The heroine: Stephanie - was turned by a “no-fanger” when she and her sister were kidnapped from a family vacation as a teenager. Stephanie has some abilities that many immortals don’t have. One of which is her ability to hear everyone’s thoughts from a much larger radius than most immortals. Her ability is so sensitive that she isn’t able to block them out an had to move away to a remote location in Canada where she has few neighbors.

The Hero(s): Thorne - his father is Dr. Dressler, the fanatical geneticist that started experimenting with combinations of human and animal DNA. Thorne is made up of a human mixed with a few other things such as a bald eagle, dolphin, bat and a few others. Though he mostly looks like a man with wings and white hair.

The Story: Thorne was the one who left his father’s Island off the coast of Venezuela to Lucian and his men in order to save some of the other immortals who had been captured for his fathers torturous experiments. Since then all of the people on the island have been freed including Thorne, his mother and his aunt. Now Thorne wants to have his wings removed so he can live a normal life taking care of his elderly mother and aunt who want to move off of the island.

While Stephanie’s sister Dani, who is a doctor, looks into ways to remove Thorne’s wings, he is staying at the house next door to where Stephanie lives. Not long after they meet, Stephanie discovers they are life mates. Though they have much to overcome. In addition to that, Dr. Dressler wants Stephanie on his table to see what it is that makes her special.

I liked this story, especially since it differed from the ones before it in that there are special circumstances with Stephanie being an Edentate (immortal without fangs) and Thorne being genetically altered. However, the book did get quite steamy pretty early on which I loved. I enjoyed the fact that even though Thorne was raised on an island cut off from the world, by the time he meets Stephanie, he is fairly worldly when it comes to women and a tech geek to boot. This book was one of my favorites so far in the Argeneau series.

Stephanie and Thorne: Ok, so Thorne is a very interesting character. His evil father basically played God and tried to create a super being in Thorne. The different kinds of DNA that was used with his human DNA made him a one of a kind, but also scratching my head at the possibility. I felt sorry for him but loved that he got Stephanie in the end.

I found Stephanie's abilities to be super cool but I also felt t sorry for her because of them. Stephanie may not have all that crazy animal DNA in her genetic makeup but she was still unique for an immortal. She felt like as much of a freak as Thorne did. I loved that these two together took that feeling away for both of them. They were literally a perfect match for each other.

I'm definitely enjoying this series. Each book is unique but has a lot of the same side characters in it. I have not read in order and not once have I felt lost. However, it is my goal to go back to book one and start it all over in order. These books are too good not to read every one of them.

Somewhere between a 3 and 3.5 star: I really enjoyed seeing Stephanie get a HEA! We've been following her plot for a very long time in the series now, and it was satisfying to see how her romance resolved the big outstanding issues. I also liked seeing Thorne again & while I wouldn't have thought of him as a match for Stephanie, it totally made sense in the book. The biggest ding on this one for me is that the pacing in the beginning was super slow and then there was too much time in the back half of the book where our h/h weren't really together

This is a well-written, entertaining, steamy paranormal romance novel. It has Ms. Sands' distinctive humor and wit, a strong and capable female protagonist, a likable and engaging male protagonist, a heartwarming, sizzling romance, and a satisfying conclusion. It is an excellent addition to the Argeneau series, and can be read as a stand alone, but is better when read in order for continuity of the story line within this outstanding series. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator, Ms. Stacey Glemboski, does an excellent job voicing the characters.

This one was so fun to read and a big reason why was Thorn. To say he was unusual is an understatement. I liked how fascinated Stephanie was of him from the start and not in a bad way. She saw things are fantastical and great, not weird and gross, something Thorn needed. I really love it when Thorn realized that was Stephanie's train of thought about him, him as a man, not him as a freak. Once they really started to talk they seemed to have so much fun, but it was a bit of work to get there.

The drama towards the end was crazy! Of course the bad guy was still coming for Stephanie, what was interesting was the connection of this bad guy to Thorn. It was a good thing that they had back up, they needed it. Once the big group was around things were so chaotic, everyone had a plan, everyone seemed to be talking at once and then when the big final fight went down, it was done to just a few, but they got the job done.

