What does Bart Babington’s love life, a legendary key, and the Goddess of Death, have in common? Well, Bart is about to find out.
The not-so-famous witch doctor cosmetic surgeon is sick and tired of his two meddling sisters trying to mate him up at every annual Samhain celebration for the last ten years. So, Bart enlists his two best wingmen to help him find a fake date to take to Rabbit Hash for the party.
In his grand plan to get his sisters off his back, what he didn’t count on is falling for a pigeon raising, southern witch on a moped. Nor did he expect to lose her during the couple’s championships for the Loving Cup. But he’s on a ghostly trip to sort out his past and make room for true love in his life.
Will Bart find his witch, or will he never unlock his heart?
C. S. Edwards was born in Ashland, Kentucky, the youngest of three children. She grew up in the small Eastern Kentucky town of Inez, and moved to Lexington to finish high school. Attending Transylvania University for two years, C.S. graduated from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia in 1993. After a stent in New York City, C.S. moved back home to Kentucky where she's built her life around family. She resides just outside of Cincinnati with her husband, Sean, five amazing kids, and a precious goldendoodle.
A lover her fiction, her first passion is weaving a mystery. While she's working on a new dramatic fiction series, C.S. has found great joy in creating meaningful and useful journals, trackers, and planners. This new venture has included her daughter Eleanor as a co-author and researcher, and the entire rest of the family - Sean, Spencer, Alex, Chase and Preston - as contributors of ideas, feedback and inspiration. She plans to continue to design and develop multiple series of these practical and beautiful tools - while working to complete her next novel.
Maely and Bart contrive a fake relationship to get his sisters off his back about finding a mate. He's been hurt before and has closed his heart. Maely is just what he needs - bubbly, fun-loving, determined. His perfect mate if he could just get out of his way.
When she is torn from his arms, getting her back is all he wants. With the support of his family and friends, he will turn the world on its head to find her and win her heart.
A fun read with fun characters (including a flying pig and pigeons), Samhain, and a pie-eating contest. The M&M world has expanded well beyond Assjacket and it's a wild ride everytime.

I am slightly sad about this book because I love this series and universe. But I thought that this author had gone a little too far with her characters. Also, I thought that there was only one Baba Yaga, rather than one per species or.. I was not completely clear about the idea of witch doctor warlock either. And as a result have marked the book down a star. That said. The idea behind the storyline was fun, and fell squarely into the trope of fake fiancee romances. If you like Robin Peterman's fan fiction then do read.

Very enjoyable read. Bart Babington is a witch doctor cosmetic surgeon who is looking for a witch to pose as his girlfriend to avoid the parade of single witches his sisters try to set him up with every year. Maely is a witch who raises pigeon familiars and almost runs Bart over with her moped. Loved the HEA. A great read and I look forward to the next book in the series. Bart asks Maely to be his pretend girlfriend for a family get together but this becomes real. I like how Bart choses Maely as the witch he loves when faced with a choice.
Another great book to the series! The author brings a cast of strong characters and weaves an interesting and entertaining story. She kept things intriguing with a few twists along the way. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves quickly and smoothly and is an enjoyable read.

this was what I was hoping for from this series, it worked well with the previous entries. I was invested in the characters and getting back to this universe. It was written really well and I loved the way C.S. Edwards wrote this. I'm excited to see where this goes next.
