother. Maeve doesn't trust easily nor does she hold her tongue so doesn't make things easy for Hammer, however he slowly shows her he can be trusted and he learns more than just what really went down at the bar. I loved the mix of attraction, danger, secrets and revelations you get in this book as well as seeing a different side to Money along with seeing old friends again.

Getting an "I need your help" call from Money McTiernan in the early hours while operating on no sleep is not exactly oprimum for Sterling "Hammer" Anderson. Having to deal with Maeve McTiernan and her Irish temper, the charges against her and the local sheriff means sleep isn't happening soon. Finding out he word no and don't are triggers for her is the icing on the cake. Having her as his charge is both heaven and hell becase this dark haired, blue eyed dynamo ticks every one of "the reasons I can't have her no matter how tempting she is" boxes. A stolen artifact, the Aryan Brothers Texas, a popular bar and a kidnappng added to the spicy interludes between Maeve and Hammer, all make Code Name: Hammer exciting, intense and hard to put down.

Sterling aka Hammer is an integral part of the Invincibles team as their attorney. When the CIA director Money McTiernan calls him for a favor, he steps in to look into Money's stepsister Maeve. Money wants Hammer to see what she is actually doing trying to buy a bar in a bad part of town. Maeve has trust issues and has a hard time even trusting Hammer with her biggest secret.
This book has lots of twists and turns and is also brings in some of the other Invincibles. It even brings in new characters that we may see in an upcoming book or two.

Hammer, a lawyer, gets a call from his friend, Kellen, in the Invincibles, his sister, Maeve, a prospective bar owner and wealthy socialite, has shot someone, can Hammer go to Hays County and see if he can sort it out. He's just arrived on the redeye so isn't completely on board. Still he rings his friend, Mac, the sheriff, to find out what he can tell him, the person she shot was the owner of the bar and also Mac's brother!
An entertaining read from Heather, wrapping up some of the loose ends from previous books with a heroine who is great!

I really loved this book! Hammer is a lawyer and gets a job helping his friends sister, Maeve, out of trouble, however Hammer isn’t prepared for how beautiful and feisty Maeve is. However Hammer is keen to get Maeve another lawyer so he can peruse his connection with her further but soon trouble appears and Maeve is in danger. An amazing story, I just loved it from start to finish filled with lots of drama and suspense, twists and turns and a fantastic ending I really can’t wait for more from this author! Loved it!

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Sterling (Hammer) Anderson is on his way home from wedding. He gets a text from Kellen "Money" McTiernan asking if he will help his half-sister Maeve out as she's in major trouble. When Hammer meets Maeve there are sparks flying. I love the development between Hammer and Maeve and the twists and turns that are mixed in the story. There is some suspense, mystery, drama, danger, intrigue, and romance. I am glad I took a chance and read this book as I've found a new author to read.

The Invincibles world created by Heather Slade is always a fun place to visit and Hammered runs true to form. As a Texas attorney, Hammer is asked by the head of the CIA to bail his very Irish sister out of jail, and represent her in various legal entanglements. What follows is quite entertaining.
Heather Slade has become one of my go-to authors. She is a talented writer with a devious mind! LOL Her books are entertaining and her storylines nonlinear. There is a freshness brought to each book that keeps me eager for her next novel. Although quite steamy, the open door bedroom scenes do not overshadow the plot. Bring on the next book!

Another great chapter in this series. We’ve got Hammer and Maeve, thrown together as she is in trouble but this time she’s gone too far. Loved Hammer’s inner thoughts, e.g., barbecue, ruining the mood, clipping her wings, his overriding need to possess and protect her, and the sweetest of all, “the wonder of you,”. Maeve is holding back and that creates havoc, especially for the rest of the Invincibles,but at the same time, family steps up in the best way. Always enjoy these stories and characters, they bring you into their world right from the first page.

And of course, the end leaves you in a bit of wonderment and waiting for the next book.

HAMMER AND MAEVE SOLVE A MYSTERY
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.
Hammer is hired to get Maeve off for shooting the sheriff’s brother. I like the way that Hammer and Maeve fell for each other yet battled their attraction. I also liked the way that Hammer remained the consummate gentleman throughout the story. I also like the way the Invincibles practically dropped everything to save Maeve. The twist in the story was a good one and helped the story retain its air of deadliness.