I really liked how this one ended, loved that Stephanie realized just how great Thorn was for her on so many levels.

First Impressions
This is the latest in the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands and what a book this turned out to be!!! I have to say I was highly impressed with this book, it actually just worked out so well for me here. And whew what a quick read that this one was here and I really was charmed by everything within this story here. I didn’t know quite what to expect from this one here but I knew that it would be a great one here. And I had completely forgotten about certain aspects in the series that I must have missed because DANG this hero….was so SWOON! I was really curious about what this one would contain, I mean a winged hero?? Yes please give him to me. But I also knew that his match would have to be very special indeed and I can guarantee that this author really worked her magic with this one here. And I related so well with these characters, there was something so emotionally raw with these characters and everything that they represent here. You definitely won’t go wrong in grabbing this one up

Summary
Stephanie McGill is different than any other immortal, she was turned into an Immortal when she was only a teenager, and unlike her sister and all of the others she has struggles that threaten to turn her into a rogue and one that her family may have to put down. Stephanie has the misfortune of being bombarded with the voices of all minds and not being able to shut any of them out. It’s why she lives a reclusive life, out in the country, away from the majority of people, and keeps to herself except for her pets. She has worked so hard to carve her own life without being a burden to others. Even though there have been times where she wanted to break, she keeps forging ahead. Then a sexy stranger comes to stay with her, and by some miracle, she doesn’t hear the voice in his head and she finds peace but doesn’t understand how or why. Thorne has his own demons, his own father turned him into this creature, where he isn’t fully man nor creature, he is a mixture of both and for that reason, he can never live among humans because he is different. But he can find a home with Stephanie. They have forged a bond stronger than most, they relate in a way where two of the strange circumstances revolving around their immortal births has only cemented their relationship in a way that they never expected. But there is an enemy that seeks to destroy everything good they have created together…..will he be defeated or maintain control over their destiny?

What I Liked
There were so many aspects of this story that I truly enjoyed about this one here. Immortal Rising was such a fun sexy story and I was utterly charmed by this book. And boy did I breeze so quickly through this one here. I was amazed by how quickly I read this one, and even for this author, I was amazed by it. I just couldn’t get enough of this romance here. There was something so riveting about Stephanie and Thorne coming together. They are both such lone souls that are in the need of love more than any other match that we have seen previously. They have both suffered in different ways but in a manner by which they are alone and forced into seclusion because of who they have become and not due to their own choices but the cards by which they have been dealt. My heart just broke for these here and seeing the heart-wrenching emotion that bursts within this story. Its definitely not an easy one and I really felt for what they have struggled with in this one. But also when they finally come together, their union becomes so majestically beautiful. What is really powerful is seeing the inner core of strength that just brightens from the inner self and brightens brighter than the noonday sun. Their love story is one that is so intense at times but in a way that you can relate with on a human level.

I want to be a part of your life, and not just for a week or so. For a lifetime…

What I Struggled With
There wasn’t much that I struggled with, now it didn’t have the magic that I have seen in some of Lynsay Sands other works, but also I felt like the conflict was resolved in a way that could have been used a bit more buildup.

Overall View
Immortal Rising is an enthralling romance that takes hold of your heart in a way that will have you yearning for each touch and each connection that seemed to embolden the story page by page….get ready for an adventure to curl your toes, bring true emotion to the surface, and liven the story at the right touch.

After Stephanie and her sister were attacked and turned against their will, Stephanie developed the ability to hear others thoughts but she can't block it out or turn it off like the other immortals can. So her new family set her up in a house out in the middle of nowhere, far away from others. But they don't realize that her abilities are far stronger than she let on and she can still hear some of the people around her.

Thorne was an experiment from the moment of conception. His father is a crazy scientist who tried to make children with special abilities through DNA splicing and he's one of the results. He has wings and small feathers on his head and he is hoping that he can have his wings removed so he can be somewhat normal.

