Very good kinky short m/m romance about an artist with a prissy boyfriend who not only owns the gallery at which the artist shows, but also gives him money for his rent and bills and leaves him feeling like a whore.

Anthony and Josh have been together for a while, although Josh is more than just a boyfriend, as a rich gallery owner he is also Anthony’s benefactor of sorts. He gives him money to live and support his art, which Josh then sells in this gallery. Their sexual relationship is fairly one-sided. Josh always tops and refuses to kiss him after oral sex or perform oral sex (I started to suspect he was straight). He feels that because of his stature and looks he has to give off the uber-manly vibe to avoid being seen as a “little faggot”. Anthony wants more, he want to top, he dreams of Josh going down on him, but Josh is clear, not interested and if Anthony’s not going to bottom then he’ll see him later.

To be honest, I found Josh to be a total ass. He treated Anthony more like a highly paid prostitute whom he looked fondly upon. However Anthony seems prepared to deal with it. A turning point in their relationship comes when following some Roman slave-boy porn, Josh notices Anthony seems turned on by the slave cuffs and collar so as surprise buys a pair. It’s very hot, however Anthony has a little surprise in store for Josh. Anthony begins working on a large canvas of men in a slave market and asks Josh to model for him. Once Josh is naked and chained up … well, Anthony decides now is the time to push, and he’s prepared to accept that it might end their relationship.

However he’s in for a surprise as well. When Josh is forced into the submissive position, he takes to it with a gusto that surprises even himself. Once Josh decided that sex in all forms was a great idea, I liked him much more, and finally he and Anthony were able to connect in a way they hadn’t when Josh held himself apart.

I also liked is that the D/s aspect of the relationship was not all one way. It wasn’t a case of Anthony always being dominant after the turning point, and Josh being submissive. So often each man takes on one role and sticks with it, but in this case they kind of took turns playing that role, sometimes in public in subtle ways, but more so in the bedroom so it was nice to see that they both got to play a role.

A large part of the story is also Anthony’s work on the life-sized slave market painting. The descriptions were really impressive and I would love to see it it if existed. It sounded amazing. There is a HEA of sorts for the two men as they agree to move in together at the end, however their story is not finished as tomorrow I will review Frosted Hearts, the continuation of their story.

If you like BDSM stories that are more on the lighter (although intense) side with scenes played out between a loving couple, rather than a more permanent 24/7 type relationship I think you’ll enjoy Josh and Anthony’s story, once you get past what a jerk Josh is at first.

Anthony and Josh are lovers since ten months. Apparently they are a perfect couple, but during the privacy there are some problems: Josh has some fears he can't overcome. Cause his tiny looks and his accultured behaviour, he can easily be mistaken for a bottom, and he absolutely can accept it. He is the Master, he is in control. So he categorically refuses every sex act that sees him as a bottom: no anal sex, no blowjobs, he even refuses to kiss his lover after receiving a blowjob by him.

Anthony is puzzled: he loves Josh, really; Josh is protective and nice, but still he feels like a whore when his lover buy him dinner, or pay his due or rent. And then Josh brings in their relationship a Master/Slave perspective and Anthony sees the chance to "force" a little his lover: forcing him to lose his control, maybe will unveil his true nature, and a collar will be the only masque Josh will need to hide his fear and free his spirit.

A very short novel but beautifully written. The relationship between Anthony and Josh is decipted in fast stroke but it manage to give you a whole and deep perspective of this couple. The character of Josh is complex and in evolution: first he is hateful and spoilt, then needing and lovely; you can't not love him, he is too cute (but don't say it to him, he can bite you back...)

This book was OK. Once it got going, some of the action between the main characters was kinky and kind of sexy, but I really never connected with them, so it felt pretty lukewarm for the most part. The formatting of the book made it extremely hard to follow the dialogue between Josh and Anthony - I could hardly ever tell who was doing the talking, so that made it even more challenging to become engaged in the story.