So he moves into the vacant house next to Stephanie and she can't hear his thoughts because something is happening with her ability which has her troubled. She and her family are concerned that she might go crazy and start killing people like what they call a no-fanger. It's happened before and she's concerned that her losing her ability might be the first step to her going crazy serial killer. But she doesn't say anything to her sister about it which I thought was kinda crazy in itself.

Thorne is using the cabin close to her while her family figures out how to help him. Stephanie is so bubbly, so open and forthright that she makes Thorne feel comfortable right away. He feels like he's a freak and wasn't sure how she would respond to seeing him at first but they got along right from the start. They both find the other attractive right away and he finds her funny so they get along really well. It was fun to watch them fall for one another.

It would have been interesting if Stephanie could also hear her cat and dog's thoughts because they were so much fun but that wasn't part of the story which I thought would have been fun.

When Stephanie finds out that she has a stalker or someone is just spying on her, she and Thorne try and figure out why someone is spying on her. She thinks it's because she's an author and maybe one of her fans is trying to find out information about her newest book but then things get more dangerous and they have to call in backup.

I've been reading this series for a really long time. This is the 34th book in the series and I still love this series and look forward to reading the books when they come out. This was no exception, I loved Stephanie and Thorne, they were just so great together.

This is book 34 in the Argeneau series, I have only read a couple and it didn’t hinder my enjoyment at all. I enjoyed the story although it was pretty predictable. It was fun and a sweet suspenseful urban fantasy story. The two main characters were likable and I was definitely engaged in their story. Thorne was created by an evil scientist and has wings he would like removed so he can live a more normal life. He comes to stay next to Stephanie, an Immortal who is extra sensitive. The two have instant sparks which is good because they both will be facing danger and need all the support they can get.

Wow-what a read! I know that many reviewers and long-time readers are going to be telling 'newbies' that they really should read some of the other books first. In my opinion, you do not have to do so. As it is, the first part of this series is written quite differently; lighter, funnier, a tad less descriptive sexually. That might make you feel the author needs to grow, but she already has. The series has changed as time went on.

The second reason is that this book has enough necessary back-story that makes reading some of the later works in this series unnecessary. I myself was in a quandary when I didn't remember some essential past issues that were being discussed in this book. However, to my delight, just as I was beyond frustrated, everything was explained. So now I don't have to do a considerable re-read of the whole series. Not that I won't LOL!

What we have here is one of the best Argeneau books that I have read in a long time. The characters are fresh, sexy, and quite interesting. They have a lot more going on than just pining for each other.

Stephanie is a non-fang vampire, and Thorne is the result of a DNA experiment by his nutsy cuckoo father. Thorne has come to this remote area to see if he can have an operation that would make him "normal. Stephanie is in the same area because she hears thinner and outer voices of everyone in her vicinity. She needs to be alone. But fate is going to lead them on a wonderful trip filled with excitement, fighting, and a ton load of know-it-all vampires!

Since being attacked and turned as a teenager, Stephanie McGill has struggled to cope with her unique abilities that set her apart even from other immortals. After thirteen years, and with the help of her adopted family, the Argeneaus, she’s carved out a good life for herself, even if it is a lonely one. But that’s all about to change with the arrival of a new neighbor.

Thorne is unlike anyone Stephanie has ever met, and not just because he’s the result of a genetic experiment rendering him not quite mortal or immortal. He’s just looking for somewhere to hide where no one will see his wings while Stephanie’s sister tries to determine if a surgery to remove them would be a viable option. Stephanie’s little compound is the perfect hideout and in fact, he quickly realizes Stephanie is the perfect woman for him. She’s the first person to see him as a real person and not just a novelty and he’s falling for her fast.

Stephanie is falling just as hard for Thorne, but before they can look to their future they have to deal with the past in the form of the conscienceless scientist who engineered Thorne and now wants to capture both him and Stephanie for further tests.

First off, I adored Thorne as a hero, and he completely carried this book for me. Between the wings and his isolated history, he was by far one of the most unique heroes I’ve ever read, and I found his insecurity and uncertainty of himself to be very endearing. I really enjoyed his interactions with Stephanie and his protectiveness of her and I especially liked that she wound up reciprocating this protectiveness towards him as well. Now on to what I didn’t like so much. First off, this story was incredibly slow to start and got very bogged down in the beginning with little minutiae like all the details of exactly how Stephanie went about making food for her pets. That’s all fine and good but I was ready to move along and get on with the story. Next, Stephanie herself was pretty annoying as a heroine sometimes just because her thoughts got a bit repetitive with her fears of going “no-fanger” and there were many times in the story that Lucien was the only one who could get her calmed back down to something sensible.

I really loved this couple together and there were a couple of scenes in which that lovely mature and open communication I so adore was being set up and Stephanie just completely shut it down and ruined it by seducing Thorne and distracting him with sex. Don’t get me wrong, they were great together, but I also wanted the conversation between them too. Fortunately, Thorne was having none of it and rectified that situation pretty quickly. My only other issue was that for much of the last half of the book Thorne and Stephanie don’t really have much time together on the page and I wanted more of that, perhaps at least an epilogue with them together just to round everything out with more balance. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this couple, I liked that this story had some action and suspense without it being too much or so drawn out that it made me stressed, and I think this was a solid addition to an enduring series.

It's a 10 out of 10!!

I had to marinate on this review because I loved it so much and didn't know how to put it into words. I've been waiting for Stephy to be happy since she first showed up, and the fact that she got that plus some is amazing. As soon as Thorne showed up, I knew that he was going to be the one blocking the noise. And I am glad it's not permanent, however awful it is to her, since she still gets to feel useful when she helps the Enforcers. It'll be interesting to see her powers expand, especially now that she can push Lucian out.

Her asking Lucian to walk her down the Isle with Victor was

it literally had me crying.

I loved how much of a father figure Lucian was throughout the entire book, because he has been there for Stephanie since the beginning. And the fact that no one else had faith that she would be okay, but HE did. Ugh. My heart.

Despite her losing everything, Stephanie didn't lose anything. She lost her brothers and sisters and family, but she gained an ENTIRE family that all came to her rescue <3. Also, gaining Thorne's mother and Tia <3. AND THE MOTHER PROPOSING FOR THORNE TO STEPHANIE. But Dani deserved to be yelled at for how awful she was.

"Dani, Stephanie does not tell you anything that goes on in her life, at least not the truth. And she does that because she knows you are not worrying that she MIGHT turn No-Fanger, but WHEN exactly she will snap and have to be put down. She knows you are forever looking for signs that she is on the verge of it. Trying to prepare yourself for what will follow. It terrifies and disheartens her and puts a great burden on her all at the same time. She feels she has to protect you. And not make you worry more by telling you basically anything. Stephanie and Thorne's love story was terrific. Thorne is a hybrid created by his father, Dr. Dressler. He has wings and small, white feathers on his head similar to a bald eagle. Stephanie was turned immortal when she was a teenager. Her ability is being able to hear people's thoughts in her mind up to eight mile radius. It is feared by some of her Argeneau family (especially by her sister, Dani) that she will turn no-fanger, a psychotic immortal who slaughters others without conscience. Thorne is the perfect life mate because when Stephanie is with him, the voices in her head turn off. The silence is peaceful. Stephanie is the perfect life mate for Thorne because she sees him as a man, not as a freak. Dressler wants to capture both of them. He wants to put them on his table and experiment on them. Dressler wants to discover what makes Stephanie tick. Can Stephanie and Thorne get passed their past and their fears to reach for a future together?

This is the 34th novel in the Argeneau series. It didn't feel stale but fresh and alive with action and romance. I found the hero and heroine delightful, real and funny, but also annoying too. I got tired of reading Stephanie's fear of turning no-fanger. I got it. I didn't need to read it so many times. Overall, though, Stephanie was a good heroine. I liked how Thorne wasn't going to put up with her seducing him just to avoid talking seriously about herself. I liked how she dressed him, hiding his wings, to make him feel normal in town. They were the best for each other. I must point out that either I didn't read the novel that introduced us readers to Thorne, or I flat out forgot him as a character. I also don't recall Stephanie's teenage angst or her running away. I must have missed this novel too. Despite all this, I was able to follow along without getting lost in the characterization or the plot or the subplots. Now I will backtrack to find the earlier novels I missed. Happy reading!

I could not put this down! Started it at 9 pm and finished at 1am. I'm not even a romance fan but the mystery involved helps me. I started reading this series years ago and have kept up on all the new releases. Glad I got to read this as an ARC! Stephanie is a rock star and I'm so glad she found her life mate

A good fifty percent of the story is cooking eggs and feeding the pets. Add on two protagonists who are writer and editor, which pings my pet peeve of watching sausage being made, yes please tell me about the writing process while reading a book--totally takes me out of the story. Honestly, I love a guy with wings so I was sad that so much of the story was tedious minutiae instead of action.

Yay, libraries! Saved me from spending any money on this since I'm abandoning it.

DNF at 20%, because excess explaining of irrelevant detail is excessive and redundant and annoying. And weird. I'd think at 34 books in, this author would've gotten more efficient. But this feels very much like it was padded out to fill the word count minimum. I'd estimate 40-50% of the words could've been cut with no content loss whatsoever.

Here is just one example:

" Realizing Dani didn’t understand what she was saying, Stephanie opened her mouth to explain* that not only had she not heard a new voice in her head that could be Thorne’s, she wasn’t hearing any voices at all. But she changed her mind and simply said, “Of course. Happy to help.” "

*every single thing we just read in real time a paragraph ago, and which we have been told about several times in this chapter already. Gosh, could the winged guy be blocking her telepathy. Could that be it. Could it. Really.

Anyway. If you dislike word padding, you'll hate this novel.

While I have read many of the books in this series, it seems that I missed the novel in which Thorne was introduced. However, I had no problem whatsoever enjoying this story and hoping that Thorne would at long last get his happily ever after. Although, I will admit that my next book will probably be the one in which we meet Thorne! Stephanie was a character introduced much earlier in the series when she and her sister were unwillingly turned. Ever since that turning, the entire Argeneau clan has worried about Stephanie's mental well-being, including her own sister. Turns out she and Thorne proved it's ok to be different! This was a great addition to the long running Argeneau series. I certainly hope we get to see some more of Thorne's family in future books!

Stephanie McGill has been bombarded with peoples thought, and memories from 5 to 10 miles away. This has led to an isolated, lonely life for an immortal, and a write of Horror. Stephanie knows her family, and friends are worried that the "Voices" will drive her insane, and she'll have to be destroyed. Both of their backstories are heartbreaking in a way but their futures are sure to be filled with joy now that they’ve found each other. You would think after 34 books this series would get old but no, somehow Ms Sands manages to keep every story fresh and I love it. I kinda hope it never ends.

Immortal Rising is the 34th entry in the Argeneau series and unlike most of the others this is probably one of the very few I would recommend reading some of the previous books. While most in the Argeneau series can be read as standalones, there are still a lot of recurring characters and plot arcs that are going on. And both main characters from this book come from two different arcs that explain heavily their backgrounds and stories they come from. Now, it isn’t absolutely necessary as I think Sands does a decent job concisely explaining things but I definitely think it will help and this is the first book that doesn’t go too deep into what Immortals are or even too deep into the lifemate thing. Any other book before this one will do that.

That being said, this is probably one of my top favorites in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed Stephanie’s character and humor and thought she meshed very well with Thorne. I loved seeing all the past characters and had just a good time with this. I was nervous going in because we are introduced to Stephanie in the beginning of the Rogue Hunter series, as a teenager. And she is a moody, angsty thing (as teenagers are), and though I know she has evolved since then in glimpses from other books, I was afraid she wouldn’t have “grown up” enough for my taste. I was pleasantly surprised that this book has taken place 13 years later, girl is in her late twenties and she is doing great for someone who is burdened with the constant pressing thoughts of everyone around her in an 8-mile radius. Yikes. She had a great sense of humor and didn’t get super angsty.

Thorne, also being a bit of “freak” himself, was super chill and charming and well…hot. I thought they had great chemistry and even their misunderstandings turned into good communication. None of the things I hate in romance got dragged out. Miscommunication? Solved quickly. Virgin trope? Made sense, didn’t get weird or drawn out. Lucien being an alpha mother hen? I always love it, could never hate that.

I was so happy I received this book for review. Lynsay Sands is one of my comfort authors and I recommend her Argeneau series for a light fun contemporary paranormal romance read. You can really pick up almost any of them and not be lost, but it is worth it to read them all in my opinion.

So very disappointed in this long awaited story!

I have waited a long time (years) for Stephanie's story. I love the Argeneau Series by Ms. Sand and own very book published. As soon as the book became available on Amazon I rushed to buy it. Unfortunately, it became very apparent after the first chapter, that this book would not measure up to the previous books in this series. Torturously slow and boring are just two of the many synonyms to describe this book I could have used. Monotonous, tedious, and the best SPIRITLESS.
I started skipping pages almost immediately which is something completely new in a Lynsay Sands book. The heroine, Stephanie ,was so unlike the young girl we have come to know she was unrecognizable. The hero, Thorne was just dull, wooden and flat with little going for him. The plot was beyond tame and sluggish. Mainly he sat around talking a little with Stephanie who spent more time talking to herself. Thats the whole plot, they meet, greet,, talk about nothing of interest, go home to their prospective homes and start over the next day.. There was a little action toward the ending in the last few chapters but even that was so predictable and anticlimactic. After chasing after the dreaded Dr. Dressler for a third of the full series one would expect a massive show down between Immortals and Rogues but nope,instead we get a couple pages and it was over.
I only gave the book three stars, despite it not deserving even two, because of the nostalgia I felt over this long 34 book series. I have truly loved every book in the series. Some more than others but each well worth the price . This book however, was such a sad disappointment that I would never recommend it to any friend ( or foe ) and whole-heartedly wish I could get a refund. Seriously, just a waste of money. Here is hoping the next book is back up to the standards we have come to expect from Ms. Sands because this one is an absolute failure.

This was my first time picking up a book in this series but I definitely don't think it will be my last. I have also never read a paranormal book by Lynsay Sands but she brought me to the dark side. I really enjoyed this novel Stephanie and Thorne were so good for each other, I liked how their romance blossomed. There was also a great balance between their romance and the mystery and action in the storyline. I never felt like the story slowed down or got boring at any point it was all so captivating. I was a little nervous that I wasn't going to understand what was happening in the plot because this was the 34th book in the Argeneau series but I never felt lost, anyone could easily pick this book up as a stand alone. I'm glad I had the opportunity to read this book it made me want to read the rest in the series! And I'm so happy there are 33 other it will hold me over until the next books come out. Not going to leave a star-rating as I don't like to trash somebody's hard work, but while the first chapter started out interesting (which is why I grabbed the book), I finally gave up and threw it in the "donate" pile at page 140 when ABSOLUTELY NOTHING had yet still happened. All the heroine did was talk to her dogs, talk to her cats, talk to her sister on zoom, talk to her love interest, THINK about her dog, cats, sister, and love interest, and then even more talk, and absolutely no action whatsoever, while with the hero, it was pretty much him constantly thinking about his own backstory.

I realize in a romance, the building of the relationship takes precedence, and there are always "skeletons in the closet" which must be dealt with emotionally over the course of the book, but there has to be SOME conflict, some plot, some excitement, or adversary, or danger (even if that danger is a job loss or losing the ranch or a river rising or whatever). Sorry....

I like this series because I love the world and the specifics about the characters overall, but I miss the humor that attracted me to this series in the first place. I also became annoyed by the super specific way some scenes were described, skipping over sentences to get back to the action. Overall, it's another cute love story but these two characters are unique which made it even better.

Spoiler:
One major annoyance is how the immortals being able to use mind control is only employed at certain times and not always when they're in danger or really need it. This is an issue in previous books as well.

This is a fun series and have been reading along for a long time. Vampires that are a bit more like regular people and some humor, which makes it a fun series!
Stephanie McGill was turned to vampire/immortal when just a teen. Her abilities are not the same as other immortals. She has been supported and adopted by the extended Argeneau family and their friends.
Stephanie has made a life for herself as a writer living in a more rural area.
Stephanie meets Thorne who is not immortal but has some genetic oddities like giant wings.
So Thorne and Stephanie have both had a hard time trying to make lives for themselves.
For the first time when Thorne meets Stephanie he realizes she has had many of the same challenges that he has had. But that maybe they can find a way to make a life together, or at least there is hope now.
Meanwhile, the crazy Dr Frankenstein scientist that created Thorne is now after Stephanie.
Action and humor! Good combination.

In Immortal Rising Ms. Sands might have created the best Not-Immortal but Not-Mortal character ever brought to life through the pages of a book! And as an added bonus we readers get the follow-up story of Stephanie McGill who is the younger sister of the two girls who were rescued by Lucian Argenau and who survived being attacked and turned as teenagers by their kidnapper in an earlier book. Stephanie has found a place where she can find relative peace from the neverending thoughts of all the people within a close to 35 or so mile radius when she is told that someone is moving into the main house on the property she lives on while the current residents are away for an extended amount of time. She braces herself for a new onslaught of thoughts to bombard her brain but surprisingly, they never come. In fact, suddenly, she has total quiet in her mind for the first time in years! While she is enjoying the sudden peace and quiet she can't help but wonder, why? Is it because of Thorne, the newcomer or is there a more sinister reason behind it all? And what about Thorne himself? Just what kind of being is he? As we get the answers to all of these questions the action ramps up in typical Argenau Vampires book style and we have first row seats to the romance that develops between Stephanie and Thorne as well as to the danger and drama that gets visited upon them by not just one evil protagonist but the past that is coming for Stephanie too! Ms. Sands Argenau Vampires series has just upped the ante for her readers and produced the best of them all! So far, anyway IMHO. We also get to enjoy the company of some of the past characters from previous books in the series which is always a treat in and of itself!

Wing and a prayer

Thorne & Stephanie are awesome!! I love that they are lifemates! I wanted a Thorne story the minute we met him, & this one was just perfect. 🥰

From the way they meet to the reasons they are perfect mates for each other, this story drew me in. I love the suspense & family bits, the pacing is enjoyable, and there is lots of Lucian time!!! My love for Lucian is strong, & every time we get to learn more about his grumpy butt, I am a happy, happy girl. 😍😍

Both Thorne & Stephanie's feelings about how they were created & the things they worried about felt relatable, even tho their issues are supernatural. Highly enjoyed, highly recommend their story!! Oh, and of course, the other part of being lifemates was present... 🔥🔥🔥😉

I found this book interesting, and entertaining. It is the story of an immortal named Stephany, with unique powers, and Thorne who is a hybrid, and created by an evil scientist that happened to be his father with no moral compass . It was a sweet love story, with some steam. Even though the compound he ran was over run, and the rouge vampires, and dangerous hybrids terminated, Dressler had escaped. Now he is after Stephany, and Thorne as well when he spies them together. The chase scenes were exciting, and I loved how they were able to communicate, and see past their flaws to reach for a life together. The battle was what you would expect, and the ending was what you hoped for. It had a great storyline, and well thought out characters. I gave it a 5 stars.

This was the first book I have read by Lynsay Sands and probably won't be the last, I actually really enjoyed her style of writing!

Thorne is a pretty interesting character, definitely different from what I have read before. He is a genetically modified Immortal.

Stephanie is also an Immortal but was turned by a no-fanger (you'll understand when you read). She has some abilities that are unique to her and make her interesting to others.

Stephanie and Thorne's relationship coming together was really nice (and steamy haha), two lone souls meant for each other and bring one another peace and excitement.

I don't want to give away too much but if you're into fantasy and romance then give this a try!
